Extremely Disappointed - Worst Dining Experience I've Had I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Sabor in Fayetteville was disappointing from beginning to end. It started the moment we walked in. There was no warm welcome or greeting from the staff. We later discovered a very small sign on the front door stating they were not serving alcohol. No one mentioned this when we were seated. We didn't find out until we started ordering drinks. While there technically was a sign, it was small and easily overlooked. A simple heads-up from the hostess would have gone a long way. We almost left, but decided to stay because we were hungry. Our server, Liz, never introduced herself. She simply began taking orders until we asked for her name. Throughout the meal, she was not warm, friendly, or engaging. Her demeanor made us feel like providing good service simply wasn't a priority. When I asked what type of fish was pictured on the menu, she said she didn't know. I asked if she could check with the kitchen. She seemed reluctant to do so, but eventually returned and simply said it was "blackfish." That wasn't very helpful, but I ordered it anyway based on the recommendation. We also ordered the house dip, which arrived without a serving spoon. When my mother-in-law asked for one, Liz returned with an oversized pot-stirring spoon that was much larger than the serving bowl. We then requested small dishes for sharing, and they came out soaking wet, requiring us to dry them ourselves. Once our food was delivered--by the robot, not our server--we never saw Liz return to ask if everything was okay or if we needed refills, condiments, or anything else. Basic table service was completely absent. The biggest issue came at the end of the meal. We had six people and requested our checks be split into two family groups. The bills were incorrect, and my in-laws were charged separately in a confusing way. After questioning the charges, we believed everything had been corrected. The next day, however, my father-in-law noticed an additional $76 had been charged as a tip on his card, even though his bill was less than $50. When he called the restaurant, he was told that he had authorized that amount as the tip, which he adamantly denies. After he informed them he would dispute the charge with his bank, management agreed to refund the money. I understand restaurants can be short-staffed or experience operational issues. I also understand businesses go through challenges. What is difficult to overlook is the complete lack of communication, inattentive service, poor attention to detail, and the confusion surrounding the final bill. This was, without question, one of the poorest restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. I sincerely hope management invests in better customer service training and tighter oversight of billing procedures so future guests don't have a similar experience. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to carefully review their bill and credit card receipt before leaving the restaurant. read more

Ummmm honestly this was nasty. I have been here a couple times over the years. They recently went under new management not sure if that's playing a factor. Saw 2 waitresses that ignored me for about 4 minutes. After which, the one who decided to address me, didn't speak English and handed me the RF gun to enter my order myself. I noticed the prices on the online menu is $4 cheaper than what I saw on the RF gun. I could not order online as their online ordering service is down and still is today. I used to enjoy this place, but things have changed. The prices have gone up, but the food has gotten worse. My last visit was very disappointing. The water tasted strange, the salsa left a weird aftertaste, and the steak and chicken left a lot to be desired. The shredded chicken in my burrito was dry, tough and chewy , like it had been on the stove for waaaay too long. I also wasn't feeling the vibe from the waitress. I've noticed in general that the female employees/waitresses have a bit of an attitude, while the waiters are usually super friendly and hospitable. My favorite flavor combination is the peach and mango. Great deal everytime, awesome for large groups. I hate to leave a negative review, especially somewhere I've gone and it's been great before. The last few times I've have been been waayyy below expectations from how good the food was before. This last visit solidified that I won't be coming back. First off, the 12 oz margarita was lacking tequila. I'm a bartender & watched her use 2 oz of tequila. I got a Don Julio fresh margarita. It was $25 (that costs half of a bottle of Don Julio). They used to have such nice presentation. Whenever you ordered soups, a cute, authentic side caddy came with salsa picante, cilantro, onions, limes & jalapeños. Ordered menudo, and only onions and jalapeños were sloppily thrown onto the plate that was under the bowl. This is the first place I've been to that had homemade corn tortillas and that has been the main reason I've been coming back. The last couple times I've come, they've been dry & didn't taste fresh. Really not understanding the high rating here. My burrito was cold, it was full of beans with hardly any meat. It might as well had been a bean burrito. Hardly any of the fixings were present. Everything about the burrito was extremely bland. I ordered the California burrito. I also didn't like how it was more of a wrap. The ends of the burrito were open. It was quite large, but just not good at all. I also ordered two tamales. One chicken, one pork. I ate the pork one first. Extremely dry. Since the burrito was a disappointment, and the pork tamale was too I didn't bother trying the chicken. I threw the rest of the meal away. Most AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD in the area! I'm from California where authentic Mexican food is mouth watering delicious and on almost every corner. Two of us got BIRRIA TACOS and YUMMMMMM!!! These are the real deal! Sabor a Mexico serves their BIRRIA TACOS on fried corn tortillas, MY FAVORITE! This wasn't an important piece of info to me until I had BIRRIA TACOS served on semi-charred corn tortillas, which is another way they are prepared. My husband got the STEAK FLAUTAS and he said they were amazing. I ordered take out and it was ready a few minutes before the promised time. My husband picked it up and he said the staff was kind and professional, and that the food was packaged with care. Thank you Sabor a Mexico for bringing a taste of Mexico (and California) to Georgia. It was a last minute decision to come here instead of another restaurant in the same plaza and im glad I did. I did a quick Yelp search for the rating and my decision was made final by all the positive reviews. They have a lot of different options on the menu, so it was hard to decide, but when I'm in doubt my go to is always chicken. I did a chicken dish with onions and mushrooms with a side of beans and rice and it left me wanting more! The appetizer was something new for me, it was steak over a cactus ( never had cactus) with cheese and guacamole . My boyfriend had some type of beef taco dish he enjoyed as well. I came here early on a Saturday right around noon. I ordered the chicken soup with an extra side of rice. The soup was good but nothing spectacular. The rice tasted old and stale. The service was good I was immediately sat and the waiter checked on me through my meal. The price was affordable.
