    Cute menu display!
    Evelyn E.

The spot is a hidden gem. It's inside a neighborhood market. I didn't want to go to Noah's Bagels & Starbucks. So I yelped for the closest Lox Bagel... and I realized I've been meaning to go here! So I finally went here to get breakfast before running errands on 7/30/19 around 10:30am. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by every worker I encountered on my way to the back. Not only is everyone so friendly. The market is so clean and organized. You don't feel overwhelmed walking in and looking around. In the back, you have the cafe area with seating and ample room. This may be a great place to get some work done quietly. Although, I've just let the cat out of the bag on that Once I took in my options from the cute display order, I rang the service bell. I ordered two Deluxe Lox Bagels and a Chai Tea with Almond Milk. My food and drink was prepared in a timely manner. Just enough time for me look at their refrigerated section... and... OH MAN! I want to come back from lunch. Their salads look so fresh! There sandwiches are huge! Options are great for the price! Definite coming back to try more take and go meals! And to support the neighborhood market! ALSO, if you are a new momma! They have a MEET-Up available! How nice is that!!! Great way to build community... how can you not want to come here!

Take 'n bake veggie pot pie; prepared at home
    Ashley F.

This review would be 5 stars if I had only had the sandwich I came to TLG for. But, I decided to purchase the take-n-bake veggie pot pie and thus, this review has dropped to 3 (2.5, even) stars. Let's start with the sandwich: it was delicious! I ordered the custom grilled cheese which basically ended up being a fancy pesto chicken sammie. I got havarti cheese, country chicken, pesto, tomatoes and avocado on ciabatta bread. The only thing I will say is that the country chicken comes as a sort of chicken salad, with cranberries, celery and chicken cubes in a creamy sauce. It didn't bother me much but I could see someone being very opposed to this if they just thought country chicken meant rotisserie or baked chicken (like I did). Now the pot pie. Sigh. I got it for my fiancé but I ended up just eating it as he doesn't do anything overly creamy. That was not my issue. The packaging is very simple; the only instruction is '375' for 35 minutes'. But if you want the puff pastry to, in fact, puff, you need to remove the top and bake it separately. The taste was decent but there were SO MANY PEAS. I know that's a normal staple in pot pies but sheesh!! If you like peas, then this pot pie is for you:) All that aside, it's a cute place hidden in a market so you can peruse while you wait for your food. I would go back but I'd most likely never get anything from their take-n-bake freezer case, again.

Please look no further for your catering needs. I called the market hall to ask them for their catering services and they were not customer friendly at all. All I kept hearing was to check their website and decide. It was cold!!! On the contrary, the experience with Two Local Girls at Rocky's market, was absolutely delightful. They were warm friendly and were very good about giving recommendations and suggestions based on party size and the event. This is what I needed as opposed to the cold "check our website" treatment I got from market Hall. As for the food, every single dish was amazing. The turkey Cran sandwiches were scrumptious and they had so many wonderful options. Everyone at the event kept asking me where I had the food catered from. You cannot go wrong with the two local girls and Corinne please give them a shot and support our local business in the neighborhood. Ps: ignore the GOT theme;)

I'm in the process of moving and have been eating pretty badly did a quick search and this place came up. I got a small Kale salad and Chicken Pot pie and I'm completely satisfied and happy. I needed to eat clean and this hit the spot. I think I will add this place to my list of favorites.

Literally one of the best ham sandwiches I've ever had. 5 Yelp stars for this one
    Michael C.

Amazing local coffee / sandwich shop in a market. I arrived and they were giving out free coffee today so I indulged. Amazing iced latte (not that it's hard to go wrong) and I almost feel like going back and getting another. Definitely tomorrow! I also had a ham sammy which is insane. Granted I'm a little hungover so most things would be good, but this seriously amazing. Good size too. The staff and service was brilliant with everyone being super friendly. If you're looking for a good brunch / lunch, this is the place to go.

I recently developed an allergy to onion and, unfortunately, onion is the only ingredient not listed to remove on the Saint Francis sandwich (on their website). I decided to call to place a pickup order so I could mention the allergy. The man who picked up the phone refused to take an order insisting that I must place my order online. I explained there wasn't the option to remove the ingredient and was worried since I had an allergy. He argued that I was mistaken, and I could edit the order online or order a "build your own sandwich" (without acknowledging the additional cost for such a thing). I mentioned the inaccessibility of such a system and that I truly wasn't seeing the option to remove ingredients. He spent longer arguing with me over the phone than it would have been to take my order over the phone. Eventually, I relented, and placed an online order stating in the "notes to seller" (the only way to edit an order in this case) no onion on the Saint Francis sandwich. There was onion on my sandwich. Maybe instead of believing they need to be right, they should just listen to the customer and try to accommodate.

The first bite hits the same every single time--fresh, perfectly seasoned tuna with just the right texture, tucked into warm, crispy bread that's toasted to perfection. It's simple, but done so well that it feels like something new every time I eat it. There's something addictive about the balance--the crunch of the bread, the creaminess of the tuna, and that subtle flavor that keeps you coming back without ever getting tired of it. If you're into classic sandwiches done right, this is it. No hype needed. Just consistently great.

But I have to wax poetic for a minute: today I ate the very best pastrami I have ever had. I grew up on the East Coast (as did the proprietor) and I have easily eaten 500 reuben sandwiches in my life (because they are pretty much the very best). This pastrami is absurd. It is thin. It is tender. It is flavorful. It is meaty but not stringy or fatty. It is moist. It is a love letter. It is a sweet whisper. It is goodness through and through. Made into a reuben, this pastrami is divine. I believe the proprietor makes his own thousand island dressing and it is just right. The bread has been pressed and grilled, and is neither tough nor soggy. You taste and feel the cheese, but it does not overwhelm. In short, I am in heaven. The proprietor of Modigliani Café grew up in a family that worked with meat, and he won an award when he was quite young for curing bacon (you can see the certificate on the wall in the shop). So my suspicion is that this pastrami is his creation. And I bet that bacon was the best ever. Pay Modigliani Café a visit. Everything I've ever ordered was delicious. Bring cash because they don't take cards.

I usually order a #2, #7, and #13. It's very affordable, especially if you're on a strict budget for lunch. $7 sandwiches? I mean it's a pretty good deal. #2 Banh Mi Dac Biet/Special Combo Ham Sandwich - If you're looking for a cold italian sandwich but want to explore new options this is a vietnamese version that also has pate butter taking it to the next level. #7 Banh Mi Xiu Mai/Meat Ball & Egg Sandwich - An elevated version of the #3 with an added egg. This was my absolute favorite as a child and still is now. Nice balance of sweet and salty. The meat is tender and with the added egg yolk that pops when you take a bite takes it the next level. I think this is also slept on since I don't see many people ordering it. #13 Banh Mi Xa Xiu/BBQ Pork Sandwich - This is their secret weapon. My god the sweetness from the bbq pork with the pate butter is incredible. I always look forward to eating the bottom end of the sandwich because that's where most of the flavor and butter are hiding. The pickled veggies help give it the acidity it needs for a well balanced bite. By far my favorite. They also have many other options besides banh mi that make and sell on the day of like Banh Cuon, Che, Egg rolls, etc. Definitely give those a try especially the Mochi Ham sandwich aka Banh Day they got there too. I always have a hard time choosing between the #7 & # 13 so I always end up getting both. Service is straight forward, you line up, order, and wait for them to call you up for your order. Simple. You don't have to ask me twice if I want to grab some banh mi here. But do be aware that at certain hours of the day it can get very busy and crowded. Either to super early when opening or closer to closing about an hour before. For new comers, I highly recommend starting off with #7 or #13 for your introduction to their banh mi for a better first time experience.

This is the first place in the world that had me eating rye. I hate rye bread, and was worried because there are no substitutions, but the sandwiches here were so good and the bread didn't taste like the traditional prison food hard rye bread. You changed me Krispy Joe's, and had me eating stuff I never would have. Also, drinking stuff I never would have. I bought their chai and lemonade, both were 5 stars, and they offered me their pickle juice electrolyte drink to try. I was skeptical at first, but again they made me a believer. I hate pickle juice and pickle flavored anything in general. Yet, they converted me once again when they offered me a sample of their pickle-aid. It tasted like a mild tasting plain Gatorade. If I were still training for a marathon, I would totally buy this! Back to their amazing sandwiches. They are made with such care, dusting every sandwich that's made to order with their secret spices while toasting the meat and bread. The slaw was fresh and herbaceous. Again, made with care and craftsmanship. I am rooting for this business to expand and take over Ike's Sandwiches. I believe in you Krispy Joe's, you have my vote!

We waited in line for 30-40 minutes around 1 PM during peak lunch time, only to be told they were completely out of Dutch Crunch bread as soon as we got to the front to order. Fine, I picked a different bread and moved on. Then, while my boyfriend was ordering immediately after me, suddenly 3 Dutch Crunch rolls "appeared." I politely asked if my sandwich could be switched to Dutch Crunch and the employee flat-out said no. I then asked if they could at least remove one of my extra paid toppings to compensate for the inconvenience and was told no again. To make matters worse, we paid with gift cards. One worked, but the second wouldn't swipe because it was slightly dirty. We had the original purchase receipt with matching numbers proving the card was valid, but instead of helping us resolve it, the employee rudely told us we needed to "take better care of our gift cards." The entire interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude!!!!! Running out of bread is one thing, but refusing to help customers or offer any reasonable solution after a long wait is terrible customer service. They really went down hill. Barely any meat on the sandwich either and almost inedible sourdough that is so tough to chew. Save yourself the trouble and go a couple doors down to Tianis the original little Lucas owners!!!!!
