Thank You TYCO Plumbing! Once again TYCO Plumbing came to our rescue! We were experiencing low water pressure and unsure if it was due to a problem faucet or something major. TYCO Plumbing had been out before and had taken photos of our pressure reducing valve which was old and eventually would need replacing. Rich was fabulous! We looked at the pressure reducing valve and he tested the water pressure. The valve was working but old and I felt that it was a good time to replace it since it was original from 1995. Rich also checked the faucet and determined that the cartridge was defective. He gave me a quick lesson on disassembling and replacing the new cartridge once the manufacturer sent a new one. In addition, he checked and corrected a running toilet that was becoming irritating. It simply needed an adjustment and not new parts. I learned a lot about pressure reducing valves from Rich. Not being familiar with what they do, what can happen when they fail, and why you don't want your water pressure too high, I discovered that, "Many homeowners who complain of screeching noises or banging sounds in their plumbing system have a bad pressure reducing valve. Moreover, high water pressure can add to the cost of water, energy, and wastewater bills. If a PRV fails, it can leak and cause flooding in your basement or lower level." I also learned that "If the water pressure level coming into your home from the city exceeds 80 psi, you need a water pressure reducing valve (regulator). Reducing the system pressure 10 to 20 psi can save thousands of gallons a year in the typical home. On average, the water pressure in a home should not be more than 80 psi. When water pressure reaches over 80 psi, signs of trouble may start to occur. This is a serious concern--water pressure that is too high is difficult to contain, and could leak to plumbing leaks, worn seals, and damaged fixtures. It could even shorten the lifespan of your appliances that depend on a water connection like your washing machine, ice maker, dishwasher, and more." We now have a nice new pressure reducing valve and one less worry. The faucet cartridge is one the way from the manufacturer and I got some great lessons in plumbing and the function of the pressure reducing valve. I cannot say enough good things about TYCO Plumbing. Tyler and Steven are professionals who pride themselves on finding solutions. They are honest and incredibly easy to work and talk with. We had a new high-efficiency furnace put in our attic in January and since then have had loud thumping noises coming from the shower drain. This has been a difficult issue to resolve and is still not resolved, but TYCO offered to try a couple of things that they could not guarantee would solve the issue. When looking at the next steps they were honest enough to state that a rerouting of the drain still might not fix the problem and could have other issues with freezing. After giving me a quote for work we would have paid for, we were able to talk, and they actually suggested that I try alternative professionals to troubleshoot and would communicate with those professionals to help us solve the problem. TYCO Plumbing is the company we will use for all of our plumbing needs, and we will refer our family and friends to them as well. We called TYCO for a second opinion on a basement leak... and we are so glad we did! Josh came by on a Friday to give us a quote, assess the area, and inform us that if they had to dig any further than the allotted quote, there would be an additional charge. He was not at all pushy or salesy. I discussed it with my fiancé, and we agreed that Tyco would be the best fit and proceeded. For reference, I was given a 7-hour timeframe to complete the work at this time. Their team began around 10 a.m. and finished before I had to leave to pick up the kids around 2 p.m. Having said that, Josh and Robert were back on the job by Tuesday morning. I work from home, so when it came time to move the extra foot to ensure the pipe didn't crack any further, he informed me right away. They proceeded to break the extra concrete after I agreed. After they finished the work and ran a few test runs, I walked out of my office and they were cleaning up. I needed a new hot water heater. I spent 2 months getting quotes and I chose TYCO. Tyler was by far the most knowledgeable and trustworthy plumber that I met with. He is the ONLY plumber that told me I needed a permit to comply with the law, he also procured it for me and walked me through the inspenspection process. TYCO came in close as the most cost effective and when I asked for a price match to the lowest estimate, they stood by their estimate because it was priced exactly as it should be. It was not about getting the job for them, it was about doing the right job and the job was done to perfection. Tyler schooled me on the different heater options available to me, offered advice when I asked his professional judgment and answered all of my annoying emails. They showed up on time, they cleaned up immaculately and they even laughed at my jokes and entertained my 5 year old. We never realize how much we take hot water for granted until we no longer have it at our fingertips. My hot water heater went down and after getting quoted $7,000-$8,000 by multiple other companies, I finally found a plumbing business that caters to the customer, instead of their pockets. Michelle was able to dispatch a crew the very next day. Josh and Lance showed up on time and reviewed my options with me. I decided to go with a new water heater that was much more reasonably priced than anyone else. Installation was extremely fast, clean, and professional. Everything was installed to city code and done with nothing but the most professional service I could ask for. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic and our toilet clogged. We tried everything to clear the clog to avoid the risk of having someone in our house during this time, but no luck. We reached out to Tyler and he assured us that he and his team were strictly following CDC guidelines. Rich arrived on time and masked up keeping at least a 6ft distance. It wasn't a big job, but he laid down plastic to the bathroom, cleared the clog (pulled up some nasty looking glob...), tested the flow, re-set the toilet, tested again and cleaned up. Rich gave us the peace of mind that not only was our plumbing issue fixed, but that he took the appropriate precautions to keep everyone safe from virus exposure. Josh showed up on time and was extremely efficient. He explained to me what it was going to take to fix the problem and an immediate quote. If I wanted to proceed he would be able to take care of it all now. One part had to be ordered and he would return for that. He completed everything and my leak is fixed. Done very professionally and they use the best materials. TYCO called to let me know the ordered item was in. Josh returned and fixed my leaky sink. He even took time to talk to my elderly father who was a plumber back in the day. He was so patient, proficient and is just an all around good guy. Had to have them come back out. We were highly impressed with Tyler and TyCo Plumbing. From start to finish, he was very professional, explaining our options, delivering everything he promised (and more)! From the first meeting, to the final product, he was top notch! His price was competitive and worth every penny! Tyco Plumbing did a superb job replacing our old water main line with a new one due to a leak. Tyler, the owner, was on the project with his crew and communicated with us regularly what is going on with the project. This daunting task was already completed early afternoon without any setbacks. The crew protected flooring and walls of the work area in the basement and did dust mitigation. After the inspector approved the work, the crew back filled the dugout trench in the yard, refurbished the basement access panel, cleaned up the area and did a walkthrough of the accomplished project. I so appreciate this company's honesty as well as virus precautions. Rich, a tech from Tyco, came over to investigate an issue at my older home. After thoroughly looking into it, he determined that it wasn't a plumbing issue at all, but a tile or grout problem. Since he was here, I asked if he could look at a few other things, like a toilet that I suspected might be running up my water bill. I had an extra flapper for it, and Rich just dropped it in. After all was said and done, he refused to charge me for a service call, despite the time spent here. Now that's service! He also wore a mask, gloves and shoe coverings the whole time. I had such a great experience and would highly recommend using TYCO. I had a leaking pipe in the ceiling above my kitchen from a water heater pipe. I had several different companies come out which all said my water heater needed to be moved to fix the pipe, and they also all tried to sell me a new water heater that had years left of life on it still. Scott from TYCO came out and actually came up with a great solution to spare my water heater and not move it, and he was able to fix the pipe and saved me $1,000s compared to what everyone else had wanted to do. This is the best plumbing company we have ever worked with!! One of the tub/showers in our house had a broken diverter. I consulted with 5 different plumbers and most of them wanted to demolish all of the tile that had only been redone a few years ago. Rich instantly knew how to fix the problem without demolishing my bathroom. We could not be happier with Tyco Plumbing. As usual Rich was right on the ball. My toilet upstairs quit flushing for some reason so I called Tyco on Wednesday to see when Rich could come out and his next appt was today (Thursday) between 2-5. Well it so happened he had just finished a job and called the office and Danielle advised him that I called. Well lucky for me he was in Arvada, called me to see if I was going to be home in the next 20-30 minutes(this was Wednesday) and I said yes. There was a water hammer problem in my home that was not only annoying it was potentially dangerous to the integrity of my water pipes due to the banging and shaking. I had 3 sprinkler guys and two plumbers out to examine and fix the problem with no success (but with significant expenditures) Finally I called TYCO plumbing and they sent Rich out the next day. I don't know what we would have done without TYCO plumbing. Of course we had a plumbing emergency at 9 pm. Our bathtub water would not shut off. We had to turn off our water to our house completely until we were able to chat with Tyler. I couldn't get over how nice, professional and knowledgeable he is. We had our hot water heater go out on a Friday night and we emailed TYCO Saturday morning not expecting a response till Monday. However Tyler called us back and said he would see if any of his techs could come out. None of them could but Tyler said he would be in the area with his family and would come by for a look.
