Sunset

Went on the Dolphin and Sunset cruise. This cruise found the dolphins in the river and was very informative. The captain did a great job. Beautiful view of the sunset from the river. Kid friendly. Left on time and arrived back on time.

We were looking for an on-the-water experience that would focus on the area's wildlife. The Savannah Harbor Cruise company's Dolphin Eco Tour was exactly what we were hoping for! Our crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful. We were lucky enough to see several pods of dolphins, as well as multiple varieties of shore birds. The crew provided us with information about ecological biodiversity as well as local industry and history. Come prepared for some truly terrible dad jokes and you'll be thrilled.

Connor and Krista were really good about pointing out the type of birds that we were seeing.

Had a good time on the Savannah Riverboat Cruise…read more Honestly, the best part was being able to get out on the water, walk around the boat, and see Savannah from a different perspective. There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it.

Overrated. Upon…read morearrival, the ticket-taker did not greet us. He simply said, "Tickets." No, "Welcome aboard!", no "Glad you're cruising with us." and no "We're happy to see you. Where are you traveling from?" Nothing. No welcome or warm greeting. The next person wanted us to take a picture. For money, no doubt. No way. We're already not wanted, why would you want a picture? I've already decided I'm not spending any more money after being greeted in that fashion. No drinks, no snacks, and no souvenirs. The narrator was knowledgeable, had a few jokes, and was tipped appropriately. The paddlers do not run. Two stars for a knowledgeable narrator and clean restrooms. Otherwise, this riverboat cruise is a big pass.

Needless to say, the topic of slavery is an emotionally difficult subject, but a necessary topic. Sistah Patt made it interesting and educational. Take this tour. You will be happy that you did. I also took the Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe tour with Dan. I enjoyed that tour as well. It was very interesting and it ends with cookies (a stop at the Byrd's Cookies store)- always a good thing.

We loaded up and left promptly. She gave us some knowledge of the area on our way. She talked the entire way of lots of things we passed! We had a disabled person with a walker and she was very considerate and helped her get her walker on and off the trolley and made sure she was first on things and ahead of the group. She also had a cooler of free waters that I thought was very considerate! The itinerary was a bit different than the website I booked from. We went from their office to the boat ride, then lunch, then the lighthouse/beach area then dropped off people at their hotels and then back to their office. She said that the ticket was good for a couple days and that if you called them they would be there within 15 minutes and drop you off where you wanted within an area. We would use this service again!
