Cheapish eats, chip and salsa bar, quick and fresh food. There is both indoor seating and outdoor seating and it's located on the cutest street. The fish and shrimp tacos were great and filling, topped with so much crunchy cabbage, hiding the protein, but it was there. The flautas were delicious and the steak tacos had big, juicy bites of steak. The guac was weak (not an order but what came with flautas). It was more of a thick avocado salsa. Props to the great beer options - with some local varieties from Davis. We went when school was out for summer and it was still quite busy for dinner. I imagine during school days, it's packed. I see why this is on so many of the Yelp top places to eat: it's a great value with large portions and good eats.

I loved the quesabirria taco, which came with consommé and my Aggie taco was ok. The Aggie had so much cabbage my friend asked me if there was any fish inside. I assured her there was but it did take me about 4 bites before I found my way to it. Otherwise, everything was tasty! The blue corn tortilla on the Aggie taco was a nice touch since it's one of UC Davis' school colors. The service was great; everyone was friendly and I liked that they cleared away our empty plates often. I also love that they have a complimentary chips and salsa bar. This place is obviously popular- the turnover time was fast and still more people were coming through the door when we left. Thanks and I'm looking forward to returning for brunch!

I don't know if this is…read morethe same family of Maya Restaurants that are located in Sacramento, but if so I have been to the one located near Richards Boulevard in Sacramento and really like it. This building in Davis sits on a corner and is hot pink, so you can't miss it. They have outdoor, covered seating that was very enjoyable with today's great weather. My favorite thing about lunch today (5/7/26) was the service. The food was good, but the service was excellent. Upon arrival, my first time here I peered into the interior of the restaurant to see if my relative had arrived. I was immediately greeted by a very nice young man behind the counter. I exited the building and sat down at one of their exterior tables so my cousin could easily spot me, and the same very nice young man came out and brought me a menu to review while I was waiting for my cousin to arrive. Once she arrived, we went inside and ordered our meals, and returned to their outside seating. They have an open chips and salsa bar which was great as we waited for our meals. A short while later, another nice young man (with braids) came out to clear the table and offer drink refills. They were both very kind, accommodating and engaging. It's very nice to have great customer service from these gentlemen. We had a lovely lunch, and I would return.

But don't let that stop you. The food is excellent and it's worth taking the time to figure out your order. A few dishes I'd point you toward: the Fajita plate, the Al Pastor plate, and the Quesabirria Tacos are all worth ordering. On my first visit I had what I believe is called the Milpas Salad which was great, but I don't see it on the menu anymore. Great chips and salsa bar too. Great outdoor seating for nice days, and dog-friendly. Already my go-to for Mexican food in town. Love all the artwork on the walls too.

I got a carnitas burrito ($20) and for lunch their dishes come with a soup or salad and rice and beans. They have a classic menu of Mexican dishes and their portions are big! They also has free chips and salsa and that salsa was phenomenal. I got the soup and it was really good although a tad salty. There were veggies in it and the soup came out HOT. I also typically dont like meatballs but the meatball was yummy! The portions for the dishes are massive. Def a pretty good deal in my opinion. The burrito was delicious. The tortilla was nice and crispy and flaky, the carnitas was also crispy but not dry. I think it was just pico and carnitas in the burrito but it was so yummy! A lot of meat in the burrito. Def would come back to this spot!

very unpleasant and horrible experience…read more I came here for breakfast and mind I traveled from far away to eat at this restaurant because it was recommended by some of my colleagues. During my visit, I experienced several uncomfortable situation with the way I was treated by the woman with her hair tied back and wearing clear-framed glasses. I assume she is in charge, given how non-chalant she seemed acting with disrespect. She was extremely rude from the very beginning. She looked unfriendly from the moment I walked in and immediately started speaking to me only in Spanish, even though I responded in English. I didn't appreciate that she assumed I spoke Spanish simply because of my appearance. She had no patience whats so ever, while taking my order. I felt completely ignored. She seemed frustrated, and every time I asked a questions, she would respond with, "Do you want anything else?" With an attitude. When she brought me my plate, I noticed that one of her long fingernails touched my food. To make matters worse, before I had even finished eating, she took my plate away . I hope this establishment takes situations like this seriously and promotes a healthy environment where respect and humility are a priority. If I ever return and experience the same treatment again, I will escalate the matter to her supervisors or the owner. This is unacceptable.
