I had driven past Twistee Treat several times on my way home from work because the ice cream shaped hut stands out from the rest of the unassuming strip mall. I am not an ice cream connoisseur by any means but I was getting tired of driving down to the water ice place to get a frozen treat and decided to try Twistee Treat since it's closer to my house. I've come here in both the daytime and nighttime and they are already friendly and speak clearly when ordering through the drive-through. They don't even sound bothered if you ask questions or ask for a moment to view the menu. There is a drive through as well as walk-up windows. They also have a small patio area that you can sit and eat in if you want to go that direction. It was blocked off temporarily due to COVID restrictions but I think they have it "socially-distanced" now. I usually pretty vanilla when it comes to ice cream orders, so I usually just get a large vanilla in a cake cone with sprinkles. I did have a caramel sundae one time and it was such a sugar overload for me that I think I'll have to stick to my usual in the future. There are so many options so take your time to look at the menu and maybe try something new. They also have slushies and banana splits and all kinds of sundaes. The ice cream tastes much better than other places around the area in my opinion. I also come to Twistee Treat because it reminds me of a place I used to go to back in my home state. So it has nostalgic value for me. The prices are reasonable as well. The only downsides of getting ice cream is that it either melts too fast (so eat it outside your car or get it in a cup) or it's gone in a flash because it's so good. It can be pretty busy in the evening when people are trying to go out for dessert so be patient and try to have your order ready so the line keeps moving. read more

This has to be my absolute favorite ice cream spot! Twisty treat is just down the road from me and is go go to spot for my sweet tooth. They have tons of different ice cream options. They also have a Twirl, this allows you to add up to 2 candies mixed into the ice cream. The ice cream itself is so smooth and delicious. The staff are always super sweet and friendly. The prices are great, I would say half the cost of the other chain ice cream shops. Prior to Covid they would set out sidewalk chalk for kids and different games to enjoy while sitting outside. Another great thing that they offer is that they have puppy cups. My fur babies absolutely love to visit! They are served on a small cup with a dog treat on top. Pretty decent place to get a late night treat! Prices are super inexpensive, the employees were very sweet, and we didn't have that long of a wait! They have cute little picnic tables so that you can sit outside instead of attempting to eat your sweet treats in the car. The only issue we had is the fact that the bathrooms weren't unlocked at the time we went, so we were unable to wash our toddler's hands and face... Modern day problems call for modern day solutions- We hosed him off with the water hose on the patio, problem solved! Lastly, this location didn't carry some of the flavors listed on the website (or at least I didn't notice the amaretto flavor that I REALLY wanted!) But everything we got tasted great! I loved my husband's pistachio ice cream! My brownie boat was definitely way too much for just one person, so I highly recommend sharing with someone if you order one of those or a banana split- they are huge! We came by for some birthday ice cream We had butterfinger mix in, Oreo milk shake, coffee ice cream hot fudge sundae and black cherry ice cream hot fudge sundae. The mix in and shake were good. That being said my coffee sundae was given to me with nuts and no hot fudge and the blackcherry sundae also did not have hot fudge. He did fix it when we asked about it but mine was very melted by the time I actually got to eat it. We will not be back for birthday ice cream. read more

This is a great little spot that we needed here in the Valrico area since all the other ice cream spots are so far away we typically get a milk shake which are always great my daughter got a tornado thing which was gummy bears and vanilla soft serve and I got a brownie sunday that was delicious we have ordered other items before and they have always gotten our orders accurate and they move pretty fast to serve you as well read more

We have waited three months for this location to open. We drive by every Saturday to check. Today the excited screams inside my car could probably be heard inside the twistee treat. Thank goodness it's finally open. The ice cream is exactly as I remembered it. Smooth, creamy, and ample amount for the price. We weren't as impressed with the black cherry flavor which was simply a liquid mixed into the vanilla. I don't remember that from the past. Twistee Treat is always good and never have complaints in the soft serve deliciousness they serve. They have various flavors and more than just soft serve. My family and I decided to go on a saturday night, in February, 9PM and it was cold so it was NOT busy. We went through the drive thru due to the weather. There was one car ahead of us and by the time we pulled up, they pulled up to the window. From the time we ordered 3 ice cream cones until we received them was 20 minutes!!!! We would have gotten out of line but at that point there was a car behind us. We waited ten minutes for the car in front of us. All they had were 2 ice cream cones. When we got to the window for our ice cream cones there were 5 employees around the window, 4 of which were laughing and having a great time as if there were not people in line. Although we live 10 minutes from this location, we will NEVER go to this location again. We love twistee treat and will continue to give our business to the company but not at this location. We got 3 small cones/cups. One strawberry and vanilla swirl, chocolate and vanilla swirl with rainbow sprinkles, and one vanilla cone dipped in cherry. Around 9$ with good serving size. read more

Came here on its second day of opening and they had half price special for all your orders. Just like the other twistee treats we've been to, they have their own ways of making our mixing their ice creams/sundaes/etc. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions since we haven't been to this location yet. We ordered two waffle cones and they both came out very well. It was hot outside so the ice creams looked like to was smoking. This is the first time ice seen a drive thru on a twistee but maybe on other locations I just don't notice. It's definitely nice to have a twistee in this area since we're around here all the time, located next to a cracker barrel and a LA Fitness (literally you can walk) so very convenient. Didn't get a chance to see the hours of operations but more than likely same as other twistee treats. The food here is always good so we will definitely be back maybe to even try their hot dogs next time. read more

The ice cream was the same as any Twistee Treat, but the location is what makes this place awesome! I love being able to get delicious ice cream less than 5 minutes from my house. The huge patio and drive thru are nice perks as well. Also, we brought our dog and he got the cutest little Pup Cup ever! It wasn't just some whipped cream in a cup like Starbucks does.
