This was a short but delightful stay! It was clean, cozy and welcoming. We stayed in the Sea Cabin suite. It was small but for two people on a short stay... it worked! There were an assortment of herbal teas and popcorn for an evening snack. Hot coffee and perhaps homemade cookies would have added a homey touch ti the evening! Who doesn't like the aroma of fresh baked cookies! The morning was cool so their fireplace was lit which created such a warm ambience! read more

What a fantastic B & B! So much charm, great service, breakfast was great both mornings. Our room, the Captains Quarter's was unique (in a good way) comfortable, with lots of room. Great beach access, they have thought of everything. Chairs, bags, towels, umbrellas are available to use. Very clean, and well appointed. Lots of courtyard areas for relaxing. My wife and I were in Tybee for a night and found this really cool bed and breakfast. Absolutely loved it. The house is about 115 yrs old and the owners have have been open for under a year, but they've got it figured out. Customer connection is key, and they nailed it. The personal attention was fantastic. Room was the "Lighthouse" room on the upper level. It has a small balcony w/ a high top table with a view of the light house. In the morning, we sat out there to have a cup of coffee. The trees are gorgeous, covered in Spanish moss. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was great (he knows how to make the eggs delicious). They are about to start a renovation to remove old flooring and put down hard-woods, etc. and I'm sure it will be gorgeous when it's all complete. We will be back again. read more

Charming, tastefully decorated B&B. We stayed in the Captains Quarters, which has an outside entry. King size bed and a very unique copper bathtub for two! Where else are you going to find one of those? We took a peek in the other guest rooms and would have been pleased to stay in any of them. The lit up house at night from the street looks like a fairy tale home. Serve yourself snack area with a small frig you can use if needed and a microwave to fix popcorn if you wish. Breakfast was wonderful with homemade waffles, sausage, and fresh fruit. Our hostess was delightful. This Inn is centrally located for our bike riding adventures to the lighthouse, museum, restaurants, and cute little shopping area. The driveway is easy to miss so keep your eyes open for the Tybee Island Inn sign. read more

My wife and I stayed here for one night recently in the Lighthouse room. Overall it was a good experience. Very comfortable and super quiet. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Loved the outside areas to sit and relax. The breakfast was very good as was the company sitting with us. So my mom and I were so excited to visit Tybee Island because we had never been before and I saw the ratings for this place thinking it was going to be so awesome, but that was not the case. The tub did not look clean, it had a ring on the inside of it and the shower curtain was covered in mold. It could've been washed before we came there but it was not. We did make sure to tell her that the curtain was moldy before leaving though. The food was just okay to me, seemed as if she just used the same ingredients as the day before. The lady was nice but that place should've been cleaner. I have been to a bed and breakfast before so I am very disappointed in this place. read more

Beautiful historic building, convenient location, gorgeous interior decorating where they preserve some of the authentic fixtures and walls but made it very charming and cozy. Stayed here during a girls trip for the weekend in the Lighthouse Suite and we had the absolute best time! The accommodations were absolutely perfect. Close to the beach, just about a 4 minute walk! The owners were absolutely fabulous. A husband/wife team that runs like a well oiled machine. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. My favorite was the Tybee Island Bagel Sandwich! The morning we left we left before breakfast, they made sure coffee was ready and to-go cups for us. We will definitely stay again. I couldn't have been happier with our experience there. We only had the opportunity to stay at Tybee island inn for two nights but we highly enjoyed it. The owner is very personable and really makes you feel at home and welcomed. She provides bikes to rent for $10 per day, beach chairs at no cost, beach bags with towels, and the beach is within walking distance. She also serves a very balanced breakfast daily at 9. She was even able to accommodate my taste preferences (I hate eggs). I can't speak for all of the rooms but our room had a king size bed and a tub for two. One thing I found odd was that we were unable to choose which room we stayed in, as the house has 7. We got our room assignment upon arrival. The estate is absolutely stunning. I find it really hard to believe that the reviews on this site are real! We stayed in the lighthouse room and it was no less than disgusting.The place looks great in pictures but it smells musty and the paint and wall paper are coming of the walls. We are B&B people and have stayed in hundreds all up and down the east coast.Breakfast was strange. The woman said she mixed all the juices she had in the refrigerator together, it was so sticky sweet I could not drink it. Over $250.00 a night and I can't get a glass of fresh Juice !!! I am an early bird and the woman said she would leave a Keurig machine out for me, well she did the first night, but not so surprised when it was not out the next morning.I had to convince my wife that we would only be sleeping here and spending most of our time out. Should have left and stayed at the Hampton Inn. A picture is worth 1000 words... Just not in this Case. Giving this place one star is generous. read more

This was an adorable little Inn. It felt like you were staying with family, very warm and inviting. The rooster is gone now (or at least it did not crow at all). It was a leisurely drive from Savannah (about 20-30 minutes), and very close to the beach, lighthouse, restaurants, and John Mellencamp's abode! This is definitely a relaxation spot and is geared for an older crowd...very quiet. This B&B has exceptional food! We were served a super filling gourmet breakfast each morning and were able to taste a sweet treat each evening. The food here was my favorite part of our vacation.They also took care of making your bed and cleaning the room so you did not have to lift a finger. We stayed in the Dolphin room which was quaint though a little light-blocking in terms of window coverings and a window that led to the stairwell would have been preferred. Also, keep in mind you do not have control over the thermostat at this Inn though they had a fan there to use which did a pretty good job. I will say for us it's best for a weekend trip or to utilize the Groupon deal as we prefer a hotel atmosphere for longer trips and it was a bit on the pricey side without the discount. Keep in mind it's an older building and very quiet so you can hear people from time to time, though overall our stay was really lovely and it was a joy to meet the Inn keepers/ fellowguests. read more

When I called the Inn to confirm my check in time, after arranging our reservations for the weekend SEVERAL weeks prior (as well as receiving a confirmation email and paying for our stay in full), the employee that answered the phone informed me ...as I'm driving on the interstate to their location ...that they double booked the room and offered me no alternative solution or assistance. Our family was greeted warmly by the owner and innkeeper, given a thorough tour, and shown to our room. The Lighthouse room was comfortable, clean, and wonderfully private with it's own balcony overlooking the lovely garden and long-range view of the lighthouse. The neighborhood is nice and quiet since the property is surrounded by elder care facilities. It's also within walking distance of the beach and a few restaurants. The inn furnishes the rooms with good sized flat-screen HD TVs powered by plenty of channels, as well as house-wide wireless internet. The breakfasts are scrumptious and plentiful--fruit or oatmeal starters followed by breakfast-style or french toast casseroles. Guests are invited to help themselves to a variety of drinks in the pantry, and wonderful baked items are made fresh daily for an evening snack. The innkeepers showed sincere efforts to make everyone feel special, and we would love to return on future trips to Tybee. read more

It's fine if you want a college spring break-esque hotel. Mattress is lumpy, old bed linens and generally poor conditions. The facet handle falls off when you touch it, the bathroom door is missing a chunk of paint and the shower is gross. What I will say is the room appears to be fairly clean. The outside of the hotel and the little pools are well maintained but the South Tower is old and dated and in need of a serious deep cleaning and face lift. We will try someplace else on the island next time. read more

Visited this week to celebrate my Fiance's birthday and we absolutely loved it. The innkeeper Linda was warm and welcoming from the instant we arrived to the moment we left. She started by giving us an introductory tour of the Inn while sharing it's history and some must sees about the island. We stayed in the sea cabin room which was a cozy tucked away room near the front of the facility and although it was near the kitchen we felt it was mostly quiet very private. Breakfast was served hot and fresh each morning at 9am and Linda remember my eating restrictions and ensured that they were met, which I was highly appreciative of. We truly feel we made the perfect choice for our first visit to Tybee Island and will certainly return. read more

We stayed at the Tybee Island in a couple of years back as well, and it sounds like we might have stayed in the same room as Doug H.. It had its own back porch (2nd floor) and was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hostess was nice, and Doug was right, she didn't have a whole lot to say but was friendly and warmed up a bit the second day we were there. It's just down the street from the beach, but be aware that lots of folks from Savannah (only about 20 minutes away) come here on the weekend so expect a crowded beach with lots of kids. Overall very nice and cozy, worth staying here and then driving into Savannah where the B&Bs are more expensive and parking may be tough. read more

This inn is as close to a home away from home as it gets. The inn keepers are warm and helpful, and breakfast is amazing! I have lots of food allergies and am used to skipping whatever is served at places like this. But Julie took the challenge, reviewed recipes with me, and made me a special (enormous and very tasty) breakfast in addition to the 3-course meals she made for all the other guests. I stayed in the Mermaid room, which was very spacious with a bathroom big enough to be another bedroom. It was quiet, although this room is closest to the kitchen and reception area so I could hear voices at times (never before 8 am or after 10 pm though). The beach is an easy walk away, as are restaurants and convenience stores. I walked about half an hour down the beach to get downtown on the south end of the island. I would definitely visit this inn again! read more

What a wonderful, charming inn! My new husband and I stayed here for a "mini-moon" after our wedding. We stated for 4 nigts, and found the innkeepers, Johnathan and Marcy to be outstanding. Extremely hospitable and knowledgable about the island, eager to give info on restaurants and activities. We stayed in a downstairs room with a private entrance. It was small, and the bathroom was wierdly placed on the second floor, but it was charming nontheless. Beach access was a few minute walk away, and even during peak summer travel time, it was never overrun with people. The inn was clean and historical. It served as the hospital day room for the fort that was nearby. The grounds are breathtaking and secluded. A real stunner! The breakfasts were delicious, beautifully presented and gourmet. I hope we add the Tybee Island Inn to our annual routine, I would visit here every year if we could! read more

I loved this place! It is beautiful and has an awesome atmosphere. The garden is gorgeous! The inn is only a short walk from the beach. My only complaint (and the only reason that I'm not giving this place 5 stars) is that you aren't in control of the climate in your room (AC or heater). The innkeepers control it via a central thermostat. Being that I am a hot-natured person, I found my room to be too warm the entire time. Thankfully, they had fans and it was cool enough outside to open the windows. My only other complaint is that the neighbor has a rooster that crows nonstop once the sun begins to come up (if you keep the windows closed, you can't really hear it but if you're hot and have the windows open you can forget getting any sleep after the rooster gets started). read more

New owner Jeff is the nicest guy ever! We came for a last minute getaway after receiving some very bad medical news. Jeff and his Mom went out of their way to ensure our visit was exceptional on every level. The inn is lovely and quaint, with beautiful outdoor seating areas that are relaxing and private. We stayed in the lighthouse room with its own little balcony that was surrounded by spanish moss and ferns. We viewed several other rooms, and each has their own character and charm. The beach was a five minute walk away, and we thoroughly enjoyed the vast expanse of sand and surf that was unspoiled and sparsely populated. Breakfast was a delicious ham and cheese omelet served with fresh berries, and all the coffee, tea, or juice that you wanted. Our visit here far exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to anyone wishing for a quiet, relaxing getaway in gorgeous scenery with full southern hospitality. Clean rooms, close to the beach. Lee (female) the innkeeper is very easy to talk to and just took over about 6 weeks ago from the previous owner. Cupcakes were made for us as an evening snack. Breakfast was delicious. We were told to relax anywhere and breakfast will be brought to us about 9am and it was. We prefer that over having to sit at a big table with everyone. Lee suggested dinner at Sundae Cafe a short walk up the street. The food was delicious average entree 20+, casual attire. We stayed in the sea cabin room which is toward the front of the inn off of the community snack area. Bathroom could use some updating. We move to the savannah room tomorrow since that was the only room available that day when we booked. Sea cabin has a queen bed in a narrow room, and the bathroom is across a receiving hall and has a two person tub. The gardens around the inn are gorgeous and are covered with live oaks. We recently spent my wife's birthday at this really charming bed & breakfast. The Inn is located on the property of Ft. Screvin and is nestled among flowers, live oaks and some eclectic yard art. The building was built in 1902 as a day room for the fort's hospital. It has seven rooms and is apparently very popular for weddings. It offers free WiFi and each room we saw was very different but beachy. Restaurants are reachable by walking or bicycling. We would say it is a quiet couple's retreat. Our hostess, Lee, was very helpful suggesting restaurants and places to see. We were only there a couple of nights, but it was worth the three hour drive. read more

My boyfriend and I got a Groupon for a weekend stay here, otherwise we probably wouldn't have been able to afford it, being grad students and all. It was one of the best weekend trips we've ever had together, if not the best. The staff was hospitable, kind and full of good ideas for how to spend our weekend. They recommended several good restaurants and sightseeing opportunities, such as the lighthouse and Fort Pulaski. We got the Captains Quarters room and it was beyond perfect. The tub was big enough for my 6'+ tall boyfriend and I to share (This is nearly impossible to find btw). The bed was comfortable and I'm dying to get my hands on a set of the sheets they use. We had a movie night one night after dinner and the TV was VERY decently sized (somewhere over 40", maybe 46"). AND it was accompanied by a terrific sound system. The spiral staircase to the bathroom was a bit tricky after a couple bottles of wine, but still doable. However, not recommended for people who have issues with even normal stairs. AND THE BREAKFAST! Oh goodness, the breakfast. I've stayed at some B&Bs before, where the breakfast part is just eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, etc. They went above and beyond my expectations though. There was some sort of sweet egg custard or something underneath half of a crispy croissant, topped with warm fruit and a thin blueberry sauce, and whipped cream. Boyfriends came with sausage on the side, which I politely requested to have removed from mine, being vegetarian and all. The second day, there was some sort of banana pudding parfait, along with a frittata with tomatoes, bacon, spinach and some other stuff. I couldn't eat it because of the bacon but it looked yummy! I cannot wait to go back! Maybe once I get the big-girl job, I'll be able to afford the normal nightly rates. And believe me, it's worth it! read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days for my 30th birthday. We stayed in the Flamingo room. If you look on their website the Flamingo is there least expensive room. And since we were on a budget that is the one I picked. I was not disappointed at all. Of all the rooms this is the one I will definitely stay in again. The room had its own private entrance and the room was on the bottom floor outside of the house so it was quiet. The room also had a large porch swing on the porch with a reasonably large fenced in yard. This was a great asset to us because I brough my dog with us on our trip. Yes, they are pet friendly! Another reason I picked this B & B. The inside of the room is very cool as well. There is a round staircase that goes up to the second floor of the room that has the bathroom and shower. It is only a few minutes from the beach. The lady who ran the place was very nice. I have already looked into booking another trip here soon. read more

Location! Location! Location! This place was nestled in just a few blocks from the Lighthouse and the Beach. In the mornings we could smell the breakfast from our room and could not wait to come down to eat. My wife and I stayed in the "Green Room" and would highly recommend it. The bed was comfortable and we wouldn't have even known others were staying there unless we saw them at breakfast. I highly recommend this BnB if you are looking for a quiet beach getaway. This B&B was truly one of the best I've stayed at in years! The gardens and walkways are gorgeous and the front porch swing and rockers set the pace! I stayed here for three nights this week and enjoyed every minute. The managers were delightful and I was amazed at the privacy and the wonderful breakfasts served each day. Homemade southern cookin' and fresh brewed coffee!!! I was pleasantly surprised to see snacks out for us each day too. I had an enriching time visiting with my "newest best friends" as the fellow roomers were very sweet and thoughtful. The location of this inn is close to beach access and very close to one of the best resturaunts on the island. Quick walk to dining, convenience store or liquor store if you so desire. This place is amazing! Affordable, clean, cute,comfortable. Four women on a vacay together can be a bit scary! In this cute beach house we felt we had plenty of room. There are two porches, a pool/hot tub area, two bedrooms and a kitchen/sitting area. Plenty of places to have our private time and when we wanted to hang. The people in the other house have been coming there for many years, that speaks tons. To get to the beach you walk across the street and the length of a building and you are there. The island is 3 miles long so you get anywhere you need to go really fast. The local people are great about telling you places to eat or just talk. What a funky, fun beach house to spend our week. my husband and i had our wedding at the tybee island inn on September 15, they took care of everything but the clothes and invitations. cake was fantastic, ceremony was absolutely breath-taking. i could not have asked for anything better, it was our dream wedding, we'd do it all over again. we asked for a few things that were special to us ( we asked for a flamingo theme and an extra chair to hold a memorial plaque to honor my father who passed away) and it was NOT A PROBLEM, Ilona who was the planner and photographer made everything perfect she even surprised us with a few extra details (more flamingos leading to the alter, she probably would have gotten real flamingos if we asked lol) . she met with us a few days before the wedding day and took us to the beach to show us how and where everything was going to be placed (chairs, alter, flowers etc) we wrote our own vows and Gorden our officiant had no problem adding them into the beautiful ceremony that he planned for us, we met with him a few days before with Ilona to go over details like type of ceremony, number of guests, photos, parking for guests, and to double check our flowers, cake, make sure we had our marriage license, rings and all the other details. i was so nervous and couldn't stop crying i actually forgot my wedding vows and Leah the inn keeper is great,she let me use her personal computer to print them and Gordan told me to breath, i was just getting married nothing to panic about. lol i didn't stop crying until after he pronounced us Mr. and Mrs. our cake reception was perfect we got complements from all of our guests on how beautiful the garden was and how delicious the cake was. iced tea water and coffee where also served with our cake. they also provided our sparkling cider to toast with. our photos haven't come in yet but it has only been 5 days but i'm sure that its not easy to edit all those pictures Ilona must have taken at least 250 photos. read more
