This is the place. Stop here for sure. We are staying nearby and have now gone back 4 times. We've also tried the fancier places nearby only to be mostly disappointed and overcharged. Nestled in a small plaza is a cute outdoor seating area (our kids loved the seat that is made out of an old boat). Inside, you can grab a marker and put your name on the wall. And went back outside to talk to my companions in the car.. and a worker from the kitchen came out angry. Saying to use the bathroom in the gas station. Nice place to for a quick bite while in the Keys. We had mahi & chicken tacos with sides. The fish was fresh and the mango salsa was delicious! The fried okra was done perfect and went well with hot sauce. The key lime pie tasted good but was not thawed to room temp. A beer and simple wine selection would be a plus here! read more

This place was SO tasty! I am a big fan of shrimp tacos and fish tacos, and these were literally the best shrimp tacos I've ever had. My husband never eats seafood but when we walked in he was enchanted by the smell, ordered a half pound of shrimp, and LOVED it! That is seriously saying something. This place is incredible. One of the best we visited in Islamorada. We ordered jerk chicken skewers, shrimp tacos, and fried okra, and everything was delicious. The servers were extremely nice. We asked them where to get a bag of ice, like where is the nearest convenient store, and Kimberly was just like, oh we'll give you one you don't have to worry about it. What a gold nugget!! A marina employee advised us to go to the Twisted Shrimp and are we glad we did!! I had the 1/2 lb. shrimp and my Wife had the shrimp and grits. She claimed the dish to be the best shrimp and grits she had ever had. I received a very large portion of shrimp. Usually, fried shrimp have way too much breading on them, but not these!! Large and very flavor-filled, with a hefty portion of great fries and Cole slaw made a memorable meal. This is sort of a mom & pop place- dining inside or out, the cashier doubles as waitress, small dining area etc. If you can bear to eat without table cloths, nice china and silverware, fore-go a Wine selection,, and pay a modest price-- do yourself a favor and stop here!! We stopped for a late lunch. The place is not much to look at from the outside, but inside was clean and "home". We had the shrimp and grits - which was tasty but too much food for lunch for my wife - and I had the 1/2 lb of fried shrimp. The shrimp were lightly breaded and very good sized and meaty. The fries were also very very good (crispy, fresh, hot). No waiter/waitress service but the small staff is quick with the food and keeps things moving. Overall an A+ experience. read more

We were on a drive back from Marathon and wanted to pick up something to go. I decided to call in a pick up order and I had a question regarding some menu items as they are not described very well on their website. The girl who answered the phone could not describe it at all so I went with something I knew and a fried shrimp basket plus three large drinks. We get there and she doesn't give us the large cups so I had to remind her. We were in a hurry so I asked for extra ranch for everything and left without checking the bag. When I started going through the bag, they did not include the side for the shrimp and she handed me spicy ranch, which is not something some in the car could eat. Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Just opening up, all was organized and clean. Small seating areas inside and out. Smaller menu but more than enough choices. Food served basket/wax paper style. Had good portion and tasty fish dip. Said it was served w/pita chips, came with Tostitos type chips. Wife had shrimp Po Boy w/side of rice good but shrimp needed batter with the fried shrimp, very little if any on shrimp. Rice good. I had Jambalaya with shrimp. Good but could use some more seasoning/flavor. Fountain drinks available no beer and wine as of yet. Will try again read more

This is on our 'must' list now whenever we are in the Keys. We had the Fried Friday shrimp special and the Jambalaya. We were blown away. The owner threw together three different seasoning on the shrimp. That said, we were amazed at the lightness of the fried shrimp. He uses rice oil and a very light breading and the result is perfect. The sweet potato fries, coleslaw and jambalaya were excellent as well. The owner was friendly and willing to tweak the standard to freeing a to suit our taste highly recommended!! read more

The food is great here and the staff is very friendly and accommodating! It's very clean and has ample seating outside! The best part is you can bring your own wine or beer!!! (No cork charge and no glass wear provided) but who cares it's the keys (throw it in your tervis tumbler!!!! My favorite menu items thus far are.... fried chicken, fried shrimp (very lightly battered) the shrimp are incredible, and I love the okra!!!!! We will be visiting again soon read more
