Just a very mediocre dinner here. Prime rib was very chewy. As was the very dry chicken piccata. Tried to get waitress attention 3 times when she walked by but refused my eye contact. Though this fascinating place has been in existence for decades, since Sweetness bought and refurbished the building (circa 1856!!) in 1996, we finally ate here. Fascinating, ENORMOUS facility. Restaurant, private rooms, bar, Cafe, courtyard, banquet rooms, entertainment stage, gift/liquor shop were all contained IN the roundhouse. And a tribute area to Walter Payton. Also, an adorable, kid-size Thomas The Tank Engine roundtable. Very nicely refurbished, with high ceilings that would have housed locomotives back in the day. Two Brothers on site brewery has terrific beers. Our meal was very good. Flash fried, crispy Brussels sprouts with sweet chili sauce started off our meal, a huge platter, enough for 4 people. We had a filet & prime rib. Both came with mashed & green beans. Fine quality meats. Good mashed; crisp, bright green beans. Parmesan crust on filet needs a little work, appeared to be plain parm sprinkled & broiled. Coffee was good. Service was above average, but we had to hunt for our server a couple of times. Would recommend, for sure. They do host some events, so check b4 you go. Sign outside indicated antique car shows every Sunday, gets crowded. Save some time to have a walk around. You'll be glad you did. Lots of parking. Pretty close to River Edge Park. Holiday Inn next door. P.s. told the manager that they should sell little trains in the gift shop. Fool me once . . . This is the second bad review I've had to write for the same reason so I won't be going back. The food is decent, the building is phenomenal, but the bus staff is overly aggressive in removing your plates when you still have food on them. This same fellow interrupted us again last evening - as he started to take a plate - so it's doubly annoying. I told him to stop and not come back but it put a damper on the group. No one wants an argument at dinner. If people want a box they'll ask for it, but only when they are done eating. This is restaurant management 101. read more

I went in with my family of 12 Sunday evening and really enjoyed our server Dani. She recommended several items a few that were new and everything was delicious! Dani had the right amount of humor and knowledge to ensure our night went smoothly! I do wish to include that at the end of our visit we noticed that not only was the bartender but the host as well just sat and talked with another individual the entire evening. We had questions about setting up another reservation but the host was caught up in her conversation and paid us no mind but made the comment about how she doesn't understand "why people just stand around HER host stand" we seen our server walk up and expressed how much her service meant to us as she thanked us with her hands full of menus she proceeded to start cleaning them and organizing the host stand. I didn't think anything of it until the actual host came up to then FINISH what our server had started. As much as we enjoyed our experience once at our table it's unprofessional and rude to be ignored by the first and last person you are meant to see. Attended the Christmas Popup with some friends. I loved the idea and the fact that it was local. There was definitely room for improvement given the price point. 1) Remove all high top bar chairs. People are attending in pairs and groups so this wasn't conducive to a holiday gathering experience. 2) Play diverse styles of holiday music and turn it down a little. We should not have to shout to hear one another. 3) The appetizers were too few and disappointing in taste especially since it came from a restaurant. For example one cracker with cheese, pork belly with home made peanut butter and an undercooked meat ball. Also the holiday drink was watered down. 4) I loved the room, decorations and photo area! 5) Drinks purchases were anticipated. Expect to order appetizers given the selection and taste of those that came with the ticket. This was my first socially distanced dining experience and the venue is actually perfect for it. The outdoor beer garden (located in an old roundhouse, where the train engines would sleep!) is now open and in the middle is a large stage. Tables are arranged around it, at least 10 feet apart. Waiters wear masks and gloves the whole time and menus are all paper/one time use. I just can't believe how easy it was to get a table tonight (they aren't taking reservations right now)... other nearby outdoor dining locations are full right when they open at 4pm. I would just add that this space, although cool, would really benefit from some good landscaping. And why did they turn on the fake fireplaces at 6:15pm when it was 87 degrees?? Otherwise it was great to get my all-time favorite beer, a Hefeweizen, and the best pretzel I've ever had. read more

Went there again because we were going to the Paramont theater again to see the full Monty. We ordered what we always seem to order the bourbon salmon which their famous for and green beans w wild rice We started with there great house salad and had some of there great coffee We finished with the great flourless chocolate cake . We were near the area at a baseball game so after the game the entire baseball team decided to go here for dinner. They were able to fit in 40-50 of us. The menu really doesn't have a big selection. It's a page for appetizers, salad, wraps and then like six premium priced meals. I was looking for a nice cut of steak but they only had a 9 oz cut and then they had prime rib but not a fan of that. They have a drink menu so make sure you ask for it. The waitress was nice and she was running around getting everybody's order and keeping up with drinks. The food was coming out at different time but we understood it was a big party and only her running around until a boss helped her. I ordered a chicken Ceasar wrap and my son got a buffalo chicken wrap. The wraps were both delicious and good portions with fries. We also ordered the pretzel appetizer but to be honest it wasn't good at all. The cheese curds were burnt and so small but good. I also got an old fashion and it was good. My son got a root beer and he said it was delicious and it has a hint kind of like cinnamon. The place is huge and has a beer garden and they a stage for bands. I'm giving the place three stars because they need a better menu and they need to get better pretzels for a beer place. read more

Yelp and I are usually so close in our ratings that I generally stir clear of anything 3-1/2 stars or less that I am unfamiliar with. Of course, there are always "exceptions," but most of them seem to disappear in the overall rating of a place. So, this is an odd one. I cannot believe the high number of 1- and 2-star ratings. Of course, as I'd expect, the 5's and 4's lead the pack here. But then there are more 2's than 3's and the number of 1's seems unusually high. Reading through the 2's and the 1's (even from elites), it's hard to understand where most of those are coming from (at least from my first-time experience here). Complaints about food, service, and value. I'm wondering if they went to the same location I did (or even the same planet). The food was great. I had a short rib sandwich, with a side of waffle fries, my wife, the pulled pork, and my son, a burger. We found all our dishes enjoyable, as well as the 2 appetizers (chicken wings and fried pickles) that we shared beforehand. Lisa, our server, could not have done a more excellent job, and the total cost ($110 pre-tip, including drinks) was well within the "good-bang-for-the-buck" category. We dined outside on Father's Day while listening to some enjoyable live music, and I found the whole experience quite charming. I'd never heard of this place before. Out of tradition, I guess, I generally pick the "new" restaurants in our family (except on Father's Day when they take a shot at it to surprise me). My wife found this one on Google. When we arrived and checked out the drink menu, I was surprised to see one of my favorite beers listed (I'm not much of a beer drinker, as I generally have wine with dinner; but I do have a few favorite beers I've discovered at Binny's over the years, including Prairie Path, which I never see listed at restaurants). The funny thing is that I didn't realize who even made Prairie Path (let alone that we were even dining at THE actual brewery who does) until I saw their exhibit on our way out. Then, suddenly, the "Two Brothers" (which I knew I knew from something and was bugging me all evening) suddenly made sense, duh. It was a real laugh out loud moment. Overall, great place (I'd give it a 4.6) which I hope to visit again soon. read more

Coming back here for the first time in 6 years was such a powerful sense of nostalgia, because this place has barely changed (and that's a cool thing). Staff is amazing as always, and the ambiance is always peak with the dancing bear tapestry, the massive windows overlooking the beautiful courtyard and gazebo, and the giant stone fireplaces. And of course, the beer!!! I am NOT a beer drinker any more, but I couldn't resist both the Prairie Path (which is gluten free!) and the Northwind Imperial Stout, the flavors and finish on both are immaculate. Right now they've got a seafood gumbo on the menu too that is delicious! If you live in the Aurora area and haven't been here yet, remedy that. And if you're a tourist staying in Aurora, don't sleep on this incredible experience. read more

Haven't been to this place since Walter Payton's name was on it. Everyone enjoyed their food. We really liked the cocktails. I ordered the "wings". They are actually thighs. We got them with the sauce on the side. They were so well spiced and the skin was real crispy. Our server gave us good opinions of the menu. The place was pretty busy but service didn't suffer for it. The only real complaint is the bathrooms were closed to be updated. They do have more bathrooms, they were just a longer walk. read more

I met up with a friend Saturday evening of 9/23/23to listen to the music venue. I sat at the indoor bar, ordered a beer and the appetizer Bruschetta. I was so disappointed with the Bruschetta, on my plate were 4 pieces of old/stale french bread (which i couldn't even bite threw) that was roughly 2" in height. The mango topping on the stale bread was ok so I just ate that. Their charge for 4 pieces of stale french bread was $13. I would give them a (-10) stars if i could. Have been here for Mother's Day brunch and had a great time. Noticed advertising for salsa night. So, I came to try it out. Dj hood, but there was no air conditioner nor were the fans working. I had not been here since attending a Yelp event a number of years ago. So, in this time of restrictions, masking, and social distancing, we headed out. We sat out on the patio. Tables were distanced, servers were wearing their masks, but there was some lovely shade and a slight breeze. There is a gazebo there for live entertainment and I would imagine it gets very loud. Two Brothers Roundhouse is a fun restaurant with a unique vibe. It is quite large with lots of different "settings" for seating. There is a private event space for parties and weddings, a large bar, and then a more tavern-like space- which is where we sat for this visit. It can get really busy here, so would suggest a reservation. Our server was very friendly and funny. I started with their seasonal Moscow mule and it was very tasty. Our group also chose 2 appetizers to start with- the garlic cheese curds and the cajun stuffed mushrooms. Both were great starters, but if I had to pick one to get again I'd go with the mushrooms. For my entree, I got the buffalo chicken wrap. It was absolutely delicious- and I would order it again in a heartbeat. For me, a person who is a bit spice-wimpy, it was right on the edge of too spicy for me- but it was worth it. The waffle fries were also a great side. I would absolutely go back to this restaurant- it is within walking distance from Paramount Theater as well if you are in the area for a show. Highly recommend! read more

We went here for a family birthday dinner, there were 7 of us in a quiet Sunday evening. The building is very cool being so historic and the atmosphere was very nice. The staff was very attentive and very professional. The menu is small, but does have some variety. My husband ordered the pork shank, which we were told was a new addition to the menu. It was very tender and flavorful. I had the filet, which was very disappointing. I ordered it medium rare which is the only way to order a filet, it came out medium well. It was seasoned nicely just overcooked. The mashed potatoes were delicious. We also had the chocolate cake for desert which was a very small slice for the price. We spent almost $100 for dinner for 2 and do not feel it was with the cost. read more

Second or third time here, food and service don't disappoint! Spinach cheese dip is incredible, if a bit pricey. Fried calamari was light and crisp, with a lovely aioli. My desk says Reuben was apparently great. Fun to sit outside with the 80's band to finish our drinks. Fun place for after events at Riverside Park. Will be back. 1/1/20 Update: Food was great as always. Server was ridiculously slow, neglectful and forgetful. It wasn't that busy so there was no excuse; she just kept disappearing. She left us for over 10 minutes just to think about drinks (we only had water), so when she finally came back, we told her we were going to the theater to alert her we didn't have all day. Then she forgot the coffees we ordered for 15 minutes while our appetizers came, so when she flirted by and we told her, it was another nearly 10 minutes for our cappuccinos (which were delicious.) We asked for spare plates so we could swap tastes of our entrees; we never got those either. By the time she came back to see if our entrees were okay, we had given up and used our dirty appetizer plates. Ended up taking 90 minutes for lunch. Just silly. The scallops with squash sauce were amazing. Duck breast was good but not a very generous portion for the price. The multi-cheese crostinis were very nice but small; the apple slaw was lovely. Good food and beer. The menu often changes, which can be nice for variety but bad if you really got attached to a dish they no longer serve. They offer bar food, but put a more creative spin on them. There's a coffee/cafe area, a bar area and a restaurant area. There's also a free arcade game machine near the bar area that can be pretty fun to play. Two Brothers Roundhouse is located next to the Aurora Metra Station. The parking lot is usually packed on the weekends. I've parked in the metra lot at night and on the weekends without paying, but haven't seen any official document that said you can do that.
