We just got to go yesterday from this place. We ordered two chocolate lava cakes and buffalo cauliflower wings. I mean the food was just okay - like the cake was more soufflé ish than cake and the cauliflower wings were partially undercooked and the buffalo sauce could be more. Thought when I went to pick up the food the ambiance seemed nice and fun so not sure if going in person we would eat other things would be nicer. My husband and I visited Pub 56 for the first time after a trip to the Aurora Outlet Mall. Since it was suggested based on location, we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, the dining room had a nice ambiance, and we were immediately seated at a booth. I started with a Blue Moon. For an appetizer, we shared the traditional single-size buffalo wings ($9), which were excellent. They had prominent grill marks, giving them a delicious smoky flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the Reuben sandwich ($13.50), but it was underwhelming. There was barely any corned beef between the bread, and it was a bit dry. I wouldn't order it again. However, I upgraded my side to the broccoli cheddar soup ($2.50), which was the right choice. It was thick, creamy, and exactly the texture I love in a soup. My husband ordered the beef brisket ($16.50), but our waitress mistakenly put it in as the Smoked Brisket Melt ($13). Since he doesn't eat bread, this was a big disappointment. There wasn't enough meat inside to make it worth keeping, so he had to wait a bit before he could inform the waitress of the mistake. She corrected it and apologized, and once my husband received the right dish, he enjoyed the brisket's flavor, but he still thought it was a bit small. He also ordered a Caesar salad as his side, which he liked. Service was a downside to our experience. Our waitress seemed to be having a bad day--she wasn't very friendly, and it took a long time for her to check on us, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The only time she seemed more engaged was after realizing her mistake with my husband's order. Additionally, it appeared she was sick, as she was coughing throughout our visit, which was concerning. Overall, our experience was decent, but nothing exceptional. The food had some highlights, but given the service and some of the inconsistencies, Pub 56 wouldn't be my first choice for a return visit. read more

It is a nice open space, great for a group of friends. Very sports oriented and a cool ceiling . Clean bathrooms are always a plus. Very welcoming bartender. Since it's my local neighborhood spot, I've become a regular takeout customer--and they never disappoint. My go-to is the BBQ burger--it's absolutely delicious! Depending on my mood, I'll switch it up with their traditional fries, sidewinder fries, or sometimes even onion rings (all of which are solid choices). They also have a really vast menu, and I've heard great things about their pizza, but I always find myself going back to my tried-and-true cheeseburger. I came here Christmas Eve with my fiancée and my parents. Our initial intention was a breakfast Cafe a few spots over, but they closed at noon. It was odd that most restaurants were closed that day (covid, staff, holiday budget?). I've never eaten inside here before, but I ordered Uber Eats back around 2020. This is a nice bar / restaurant the parking is convenient and free right in front of the door. The atmosphere is is very nice, it is always nicely decorated and clean. We were there with a group of 7 and Roman our server was outstanding at keeping up. Everyone at our table was served in a timely manner with all of our food being served exactly how we had ordered it. The day we were there the nachos were half off so we ordered nachos for each end of the table. The menu has some of the standard bar fare but also offers some unique and different types of dishes. The salads we very good with fresh ingredients and crisp greens. They offer fries, sidewinder fries, tots or waffle fries with their sandwiches. We ordered several of the dishes a little different than they were on the menu and it all came out perfect. I was there watching a baseball game and the bartender was rushing us to order, told me that if I drink fast that she would just bring me two drinks at a time because she didn't want to go into the kitchen every time I wanted a drink. The ambience was very hostile from the staff, no friendly faces just people trying to rush us out of there. When we got the tab she was rushing me to sign it so she can go home. 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 dessert and 2 entrees for under $50 before tax???? YES, PLEASE!!! Had a great experience for our first time at Pub 56. We were seated immediately, our waitress brought over menus right away and said she would give us a few minutes after telling about the specials. She checked back as we looked at their extensive bar menu, but not in a pushy kind of way. We decided on a 1/2 off glass of Sangria (which she graciously let me try a little sample first as I didn't want it if it was overly citrusy/dry and she wasn't sure on it) and a 2 Fools Cider Cherry Limeade 10oz. Both drinks were really good. The sangria was fruity, a little citrusy and a little sweet. They had 1/2 off wines, discounts on 23 oz beers and discounts on pasta entrees and this was on a Saturday, which I haven't experienced discounts on Saturdays too often. Hubby opted for their boneless wings in Kentucky Bourbon with bleu cheese. They were grilled, instead of breaded and the outer part of the chicken had a nice crisp char, it made them taste so good. The grilled chicken stir fry was a large bowl of veggies and chicken strips with enough teriyaki to coat every piece, but not overly saturated with a small bit of rice underneath. Lots of times you don't get a ton of veggies and chicken and a massive amount of rice, but this was not the case at all. Ended the meal with a La Fiesta shake which was a Smores style shake with cinnamon/vanilla ice cream topped with toasted marshmallows, a hershey mini bar and some graham crackers. It was to die for. The shake alone was $12, which goes to show how inexpensive everything else was. Service was fast and friendly, lots of TVS surrounding you from every angle. Sound level was not so loud that we couldn't have a conservation. I don't need to rank anything solely, as everything was a 5/5. We will definitely be back. read more

First time at Pub 56! They have a good selection of beers. Our server Andi was great, attentive but not over bearing. We went on a Tuesday and it's half price pizza and half off most beers on draft. It was a really good deal--ended up being just over $20 for a pizza and 4 pints. The pizza was neither of our favorites but for such a good deal and excellent service we will definitely go back and try something else--Andi recommended the corkscrew shrimp or the shrimp bowl, so possibly that next! read more

Service was unacceptably slow waiting an hour to get checks distributed after eating and also waiting longer than usual to get the food on the table. Partner and I had lunch here on a Tuesday. I ordered the fish and chips and he had the wings. The wings were a good size (sometimes you get little dinky ones but that wasn't the case here) and my partner seemed to enjoy them. My fish and chips were good - the fish itself looked like beefed up fish sticks, and one of them was extra greasy, but overall the taste was good. The batter was crispy, and the fish flaky. The restaurant itself is dark but expansive, with a lively atmosphere and plenty of seating. The service was friendly and quick - payment taken right at the table. First time eating here & I only tried it, because they sent me a welcome to the neighborhood gift certificate. I'm glad I came! The food was amazing, with a very nice atmosphere with lots of TVs & comfortable booths. & very nice high pub tables. I started with the chili and was so surprised! Ordered online for pickup. The ordering app has a section for customizing the burger (type of cheese, burger doneness). The selecting of other burger toppings is a section called "Burger No" and lists things like "Bun", "tomato" etc. selected what we did not want (grilled onions) and when added to order it showed up listing grilled onions (without a minus sign), the type of cheese, doneness....but none of the unselected "Burger No" items. Tried the opposite (selected what we did want) and it listed the cheese type, doneness, and the selected "Burger No" items desired (bun, tomato, pickles with again, no minus sign). Wanted to sub black bean patty for one burger (no black bean burger in the online ordering menu but one listed in the regular menu) so entered that in comments section. Order submitted, they call to say no black bean available (ok) and I mention the "Burger No" section confusion. They say its a new ordering system and they will look into it. I ask - " so we will get a bun and other stuff?" listed and told no problem. Get the order and ... burgers without buns, none of the other items ( whether checked or not) from the "Burger No" selections. The food itself was pretty blah. Side salad was small and dull, fries were few and not very good. If you have an ordering app perhaps you should test it before having customers use it. If a "Burger No" selection means subtract from the list of toppings then put a minus sign on the list and show the rest of them without one - especially if you list the other things on the list! read more

We are very disappointed with Pub 56. It used to be our go to spot but quality has drastically changed. Ordered pick up, got two sandwiches and an appetizer. The lettuce that came with our sandwiches was spoiled (see photo). The sandwiches didn't have any of the chipotle mayo on them, which made it really dry to eat. Had some of our own lettuce at our house and put that on our sandwiches. The shrimp also seemed over cooked/rough. The fries were also super undercooked/soggy. After a few bites, we decided to toss. 4 stars. My experience at Pub 56 was great. Located at the end of strip mall next to double yolk, gelato store, and Bikram Yoga. I've never been here before and it was my first time. This place has a good flow, it's way better than your average bar, clean, tons of flat screen tvs in every corner, nice ambience. Our waitress was on point and attentive. We tried the fried pickles, buffalo wings, jack Daniels bourbon chicken with rice pilaf and steam broccoli, chicken avocado melt and fries. (It would be nice if they had different options for the bread). We also had a couple drinks: blood orange mule and hibiscus mule. Everything was really good and made to order. The waiters/waitresses carry iPads around to make ordering easy and efficient. She was able to tell us on the spot when something was out which was great! Oh Pub 56, I didn't know it was you I was looking for. I was told to look for a bar in a strip mall between Eola and Farnsworth on the south side of Butterfield. Well it turns out that as far as I saw your the only bar in a strip mall between Eola and Farnsworth on the south side of Butterfield. Better directions would have been, go to Pub 56. Pub 56 according to the menu is a craft beer bar, with about 20 beers on tap, and even more in bottles, and a varied selection at that I was impressed. A menu of food that had me opting for the breakfast burger, which I've never had a burger with an egg atop it, suggested by the bartender Megan, was perfectly cooked. Tv's behind the bar, allowed us to watch highlights from a ball game and music played quietly just allowing one to hear the faint sound of music. I appreciate that the music wasn't so loud that I have to yell at the person I'm yelling at for them to hear me. If the music was a little louder that would have been ok too. The bartender was attentive, the food was good, and the drinks were as easy as finding this bar, the only bar in the area south of Butterfield between Eola and Farnsworth. Even if it's out of your way, I recommend Pub 56. read more

I don't find myself in this area often, but I had some errands to run for work and I was in the neighborhood for a day last week. I stopped here with a work buddy to grab lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. I had a burger, which was really good. Big and filling and cooked the way I asked. My friend had a chicken chipotle sandwich, which he said was very good. The service was super friendly. Nice atmosphere too. I love that they give you a $10 coupon for joining their email list, this is the main reason we decided to give this pub a try. To start we had the pretzels with cheese appetizer. So good! I like that it is pretzel balls. They were not dried out at all and tasted very fresh. The cheese was perfect with the pretzels. They have tons of sauces to choose from for their wings. Since most of us were getting wings I asked if they could give us a few sauces to try before we ordered our wings. They were very nice about it and gave us several to try. I ended up with the bourbon sauce. The boneless wings were delicious! My fiancé had the brisket pizza. It was very tasty and you can choose between a few sizes.
