There was ample parking and the bakery itself was very nice with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was very nice. This was our first time ever going here and we only grabbed a few pastries to go. I was not overly impressed with any of the pastries some of them were dry, but maybe if we had had them warmed up and ate them there they would've been better. The whoopie pie was the only thing that was delicious. The other items were just ok. All of the breakfast sandwiches cooking smell delicious I wish we would've tried one of those.

One of my new favorites! Went at around 10am on a Saturday and there wasn't much of a wait for anything. A truly impressive selection of baked goods and homemade pies. I tried the Nutella breakfast pastry and blueberry scone. Both were so good. My friend ordered a lemon bar and pecan pie slice. Prices were fair overall. The millionaire bar hot coffee was delicious. Lots of good places to sit or do some work on your laptop. There was also a little shopping section that was well stocked with all the essentials. Parking was easy due to lots of street parking available and a little parking lot adjacent to the bakery.

We went to the new location of Two Fat Cats Bakery (at 175 State Street) three times before I felt comfortable writing a review. The new location is on the back side of what was formerly Mercy Hospital, next to Chocolats Passion and Maine Flavor ice cream. We easily parked in one of the spots in front of the bakery each time. The shop is brightly decorated; I really liked the yellow and green color palette, and the space is full of natural light. There was plenty of seating available, both small tables and a small sofa area in the corner. There is a cooler offering a small selection of specialty grocery items as well as small salads and pre-made foods. The problem was that each time I went, I felt like I didn't get the "true experience", or that it wouldn't be fair to write a review because they were still working the bugs out. The first time we were hoping to get sandwiches, but were told that although they are open until 4, the kitchen closed at 2, so no sandwiches. We tried to order a couple of iced chais and were told they were out. On another (this time morning) visit, we ordered and paid for two iced chais, and were called to the counter to say they only had enough chai for one, and needed to order something else for the other. The chai was homemade and spicy but also really gritty, consistent with the bottom of the container. Although they offer several non dairy milks, the food at Two Fat Cats isn't vegan friendly. We asked about vegan pastries and were told it is possible to order vegan pie at the other location, but it is sold by the whole pie. I might go back for a fourth visit and try a sandwich, but only if in the area. Hopefully things will improve after they get settled at this location.

Two Fat Cats' new location is wonderful! Although their pastries, pies, and other bites have always been top notch, my one complaint about their old space was always that it felt to-go-centric and outdated--not super welcoming (visually-speaking). Their new spot is in an amazing location that is bright and airy, has a mini grocery section, and sells savory bites like quiches as well as classic pies and themed cookies. The workers were sweethearts. Seems like a great place to study, catch up with friends, or take a brief Zoom call.

A fantastic new addition to the west end! This spot is perfect for a coffee and breakfast (think pie slices or quiche) or a casual lunch with options like BLTs and wraps. They also have unique coffee creations, like the "blueberry pie" and "brown sugar toastie" lattes. The spacious seating and laid-back atmosphere make it a great place to relax. I'll be back!

The flavors were creative without being overcomplicated, and each dish had something that made it memorable. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance--lively but still intimate enough to enjoy conversation. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, with great recommendations that really elevated the meal. The lemon sole (fish) and octopus carpaccio (not pictured) were filled with flavor! The pork belly was very underwhelming and I would not order again. The waiter said 2-4 plates per person. I recommend starting on the lower end and adding additional dishes based on how you're feeling. The amount of food was very different from dish to dish. For example the tuna dip had way too much bread and the pork belly was very small in size. Overall I was half impressed. I wish the staff would take a moment to announce the plate as it's placed next to you or point it out on the menu for those hard of hearing and wanting to know what they are about to enjoy. However the music, overall restaurant vibe and half the dishes exploding with flavor made my experience pleasant and I will return again knowing a bit more of what to expect and looking at photos of the menu/meal options beforehand.

From the moment you arrive, you know you are walking into a quality restaurant. We sat at the bar, what a show! We got immediate attention, got our drink order right away, got to see everyone behind the bar work in harmony. We then ordered some oysters, watch out, they come to you, up front and close. They shuck them right in front of you, explain what they are and where they came from and leave you the condiments to enjoy. THE BEST OYSTERS I've had in my life and I've had them all over the world. Fresh, soft delicate goodness. After you are done, they send the ice and shells down a hole built in the bar! Genius! The tuna crudo was sooo good! It is made in front of you, carefully and artfully arranged on a plate. A masterpiece! The specials where then covered and today I wanted to have one of each is an understatement. We both had to order the brown butter halibut, good God that was so delicious. Insanely delicious! We were told that there is one chef that dedicates their time cooking this dish as well as the scallops. Can't beat that! My hubby ordered some rolls to "sop up" some of that brown butter goodness and he was not disappointed. Everyone was so happy, talkative, truly enjoying the evening. This waterfront place is a true masterpiece and classic beauty. Don't walk, run, and then book it twice at least while you are in Portland.
