I came here last Friday, I was grabbing sushi at the well reviewed place beside it (the sushi place was meh) and on my way to my car after finished eating I saw the donut place and thought yeh I could go for a donut. It was the afternoon so he had like half of his donuts left. I grabbed a half dozen mixed and I just have to say, they were all absolutely amazing. Half of the box was gone by the time I drove 7 minutes to get home I could not stop eating them. Damn, these donuts are really good! LOL I came across this shop while getting my car fixed nearby and I'm so glad I decided to stop in! I'm not racist or anything, but while waiting in line to order my donuts I saw the owner and assumed he had an asian accent like at other asian owned donut shops I've been to. I came up, he greeted me and I was like, oh damn you speak perfect english, my bad! LOL (in my head of course) Anyways....the donuts here are so good! I'm not sure what it's called, but there is a round donut with sprinkles or crumbles all over it and it is THE TRUTH! Please do order than. Very good donuts. Been there a bunch of times at this point. Not the absolute best, but very good. The apple fritters are very well done -- as are the blueberry fritters. Fried up well and flavorful. They have very good crullers. Those light, eggy, and airy bits of fried dough. They'll get you every time. I've tried the buttermilk ones too. Those are among the best I've had. The only one I can think of that I found lacking was the maple bar. That one seemed kind of blah. Plenty of tables and benches. Never been too crowded. read more

I'm from Mid America and grew-up on traditional American style donuts - these are legit and very, very difficult to find consistent, high quality donuts these days. This is not you standard fare grocery store garbage. This is not the trendy, over-rated fancy donuts like Top Pot, Frost, etc that you neighbors and co-workers like to brag out. This is flat out as original as you can get! Tyler's specialty is clearly the 'raised' style donuts. They are super soft, light, fluffy and incredibly delicious. The glazes have just the right amount: not overly thick and waxy like Krispy Kreme. Are the filled are great especially the creme filled. His maple bars are the most popular seller for good reason. Really, you might think "how different can a donut be? They're just donuts." I did, too, until I had Tyler's donuts. Easily among the best donuts I've ever had, at least for your standard varieties like glazed, old fashioned, fritters, cake, etc. They aren't mind-blowing or anything, but they are consistently and undeniably a little bit better than all the others I've tried. The only problem is that the secret is out, and sometimes you get there in the morning and the case is empty of the most popular things. Other times, it's totally packed with all kinds of goodies. When my wife and I go, we just get 2-3 donuts, so it's not much of an issue. Also, Tyler is very polite and responsive, but in a way that gets people through the line quickly. I had been dying to try this place since I drove by it. I finally went in the other day but it was in the afternoon. Even though it was about 2p, there was still a decent selection of treats. I tried a glazed and a chocolate frosted with sprinkles. Both were really delicious! The person running the shop was friendly and carried on a short conversation with me while I was there, which was nice. Inside and out of this place was very clean and tidy. It also wasn't very difficult to get in and out of. Plenty of parking nearby, which is great! In all, this place is awesome and I plan on becoming a loyal donut connoisseur of this place! Let's face it: donuts, for the most part, are just donuts. They're blobs of fried dough and are one of the worst things you can put into your body. Tyler's Donut House is one of maybe two that I would say are worth the damage. Great homemade donuts, great selection! Blueberry fritters? Um, yes. Old-fashioned crumble donuts? You don't have to ask me twice. They've got everything from glazed to filled to chocolate with sprinkles to light and fluffy to heavy and cakey. And they're cheap, too! Most donuts are about $1, or you can get a fritter or a dozen donut holes for $1.50. The only downside is that the coffee is nothing special. I'd recommend going earlier in the day, of course, because most donut shops will not bake more in the afternoon. Filled with lotsa apple chunks, swirled with cinnamon and iced oh so lightly. Big, thin and not greasy. You get the idea. YUMMERS! This is the one to beat. The maple bar isn't flaky-dense: light without being too fluffy, just the right amount of maple-flavored icing on top. In south Everett, but worth the drive. You can tell the owner cares about his craft. This and Countryside Donuts in MLT are my current top two. Frost Donuts? Forgettaboutit! Go to Tyler's! Visited this morning. The man working here (probably the owner) was very friendly and seems like a hard worker. There was a great selection of doughnuts. The prices were fair given what else is available in the area. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. People can argue all day about who has "the best" of a certain type of doughnut (I could as well) but this place certainly earns five stars in my opinion. I actually went here a few weeks back, but Yelp did not let me log in for a couple of weeks because, hey, software is hard to get right. Looking over my notes and rating, I really do not understand why I gave Tyler's Donut House three stars instead of two, but I am not going to change that rating now since I do the experience is now a bit foggy. Tyler's has some solid raised doughnuts. The dough is slightly bland , but only slightly bitter from over-leavening. The edges were somewhat crispy and the dough was soft, but kind of sliced-bready rather than chewy. I have actually never encountered this before, so I can only speculate that it may be have been caused by some combination of under-kneading and over-cooking. The cream doughnuts were not too remarkable, but their filling was slightly less sour than average, so they were good. Unfortunately, the apple fritters were somehow dry without being super crispy and rancid in taste without being oil-logged. Yuck! Sadly, the bar for old fashioneds is really low, so although these ones were somewhat overcooked, had petals that were not fully opened, and had a slightly-off flavor in their spicing (sorry, but I have no recollection of what this particular flavor was), they were better than average. The crullers were a bit of a disappointment, but they were not bad. Nobody screws up crullers to any great extent. They were a little on the dry side without being super crispy. As for the flavoring, they were rich, but also slightly bitter and not that sweet. Too bad. All-told, Tyler's Donut House is a forgettable doughnut shop, but one that has mostly reliably average doughnuts. Just avoid the fritters. read more
