Poor service by the wait staff. Food was ok but over priced. And the drink menu is bare bones for mixed drinks.

Great food and service. I used to drop by before the ownership change and it was just ok, but much better now. Nailed the German entrees and potato pancakes. As long as this family keeps running it how they do and making these meals we will gladly comes back. Good prices as well. read more

I'm pretty lenient when it comes to restaurants because I've been a server. It takes a lot for me to be mad. That being said, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We sat for about 15 minutes before being greeted. Our food took, and I'm not exaggerating, over an hour for 2 burgers. I ordered mine medium and it was completely over cooked. I tried to save it with ketchup but it was awful. Rock hard. Add to that the $13 price for a bad burger & handful of fries, and it's not worth it at all. It took another half an hour just to get our check. Everybody working seems like they're mad. Awful service. Terrible food. The only saving grace is the beer. Don't sit inside. I would absolutely avoid this place, and I'm honestly upset that we wasted a meal here on our short trip to Helen. read more

I had the sirloin special, requested medium. It came out more like beef jerky, overcooked and dry. I was charged full price for meal. When I asked the server about it he said he had told the manager and he said I would have to pay full price. Poor customer service, small servings and not very good food. We stopped here for lunch on our way into Helen. The menu is pretty overpriced, but we expected that in this tourist town. What we didn't expect was for my son's burger and my salad to come out before my husband and daughter's wings. We waited a polite 10 minutes before starting to eat, but after several times of being told the wings would be a few more minutes, we began eating. By the time the wings came out, 45 minutes had passed, my son and I were completely done with our meals, and the rest of our party were cranky and hangry. At least 3 tables came and went before their meals came. To add insult to injury, the wings were breaded even though it said naked on the menu and my son's plain burger came out with EXTRA cheese. No manager came to speak to us until we asked, after getting our FULL bill and barely an apology. Guess how long it took for a manager to come to our table? Another 10 minutes! The bill was finally comped, but they couldn't even find our ticket in the computer. We will not be returning, even after the apology. There are too many other choices of restaurants to take a risk on Two Tire Tavern again. read more

To keep it short before I go into detail, this is the absolute best place in Helen. The food was amazing. Definitely try the lemon pepper wings. They literally stand by their description as JUMBO wings. They were hot, crispy, large, and full of flavor. I don't even eat anything on a bone but I ordered these and was NOT disappointed. The fries, cheese curds, and mega pretzel is amazing as well. Although the bar selection is smaller than some, what they do have is really great. It's an amazing bar, great relaxed atmosphere, attentive/kind staff, and the owner is awesome! We also have NEVER had to wait for a table and we have gone only on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, if you feel their foot is expensive, I feel sorry for you. This is the best quality food for the price. Go get the 4 for 4 from Wendy's if you don't want quality food. Me and my husband stopped by here last year. The restaurant was under a different owner at the time who was also really kind. We loved the atmosphere and pretzel so much that when we came back to Helen this year, we stopped again. The first night during this visit, we went there just for drinks and a pretzel only to find out it had a new owner named Daniel. Daniel came out to the outside bar and spoken to us for a while. He really seemed to want to know his customers even though this is generally a tourist destination. On day 2, we spent some time at Paul's (with a lot of disappointment and overpriced items) watching the LSU game. After eating bad wings and was told about the price of their shots, we left during half time to come back to TTT. We finally tried the wings, burger with fries, another pretzel, cheese curds, and a few different beers. All of it was absolutely amazing and came out extremely fast. We also had an amazing server who we scared by asking to speak to Daniel again to let him know how wonderful his establishment is. Poor girl lol sorry again for the scare! You were phenomenal! Without any expectation, he gave my husband a beer on the house! Daniel and his staff have customers for life. We have never been treated so awesome by an establishment and it's definitely worth the 3 hour drive to get here. Me and my husband travel to destinations just for food. We are huge food critics. So for us to really enjoy every single plate that was delivered to us, it's big. I was also in customer service for several years and everyone, including the owner, offers the best service around. Whether you want a quick stop or a relaxing night at the bar, this place will do the trick. Horrible place, horrible food and horrible service. Server chose not to write down order for whatever reason and then messed up our orders (wow who would've guessed) and it took over 15 minutes after she dropped the food off so we could tell her it was wrong. Well, we had high hopes for this low place. We stopped for a beer and we're greeted by a woman who grunted a greeting that was barely intelligible. We sat down and waited and waited and waited... and waited to have a waitress come over to take our drink order. Said waitress then made herself scared for at least 20 mins as my beer sat on the bar waiting to be delivered to me. Finally, I Am Groot walked over and asked every other table if this was their beer. I spoke up and said that I believed said beer belonged to me and asked if it was the Spaten Oktoberfest. To which I Am Groot replied something that I believe was she had no idea. I thanked her for my warm and flat beer and proceeded to choke it down while we were regaled by the muse of horrible meth classic rock. Fortunately, the "band" finished its set and left; mind you, our waitress (not I Am Groot) completely forgot our existence. I finally was able to get a different waitress to summon our lost soul to bring me the check for a 6.50 beer. To which I gave her a 20 bill, expecting change (as I said please bring me the change). She disappeared with my money like a roofer on payday. She bopped in and out of the building multiple times and I had to call her back over and ask her for my change to which she seemed surprised and said she would get the change and then disappeared for another 15 mins. Overall okay food and friendly-ish service. We were told that our service dog was not allowed inside because the other customers don't like it. While this is a violation our civil rights protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act under the Department of Justice we chose to sit outside anyway. After we explained that a service animal is not a pet and was working they reluctantly offered to make an exception but we just sat outside (we had already been turned away from one restaurant). The manager on duty then pet our dog when he offered her water- which is generally frowned upon with working dog but he was trying to make up for it. The gesture was noted and appreciated. We had sandwiches that weren't bad. They were oily and we both left slightly queasy but nothing a beautiful hike in Georgia can't fix. It just was a disappointing start to a birthday. read more

We chose Two Tire Tavern because it was the closet restaurant to where we were parked. We sat outside, so I never saw the inside of the restaurant to review. The outside seating area is decent and simple. Our waitress was friendly. However, the food is really pricey! I got the wings appetizer and the wings were actually really good, but my fiancé got a club sandwich and it was the most bland sandwich we had ever tasted. Idk how it could taste like nothing, but it did. The food also took a while to come out and I'm not sure why because it was not busy. It wasn't a bad experience, but if I'm in the area again I probably would not choose to dine here. read more

If you're in Helen stay away from this place. We were here for Oktoberfest and they screwed up our entire order from start to finish. I ordered a burger which came out raw. I waited over 25 minutes for a replacement which came out plain with no fries or anything else. My mom finished her entire meal and I still don't have a replacement. read more

The onion rings are the best! Seriously. It's been two months since our visit and we still talk about them. I had the club sandwich and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent. This was an excellent spot for dinner! We stopped in a few weekends ago. The weather was perfect for outside dining and the live karaoke was good entertainment while able to social distance. We had several appetizers and drinks and they were all good. The kids had a great time too. I recently dined at this location. The food and service were were fine. The staff used Clover hand held point of sale device to expedite order entry and check out. When checking out, I was not presented a paper bill, which I now regret not requesting. The server told me the total, ran my card, and I tipped over 20% of the total bill. I worked as a server/ bartender for 10 years and I have never added gratuity without informing the customer it was added. Adding gratuity is common practice with large parties but with a 4 top, it wasn't expected. I've sent an email with my concerns but haven't received a response. Lessons learned to never assume the staff are honorable. read more

Me and my family are on vacation In Helen for thanksgiving and we found ourselves at two tire. We had a party of 13 and we were very cautious about that. We went up to the bar and asked the guy that was standing there about seating. Who turned out to be the self proclaimed owner. He turned us away by saying he was short staffed and to ask his servers that were no where to be found. My family and I visited Two Tire Tavern on our recent visit to Helen and i was a little skeptical because of how touristy Helen has become. I honestly hadn't had a good meal in Helen until i visited Two Tire Tavern. We were seated by the most adorable, kind waitress ever who paid extra attention to our little boy and brought him balloons and things to distract him with. She also recommended we get him the kids menu soft pretzel which was only 1 dollar and he DEVOURED it. I ordered the Knockwurst plate which came with fries and a pickle. I ordered it in sandwich from and not unlike my son, i also devoured this sandwich. It was SO good. the Knockwurst was juicy and cooked perfectly! My husband ordered their special which was nachos (it was cinco de mayo) and he asked for it with ground beef (which they confirmed they had) but when he got it, there was no beef on it. He still really liked it and ate it all up but wished there were beef on it. The prices were reasonable the outside seating was really nice and the staff was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back to Two Tire Tavern when we come back to Helen! read more

Took an hour for food and wasn't very busy. Sausages were cold. Daughters soup was spilled out of the bowl into the tray before being served. Hamburger was ordered medium well and had lots of pink. No one got their food at the same time. Son's simple club sandwich was the very last to be served after everyone else had eaten. Flatbread pizza was good. Well to start in side is full !! Cause too small and me and my wife sat out side and suffered the smoking !!!! We ordered the Rubens and they had no sauerkraut or thousands island dressing!! My wife plate had 4 fries on it!! So I would say not a great place to visit!! Plus for the disasters of food the bill was $34 for two sandwiches that were wrong and two pibbs!!! read more
