I can not say enough great things about Mario and his team! Our move was scheduled on what apparently what was an unseasonably hot spring day, coming in at 84 degrees. The unit we were moving to was outside on the 2nd floor. Despite this Mario and his team (I am so sad I didn't get their names) worked tirelessly not stopping for breaks and moved our many items up those stairs. They still took the time to ask where I wanted items and took care so none of my items were broken I can not say enough wonderful things about these men and their endurance. They took great care of our things, including a few very large, very heavy items (Indonesian hardwood bookshelves, anyone?) Not only were we done early, but the final billing was reduced as a result! I had some issues with the movers being late to start, missing for a duration between transport time and a simple move that was supposed to be 3-4 hours taking 9 hours! Further, I had issues with personal interactions of the driver/mover. I filed a complaint with the company and a claim for items damaged. After a period of time the company contacted me and we were able to come to mutual agreement and I was reimbursed a rational and fair to everyone (company/movers/myself) portion of the cost. Hired Two Men and a Moving Van to load my stuff in the storage locker into my trailer for my move.. There is a minimum 3 hour charge which was applied and asked for the rates upfront I called them one day ahead of the move and was very grateful and relieved that they were able to accommodate me at such short notice.. I requested a move and the response was fast and most of all the reviews were great, more so the office is located in Kent. We had a 8-9 mile moving distance to Kent. 3 guys came on time and promptly cellophane wrapped my king size adjustable bed, heavy dresser with Large mirror. Luggage, and everything else...OUT from 2nd floor, moved to ground floor made it quick and easy. Guys are friendly, and presentable, seems they love their job too. Luis is always smiling.. UPDATE (7/29): Paul's response to this review is not sincere. Just yesterday, I received an email offering me $200 in compensation after 6+ weeks of silence. I responded saying I won't accept this as it didn't even mention the damaged aircraft model, which cost more than $200 alone. Their response: "We can send a handy man and glue parts of the planes." Insulting! Why should I accept a glued together mahogany model from my C-17 pilot days as compensation for their gross negligence? Do NOT HIRE this company and beware of their so-called 5 star reviews. UPDATE: down to 1 star. The same day I posted this review, I was CHARGED for the $572.50 I had previously been refunded. STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Original review: I would not recommend Two Men and a Moving Van after four separate moves over the last two months. I can summarize into six key reasons: (1) Too costly for the quality of service. (2) Packers lack skill and good judgement on when to use extra care and when not to. (3) They can't accurately estimate. (4) They did not use an inventory system of any kind. (5) I had to pay for "insurance" to protect myself from damage to my shipment in case THEY were negligent. (6) They lost my trust. On the positive side, the movers were polite and generally were trying to do a good job. They made an effort to make corrections based on feedback from our first move (but their corrections were insufficient to change my opinion). (1) Costs. They are EXPENSIVE! Their hourly rate is just too high for the quality of service. The packers waste excessive time "protecting" items that do not need to be protected for a 30 mile move. Example: I watched a packer carefully wrap 15 year old wicker Tiki torches in bubble wrap. The cost for his time to wrap these torches was at least twice their value. I'd estimate they wasted 30-40% of their time over protecting items for such as short move. Finally, their system is setup to "pressure" you into tipping the movers at least 10%. We paid over $750 in tips just for our pack and move. (2) Packers lack skill. The packers who packed us did not use good judgement for deciding what items needed extra care and what items didn't. Example: I'm a retired C-17 pilot and had a mahogany model of a C-17 from my flying days. This model was literally thrown into a box with no wrapping and several heavy items on top of it. No surprise, it broke. As of this review, I have not yet been compensated for this item or any others I claimed and my most recent inquiry from two days ago has not been answered. We'll see. (3) Bad at estimating. Every one of their estimates was grossly wrong. We even had them estimate my move twice after my mom's move with them went over schedule. Their second estimate nearly doubled from their first estimate, and was still way below what it actually took them to pack and move. (4) Inventory. They did not use any form of inventory system. I've moved 20+ times in my life as a retired military guy and this is the very first company I've ever used that did nothing to inventory items. We would have no way to prove they lost something and they'd have no way to prove they didn't. (5) Insurance. Their "free" insurance will cover your damaged items (because of THEIR negligence) for 60 cents per pound. If they break your $3000, 100 pound TV, you will presumably get $60 back if you file a claim. If you want to be reimbursed for your actual damages, it will cost you. A lot. $560 for me (just for one of the moves covered in this review). They did not have a trustworthy valuation method and just about everything associated with this "plan" is suspect. At one point their office manager told me they never once had to pay a claim (because they never damage anything). I find this impossible to believe, which leads me to my fifth point. (6) Trust. Over the two-three months I worked with Two Men and a Moving Van they completely lost my trust. They contradicted themselves on several statements they made. Example: I was quoted a total cost for my move of $3482 to $4372 based on their initial estimate. I thought this was high, so I challenged it. The office manager came back and said "I can offer you that you won't pay more than we estimate at the most. So you know your maximum budget. If it will take less hours - then you win!". After their second estimate, their "fixed" price changed to $5100. The actual move cost (not including tips and insurance) was more than $5650. I complained and they refunded to get the cost of the (just) the move back to $5100 (UPDATE: they RE-CHARGED me for this refunded amount without authorization). This is one of many examples. Bottom line - find another moving company! read more

This was the worst experience with movers I have EVER had. In the past decade I have worked with five other moving companies and this was hands down an unimaginably poor experience. The movers were ill equipped and were sent with a truck that was far too small, despite me having told the company ahead of time that while, technically, I live in a one bedroom apartment, it is over 1000 square feet. They had tried to convince me that I only needed two movers and I was adamant I needed AT LEAST three. The truck was so small the movers needed to take two trips which extended our overall move by three hours and cost me about $700 extra. Even in those two trips they were unable to complete my move and left behind a fair amount of my belongings. The movers were unprepared to help with packing - which was a service I specifically requested in the booking process and was assured would be provided. The movers only showed up with three wardrobe boxes and three large cardboard boxes. They brought no other boxes, which made them unprepared to actually pack anything. They also did not have the metal bars required for any of the wardrobe boxes. They requested I run to uhaul to get more packing materials, which is hands down ridiculous given the high hourly cost for this company, over $230 per hour, and the aforementioned packing assistance assurance provided when I hired this company. Additionally, the workers did not complete the move. They did not have enough room in the moving truck and had to leave behind all of my wall art, several boxes, multiple electrical appliances, and the contents of an entire closet. This company woefully underprepared their employees and it resulted in me being fully charged for an incomplete move, as the movers themselves did not have time to do a third trip. To add insult to injury, the demeanor of one of the workers was openly frustrated, ill-humored, and contemptuous. This mover was incredibly rude and kept complaining about the job. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. The Two Men and and Moving Van company neglected to provide their workers with sufficient supplies and truck, yet I as the paying customer was left to hear lots of rude, abrasive and resentful commentary. During the move they also were a bit careless; they permanently scratched the floor of my apartment, scratched up some of the furniture, and shattered one of my lamps. Two hours into the job I called the Two Men and a Moving Van company and kindly requested to speak with management. The representative was sarcastic and unapologetic and I was told I'd "receive a call back from management within an hour" , but I never heard back. I called them multiple times, and left voicemails, but have yet to receive a call. Update: The company did call back finally and was willing to refund me for two hours of time (about $500). However, they did ask me to delete my review about my experience around six times. I told them I'm unwilling to delete an honest review. But I'm sure they've gotten other people to delete bad reviews, so I'd take their rating with a grain of salt. read more

I hate moving. My last job kept me moving all of the time; I am glad those days are over. Anyhow, I had to help my mom move into her new apartment, so we needed to find someone to help. I have had my bad share of movers and these guys were not one of them. Nevertheless, Two Men and a Moving Van did an outstanding job. They were scheduled between 8 and 10. They called at 0830 to ask if 0930 was good. They showed up, took a tour of the site and started immediately. They carefully packed and loaded everything as if it was their stuff. They were also quick getting everything loaded and unloaded and left me know when they were taking a break, so I would not get charged for it. We had a really good experience with Two Men and A Moving Van with our recent move. The communication with the company was great from the onset. They were upfront about the costs and gave me a fairly accurate estimate. Dan and Askar were assigned for our move. I have moved a fair number of times and Dan and Askar were by far the best movers we have worked with. They arrived on time and were extremely polite as well. They even had to deal with a issue with the garbage truck (no fault of theirs) but dealt with it with very professionally and didn't actually charge us for that portion of the time! They took great care with all our furniture and delicate items. Their dismantling and assembly services were also top grade! The next time I need to move; I won't look around, or price quote, I will simply call Two Men and A Moving Van. Sam and Bratan made short work of a large two piece sectional couch, a lot of large 30 gallon action packers and beds. Everything was professionally wrapped and carried, and then same went for transporting and unpacking at the new spot. Sam communicated with me ahead of time with plenty of notice, the guys were punctual and answered all the questions I had. Some side details: -My move was pretty straight forward and I had most of the items ready to go. -My quoted rate was 136/hr for 3 hour minimum. This was in line with other companies. I didn't use my full 3 hours but to me this was worth not having to hassle figuring out truck rentals, finding friends or family to help etc etc. -The 'Van' they showed up with with a large commercial truck (with a lift gate) that was more than enough room for everything I had. Overall: Moving sucks, and if you want to make it easy on yourself, and make the move a lot simpler, hire this company. Bonus if Sam and Bratan are the guys helping you out. The quoting and booking process couldn't have been easier - all online. Before the move, every few days I received a text to confirm move day was coming and what to do before the movers arrived. We had over 70 boxes and a few pieces of furniture. 3 men were quick to wrap anything that was fragile, load them up quickly but carefully, and drive them in their giant truck (great for anyone moving a ton of things) to our next destination. They climbed 3 flights of stairs (our apartment building has no elevator) with our belongings and even helped us put together some of the furniture at the very end. I am not one to write bad reviews but this has to be said about this company. I needed a move done from a one bedroom to a two bedroom (same amount of stuff) total drive time was 20 min to and from each. Movers showed up at the end of their hour window with two guys and one of them had to be barely eighteen. When I originally called the company they told me that they would be able to take my TV off the wall and take apart my bed. When the two of them got there I asked them if they could and they said no. So I went inside and was frustrated and my partner stopped me and went and asked himself. So now we have a 6"8 man asking and suddenly it's a yes.... So great. Now I know if I want anything from them my partner is going to have to hang around all day instead of working like he needs to. They moved incredibly slow.. I took apart my own bed, it ended with me throwing my king size mattress down my loft stairs after taking apart my bed and bringing down pieces of it myself to get them finally to be done. Two hours to load out a 900 sq ft apartment that was prepackaged, mostly wrapped and ready to go. When we got to the place my leasing office was gone so I figured out how to get everything done and then eventually got an elevator locked. I ended up helping them move things to and from the elevators and my partner met us there to basically sit in a chair and make sure they were doing their jobs. In the end It cost me almost $900...I could have done this move myself if with two friends in less time. I have moved countless times in my life and this was the worst experience of my entire life. The next day I started unwrapping things and realized how many of my things they had damaged and now here is where it gets interesting. I message them writing how terrible I found their service and how my items were damaged and I receive a text back basically saying here is what insurance covers but were willing to give you this much in a check form AFTER you write two good reviews about us on yelp and google, here is the link and then message us when done. Considering this is extortion and unethical my partner called to only be met with "we will have claims call you back." So here I am. There is photo proof of texts, items damaged to show you that maybe just maybe all those positive reviews were made because just like me people just wanted a little money back after getting their items damaged. This was my first time hiring movers and it was an ABSOLUTE GIFT. Not only was the company able to schedule me pretty last minute (about a week in advance of my move) but the folks who showed up and moved everything were delightful, helpful, friendly, and efficient. Angel, Luis, and Ambrosio did an incredible job wrapping and packing everything up with care so that all of our items made it over to the new place in perfect condition. We had some pretty heavy items that had to go up a two flights of stairs and they did it with ease and a smile. You can't put a price tag on movers, but this tag happened to be incredibly reasonable for the amount of stuff we had moving from a three bedroom apartment to a two story house.
