This is my first time at Twisted Taco, but not my family's.. I came in to pick up an order for my husband, and our son. I am glad I stopped by. My son ordered the Big Jake Burrito and my husband ordered the Big Jake bowl. Both had grilled chicken. Also my husband ordered the boom boom shrimp taco. I don't eat chicken, so I declined tasting any of it. But they both said she food was delicious and plentiful. I'll definitely be back, and I'll find something for me to eat from here. :-) read more

It's just OK now. Great margaritas. The cast iron skillet queso that was so good is gone from the menu. You need to bring it back! People came just for that. The new stuff isn't special at all. Also, the Charro beans are gone! Epic fail! The meat used in the Argentinian taco is usually very tough & chewy, so I don't order that anymore. The hills run red is good and so is The Baja. Bring back the above two items and increase the beef / steak quality and you're back to a decent restaurant. read more

I passed by here dozens of times and today I decided to give it a try. The salsa and chips were good. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a nice flavor too. The queso dip with the jalapeños on the side was great. I ordered 2 Baja tacos with refried beans. The tacos were very tasty and filling. My husband ordered Steak Fajitas and it was good as well. He said that's the most tender fajita he's ever had. Now the waiter must've had something on his mind because he forgot our order of queso dip, which it looked as though he was writing it down. After several minutes my husband asked him about the dip and he looked at his pad and said that he must not have heard that. While taking my order I told him that I wanted 2 tacos, while holding up 2 fingers. He then asked me how many did I want and I repeated 2. Overall, I will definitely go back. read more

Service breakdown! Maybe because it was Sunday at 2:30. Maybe the server was distracted. In any event, my extremely simple order never came. Chips never came. Nothing came. My server checked and sheepishly told me that somehow my order had not been put in. An hour had passed. No apology. No manager intervention. Nothing. We ordered takeouts and it was so nice to have dinner at our vacation home since we were on the go after arriving in the area. We ordered everything online and it was a smooth process. Each item was able to be customized to how we wanted it. I got the Cuban taco without the plantains and it came with black beans, rice, mojo sauce, and cilantro. The chicken tinga taco came with crema fresca and guacamole. I loved both of the tacos and it was really flavorful. I probably should have ordered a margarita to go as well after reading some of the reviews now...lol! I can't speak for the service since we didn't eat there, but after seeing some of the pictures of the jail cell tables, I wished we did. On a summer outing, I visited this popular joint for lunch. While Twisted Taco has proven to be a sound refuge as an evening spot, the place can disconcert me, depending upon my mood. I've seen other customers shoot glances over their shoulders. With its enormous dining rooms and Old West-style booths designed like prison cells, let me say that the affair can give my insides a stir. The two Treasures of the Sierra Madre (soft tacos) I ate with French fries were definitely enjoyable -- a tasty, not-the-healthiest meal. And this writer drank an iced tea, with lemon or lime slices as almost always. The Treasure has small, breaded fried chicken pieces coated with shredded cheese and a fair amount of lettuce. And the fries? Soft. Pleasing. Plentiful. At the time, this small hill of spuds substituted for the usual side of black beans and Spanish rice (the latter isn't even part of the deal anymore). How to wrap this up? If the great variety of tacos offered aren't your thing, I'll attest that the 2 different loaded quesadillas I have had there practically dissolved in my mouth. The Wi-Fi is typically iffy, however, I've never found fault with service after my order was placed. The wait staff will keep those bowls of salsa coming. Add in some pop radio backing music, and this is TT: the good, the bad and the occasionally odd. I'll be back again for sure. read more

Taste like they don't believe in salt, or any other spices to season their food. The crab cake tacos was gross which is the one I was most excited for - definitely not real crab meat. . My bf said his good wasn't good either and lacked seasoning. My husband and I decided to order takeout from the Twisted Taco. This was our first time at this location. We thought the customer service was great. They served us water and chips and salsa while we waited for our order. We both ordered three tacos and a side. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp (one of my favorites), The Treasure of Sierra Madre which needed more sauce because the chicken was flavorless and the Argentinian and black beans. We showed up hungry , online says that they close at 10 during the week and 11 on the weekends... And then the server told me that they closed earlier than that. Looking around it seemed that they've already tried washing the floors and doing everything, I understand getting things done early... But everywhere was listed 10 and 11. I see this restaurant all the time, and have wanted to try the food. My favorite food is Tex-Mex -- bar none. It can be authentic, taco stand, mole sauce covered, or chain ... as long as the ingredients are quality, I'll enjoy it. Basically, I'm not a snob about it, even though I can tell difference between authentic Mexican food and the "American-cantina style" food. Even so, I can simply appreciate a hearty TexMex meal, and that's what I got from this Twisted Taco. I severely cut down ordering food through "food delivery" services. And haven't done so in quite awhile, but I folded for the convenience and ordered the fully loaded nachos from this restaurant. Y'know when you have food delivered, you pay a premium over menu sticker price for them to drop it off at your door. So, I love it when I buy something I know is overpriced, but feel like I got my money's worth for the value and the taste. Twisted Taco was not stingy at all with the toppings, and for a cheat meal, which I also rarely partake in as I'm a also cardio junkie, this was filling and covered in queso, quac and chicken and steak protein. When I feel like I a business really set out to satisfy it's customer, I have to give it a shout out. Unfortunately, I've been to way too many places that charge high prices and make you feel like they're doing you a favor. It's a part of the reason that for the last 3 - 4 years, I've been investing that money that I used to spend going to restaurants, and getting subpar service, into cooking with my pressure cooker, meal prepping, and just about anything else. I had a really rough day, so I went to the Twisted Taco for appetizer and a cocktail. I ate a bite of the appetizer and a sip or two of the cocktail until I realize people are leaving in their cars drunk. Tonight, Lieutenant Jennings of the Fayetteville Police Department shows up at the Twisted Taco in Fayetteville (GA) after I called 911, because the third person who went into their vehicle, acting drunk, annoyed me. I thought someone was gonna come out and take care of the situation until I realized nobody was taking care of anything! Why is the restaurant letting people acting out of their establishment into their cars acting drunk? This man left without paying his bill, and they were chasing him down more interested in him paying his bill than him getting home safely. This man in particular was belligerent & was there from the morning, until now even interacting with other customers who are minding their own business according to my 21-yr old server Rose. She tells me that it is 21-year old Tyler, the manager, whose call it is to let people in their vehicles as well as the bartender's. Seems that this is true ! According to Lieutenant Jennings the bartender and manager have no liability! Lieutenant Jennings does not acknowledge the Dram Law, which is probably only for social parties, and it seems like bartenders and restaurants are negligent free in his purview because they were all acting drunk right then & there with the intention of driving home. In addition, Lieutenant Jennings did not want to know the name of the person who left acting drunk in his vehicle when my server had it, and he didn't want to stick around for anyone leaving from the bar who may have been belligerent and acting drunk after sitting at the bar being served & getting in their cars. He said it's not his responsibility. Then he drove off. Before he left, though he just looked at me kind of sideways like why didn't I do something or call sooner or what's wrong with me. I wish he would have got the name of the man who drove off acting drunk. My server had it! The lieutenant didn't want it. I couldn't believe it! When I paid my bill, I noticed I was being followed. Then I realized I was followed by another police officer almost home until I turned. Weird & Interesting. I felt like I was a suspect chasing me down when I didn't do anything and it's the Twisted Taco allowing people to drive home acting drunk. What kind of backwards situation is this? I'm not fond of this particular Lieutenant or the restaurant anymore now. Who does this??? read more

Twisted Taco has a really great Tex-Mex atmosphere, TV's everywhere and friendly staff. The drinks are also pretty good. These are all reasons why I am granting this place two very well earned stars. However, unless your pallet is used to lack of flavor, unseasoned beans, and maybe your aunt who thinks everything is too spicy is in town and she really wants a taco, do not - and I really would like to emphasize DO NOT, bother getting food here. It is definitely not authentic Mexican but even so, it's not great Tex-Mex either. I ordered the vegetarian bowl which lacked a lot of flavor, had too much string cheese, and really didn't do any justice on any of the ingredients. It really is even below the flavors you'd find at Chipotle. I feel that this is something I could've easily thrown together at home and for way less. That's the other thing, everything on the menu was way over priced. They try a little too hard to give everything on their menu a funny/fun name (a house margarita is called "The Low Rider" which is cute or whatever but why? It makes for a lot of confusion) As I mentioned, the staff was very friendly but there was definitely some mix-ups and n our tables orders which I honestly feel could have been avoided with a more simplistic menu. At times, places like this that try to cater to too many people or food categories just don't get the simple things right and it all leaves for a very disappointing experience. And again - so over priced for the amount of food and the quality. I wish I could go back in time and only order a drink and save myself this expense so again, unless you're okay with bland food just maybe skip the food part of Twisted Taco altogether. read more

Twisted Taco was a favorite when they were in Johns Creek. Because I was in the area, I decided to try this location, the only location standing in metro Atlanta. I was disappointed that the fajita wings, one of the most popular menu items, had been removed. Although the staff was friendly, the food quality and freshness wasn't satisfactory. I ordered veggie nachos, and they were prepared with huge chucks of bell peppers, and the quac had a sour taste. The margarita also missed the taste mark. Too watered down for my liking. My husband ordered wings and a taco, and he enjoyed his meal. Overall, I would consider returning because the staff was so friendly and engaging. read more
