Tybee Island is around 30 minutes away in a cozy little coastal town. The rate to go in the lighthouse covers the lighthouse and their museum. We only had time for the lighthouse. The price is $12 for adults and $10 for children. Children 5 and under are free. I was surprised they allow children of all ages. Normally there is a height restriction. My youngest (4) was thrilled because he's always wanted to join on our family tradition but was too short or young. He did a excellent job along with our (8) year old and my husband walking up the 178 steps. This is the tallest lighthouse in Georgia and the climb is fairly easy in my opinion. There is a break at every 25 steps where you can look out a window or just take a breath and let people pass if needed. The view from above is beautiful. You can see the water. There is no staff member at the top and the staff do not spend long explaining the lighthouse but there are signs to read. Overall it was a good experience and it's a beautiful lighthouse. While the tour information indicated there would be walking and some stair climbing, it didn't mention we would be walking up a steep hill covered with ballast from the riverfront back to the meeting point. After the tour, we realized that some personal belongings were lost and the staff at the store could not have been more helpful trying to track down our missing item.

We met him at a nice marina on Wilmington Island and he took us everywhere. Our favorite spot was the historic Daufuskie island. You can only get there by boat. It was about an hour long, super relaxing ride there. We all laid out on the front of the boat and caught some sun before arriving at this secluded island. Rented a golf cart and rode around with our drinks. Saw some great property, unique animals, super creepy burial grounds, and learned a ton of history from the natives. Marshside mamas had some delicious food and a live band. All around a wonderful time and not as expensive as you might think!

Called Tybee Turtle Transit because we were stranded thinking they'd be a good alternative, but they didn't answer the phone after three calls. After sitting on the bench in front of a gas station for awhile they eventually called me back, and the bloke who answered couldn't even say, "Tybee Turtle Transit" without getting tongue tied. I asked him the fair for two people from Tybee to Savannah and he said, "$55." I replied "Oh..." a little dejected because it was nearly double what I would have to pay on Uber or Lyft if I could get ride coverage. I went to discuss it with my partner to see if she still wanted to do it. And before she could answer TYBEE TURTLE TRANSIT HUNG UP ON ME. Not Cheap. Not Friendly. Not worth your Time nor Money.

Our sunrise dolphin cruise with Seth was the highlight of our girls trip to Savannah. He brought us…read morecoffee and then on the experience of a lifetime. Our trip was filled with a lot of rain, but we were so thankful to have a morning like this. The boat ride was magical. Captain Seth told us all about the area, the community, the wildlife and more. We enjoyed fresh pastries before heading further out. We got to explore a sandbar filled with pelicans and other majestic birds. We got to see dolphins---something Seth kept us out longer to make sure we got to experience. He dropped us off closer to a coffee shop and gave us tips on what to explore on Tybee. We were so thankful for this portion of our trip. I cannot suggest this enough. We were to glad we included this in our 3 day itinerary.
