5 stars: delicious beef-based pho, fresh noodle option makes the whole meal feel lighter, about $15-20 per person, I would bring a friend visiting from out of town here easily Came here for lunch with my dad on a Thursday afternoon. Quick service, you order at the counter and they bring out your food to the table in minutes. There are bright red chairs with metal tables so very casual vibe. The person taking our order wasnt exactly the friendliest which was a bummer. We both got the Pho Hanoi (#14, comes with wok fried ribeye and garlic) with the fresh noodles upgrade which was a $1.50 surcharge but so worth it. Came out to about $44 total. The broth was good, didnt taste diluted, and different than the pork broths I've been used to from other pho restaurants. The meat was fully cooked, flavorful, and both of ours had a decent amount of meat. The fresh noodles were great and light, it didnt feel like I was forcing myself to eat noodles I didnt like. Standard garnishes (jalapeños, limes, sprouts) though they start you off with a small amount of make sure to ask for more if you run low. They also have pickled white onions as a garnish!!!! SO GOOD!! As you can see from the pic, I finished mine which is rare for me. I usually leave a lot of broth or a lot of noodles left over, not this time! Note, this place only serves pho as entrees so plan accordingly if anyone in your group is expecting banh mis or doesn't want something hot, soupy, and delicious. Their phos are beef broth based. Absolutely LOVE that this is opened till midnight. Came here after a concert and was craving pho because of the cold breezy weather and soup was just perfect for the vibe. It was busy and there was a line out the door but i feel like it went by pretty quick like 10-15 min wait maybe? They have indoor and outdoor seating. I got the ribeye and brisket pho while my friends ordered the ribeye and meatball pho. Our food was delicious and i really enjoy the meat to noodle ratio. Love it love love. Keep it up. Also just a side disclaimer: bathrooms are located outside of the building and not inside. I won't lie, I expected subpar pho due to how Americanized the restaurant felt upon immediate first impression. The restaurant's interior doesn't look bad by any means, but it's been colorfully designed to appeal the college crowd at the sacrifice of authenticity. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet (also called Pho Saigon on the menu) and the cashier gave me a confused look, asking if I could point out a photo or an item number instead. I'm glad to be wrong. The Pho Dac Biet comes in a gigantic portion size for $16.50+tax. All the different proteins that come with it (ribeye, meatball, flank, tripe, etc) tasted delicious in a well-seasoned broth. I particularly enjoyed the tendon for its soft, chewy texture. This branch in Davis offers satisfying pho for incredible value. Their Elk Grove location has now made its way on to my bookmarked list. read more

Nearly perfect! I was greeted and seated 1 min into my arrival. The staff was very friendly. And even helped me decide what I may want since it was my first time. My order was received within 5 mins of waiting. The restaurant was clean. The tables are a little close for comfort but didn't bother me at all! The music was very calming (lau fey) I do think a television would be a nice addition for solo diners like myself! Gives us something to look at. The food itself was delicious, amazing broth. I do wish there were more sprouts on the plate! And the meat itself wasn't very flavorful but I've been told that is how it supposed to taste, for my own preference a little bit of black pepper did the trick. Do keep in mind the staff aren't very attentive but they are simultaneously very helpful and easy to get their attention. If you are ever craving Pho and want it FAST-- this is the place to go. More often than not, your bowl of pho will be ready within 5 minutes-- you can wash ur hands, get some water, prep your sauce bowl-- and your pho will be ready. My favorite dish is the #13 and the only one I have tried. It consists of all the meats like tripe, tendon, ribeye, flank, meatball, etc. The meat can sometimes be really tough (especially if you go early in the morning) or really nice and tender, which is why I am giving it a 4/5 for overall consistency in the quality of food. The broth is slightly less flavorful than I would like but it is still very enjoyable and is a great comforting bowl of Pho, at the end of the day. I also think their menu only consists of variations of pho and chicken soup. When you first walk in, you order and pay in the front and you will be seated inside or outside. It is self serve water and hot tea (the last time I went there was no ice tea). The inside can get a little crowded and loud during their rush hours so I enjoy sitting outside. Went here for the first time and there were already people waiting before it opened. They take your order right away before sitting down and water is self serve. The pho came out piping hot with fresh noodles (extra $1.50). The fresh noodles are definitely worth getting and they already give a side of vinegar onions for free which is nice. The broth however was a bit heavy for me and the ribeye meat was clumped together during the stir fry process. It would've been nicer to have thinner pieces of the meat in their pho for better texture. Was this one of my favorite pho places ever? So I recently flew through Sacramento for a wedding in Napa Valley. Almost everyone else in the wedding group went through San Fran, but Sacramento was actually about an hr shorter drive with traffic. Also, it was a smaller airport and easier to navigate in and out of. So on the way back, this was a perfect stop for lunch. It was delicious! Probably a bit overpriced but delicious none the less. We had both of their Signature phos and opted for the fresh thick noodles. We also added on an order of the beef short rib. So their Pho Saigon, is basically their specialty, so it had a little bit of everything. It was solid, especially adding in some of the meat from the beef rib. But the star of the show was the Pho Hanoi. The garlic and peppers made this one of the best tasting pho broths, I have ever had and that is saying a lot! We were wrong and it was super duper spicy. My husband had a hard time finishing but after 25 minute or so, he killed it. He said there was a lot of chili so if you're into the spicy pho then this one is definitely for you! Noodles were also chewy and the soup was flavorful for both. The Saigon Pho was decent, it was still flavorful. The meat was big so it was a bit hard to eat for kids so definitely ask for some scissors! I always question why I feel the need to tip on Togo when I really get boned every time. So the pho is rich. Like grass fed beef which I'm not a fan of. I wish they had flank steak and not only ribeye. I had tripe in mine which was nasty. Got mixed in the ribeye. You order and pay at the counter first and they bring your food to the table. I got a pho tai chin with fresh noodles and the amount of meat it came with was insane! The brisket was fatty and delicious and I loved that they had different types of spices at the table, like the pickled jalapeños. The rest of my friends enjoyed their bowls of pho and were so surprised Davis now had a place like this compared to when we were students. Delicious food and great service; probably the best pho in Davis. Good portions, maybe a bit more expensive than other comparable spots. Still 100% worth though. Food (9.5/10) - I got a Pho Hanoi with extra fresh noodle on the side. I am usually a massive noodle consumer so I can usually comfortably finish both the bowl and the subsequent addition. However, the portions here are actually really big and I was honestly questioning whether or not the extra noodles were necessary (I still finished it though). Overall, the beef broth had a super rich flavor depth and is the kind of soup that warms your soul on a cold day. The soup has a super nice salty flavor that really brings the whole dish together. The beef is tender and super flavorful; I think the wok-fried flavor with the garlic really shines through. My only slight desire on this bowl is that it was spicier without needing to add chili oil but still loved the overall flavor. On a separate note, I absolutely recommend that you try the fresh noodle. It does cost a little bit more but it just has this super silky texture and delicious spring. The overall mouth feel just elevates the bowl as a whole and I think it's definitely worth the charge. Service (9.5/10) - Super fast service and they bring you your food almost instantly after you sit down. The food is brought hot and delicious and I just have this vibe that they have a super efficient kitchen back there. The only dock on service is that the server gave us incorrect information... but I don't fault her too much for it. I asked if a side of extra fresh noodles would be a double charge (i.e. the extra fresh noodles cost more than extra regular noodles) and she said yes it was an extra charge. Note: It was not an extra charge. If you're hungry, I would recommend getting both since it's not a double charge! Extra $5.50 for two servings of fresh noodles. This would make a meal for ~$22 but you'll probably have leftovers. Overall, delicious food and probably going to my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Davis.
