Very cute bakery - to be honest I came because I thought the name was adorable. Two fat cats, how can you resist? lol I've heard about this bakery because they were known for their pies, cakes, and other pastries. We stopped at this location to bring home two blueberry pies from our trip to Portland. We also got 2 drinks to go - please do NOT get the iced matcha latte from here! I don't know what I was thinking, but obviously this wouldn't be the place to get matcha. It was clumpy and they used culinary-grade so it just tasted bitter and odd. BUT ANYWAYS, the blueberry pies were DELICIOUS. The crust was flaky and the filling was not too sweet (a little tart) and was just the best blueberry pie I ever had. On our next trip to Portland, we will definitely be stopping by again to pick up another pie and try other ones! I had my eye on their quiche! The staff was also very welcoming and kind!

There was ample parking and the bakery itself was very nice with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was very nice. This was our first time ever going here and we only grabbed a few pastries to go. I was not overly impressed with any of the pastries some of them were dry, but maybe if we had had them warmed up and ate them there they would've been better. The whoopie pie was the only thing that was delicious. The other items were just ok. All of the breakfast sandwiches cooking smell delicious I wish we would've tried one of those.

One of my new favorites! Went at around 10am on a Saturday and there wasn't much of a wait for anything. A truly impressive selection of baked goods and homemade pies. I tried the Nutella breakfast pastry and blueberry scone. Both were so good. My friend ordered a lemon bar and pecan pie slice. Prices were fair overall. The millionaire bar hot coffee was delicious. Lots of good places to sit or do some work on your laptop. There was also a little shopping section that was well stocked with all the essentials. Parking was easy due to lots of street parking available and a little parking lot adjacent to the bakery.

We went to the new location of Two Fat Cats Bakery (at 175 State Street) three times before I felt comfortable writing a review. The new location is on the back side of what was formerly Mercy Hospital, next to Chocolats Passion and Maine Flavor ice cream. We easily parked in one of the spots in front of the bakery each time. The shop is brightly decorated; I really liked the yellow and green color palette, and the space is full of natural light. There was plenty of seating available, both small tables and a small sofa area in the corner. There is a cooler offering a small selection of specialty grocery items as well as small salads and pre-made foods. The problem was that each time I went, I felt like I didn't get the "true experience", or that it wouldn't be fair to write a review because they were still working the bugs out. The first time we were hoping to get sandwiches, but were told that although they are open until 4, the kitchen closed at 2, so no sandwiches. We tried to order a couple of iced chais and were told they were out. On another (this time morning) visit, we ordered and paid for two iced chais, and were called to the counter to say they only had enough chai for one, and needed to order something else for the other. The chai was homemade and spicy but also really gritty, consistent with the bottom of the container. Although they offer several non dairy milks, the food at Two Fat Cats isn't vegan friendly. We asked about vegan pastries and were told it is possible to order vegan pie at the other location, but it is sold by the whole pie. I might go back for a fourth visit and try a sandwich, but only if in the area. Hopefully things will improve after they get settled at this location.

Two Fat Cats' new location is wonderful! Although their pastries, pies, and other bites have always been top notch, my one complaint about their old space was always that it felt to-go-centric and outdated--not super welcoming (visually-speaking). Their new spot is in an amazing location that is bright and airy, has a mini grocery section, and sells savory bites like quiches as well as classic pies and themed cookies. The workers were sweethearts. Seems like a great place to study, catch up with friends, or take a brief Zoom call.

A fantastic new addition to the west end! This spot is perfect for a coffee and breakfast (think pie slices or quiche) or a casual lunch with options like BLTs and wraps. They also have unique coffee creations, like the "blueberry pie" and "brown sugar toastie" lattes. The spacious seating and laid-back atmosphere make it a great place to relax. I'll be back!

Perfect for a date night! Our server, Hannah, was great. She suggested an excellent bottle of wine that complimented all of our dishes. Customer service was a solid 10/5! This is a place to definitely add to your Portland dining list! To start, all of the dishes were wonderful portions and could easily be shared between two people. Which I absolutely love because I enjoy trying as many things as I possibly can! Arancini: This was a great starter. Absolutely delicious. I have yet to meet an arancini that I don't love. 5/5. Caesar Salad: A perfect dish that is light and necessary before getting into a heavy entree. The salad was crisp, delicious, very fresh, and a must order. 5/5. Scallop Risotto: This was a large position that had scallops in every bite! It wasn't too heavy, was not too salty, and you could taste the freshness in the ingredients. Dessert is not pictured, but it is worth ordering! The entire dessert menu was excellent!

The restaurant is very romantic - dark lighting, chandeliers, ornate china, candles, on a cobblestone street. Our reservation was at their large wrap-around bar in the front. The bar seats weren't the most comfortable - they have no backs and they are drilled in place; if ever returning, I'd book a table. I didn't realize they had a whole back room which has two levels of additional tables and lounge seating as well. Even though the bartenders were very busy preparing intricate cocktails, we still received wonderful service. Our bar seats gave us a view of the kitchen windows, so we were able to see all the dishes coming out which was helpful in informing our decisions. We had the whipped ricotta and arancini to start. The ricotta was a large portion and came with tall breadstick crackers - it was really good, same with the riceballs. For my main, I got the radiatori pasta. I enjoyed it and brought some back as leftovers. Lastly, we shared the blueberry tiramisu for dessert. By the time the meal ended, we were sickly full since everything was so good and we wanted to clear our plates. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or large groups.

The lemon sole (fish) and octopus carpaccio (not pictured) were filled with flavor! The pork belly was very underwhelming and I would not order again. The waiter said 2-4 plates per person. I recommend starting on the lower end and adding additional dishes based on how you're feeling. The amount of food was very different from dish to dish. For example the tuna dip had way too much bread and the pork belly was very small in size. Overall I was half impressed. I wish the staff would take a moment to announce the plate as it's placed next to you or point it out on the menu for those hard of hearing and wanting to know what they are about to enjoy. However the music, overall restaurant vibe and half the dishes exploding with flavor made my experience pleasant and I will return again knowing a bit more of what to expect and looking at photos of the menu/meal options beforehand.

I was on a waiting list for a reservation and I'm glad we were able to get one! Our server, Peter, was attentive, knew the menu forwards and backwards, and had excellent suggestions for us. 5/5. The food was the star of the show (obviously). 1/2 Dozen Oysters: We had to start our meal off right with fresh raw oysters. They had several varieties to choose from and asked them to surprise us. The 3 species they selected were excellent. 5/5. Endive & Stilton Salad: A long dinner always needs a salad. This one did not disappoint. It wasn't overly dressed, the endives were crispy and crunchy, and each bite was excellent. 5/5. Pan Roasted Halibut: I was thrown off when I saw there were hazelnuts in this dish. But we are nothing if not adventurous! This dish was INCREDIBLE. Wow. I still think about it over a month later. The hazelnuts were an odd pairing, but just made sense. The halibut had an excellent sear on it, and was not dry at all. Absolutely incredible. 5/5. Seared Scallops: Wow. Wow. Wow. Perfectly cooked scallops, kale, a flavorful, creamy sauce, delicious tomatoes... Wow. Bravo. The best dish of the evening! 5/5. Broccolini: We needed some greens, of course. Perfectly cooked broccolini with a nice crunch. Paired well with the scallops, but wasn't necessary. 5/5.

They were very busy and you need reservations, tables were full the whole time we were there. We shared everything we got to taste all. My thoughts... -The rolls were delicious and I wished I had gotten more of the bread services, loved they have different ones! -The salad, omg this might be my favorite salad ever, just perfect, it was salty and bursting with flavor, sharp, bright, crispy from the fried prosciutto very umami from the stilton cheese, just loved it! Could have licked the plate clean! -The grilled octopus just ok for me, it had too much sauce on it, like sitting in a sauce then covered with oil, I would have liked letting the octopus stand more on its own. - The scallops, it was good but I think i would have enjoyed it more with a thicker sauce for the corn mixture like blend some of the corn and i thought the peppers should have been roasted more, more char needed. Not to say that it was bad at all, just notes I would have liked to make it better. Desserts were delicious!
