If you go here check your explanation of benefits from your insurance company to make sure you are not being overcharged! They like to over charge you during the day of service then refuse a refund for the difference once it goes through insurance. By contract through your insurance they are only allowed to charge you no more than what is on the explanation of benefits. The office manager is disorganized and doesn't know how to do her job. And their "corporate office" is a man's cell phone (630) 596-5018 who refuses to answer. Office staff is highly unprofessional. Not to mention my cavity fell out within one day of getting filled. My husband and I both had a horrible experience with a specific doctor in this organization whose name is DR. PATEL. Neither of us have ever had any problems with our teeth, not even cavities. During our first visit he diagnosed 5 cavities in my mouth and 2 cavities and a needed crown for my husband. Obviously it was a scam and we didn't need anything done. The bad news is that I trusted him and had all the work done in my mouth before asking for a second opinion. Now I regret it so much! Also, he is not friendly, he has no interest in his patients and it seems that he doesn't care at all, he just wants money!! The only thing positive about this experience was the dental hygienist Dianne, she is really nice and very thorough during the cleaning. read more

The dentist was good but the staff is horrible. I went for routine services, i.e. cleaning, exam, fillings, which were incorrectly billed causing my insurance company to deny the claim. When my insurance company asked them to resubmit the claim, they refused. Of course this costs me money out of pocket for something that should've been covered. When I told them I wanted my dental records because I was going to another dentist, I was questioned as to why. I thought the answer was pretty obvious. After letting them know the exact date and time I would pick up my records from their office, I still had to wait almost a half hour to get them. Yo make matters worst, the receptionist was rude when I asked how long I would have to wait. I shouldn't have to wait when so previously had given them notice of the time that i would pick them up. Please save yourself some time and money by choosing another dental office. Their service is subpar at best. read more

This place has improved since the first time I brought my daughter here for a cleaning. The front desk didn't have the best costumer service then but it has improved tremendously. All the assistants and dentists I have come across are very friendly and great with my daughter. read more

I had previously gone to another dentist who quoted me $8000 for all of my fillings and she thought I needed braces. I came to Two Rivers for a second opinion and was told I didn't need braces (I knew I didn't) and was quoted $2000 for my fillings. I was extremely nervous to have my fillings done and even rescheduled twice. I told Dr. Patel and the staff this and they were very understanding! Dr. Patel made sure to check with me every few minutes to make sure I was ok. Wonderful experience, I'm going back next week to have the rest of my fillings done. read more

The dentist I saw was very rough and did not explain anything. I had an annual cleaning which lasted a total of 10 minutes...if you know anything about the dental field you know that a GOOD cleaning should last much longer than that. The dentist seemed indifferent about my concerns and overall made me feel like another patient...she didn't seem to care. Not to mention she told me that I had several cavities, however luckily for me I got a second opinion and even a third and they couldn't seem to find these mysterious cavities. The dentist here is unethical, this is a very "money hungry" office (coming from someone who works in the dental field at an oral surgeons office for more than 6 years). Will never be back. Go spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

If you have medicaid, don't bother. You are treated like dirt. Went in for a wisdom tooth ( pain, impacted) It needs to be pulled. Said medicaid would take 2-4 weeks to approve. "V" who answered the phone was supposed to call me in a prescription for antibiotics. She forgot so the next day I had to call back and have the manager ( who is very nice ) do it. I call back in 4 weeks to see the status as I am still in pain and probably needed more antibiotic at that point . They tell me no, it really takes 6 weeks. They give me another prescription for antibiotics and tell me they will look into it for me & get back to me. In the meantime I have to go to urgent care because the infection & pain is horrendous. I call back on the six week mark, not only do they tell me they didn't inquire about my approval request on my behalf. They tell me I need to do so. I call the insurance place and they tell me that they denied my coverage 5 weeks ago & that they sent the office that information. I called the office & told them this and didn't even get an apology. I have to explain to the receptionist "V" five times that I had been denied, and because her listening skills are so phenomenal she kept saying "approved" and I was literally answering her back saying "denied." They let me sit here five weeks in pain. ( I'm a mom to five kids ) when they knew I was denied. I could've been seen somewhere else and had this resolved. Better yet, they should've better looked into my medicaid plan after my first visit and realized they don't take it. However, I can go see Dr.Patel at his other office in Addison and be approved. That makes no sense, but I blame that on the system, not the office. The office manager was sweet, but I feel because everytime I called I had to deal with "V" answering the phone - she doesn't follow up, there's no accountability, and you genuinely feel that she doesn't care. It's not my fault if the management system wasn't in place when I had my visit & that employees changed hands. ( That was one of the excuses. ) All I was looking for was an,"Oh, my gosh I"m so sorry. I don't know how this could've happened.) Maybe they could've taken five minutes to see where I could go in lieu of their mistake. They wouldn't even call the other office Dr. P works in for me because they say the offices aren't related in any way. It's just another place that Dr.Patel works. What ? How about righting the wrong and doing a kindness.. Can you even get the phone number ? Does the dentist even know what goes on at the front end ? Meanwhile, I have a raging infection in my face and now I have to start this all over again because of incompetence. read more

I went for a routine cleanup here. The hygienist was nice and personable. She cleaned my teeth quickly and I got to see the dentist rather fast who offered good advice on my molars and wisdom teeth. When my claim arrived from my insurance, I was surprised to see X-Rays on my EoB which was not done. I've been in there three times one for a cleaning, one extraction and this past Monday I went In with terrible tooth pain, turns out my tooth is infected, they prescribed t3s and amoxicillin, its currently Thursday of that same week I'm still In terrible pain. But here's the kicker I called yesterday to let them know about the pain and they just responded with "we'll call you, doctors are all busy" I said ok and all day I waited for that phone call... Never got it. I all back today to, just like yesterday morning let them know I'm still in pain. Same response. I use to be a patient at Two Rivers...for five years!!! There is absolutely no presence of patient care left! I can not recognize any staff members there, showed up for my appointment and my regular Doctor is not there, permanently! The lady told me my Dentist was not with the company and she did not know why they did not inform me of this before my appointment. I wanted some information on the Dentist that was going to see me and she told me she can not give any information out? I'm sorry but wanting to know how long a Dentist has been practicing is information that should be shared. I'm trusting someone with my oral health!!! The young lady would not listen to my oral healthcare concerns, she calls herself a manager? I'm not positive although I think this office may be under new management. If not new management, they have forgotten what an exceptable dental visit consists of. I was seated towards the back of the office and heard profanity in regards to a "TRD employee." What if i was a child sitting in the room listening to profanity from your back room? NOT TOLERABLE!!! I have never had such a bad experience at the dentist nor appointment I have had in my entire life! I've been going to this dental office for about 6 or 7 years. I will say for the first 4-5 years, I've had no problems. Staff was great and I loved our dental hygienist (Diane). All of a sudden, for the past year or so, my husband and I have had nothing but issues!!! First off, Diane is no longer there. I hope she got a job elsewhere, because she deserves way better than this place!! Second off, this place has the worst turn-over with dentists and dental hygienists. I feel like over the past year or so, every time I go in there, there is a different dentist because the one that helped me the last time left! Well....there's something fishy there! They can't keep a dentist and the dentists that they do get, are crap!!! So over the past two years, I've had two crowns put in. One was put in 2 years ago and one was just put in recently. I've had issue after issue with my one crown falling out. So the first time it happened (which was about 3 weeks after having it put in), I called to make an appointment to get it put back in. I was only allowed to make the appointment with the dentist that put my crown in to begin with. I was unable to get the first available appointment. So, I had to wait like 4 days to get the crown put back in, because another dentist couldn't do it! Really??? Why should I have to wait for my crown to be put back in, when your crappy dentist didn't do it right the first time? It was very uncomfortable and uncalled for. This same situation happened one other time. The receptionist said I couldn't come in right away because I had to wait for the dentist that originally helped me to look at it....well guess what? Your dentist turn-over is ridiculous....and the dentist that did it, no longer is there.....so now can another dentist please help me?? Gosh! So now I just had another crown put in. Everything went fine with Dr. Patel putting it in, however, I've been in pain from the crown for 2 1/2 weeks. I was unable to chew on the right side of my mouth, and I know that is not normal. I made an appointment to get it looked at. They took an x-ray and said that I did not have an infection. Then Dr. Patel said for me to "relax because it needs time to heal, like an open wound." RELAX? Really, did those words really come out of his mouth? I kindly said that my other crown I was able to eat with it right away and there was no pain. Dr Patel (A male dentist, whose name is not even posted on Two Rivers website) simply stated that each tooth is different and I would need to wait another 10 days. Um...OK. First of all,you could be nicer!!! Second of all, why did you take another x-ray? You had an x-ray from 2-weeks prior and you could have used that to look at and tell me to wait a few days. Also, you could have easily of said that over the phone. But besides the point, I don't think I should be in pain for weeks from the crown you put in, and then when I go in to have you look at it, you don't have to be rude to me! So basically.....I'm not going back. My husband is not going back either. I do not recommend anyone going here. The dentists are rude!!! The receptionists are aren't great, and I'm not a huge fan of the dental hygienists now either. I just cannot believe how they treat their patients in this facility!! read more

This office is very dirty, the dentist is rude, and they hygienist is lazy. There was no wrapping on the instruments to indicate sterilization. The dentist came in after x-rays were taken and poked around in my mouth and said that I was all finished. Another lazy girl came in and began to polish my teeth, when I asked who and when were my teeth going to be cleaned she said that the dentist had cleaned them. I said no, that was not a cleaning and her response was "oh, you want the hygienist". The hygienist cin and told me that she didn't have time that she had to leave for class. I told her that I could not come back, and she began to clean my teeth and was very rough. I ended the exam when she poked me and made me bleed, my mouth was sore for almost a week after this visit... I made a complaint with my insurance, hopefully they will be pulled from the preferred provider list. Anyone that experience this kind of service should report them. read more

Only go here if you like being in severe pain!!! I went here for what I was told would be a simple extraction. It turned into a 45 min ordeal. My jaw was pulled and the tooth cut into 2 pieces, the root into 4 pieces and after 10 days, the pain is still unbearable. When the dentist knew the procedure would be more than he could handle, he should have stopped there and referred me to an oral surgeon. When I asked if we should stop because I was in pain already, he told me no. After this it was not turning back. I was in so much pain that day, I could not sleep, eat, etc. I could not open my mouth . After the 5th day of being in pain, I called the dentist and advised that the pain was not better, he told me to come in. When I did, I asked if antibiotics were needed or maybe it was a dry socket, he told me no. I was sent away with more pain meds, because the previous ones were not working. I waited 4 more days and when I was still in pain. I decided to visit an oral surgeon at a different dentist office, who explained to me that I did need antibiotics which would help with the pain by getting rid of the bacteria that was sitting at the bottom of my empty tooth cavity and a gel for the dry socket. He actually listened to me. The dentist's at Two Rivers are very cocky and do not listen to their patients. This has been my worst experience with any dentist. I will never go back to Two Rivers and would suggest you do the same. read more

I had a tooth pulled by Dr. Xu on 7/14/16. I was under the impression that everything went really well. I did, however, have a small bump near the middle of the roof of my mouth after but I assumed it was from the pressure of the Novocaine needle. So, the healing process went fairly well but on 7/25/16, I felt something sharp coming out of the wound. Since I'm insane, I went in the bathroom to see what it was. After some maneuvering, I heard a *clink* in my sink and low and behold, a piece of my tooth that was supposed to have been removed fell out of that wound into the sink. I was so uncomfortable with it that I just tried to move on from it. Now, remember that bump on the roof of my mouth? Today is 9/6/16 and over the last few days, this bump has been protruding slightly more and feels very hard like a bone or tooth. So, I started scraping at it with my nail and low and behold, it pops out. Can you guess what it was?? Yes, ANOTHER broken piece from that SAME tooth that was removed. I was nervous about dentists to begin with, but this is along the lines of a horror story. I'm terrified to even go back and let them know what has happened. Have been patient there for several years when I needed an implant. Two Rivers scheduled me with their oral surgeon Dr. Sway. Was told that he likes to begin right away so be prepared. I have to premed for dental work so I did for our consult. At consult, Two Rivers computers were down so the new office manager hand wrote numbers on a page and said this was my payment. Dr. Sway extracted the tooth and put in the base. I paid $3956 and was told by office manager that if I overpaid she would reimburse me. Insurance statement came the next month and said Dr. Sway in not in plan so no payment. Two Rivers said "not their problem" and that there would be no refund of excess paid. So I was not only overcharged by Two Rivers but I still dont have an implant. read more

The worst of the worst !! Two crowns and both fell out within a month. Attempted to call to get resolved. First attempt could not even leave a message, box full. When I finally reached someone I was told that a manager would call me back. No one ever called back. Called several more times and was told manager is out on medical leave and a general manager would call me back. Again, no call back. Called again and asked 'who owns this joint and do they know how it is being run?' They would not give me any information. I was told that it is a corporation and someone would call me back. When I asked for contact information of the higher ups I was told that they can not give out this information. This is the first review that I have ever written so it is obviously an extreme situation. Last call they wanted to know if I wanted to make another appointment. I indicated that until i speak with someone with authority I never want to set foot in the place again. This is a medical/dental office not Walmart. I have never felt more disrespected as a consumer not to mention patient. If you ever need a dentist keepmasmfar away from Two Rivers Dental as you can get. read more

Worst dental experience ever in my life, and I have been to many. I went in to have a tooth pulled. Waited way too long in reception. Then when I got in the back, I waited another 30 mins before the dentist came in. He didn't fully numb me up to have 2 teeth extracted. I started screaming and crying in pain because it hurt, he had the nerve to yell at me and even though 1 tooth was half way out he told me if I didn't stop yelling and crying he would make me leave. He shot me a few more times with Novocain which didn't help because he never waited for it to take effect. They then made me stand there for 10 mins in the reception area crying waiting for a prescription. All the while I kept asking to make sure that it was safe since I was a nursing mom. Turns out, not so great when you are nursing and my poor baby had digestive issues for over a week. This dentist needs to have his teeth pulled out one by one with no Novocain. I would recommend you tie a string around your tooth and a door knob before ever setting foot into this office. read more

If I could rate this place a ZERO that's what I would do because that's what it IS!!!! I've had the same horrible experience and issues as others I see. First couple of years when Diane and Erin with red hair at the time, a few others back then that was there it was a delight to be there and they took care of business. Now with in the last year or 2 and presently, there has been nothing but pure laziness and the receptionists are extremely unprofessional. The receptionist are rude, and hung up on me, and don't take care of business at all. Also some of the dentist were not taking care of business and unprofessional. I removed my child from that place after being there so many years and a weight was immediately lifted. Where is now the atmosphere is so pleasant the dentist is Awesome and so professional I can tell she cares.
