Ok so i have a couple reviews of this establishment and I've been back several times in the last 8 months, I've try'd more things of the menu and honestly I'm always pleased, great burgers, beef stroganoff is awesome, Monday is $1.00 wings, very good ! And the bartenders do a damn good job, and are very personable , I've not had a single disappointment, prices r absolutely appropriate for the quality of food u get, it's now a GO TO PLACE for me and I believe they should do very well. Brought in a few of us to this kind of fancy Winfield sports bar. Cooper's Corner is kind of a mixture. It has TVs at the bar so you can watch games, but the food also can be upscale. Good place for those who can't decide. There's mostly Italian as well as things like steaks. A much fancier looking sports bar than it may appear. It's about the only business in the immediate area so it's easy to spot for sure. The bar area is the nicest area inside and you're still able to watch games on TV. Good drinks. It's about $13 for a martini. These are made the classic way. It's about $17 for a pasta entree. We got a couple of these. I got the Veggie Garlic Olive Oil Pasta Broccoli. This also has carrots, green peppers, onions, red peppers, yellow squash, and zucchini. Certainly a lot in it. The rest of the menu is kind of meaty, with steaks among the favorites of others. Chill atmosphere when there's not a big event. It's a pretty big building with lots of room inside. The menu has a good amount of things for meat eaters and some pastas for vegetarians. read more

The salmon mixed salad was great,and the server did a great job serving the flaming saganacki ... it was great! But the seafood pasta decidedly was not. The seafood must gave been left out too long, as it tasted like it had gone bad. The server took 50% off the bill for that, which was nice, but it meant we paid $12 for pasta and 2 pieces of seafood -- what was eaten before realizing it was all bad The vegetarian quesadilla also had issues. It was supposed to come with 2 types of cheese, mushrooms,onions, peppers, lettuce, and sour cream. I requested only one type of cheese since I'm trying to cut down on fat. What I got was a cheese quesadilla with only sour cream on a piece of lettuce. The server had checked back, asking if I wanted corn and black beans and I said Yes, but it was not delivered with ther meal until I asked for it, and the black beans were cold, fresh out of the frig. By then, I didn't bother asking for the mushrooms, onions, and peppers, which was a large part of why I'd ordered it. I wonder if the kitchen has been having other issues, as no one was sitting in one of the large dining rooms and Coopers always used to have lots of patrons, though this was on a Monday evening, probably a low night. First time customer. Stopped in Saturday evening....this place is huge! Clearly a very professional operation. We were seated immediately and presented with an extensive menu on tablets. Calamari $15 - Big portion, tender pieces of squid rings that is lightly breaded and crispy on the outside. Prime Rib $30 - Tasty and juicy, comes with soup or salad, your choice of potato, side of horseradish cream sauce, and steamed veggies (carrots and broccoli). The servers are lovely, the lady who came around to wish everyone a happy Easter was lovely, but the Easter Buffet was a complete and utter failure. The quality of the food was shockingly poor. We were so embarrassed we recommended this place to the rest of our party. Everyone left hungry. $35 per person plus an automatic 20 percent gratuity for a buffet was insane for what was offered . My husband and I just moved to Winfield and have been excited to try all the local restaurants. This weekend we had to try this place! The place is huge! They have a bar area where live music was happening. We definitely want to go back to experience that. Looked like everyone was having a great time! Our waiter, Andrew, was amazing. He was so nice, gave us great service and the food was really good. They also use tablets instead of paper menus which was cool to see! I ordered the blackened salmon which came with veggies and potato of choice. I went with the red potatoes. My husband ordered the fish fry with roasted red potatoes and a French onion soup. My vegetables did come a little cold, but the potatoes and fish were perfect temperature. The roasted red potatoes were absolutely delicious! I wouldn't say the blackened salmon blew me away, but it was very good. I'm used to blackened fish having a bit more seasoning on it which I feel would have really been great for this dish. But again, I was still satisfied with my meal. I felt the portion size and the price were very fair. My husband really enjoyed his fish. The tartar sauce they have here is very good. My husband also loved his French onion soup! A lot of places tend to make it on the sweeter side, and the French onion here had a very nice rich beef flavor which was delicious. It was also the perfect amount of cheese on it. The true star of our meal was the carrot cake!!! My goodness it was incredible!!!! It was so moist, had perfect sweetness, and the cream cheese frosting was one of the best!!! Can't wait to eat that again. We will definitely be back and excited to try more of the menu! read more

Sat night. Arrived about 4p. 2 of us had GREAT food, reasonable tab, unexpected Band was featured, later. We stayed for about an hour listening to the band. They were good.. Had things to do the next day, couldn't stay late. Really a nice bar. Service was above acceptable/friendly. Parking outstanding! Easy access. There was one woman, I'm gonna call a drunk @ the bar who was shit faced, laughing every 15 seconds, a laugh that could be heard through out the building. Distracting is a pleasant description, she drank enough beer to keep the place running for 2 weeks! Should have been cut off. Not sure why there wasn't more of an after work crowd when we arrived. We went to Cooper's Corner on Saturday night before Easter to see the Elvis tribute. We went with relatives who just moved to Winfield. The place was understandably packed on a holiday weekend. They have a large parking lot so we didn't have trouble finding a space. We had an advance reservation due to the show. There was no cover for the music, but a $15 minimum per person. We had stuffed mushrooms, oysters Rockefeller, Cobb salad & asparagus salad. The Cobb salad & mushrooms were better than expected, the oysters were a B & the asparagus salad was the least appealing. I've eaten here many times over the last 20 or so years, so I thought I'd finally leave a review. I tasted all the dishes of my party. I'd give a 4.5 star rating, but due to rounding I gave 5 stars. I've always enjoyed the music & dancing here, but if dining, try to request a table far from the music (it's loud) or come on a day with no live music. The decor & staff are warm and welcoming. The pear frozen margarita is a must-have! The salsa & chips was good. However there wasn't enough salsa and you are charged for refills. The cheese on the pizza does not taste like the high quality stuff I'm used to, but otherwise the pizza is acceptable. The carrot cake is heavenly. As is the chocolate cake. I did not enjoy the Reece's cheesecake. I'll opt for plain cheesecake in the future. The stroganoff was fine in the restaurant and reheated well at home. I think it was even better reheated than fresh. It could have used more sauce, though. The pepper steak was a tad spicy, but pleasantly so. It had a bright & sweet flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed. The amount of sauce was wonderfully plentiful. It was served with rice pilaf, but white rice would have been better. And it definitely needed more rice. The wedge salad was good. The onion soup was just as good re-heated as fresh in the restaurant. I'm very glad I requested no crouton for takeout. The spaghetti Bolognese was great! The garlic bread was a perfect accompaniment. The Steak Mediterranean was very tasty. NOTE: coupons are accepted 1 per table - not 1 per check! I'm here to tell you this fairly average but friendly local neighborhood place has a separate vegetarian section to their menu, which I was not expecting. This is a large place with multiple rooms, good for groups, and the service couldn't be friendlier. Parking's easy, though it's on Highway 38, so turning left out of the lot can be exciting. Separate checks aren't a problem (20% service charge for groups) and there's a discount for cash. The food itself is nothing to write home about, standard middle American, though it is a very large menu. They have four separate vegetarian pasta options plus cheese ravioli; a vegetable quesadilla; build-your-own-pizza and an Impossible burger. Gluten-free items are also listed. The online menu has a vegan section, though it includes a quesadilla and the alfredo pasta, so I'm not sure they understand what vegan means. In addition to iPad type menus, there was a menu with specials (pumpkin cheesecake; Oktoberfest). So if you're here with a group, you'll have plenty of options while your friends chow down on a meatloaf sandwich or whatever. We have had several good meals at this restaurant, and have given a positive review . However, we went there for the Thanksgiving buffet recently . It was disappointing to say the least. The drink were watery ; the food was cold, of low quality and expensive. A 20 percent tip for a buffet was required, but there was no real service. We were told when we arrived that our stay was to be timed for ninety minutes; no problem , we left in an hour. We do not recommend the Thanksgiving buffet. read more

I find the servers to be a little snooty and on the snarky side I saw a Father's Day buffet (if you will) advertised and I thought OK, I'll give them another shot. Let me start by saying there was hardly any anybody here ----it's Father's Day. that should've been my first indicator to probably jump shit before I even went in there Most places are jam-packed that should've been my first indicator that something was wrong on the reservation sheet, There was only maybe six names on it for the whole time. There were maybe four tables in the place with people "eating" We had already got our "food" at the buffet when we didn't even have any drinks or anybody come by that's one of my pet peeves eating a meal without anything to drink!! I can't stand that plus the "food" was ice cold And by ice cold, I mean short of it sitting outside in November it could not have been any colder the biscuits. I don't know if Chris Chelios was planning to make an appearance, but that could've been a hockey puck for a biscuit. I couldn't even cut it with the fork and knife?!?!? French toast Was hard and cold as I was watching everybody around me not getting their drinks refilled and not going up for another plate and at the cost per person of $19.99 you would think that people would be getting a little bit more "food" We quickly found out why not The bacon looked like it was barely cooked super fatty and it's really hard to eat when it's cold. I overheard the waitress at the other table saying an omelette was included. I don't like omelettes, however the other person in the party I think likes omelettes so when I asked the waitress about it, she goes and I quote--I already mentioned that to you and you said you didn't want one IN A SUPER RUDE CONDESCENDING TONE and I was like whoa Back way down very very, very ignorant. It's not like you could've been upset that you were busy because nobody was there. Well, let's get to the good part. Somebody was walking around and asking how everything was. I'm like you know what I'm going to tell the truth. I think it sucks, I think this "food" is a rip off. I think it's a rip off even being here. So as nice as humanly possible, I said all the food on the buffet is completely freezing cold, everything is rockhard and nothing tastes good or even visually appealing and she says oh I'm sorry I'll give you a discount. Well that's great. Why do these places when they put up a flyer there's no indication of a 20% automatic gratuity. First of all the server didn't really do anything we were getting our own food If you call it that Plus I got a real rude and snarky attitude and by time I got anything to drink we were ready to leave because we were disgusted. Nobody walked out looking very happy I'm just going to say that and I'm going to attach their Facebook post and nowhere Does it say there's an automatic gratuity?!? I don't know how they're the "best brunch spot" because I find that very hard to believe I have never seen a restaurant emptier than this on Father's Day, even including McDonald's or Taco Bell and that's not really a Father's Day go to Given the waitresses attitude alone turned me off and she comes over and put the bill down and says oh you got a discount on here so I asked stupidly what's the 20%? she says it's an automatic gratuity I felt like saying you don't even deserve it because your attitude sucks, then proceeded to follow us to the front register like we're thieves. I said the register is here. Is that not where I pay? she says "whatever" and turns and walks away I would rather sit outside and eat grass. At least I know it was fresh. I guess I should've looked at their health department score of 71 out of 100. I can see why the food is ice cold I can only imagine what's going on in the back not to mention I saw people (staff) eating right by where they were serving the food I don't even know how they can eat that garbage. It looked worse than dog food if that was the DuPage county health department walking in for an inspection I do believe they would have been shut down. I don't think that's allowed. Went there for Thanksgiving,food was good,service was good. Not happy about being charged 20% tip.When we had to get are own food from buffet, the waiter only brought our drinks. When I got the check it had 20% tip added and a total. But the bill that I was to sign showed the total with the tip as an option blank. I paid the 20% tip, though I didn't think that was right. In all fairness they should say up front they are charging a service fee not a tip. There were 6 of us there, the server asked if we wanted the bill split up, I said no since it was my family. Would have been a 5 Star.... Bussing staff way too eager to clean the table. You put your folk down they were there to take the plate even if you were not finished. (I would understand if they were busy with only 3 of 14 tables in the section were in use) Also, older red-headed waitress was arguing with the bussing staff on how to set a table, then continued to stop by to see if everything was OK. Our first visit to Cooper's Corner. We liked the menu on their website and also the recent reviews. We went for a very late Friday lunch or a very early Friday dinner, about 4pm. Our server was very nice. We ordered: 1. Hamburger with bacon - very good. Seasoned fries were delicious. 3. Chopped steak with mushrooms and brown gravy. Husband liked it and ate every last morsel on the plate. The entree with a small loaf of warm bread and a very nice side salad. 4. Short rib melt sandwich. The meat was very tender. I didn't care for the piece of arugula on top of the melted cheese. I recommend requesting "no arugula" if you order the sandwich. They have a very expansive menu.
