Great experience working with Professional, courteous and extremely economic option of moving our boxes. Loved the way 2-Men-and-a-crew make everything easy to understand about the process, it gives you sigh of relief knowing your stuff is in able and safe hands. We had about 300 Large boxes (50-70 lbs each) from storage to my home and it took them good 4 hours to load and unload with 2 trips in their 22 ft truck. Since I had originally requested for a 26 feet truck, they gave me the discount for additional transportation time. The crew took care of our belongings with utmost care and didn't waste a moment to move everything in time they originally estimated. Was going to give 1 star..... So I had scheduled a moving for 10 am, but received a message a day earlier saying that few of the movers were injured and they had to reschedule. I rescheduled my elevator and loading dock reservations for 2-6 pm. But early morning at 9 am, I receive a call from the movers that they will be at my residence in 20 mins for such we weren't ready. After a few calls with the manager, we confirmed that the movers will come at 2pm. Till 2pm I did not receive any calls from the movers. After a few calls they told me that their truck broke down and they would be delayed. Still no calls till 3:30pm. Finally at around 4 they informed me that the movers would be at my residence at 6pm. After a stressful afternoon of scrambling for elevator and loading dock reservations, the movers finally arrived at 6pm. I had reserved 2 movers and a truck for a minimum of 3 hours, but they came with 5 people and 2 trucks to ensure our moving was smooth. They were very skilled and super careful about all our items. Since we were downsizing, we had requested them to place a few items in storage on the same floor of our apartment and few in our apartment and they were understanding about all this. Completed the entire moving in 2hours 30 mins and 30 mins later, I'm having a pizza on my couch in my new home! Thanks to 2 Men and moving van!!! read more

The Movers couldn't even figure out how to put together a simple bed frame! Also, they scuffed the walls in my new apartment and dented my vintage globe, which has survived several moves cross-country unscathed...until this move. At one point the driver took of 20 minutes using the restroom! I was so angry, I was in tears. They accomplished a lot more in 3 hours than we would've (or would care to) across several days. We'd wholeheartedly recommend them to mitigate stress and remove frustration from your move experience, and want to describe the whole process and call out some specific key points as to why, in hopes this will help with YOUR decision: - We sent project quotes to 10 moving companies on Yelp. As we narrowed down the candidates, Two Men and a Moving Van was available on short notice and ready to help. Paul stood out because his replies took into specific questions we asked from the onset, and didn't feel like a generic autoreply that needed more prodding. Through back and forth messaging, Paul assuaged our concerns. - Next up was calling their office to talk to Elena, to formalize the booking details. She was thorough and methodical in walking through the process and pricing -- something that was consistently reiterated, which we appreciated, since hidden charges suck. Their billing structure is very fair. Anyway, we're generally well-organized, and in the best interest of setting expectations, we sent a webpage created with Notion that showed pics of the key items to be moved. - Oscar texted us shortly afterwards to coordinate further details, and when we asked him about leaving items in drawers to save time, he communicated with a very responsible answer regarding the possible risks and balances with that. We're doing a same-building move so it's not a huge distance, but nonetheless, the clarity was appreciated. - On the same day of the appointment, Russ and Dan reached out with a phone call, about half an hour before the appointment, to let us know they're on the way. Again, we emphasize: we've had spotty results with some home help before, where they weren't reliable about updates, showed up late, etc. But TMAAMV excelled across mediums: text messages, phone calls, and eventually as we'd find out, being in-person. - Russ and Dan met with us, wearing face masks in these COVID-19 times and observing proper protocols, and after lifting their tools off the van (yes, literally two men and a moving van), got to work. They have a tremendous synchronicity between them, multitasking on smaller pieces of furniture, or teaming up to move a bed and couch. They confirmed they'd done many jobs together, and it was poetry in motion watching them weave back and forth, around tight corners with their dollies, and using hands to prevent items from dropping as they loaded up stacks of storage containers and other boxes. - We placed Post-It notes in the new apartment to indicate which items go where. Russ and Dan studied the layout, and decided on a plan of attack to get everything progressively into our new home in an order that made the most sense. Our building doesn't have an elevator that can be locked off, so they had to be even more resourceful in leaving piles of items in front of the elevator, then bringing them up in batches. Each time they had a full load, they'd signal me that they're ready. - We also laid down door stoppers for unimpeded access. Russ and Dan literally rolled out a red carpet-looking mat (which was kind of symbolically cool) over our door frame, to ease wheeling in one thing after another. With some of the more ambiguous placements, they turned to us to confirm, and it felt really great to see the formerly-empty rooms becoming more and more of a home. - Russ and Dan went above-and-beyond when they noticed we had an IKEA drawer set that was falling apart due to wood pegs on the bottom being loose. Dan caught it in time on his dolly, and fixed it up as best he could. I emphasize, these guys were EXTREMELY careful with our stuff, using gentle but strong touches to maneuver, and they did not originate the problems with this drawer. So when it literally exploded and fell to pieces in the elevator, they approached it cooly and professionally, then moved on to the next thing. This was a really nice touch. Similar thing happened with a small cat house, and again, they drew our attention to our issue, recommended how to fix it for the longer-term, then moved on. - They also paid very close attention to subtleties with the furniture, given their prior experiences with similar types. They were quick to point out our sofa legs could be unscrewed to get through a door frame (I had forgotten about that), and chose the optimal vertical or horizontal arrangement to "Tetris" the most items in each elevator batch. - After all the key priority items were done, Russ and Dan turned their attention to a lot of loose items that we hadn't gotten to yet. Dan went to the van to get more vertical wardrobe boxes, and gathering all of these strays together was also really satisfying to watch. - We finally finished at exactly 3 hours on the dot. EDIT: The moving company has reached out to me and the claims department is working on my case. Will update here once the case is settled. Movers arrived on time and were super friendly. They didn't have power tools so they didn't want to disassemble any of our furniture. I do wonder why the company does not give its workers basic equipment like a power drill to disassemble furniture. This resulted in extra time being used as they were trying to figure out how to make everything fit in the truck. I ended up paying 1,100 USD for a move of a 2 bedroom apt to another one 18 minutes away with 3 movers, they got the job done but damaged quite a few of my furniture and it was very expensive. They had the shrink wrap and the moving blankets but they didn't shrink wrap everything and they didn't even use the moving blankets at all. They were also not good on team-work, they often had one guy carrying something very heavy and he would go banging everything along the way. I even had to chip-in and help them myself since sometimes they were carrying more than they could handle. Also, since they didn't disassemble the couch (remember, they didn't have power tools) they got it stuck halfway through the stairs at the destination and I had to go and get my power drill in order to disassemble the couch in the middle of the staircase. One of the movers also dropped 3 of our boxes while getting them up the stairs right after I had offered him help since it seemed he was carrying quite a bit. Fortunately, nothing broke. I did complain at the end for the damage to the furniture and they were very unapologetic trying to say the scratches were already there and that they don't protect everything in the interest of time. Still, after paying this much for a move I expected things to be done with minimal property damage. In the end they got the job done, but now I have quite a few nasty scratches and chips in my furniture. read more

Some of the pros - my old apartment made me move the timeline of my move by a day and they accommodated it. They also stayed until the job was done (11 hours), which was appreciated. Some of the cons - the person who originally took the reservation got none of the info correct (to address and from address). I called to have it corrected and the front desk person told me I must have told them my own address and phone number incorrectly (it was really wrong and there is no way that is true). I also think for two bedrooms it took a little longer than it should have. I felt like they took more breaks (including a lunch which they noted only took 10 minutes despite being 30 minutes away driving) and worked a bit slower than other movers I've had. I'm grateful for the work they did, so do not misconstrue this review and hence 4 stars. I just think management should probably budget in some breaks and not charge the client for those breaks. read more

It's my 2nd time using Two men and a moving van service. 1st time no issues at all, but that's like 2 years ago. But my most recent move made me regret why I chose this service. Several issues with the move and at times i felt they lack basic knowledge. 1. For example bedroom had both bed and a standing desk. They tried to move the standing desk 1st while they should have moved bed as that would have left more room for them to move the standing desk later. As a result there is a dent on the wall and part of the desk cut away. After I have called this out, they did add wrap to the desk. But the damage is already done. 2. Have 2 mattresses. The wrap they got only filled 1/4 th of one of the mattresses. That's it. Rest of the mattresses and the 2nd one not covered at all. Result ? Stains all over. 3. (2/4) dining chairs have scratches on the handles. I was not there watching everything, I could only see this after move is done. 4. At the destination, we asked them to wear shoe covers as we had carpet and do not want unwanted marks and dust. We got a rude reply here - "Contact my boss and we only do this way." Did i see that coming ? Can't they be more polite ? 5. To add insult to injury, movers used the tape i got at home for taping the things. Didn't even care to ask my permission. I just shut my mouth all along just not to get into argument. After seeing all these horrible things, i had to ask movers to unload most of the stuff in the garage as I cannot trust them to move things safely into my home. All the money paid just wasted. This is the least we expect from movers, be professional, courteous and move things safely and with covers over things (There are expensive things). Everything appeared to be going well, however the estimate increased for the travel distance (Seattle to Bellingham) as it was not a local move. That was fine, as it is understandable that longer distances should be more for gas and time. A few days later after figuring out my schedule, I confirmed the move out dates and made the $50 deposit. I received a phone call after that stating that someone had made a mistake and the cost to move would be significantly higher, after I had made multiple attempts to clarify the distance of the move, again, Seattle to Bellingham. The customer service was iffy at best initially, but after having two increases in pricing for the travel distance AFTER I had made a deposit I decided to cancel the whole process. You are right, there are 2 sides. You did not compensate us for the damaged fridge. You told us that is your policy, even though the movers broke your own policy when moving it. What was the dumb comment about emptying drawers? Everything was empty. The broken desk is about $1000 to replace, is $300 enough? We reluctantly accepted that money as you left us no reasonable alternative, but did promise further legal action. As far as what needed to be moved, we showed them what to movers. We only left a couple of wall hangings and a couple it's in the back yard. Had they not been moving in the dark and the one load as it was bid, it would not have been an issue. Long story short, your company over promised and under delivered. We were trying to be reasonable with our compensation request, but you were not. I guess making a buck is better than doing the right thing. Update, got a call out of the blue from the owner. Hiring movers doesn't come cheap! Once you get over that hurdle and decide to use a moving company, definitely look into Two Men and a Moving Van. Prices were very competitive and if you're really worried about going over budget, I was advised by a sales manager I could ask the movers to stick within a certain timeframe (at or above the minimum), and that they would use their best judgement in moving what they can in the time you specify. While yes they do include a travel fee, other movers I quoted had longer minimum time commitments at higher hourly rates, so it remained the best option for my situation. I didn't have to test this, as Maha and Nur made the assessment that they could complete moving the items I wished within the time frame I was targeting and they hit that time period right on the nose (not a minute more or less). I was also very impressed by both their autonomy and care in making the move, making fast judgement of how to best disassemble, wrap, and move both large and fragile items. The process was all fairly easy-I requested a quote through Yelp and was given information within minutes and even offered a discount. The move was scheduled for 8/28 between 8:00-10:00 but some movers were injured and they rescheduled for 3:00-5:00. Mario offered us a discount because of the change in plans and was very communicative throughout the process. The movers finished up with their move early and we're able to make it at 1:45. They took approximately 1 hour to load up my small one bedroom apartment-they were a little rough with the couch, but it was heavy as hell so I don't think they had much option. The whole move from Queen Anne(1 floor)-Kirkland (3 floors) took just under 3 hours. They did a great job wrapping up everything and took care with the items. In the past, I have had pretty troublesome moving experiences. So when I requested a quote for my most recent move, I was overly cautious and skeptical. Let me say, this company made the entire experience simple and easy. Attention to detail and customer satisfaction is HUGE. And they nailed it. 1. Booking. It was easy to book for our local Seattle to Bothell move through their website. One of their agents, Ron, called me on the phone to confirm. They offered a 5% special discount for booking and an additional 5% for cash. I only had to pay a $50 deposit upfront. 2. Up to the day of the move. In the 3-4 days leading up to the move, I received daily reminder emails about the move and helpful tips about how to best prepare for the move. Additionally, they contacted me a couple days early to ask me how many wardrobe boxes I needed (all free of charge, by the way). 3. Day of move. Ivan and Javier showed up on time in a well sized moving van. My wife and I decided we wanted to be as efficient as possible and optimize the work for the movers, so we boxed everything ourselves and kept all the boxes stacked in one room so it would be easier for them to move. They came in with two dollies and cleared out all the boxes in 30-45 min. They brought with them adequate blankets and wrap to safely transport our furniture. 4. Day of the move part 2. Considering the pandemic, Ivan and Javier wore their masks the entire time. They were very respectful of our space and safety. During the middle of the move, I received a call from one of the agents asking me how the move was going and if I was satisfied with the work so far. This kind of customer service is incredible. I appreciated his attention to detail, and the great effort he took to move everything carefully and quickly. Full Review: My girlfriend moved on Saturday, and both Makky and Dias arrived on time, within the given time frame. They provided wardrobe boxes, in order to quickly load clothes from the closet. They wrapped all the couches and bedding carefully, with both blankets and plastic wrap. Took apart the bed and put it back together in the new place. In the new place they laid blankets on the new carpets to avoid them getting dirty. My move was on Sunday, and Makky and his partner Din, again arrived on time within the given time frame. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reserve the elevator in my apartment, and the walk to the elevator was also longer, but they made it work and moved me out pretty quickly, all things considering. It was actually raining a little bit that day, but because of the way they wrapped everything, nothing got wet. Again using blankets and taking shoes off when moving about the apartment to avoid getting the carpet dirty. Overall, I would recommend Two Men and a Moving Van, as their estimate was pretty accurate, and they even provided a slight discount as a group rate. They were also pretty good with following up the day before, and asking for an inventory list to be better prepared. We have been through dozens of relocations, even moved country a few times, and this is the worst and most damaging experience we have ever had. The movers showed up with a team of two inexperienced young workers, without tools, which we had to lend in order to disassemble our furniture. We had to watch every move they made to avoid damages to furniture, walls, and floors, asking to manage things properly. Regardless, they made thousands of $$$ of damage to appliances, furniture, doors and the building, e.g. leaving marks on walls, wooden floor, and carpets, breaking a sliding door, a wall light, leaving marks on furniture and sofas, and so on. The company conveniently ignores these reports, they don't offer insurance (they conveniently forgot), and refuses to refund items by value, attempting to pay by weight, $0.60 per pound, which is ridiculously low compared to the market price to fix damages and replace broken items. read more

I told her all we had and she gave me an approximate that turned out to be totally accurate. Once I confirmed my move, I was able to upload pictures of my apartment and all I needed help with on the website. The day of, the movers were on time. Unfortunately I don't remember their names but the foreman was Sam. They were fast and careful with all my stuff. Wrapped everything nicely and used drag cloths so nothing got dirty. They disassembled and reassembled my furniture too. We were moving an hour away. We left at the same time and arrived like 15 minutes before them which I think is okay considering they were driving a truck full of stuff. They arranged our new place nicely. Just like we wanted. Nothing broke or got lost in the move. My husband and I work long hours and we really needed a reliable company to do the bulk of moving for us and they delivered. They charge per hour. There is a deposit for confirming the move, $50. they also have a flat travel time fee, $110. Their hourly rate is $189. I am definitely hoping to live at my current address for a while but if I ever need to move again. I am definitely using them. Definitely recommend! read more
