Excellent hamburger and onion rings! Service was fast and food was hot. Wish it was closer to home. Place was clean also.

Ordered burgers for four of us today. They just weren't any good, plain and simple and this is a hamburger place. The mayo on mine was some kind of spread and not real mayo. One of our burgers came with no lettuce tomato onion and I know it was ordered. Onion rings were obviously frozen , heat and eat and were very greasy. Food is solid for a burger! Customer serves can kick rocks. I had called for a Togo order...no answer...drove into the drive thru..no response for 10 minutes. Decided to walk in and order with my dog..who is in fact a service dog. I Immediately got questioned and I assured she was..want papers? Ask. Don't talk behind the counter. Everyone can hear you. The Good: The fries were fresh and crispy. And the place seemed clean, the yound man wiping tables was also wiping the seats, good on him for that!! Sadly, that's all I've got for this category The Bad: Customer service started poorly but got better as the ordering process went on. At first the young lady walked up the register and didn't say a word. Not "Hello". Not "May I take your order?". Nothing but a blank stare. As the ordering process went she became more helpful and asked all the right questions. The Meh: The burger patties were precooked and warmed over, dry as a board and marginally warm, the cheese barely melted. I suspect, since lots of reviews raise Hell about them being slow, someone decided that pre-cooking the meat was a good idea. It's not. Texas Burger is going to eliminate items from their menu. Sweet potato fries, tater tots and the Maverick burger. Corporate decision made because these items are not in high demand and will make preparation easier for the restaurant, less options to prepare. Suggest boycotting this establishment and look for another option. Sad that different options and selections are not part of corporate plans. read more

Don't waste your money. The people working here are a little slow. First, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo. I was quite surprised when the amount came out to $13 and, normally, I don't ask for a receipt but did since I was wondering how it came out to that amount. Turned out, I ordered a DOUBLE bacon cheeseburger. I was never asked whether or not I wanted seasoned fries (I don't like seasoned fries) and my order wasn't read back to me. So after looking at the receipt, I went up to ask if they could change that to regular fries. I had my order card with me (#4) and the lady at the front asked what order it was--I point to my card and said #4. The lady in the back said there was no #4. The lady in the front said, we don't have that order, to which I asked wtf am I holding then??? She shrugged it off, like she didn't know. Finally the lady in the back realized it was order #4 NOT a #4 combo (which they don't have). Ok, so fine, what about the burger? It wasn't good. Was it bad? mehh, it was OK. I would have done better to go to a Whataburger or Sonic and it would have been cheaper and better. Even worse about the whole experience, is that I went on a Tuesday, when it was supposed to be half off. So not only did I get charged $13 for something I didn't order, had they actually gotten my order right, it would have been half off (doubles aren't half off, but the bacon burger was). Cameron, TX Horrible experience!! After repeating our order & saying it was dine in twice. About 15-20 mins of waiting & people that ordered after us were bring served. Trish who took our order came over and asked my name. I had become clear our order had been forgotten. When we went to the register to inquire about our order, we were told it was "just bagged up". when brought to the table, the fries were cold. I requested the whole meal be remade. When the young girl brought it to the table basically tossed the basket on the table & when we told her thank you her attitude was rude & disrespectful rolled her eyes & walked off w/o acknowledging us. On opening the second burger the cheese was missing. Once again we went to the register to be met with the "what wrong with that one" bad attitude & eyes rolling. I was give a piece of cheese to put on the burger myself. For EVERY employee that was interacted with to have such a poor attitude & very obvious acts of rudeness & disrespect toward customers is a a disgrace to your establishment. Wasted $20+ & 45 mins to eat a mediocre meal. Will never return!!! read more

Very good burger. Several specialty burgers. I got mushroom Swiss which was great. They did put mustard on it so I should have said something before my order. Friendly and very clean. I ordered a patty melt, which I believe is a hamburger patty on rye bread with onions and cheddar cheese. What I got was a patty on rye bread with no onions but bacon and a Kraft American single melted in the microwave. If that wasn't bad enough I watched them put a mop bucket full of water right next to the rack of bread that they use for the Subway sandwiches. Mind you the bread is at the same level as the bucket. I should have said something but I decided to see what would happen. What happened was the girl dunked the mop in the bucket, squeezed it out, and started mopping the floor all within mere inches of the subway bread. I didnt see any splashes, but still, I'm pretty sure that some mop water had to splash over the bread. Bleh! My condolensces to the Subway customers. Enjoy your mop water! read more

In wandering outside of Austin I often forget that I'm stepping into what seems a near wasteland cuisine wise. Other than BBQ what does Tx have to offer? Chili here and there and an occasional chicken fried steak... I needed a bite, decided to try something new and lo and behold I'm the first person to review Tx burger. What was impressive? Nothing. I believe this Tx Burger is also a Subway so my straws said Subway. I was given a Dr. Pepper instead of a coke, and nothing was impressive about my meal. Granted I was going to be impressed, I was going to keep hunger pains at bay in the middle of a barren wasteland. I'm not sure what people do in this part of TX but they've not been working out the best all American burger. Granted, this burger was better than Dairy Queen. Just writing these reviews makes me slightly nauseous. read more

This should be a five star review, and based on the food it would have been. I got a burger, which was great. I called in the order 20 minutes before arriving in town, because of time constraints. I relay this on the phone to whoever took my order. When I arrived the order had not been given to the fry cook. The attitudes of the staff caused the lost of stars. They all acted like they didn't want to be there. Again, if they don't want to be there get another job. Hats off to the fry cook, the burger was delicious. read more

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of the service. The young blonde girl that assisted me was courteous and very helpful. She answered all of my questions and had a smile on her face, even though she had 15+ band students in her line as well. I ordered then sat down, and watched as a short round balding man with an upset look on his face walked in. I found out later that his name is Richard Parish. As soon as he walked in he started demanding this poor girl around, not knowing how busy the restaurant just was. It was as if he was bullying her, and she tried to explain herself to him, but he wasn't hearing it. The only reason why I know this, is because he belittled her right behind the counter, and I watched it all. He even hit the counter with a closed fist at one point. This is my first time in Cameron, and if I ever come back this will be the last place that I come because of him. It was as if he was taking all of his anger out on her, it was disgusting. I have over 10 years of experience in the service industry and I have never been treated like this by a customer, manager or owner. If anyone in my personal or professional life ever talked to me in the way that he talked to her would get hit right in his mouth. If you live around or frequent TX Burger, monitor how Richard treats the employees. Hopefully he changes his ways, but he seems like a piece of shit. I will never go back solely because of him. I feel sorry for the hard working employees of this place, and I would advise them not to take his shit. There has to be better places to work, even in the small town of Cameron. Out for a drive, decided to grab a burger in a town we'd never been to, and we found TX Burger in Cameron Texas. We went into the lobby to rest from the drive, we were the only inside customers, we ordered two burgers, my husbands came with a sourdough bun, I asked for the same....$20 for 2 burgers seemed a bit high, but never having been there, we took our number and waited for our order. 15 minutes later, one of the counter workers asked if we were there to pick up an order for door dash. We had watched as many orders were prepared, bagged, and handed out the drive through window, there had been 3 cars in line when we entered the lobby. 2 more people came inside, and ordered. Another 10 minutes passed, and we learned that they had not even started on our order....for a fast food place, that's not good. My husband told me that he would give them 5 more minutes, and we'd leave. The worker finally called our name, nearly 30 minutes later. Another worker loudly stated she did not like it that my husband vocalized his irritation at the wait, the young man handed our order to my husband, and quietly said he was sorry it took so long, but the woman continued her rant about her anger at us. How dare we come into a fast food burger joint and expect decent service. Looked at the receipt on the way out, and they had charged us $1.10 for the sourdough buns. One star because they have to get something. The thing is, the burgers were just mediocre...the service sucked, and the attitude---being openly angry at a customer because the worker caused a problem......unacceptable. Combining a local burger joint with a Subway is an interesting idea. The burger is pretty good. It's a thin patty with shredded lettuce in a way reminiscent of Whataburger. But higher quality, customizable toppings, like jalapenos, mushrooms, and Swiss, set it apart. There's even a "garden" burger, so the health conscious need not eat at Subway. It's refreshing to still find local burger joints in small town Texas. read more

$7 for a burger, fries, and soda combo. Pretty good eats for a short stopover enroute back to Killeen from Houston. Pickle to burger ratio is more than most joints, but that's how I like my burgers. Healthier option of Subway sandwich offered in the same location...so good one stop for big group. I recommend the #1 combo. read more

I came to this Tx Burger location about a month ago.. and I remember the incident perfectly because my order was simple. we ordered our food via drive thru not sure what my husband ordered but I ordered the Bacon TX Burger we pulled around to the window and waited 2-3 min before the clerk at the window opened it upon bursting out laughing at another one of her coworkers (no big deal) she let us know our food would be out in alittle bit, we were content with that answer we had our drinks already so we were prepared to wait for our food... but I didn't expect to wait 12-15 minutes when we were the only ones in the drive thru and the inside was not packed. after 15 min the cook comes to the window and brings us our food long story short my husband and I are about 30 minutes from the restaurant by the time I go to eat my burger when I noticed my "bacon tx burger" was missing the bacon! at that point I was truly baffled and pissed off because we waited in drive thru for 15 minutes and they forget the bacon. I was really excited for my burger and I've been to other TX burger locations but this location does not represent TX Burger very well. read more

My husband and I were passing through the area and stopped to eat at the Cameron location. It took them 15 min to get our food to us when we were the only ones in the lobby and one person in drive through, and then they messed up my order to boot. I went and told them about the sandwich being wrong and to start they just looked at me like they weren't sure they could do anything about it and finally one girl asked what I was supposed to have and told the cook but WOULDN'T take the wrong sandwich. So I went back and sat down and ate my fries with the sandwich just sitting on the table. My husband finished his meal and we sat and waited for another 5 min before I finally went back up and asked where my sandwich was, the man who had given the cook my wrong order, who was no where around when I told the ladies about my sandwich being wrong told me he couldn't make another sandwich without having the old one and since I hadn't given them the old one he wasn't going to make a new one. I told him they wouldn't take the old one and set it on the counter and asked if he would make a new one and he asked again what was wrong with the first one and why I needed a new one. They eventually got me the correct order after another 5-10 min but he was visibly upset about having to do so. We just checked the sandwich and left. Not to mention that my husbands burger was barely of higher quality than a mcdonalds burger. Yes the jalapeños were good and they had customizable options but the patties were paper thin and not worth $8! read more

Wife and I visited the Cameron location tonight, July 24, 2004 at 7:00pm. Super friendly guy behind the counter took our order. Everything went down hill from there. Orders arrived only to be totally not what we ordered plus the fries were cold, I mean really cold. Carried the orders back to the counter, explained they were wrong and fries were cold as they could be. Nice lady apologized and said they would take care of the problem. WRONG Second order came out with mustard & onions on my burger which I made extremely clear when placing the order, that I did NOT want any mustard or onions. My wife's meat was still pink so she couldn't eat hers. Speaking of meat, Nolan Ryan advertises his pure beef burgers. Let me tell you this, our meat was so thin you could actually see holes through it. That was the thinnest meat I've seen. It was as if they laid it under a steam roller to see how thin they could possibly get it. Went to get a drink refill and nice lady asked if our replacement meal was OK. Had to tell her what happened. She apologized and offered to make us another meal. I declined. Two times if you can't get it right then three chances is useless. Nice man that took our order came out, apologized and refunded our money. He explained they had a new cook. Hey, if you run a restaurant you better hire a cook that knows what they are doing or you won't be in business long. Won't darken Texas Burger's door again, and that ain't no Bull. read more
