I was passing by this place many times since I moved to Pasadena, but never got a chance to dine here. Gave it a try tonight and was not disappointed! Although it was a longer than 15 promised minutes wait time before we got inside, it definitely worth it! Amazing service, relatively quick and delicious food. The interior and overall atmosphere is very 50s style, even some guests seemed to be dressed up for the theme. Loved everything, especially their signature sundaes, will be coming back fir more.

I had a great experience at Twoheys Restaurant and would absolutely give it 5 stars. Our group loved the vibe right when we walked in. It felt lively, welcoming, and like the kind of place you want to hang out and enjoy good food with friends. Our table ordered a little bit of everything. We had the fried chicken, burgers, calamari, spaghetti with meatballs, and a salad. Every single dish hit the spot. You could tell everything was fresh and made with care. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful, the burgers were juicy, and the spaghetti with meatballs tasted classic and comforting. The service was efficient and friendly, which made the experience even better. We came during happy hour and were able to grab drinks and an appetizer at really good prices. We are from Northern California and honestly wish we had a place like this back home. This is definitely a spot to remember and return to the next time we are in the LA area. Highly recommend.

I was very impressed with the new Twoheys. They were in Alhambra for many years and moved to this location in 2020 when the former Carmine's Italian restaurant closed. They created a new and amazing look that is very bright and welcoming. The service was great! My server, Aaron, was very pleasant and accommodating. I had the Turkey California Club sandwich with French fries and the sandwich was very tasty. The waiter told me if I didn't want the third bread I could request the sandwich without it. Tip for anyone who orders this sandwich and doesn't want the extra bread. The fruit was fresh and somewhat sweet. They are closed on Tuesdays so keep that in mind if you choose to go.

Twohey's is a cozy hometown diner that is always amazing. They have a wide variety of delicious comfort food. This time when I went I wanted breakfast for dinner and sure enough they had it. (See attached omelette picture.) All of the staff, from servers to management, are pleasant and helpful. One time a manager walked by and saw my young granddaughter was with me and brought her some chicken noodle soup because that's what she always served her young grandchildren. Another thing I really appreciate is if there is an issue, they will make sure it is resolved immediately. Twohey's is a favorite go-to for our family!!

I'm no stranger to Twohey's; I'm a little surprised I haven't reviewed them before. I used to go to the old location where In-N-Out is now, I vaguely recall that location was either a renovation or relocation. I've visited the newest location in South Pasadena the most; it's in a building that has gone through several iterations. When they moved to SoPas, Twohey's gained a full bar and bar area separate from the restaurant, plus a large outdoor dining area. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus cocktails and a Happy Hour menu. They are well-known for their soda fountain and desserts. I visited recently for a late breakfast, which they serve until 3 pm. Twohey's may become the prime SoPas breakfast spot soon, what with nearby Shakers unfortunately scheduled to close soon. Twohey's was having a Lobster Fest, with several lobster specials. I ordered the lobster omelet, which also contained shrimp, tomatoes, spinach, capers and a cream sauce. These ingredients were also available as a pasta dish. The omelet was fine, as were the hash browns, which were suitably crispy. There was only one slice of sourdough toast, but it was thick. I also ordered a side of onion rings, which they are known for. They are fresh and delish, not prefab. One of the better deals here is to order a sandwich or burger and make it a ring combo, so it comes with your original side choice PLUS onion rings for half the price of an a la carte order of rings. I also like their slushy drinks, which can contain alcohol. I like the non-alcoholic strawberry limeade. As mentioned before, their soda fountain items are old-school and yummy. A milkshake of course comes with the metal container it was made in. More than a few diners come here for especially for dessert. A classic, similar to but different from Shakers. I like them both.

It's been a minute we have not been here and I know they had St. Paddy's traditional course of corn beef & cabbage. Plus first my lady having this course and she love it as we were seated outside the front patio in the shade was perfect. Total price with fruit ice tea hit the spot around $70 and our waiter was awesome . The service is was excellent too.

I have been here twice. If I had to choose a favorite, it will be their buttermilk pancakes!! ‍ They are not very thick but they are so buttery and soft. Spread some butter and syrup on them and it's the best combo! It is a very busy and noisy place, but the staff is very attentive, friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have about their menu. It gets VERY busy during brunch time, and parking is a bit difficult to find, waiting time for us was about 30 min the first time. The second time we got there around 2p and didn't have to wait to be seated. Breakfast is served until 3p. Overall definitely recommend!

Went back to one of my old standby's just for a quick snack dessert and coffee. I had been craving the milk chocolate hot fudge sundae that only Twohey's makes in this area and a coffee to go with it. Greeted by the sweetest hostess and sitting at Frida's table made the trip perfection! While I was there I decided to have some onion rings to go with the dessert because I was a little hungry also. The Onion Rings were THE BEST because they are made from real, thick onions where you can actually taste the flavor of the onion and not just a mouthful of crusted batter! The Sundae, oh the Sundae, always has been the best with their real vanilla ice cream, real milk chocolate hot fudge (NOT Hershey's syrup), and of course the homemade whipped cream that is the perfect addition. Top it off with some almonds and a cherry, immaculate!! Nothing better! Though I didn't eat a real meal, from eating there my whole life, I can tell you their meals and burgers and other appetizers and side are just as bomb as my little snacks! Get out and enjoy this SGV Legend as soon as possible and break that stupid resolution (if you haven't already)!!

Totally great experience. Our server was there and attentive - we didn't have to ask for anything like refills, they just showed up My Cobb Salad was very fresh, crispy lettuce, radishes, avocado ... and loved the Ranch Dressing. Another "home run" was the zucchini bread that came with the salad. Moist and SOOO nicely herbed and spiced. Bought a loaf to take home (pricey but you only live once) and know the family will enjoy as part of Thanksgiving. This was a pleasant "experience". The place has a very retro feel and was fun to dine at

The restaurant service and meal were fantastic. The food was hot and delicious. I had a South Pasadena omelette. The cinnamon roll was to die for. Warm and gooey and fresh ! Jennifer was amazing . Couldn't ask for better service

We ordered a few things here. Breakfast was typical from a diner standpoint. The food was great in flavor, pancakes were nice and fluffy. The s'mores pancakes were pretty good. Chocolatey and delicious. My bacon was a bit too crisp. I like crispy but I also like to bite into the meat if that makes any sense? Service was friendly. Didn't wait too long on a Sunday morning to get seated for a family of 5.

All you can eat ribs on Friday.

Same old Twohey's. Food was fresh and tasty. Cost have definitely increased here just like everything and everyone else around. Service still hasn't improved and zero personality to warrant these prices. And for the management. Try saying hello to tables? Ambiance is cleaner than most restaurants and that's a plus. Long time restaurant Shakers down the street closing so maybe they can hire happy people from there? Recommend when other options aren't available.

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. Was the perfect spot for a lively date night!

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

Our drink order consisted of Don't Be a Prick, Moon Rocks, & Purple Peter Eater. Lou was kind enough to create a lovely mocktail for Ms. Hannah. The Purple Peter Eater is a picturesque drink that combines rum with Ube beer and gets its pretty hue from Ube Syrup. The Moon Rocks had a bit of a kick and is a tad on the sweet side. We came in around 6:30. They had just opened but the atmosphere was ready! Dark and moody with candles on the table, it was the perfect spot to grab a drink and catch up. Jeremy was our bartender and he was fantastic. Super chill and friendly and made us some amazing drinks based on a few preferences. Our "bartenders choice" drinks were amazing, so much so that our "drink to end the night" turned into two drinks and some appetizers. We ordered taquitos and mozzarella sticks. Overall all three of us ladies loved this place! We definitely plan to be back! Let Jeremy make you a drink - you won't regret it. He makes them custom for you and he definitely knows what he is doing. *they do ask for a password which you can request on their website... but I would do that 24-48 hours before you plan to visit. We didn't have that days password and simply asked the front door.

You will need to reach out to the bar via email to get the password, but you can also get a hint from the person at the front. We got our hint and successfully guessed it, gaining entry. The interior has dark lounge lighting with tables throughout. I got the gotham standard manhattan ($16) which was strong and spirit forward. We came right when they opened so it was very empty, but the bartender mentioned it gets really packed and lively on weekends. If I came back and was able to guess the password I'd stop by when it's more energetic for a different vibe.

Grandma's Purse, which features miso-infused Suntory, butterscotch, and 5 spice, was surprisingly savory and not sweet. On the other hand, Wabbit Season, which features carrot, cumin and celery among its ingredients, was surprisingly sweet. Go figure. I enjoyed the novelty of those drinks but I probably would not get them again. I would be interested in trying out some of their other cocktails though.

My husband and I recently tried their grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, too, which we really enjoyed. Very filling. Their cocktail program has some unique flavors, which isn't always my thing. But everything I've had has been outstanding, even their mocktails. I really liked one of the new ones I had recently, which was called something like Grandma's House? I can't remember, but it was spiced and had a star anise as garnish. A bit on the pricier side, but probably because they use premium ingredients and such unique flavors combos. Love the neighborhood bar vibe. It's a welcoming little oasis in the urban jungle of Highland Park.

Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

They serve lukewarm water and the a/c was on but was not on ..if u catch my drift. The front hostess was also phenomenal, I had reservation for outdoor seating but since she saw that the sun was like glaring, she asked if I wanted to change to inside. Very obliging and accommodating. Food: 5 stars, surprisingly good, right amount for us. I was full but I can see where other reviewers say portions are small. It's small if u're a heavy eater. But the quality is definitely there. Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

This was after he had come to see if we had paid the bill twice already. I felt rushed and even Bavel in downtown has a 2.5 hour time at their prime dinner time on weekends. It's embarrassing especially when you are dining with friends from Europe! Arhhh. Note that they do add a 6 percent surcharge on the bill which is not included in the tip. I'm glad I came here but I won't be back as it's only if you are in a rush and love having dinner in under 1.5 hours with friends. If you are like me and enjoy having food in a social setting and take your time, this isn't the place for you.
