9/21/2023 I called to see if they had tomato beef chow mein and they said yes! Nice.. I wanted something to accompany my soy glazed chicken dinner.. Little pricey, but the sauce and beef was spot on.. Noodles were really soft.. So glad to know they have this on their menu.. Will try something else next time..

I ordered from them for my graduation party. It was such an unnecessarily convoluted process. I was unable to order online as their website was not working. Ordering over the phone was difficult as they had just changed their payment system and it took multiple attempts to get them my card information. On the day of when my food was picked up my order was missing a tray of white rice and they refused to refund me for the error. The food itself was just fine and pretty small as far as proportions went relative to cost (~550$). It might be a better experience if you get a single order, but ultimately would not recommend for catering. Ps they snuck in a convenience fee that they did not advertise or tell me about prior to charging my card.

Pretty decent considering the area. Noodle texture was good but was a bit salty for my liking. Tomato beef was yummy and sauce was sweet. Beef with mushrooms and bamboo shoots wasn't bad either. Spareribs were more like riblets. The area has plenty of parking. Booths and tables for big and small parties. Good service although they made mistakes with our order.

Upon finding menus from this place displayed at the check-in counter of my Reno Hotel, I have to admit being intrigued just by the name. I have traveled to and around Reno for decades and have never heard of this place so I thought maybe, just maybe, Reno now had an awesome authentic Hong Kong style spot. (Spoiler alert: Reno does not.) I noted that there were a few fairly negative reviews of the spot with one commenting on the smell of raw sewage upon entry. I will admit that when I drove up, several of my instant cues of non-authenticity were triggered (such as an empty parking lot, large food pictures plastered in the window attempting to attract a non-existent audience, an empty restaurant, and 2 workers sitting in the dining room looking very bored). There was also a faintly feculent odor that was covered up by air freshener but it was short-lived once I walked in and I could not tell if it was coming from inside or outside of the restaurant. I pondered about whether to abandon the mission but the gravitational pull of the restaurant name promising Hong Kong cuisine was strong. And, since the 2 workers I first saw sitting in the place were Chinese, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and place an order for take-away. What should have really tipped me off that something was not right was that there was nothing vaguely resembling Hong Kong style food on the menu. The prices did seem to resemble full on capitalism as they were fairly expensive for such a small spot that looked like it was begging for business. Most items were north of $16 which was surprising to me as I expect that pricing to be in large expensive cities, not in cow towns. I asked for a few common authentic items such as Bitter Melon (fu qua) or Chicken and salted fish (hom yee) fried rice and was told that they did not have that and have never had them. They did, however, have very westernized items on the menu that would probably appeal to most people that don't know any better. The "2 Guys from Hong Kong" name, coupled with a lack of menu authenticity left me feeling bait and switch swindled. I was told that maybe they would have those menu items in the future but am doubtful of the sincerity of that statement. In the end, the food was about what you would expect in a very Americanized small Chinese restaurant in a city without a large Asian population. I would say that it is serviceable in the same way that Domino's is to an Italian seeking pizza. It will scratch the itch, but barely so.

Shopping in this strip mall at lunch time so decided to give it a try It was okay ... "nothing to write home about." Enjoyed my hot and sour soup. Honey shrimp had a creamy white sauce .. ok, but I'll not order it again My daughter had Spicy pork which she enjoyed after picking out half a plate of celery I'd go again if that's were a group wanted to go.

Had an early dinner with a friend visiting from San Diego. I had Mongolian beef and she had Lemon Chicken. We both had the dinner special which included appetizers and soup or salad. The staff was courteous and efficient. This restaurant is family owned and has been in business many years.

This is not Chinese fast food and it's not casual dining either. Walking into an empty restaurant post-covid is pretty standard with small restaurants these days,. It's just an adjustment I'm still getting used to. Anyways..... Small, clean, quiet with no fish tank in sight, I walk into 2 Guys From Hong Kong hoping for the best. Super pricey so I am optimistic about the future of my order. $13.00-$40.00 is the range for dinner combos. Upcharge applies for chow mein. My go-to chow fun is "up there" coming in at $13.95. I opt for the dinner combo A and an order of egg rolls. I hurry home and dig into a bland batch of fried rice that tastes like it's been sitting around since the Ming dynasty. The Kung Pao is lifeless. With the amount of chili's in the dish I thought it would bring some spice to the table. The chili's were stale, losing their spice forever.

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. Even though Kwok's is right across the street from where I live, this restaurant would be at the top of my list of "I would drive out of my way to eat here"

To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

This place really stands out for both the quality of the food and the authenticity of the flavors. The dishes taste fresh and homemade, with the kind of balance of spice, sweetness, and flavor you expect from real Thai cooking, not watered-down versions. The curries are rich and flavorful, the noodle dishes are excellent, and the spice levels are done right if you like authentic heat. Our waitress Nid was great, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and the service is friendly and welcoming. I then had to fight to flag a waitress to ask for chili paste to get any heat in my entire dish. I like that there are veggies with it and the noodles have a good chew, but I've found zero dishes with anything near Thai spices here My partner got the pad thai, which was sickly sweet yet didn't taste like tamarind, fish sauce nor contain pickled veg. The wood ear in it was excellent, but I've never seen it in pad thai. The thai ice tea was good, maybe a bit heavy on sweetener. I don't understand the high ratings here, based pireh on food. Thai Chili has far better flavors, and is rated lower. The wait staff/food runners lacked politeness, and never checked if we enjoyed our food or needed anyone. Sans the person filling everyone's water, we were never checked on in any other capacity. The restaurant was a cacophony of noise and conversation, I had to lean across the booth to have any chance of hearing my companion. The noise level is overwhelming if you have sensory issues at all. The decor is pretty cool.

Usually the ones I've had in Asia are very savory. I've even had zha jiang mian in Alameda, California, and that version was savory, not sweet at all. At one point my husband even wondered if they might have accidentally used sugar instead of salt. The mapo tofu was also a bit too sweet. The best one was the beef noodle soup. That was 7/10 it was my favorite out of all. In general, we didn't enjoy the food very much. The service was okay. I understand they were very busy, so it's understandable.
