Nowadays, with cars requiring dealership service for almost everything, I decided to purchase an extended warranty through Chrysler. The warranty allows me to take my vehicle to any Chrysler dealership I choose. I've used several dealerships for warranty work, and this time I chose Tyson Chrysler in Joliet simply because it was close and convenient. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating. My vehicle had rattling noises coming from both the front and rear, and I had no A/C. I called in August and was given an appointment for September 17. I was just notified after about a week that they finally received the warranty approval, and now I'm being told I could be waiting another five to seven days for the front sway bar links and A/C compressor. But what really concerns me is what I was told about the rear of the vehicle. I was told they don't know what is wrong with the rear because the front is making too much noise for them to determine what is happening in the back. Their solution is to repair the front first and then diagnose the rear. So I'm potentially looking at close to two weeks for the front sway bar links and A/C compressor to be repaired, and only after that will they even be able to determine what is wrong with the rear. That explanation is extremely difficult to understand. It leaves me feeling like I'm being pushed toward another warranty claim instead of having the vehicle properly diagnosed in the first place. For comparison, I previously took the same vehicle to Greenway Chrysler in Morris for warranty work on a radiator. I was in and out in approximately three days. One day they diagnosed the problem and submitted the paperwork, the next day the warranty paperwork was approved, and the following day I picked up my vehicle. The process was straightforward, efficient, and clearly communicated. My experience with Tyson has been the complete opposite. It took almost a week just to get the paperwork submitted and approved, and now I'm being told I have to wait another five to seven days for the parts and repairs before they can even diagnose the rear of my vehicle. If this is the level of service their service writers and technicians are providing, I have serious concerns. Telling a customer they have to replace one part in the front of their minivan before they can continue diagnosing another separate problem in the back of the minivan is not the type of service I expect from a Chrysler dealership. Based on this experience, I strongly do not recommend Tyson Chrysler for service. I would also think twice about purchasing a vehicle from this dealership if this is the level of service and communication customers can expect after the sale. When purchasing a brand-new Chrysler and knowing you may have to rely on the dealership for warranty work, choosing the dealership you trust matters. Based on my experience, I would recommend looking at dealerships such as Greenway Chrysler in Morris or Bettenhausen rather than Tyson. Customers deserve better communication, better diagnostics, and a warranty process that doesn't leave them waiting weeks just to find out what is wrong with their vehicle. read more

This is the second time I've had my car in for major repairs (over $2000). The last time it took over a month! And it's the same bullshit both times. They say they'll get right on it and the they tell you the parts are coming in in a couple days and now it's been two weeks without my car and they won't help out with a loaner!!! It a water pump and I'm already quoted about 2500$ on the job and they can't get it done in a reasonable time? No. . . They can't be honest with me about the ETA on a part!? This is F-ing 2026 with blockchain inventory and tracking of packages and they can't get a god damn OEM water pump!!?? read more

I went into Tyson Jeep in Shorewood, IL on Friday 9/12 @ 12:30pm, as advised by a Jeep Wave representative regarding the paint bubbling on my 2021 Gladiator. And to get a letter from the Service department referring to who they use for bodywork & paint. When I approached the Service Desk, and inquired about the letter / referral the Jeep Wave Rep asked me to obtain to honor the warranty. William Biciste immediately stated " I'm not giving you a letter, I'm not helping you at all" Then he started ranting at me stating " What's going to happen to the other customers that's waiting, I'm not helping you". Then he stated "Did you buy it from here". I told him no, I purchased it at the Jeep dealership that sold in Chicago a few years ago (Mancari's) "Well why don't you take it back there" he replied. And I said Tyson is closer to my residence. He walked away. I thought since I purchased a Jeep, I thought I would be able to receive assistance or service from any location. And not demeanored in any fashion because I purchased at a different Jeep Dealer. This individual would not help me the least. I had a windshield repaired a few years ago and he treated me the same way. Like I was bothering him, or he just didn't care for assisting a Jeep Owner. Or maybe even my Nationality. I really found this very unprofessional being in a Retail Segment. Way too many Jeep / Dodge / Chrysler Delaers in the area. Do yourself a favor, and save your headaches Consumer.. Shop elsewhere for your car.. You'll thank yourself in the long run.. read more

Absolute garbage dealership. Every time I've brought a vehicle in Ive had issue. Most recently, I brought my truck in for a recall on the trailer wiring harness. I was told it should be about an hours work but just in case it takes longer I was given a courtesy vehicle. Two and a half days later, and after 4 unanswered phone calls, I found out my vehicle still wasn't brought back to be worked on. I told them I was coming to pick it up and I was not going to be refueling it as compensation for the wasted time. No protests by the service advisor or his manager at the time. Five business days later they charged my account for the fuel. When I called and explained to them what was discussed they responded with "you signed a contract". They're the most ignorant, money hungry and shady dealership. Even Chrysler isn't off limits to their level of shadiness, evident by them seeking reimbursement for 4 days for the 2.5 days I had the courtesy vehicle. Id absolutely avoid this place. read more

Horrible service department. Deceptive practices. Rude to customers. Wouldn't answer my question, then said not to complain to him (service worker). He said "my name isn't Tyson" then pointed to the word Tyson on the desk in front of him. So I asked for service manager, he said "Can't you see his door is closed?". I called to get a quote on replacing the front turn signal bulb on my Durango citadel. Tyson quoted for the labor $412.50. The cost of the bulb they quoted $11. It seems a bit steep to replace a turn signal bulb. Update. I called Bettenhausen Chrysler in Tinley Park and asked for the same service. $18.73 including labor and parts. I drove up there went through the express lane and they had it replaced in 10 minutes. That's the truth. read more

Never take your vehicle here! Went there for power train warranty work, for Chrysler remanufactured v6 engine, which was leaking oil from the valve head, after four days of driving. The service writer was curt from the get-go. As soon as he heard power train warranty, I was told they won't cover it and his Director would have to look at it, but very busy, and didn't how long. I was then ignored (dismissed). Went to Bettenhausen Dodge and was welcomed with open arms! They will honor the power train warranty and are on it. From the comments I've read on Yelp, this dealership is pretty bad. I'd leave -0 stars if I could. read more

TYSON MOTORS IN SHOREWOOD IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We would leave 0 if we could.....RUN DO NOT EVEN ATTEPT THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. We have decided against our better judgement to give this location another chance. Needed an Oil change, Tire rotation and a warranty issue with the clock. The vehicle does not get driven often. (less then 24,000 miles on a 2017 Chrysler 300 S. The oil change was done. The tires were rotated and we were informed we needed a new set and there is nothing they can do about the existing warranty that normally comes with the tires. Said it was out of their hands. Amazing the tires were warrantied under Firestone. Also, a clock issue that was on warranty. Josh the Service ticket writer was told about all these issues at the time. I contacted the service manager to tell him the issue with the trim falling off both side of the center council. He instructed us to bring the car in at which we did to get it looked at. Husband gets there and the service manager was busy but was told that he could be helped by someone else. Long story short after a lot of aggravation and going back and forth with the service people and the original service person my husband left. Amazing the service person who was assigned to us when the car was being worked on could remember the oil change and rotation but nothing about the clock issue from the 12th of August. We were told at that visit that his tires needed to be replaced due to wearing before their time. they quoted us a fortune for new tires that should have been pro-rated. They said there is no way of doing this he would have to buy new tires. Amazing we contacted FIrestone (the tires that came with the car) and they replaced the tires and had us out the door same day no issues at all. HMMMMM can you say shady? Now we come to the clock issue and of course it is not listed on the paperwork and the original person who took the service ticket can't remember anything about a warranty issue with the clock. Oh but he remembers my husband and the Oil change, tire rotation and after a reminder the Tire quote. HMMMMM The clock was fixed on that day however there is not an issue with the entire center being loose and the trim falling off. So my husband gets back Home and I again contact Tyson to speak with Mike the Manager in the service department to be told he was busy with a customer and my husband spoke with the other 2. That he was not involved with This. Transfers me to some Mario who supposedly spoke to Josh the original ticket writer and Josh remembers nothing of course about a clock. They keep bringing up that service has not been done there at this location. THIS IS WHY WE STOPPED GOING HER IN THE FIRST PLACE ALTHOUGH THEY ARE CLOSER. All about what they can over charge people to pad their pockets. Tried to get in touch with the owner of this location and of course you can't. Again, waiting for the district manager which according to Mario has overhead it all to see what he plans to do to take care of this. I have a call into corporate also. I am not going to be charged for something that they did to my vehicle. Seems like we were hoping that we would not notice until after the warranty expired. read more

Picked up our Jeep today from the service center. Upon drop off, the lady working the desk had an attitude. It's 9am, not even a single good morning or hello. All I got was "phone number" and "recall?". So later when I came to pick up the Jeep, the cashier handed me my keys and said it's outside. I walk through the showroom and soon find out that car isn't outside at all. I walk back through the showroom and a sales person asks if they can help, but when I explain the situation, all I get was a "huh, that's weird they usually bring it up". Then proceeds to tell me they usually keep the cars on the opposite side of service intake. Still no offer to have anyone pull the car around. It's 30 degrees outside and snowing. I ended up walking all the way behind the dealership to find my car in the back. Upon leaving the lot, I see multiple employees take a smoke break... thanks for the help. We purchased a Pacifica from Tyson in August 2016. We also purchased the maintenance plan and the extended warranty knowing we would have the vehicle for a few years and thought establishing a relationship with the dealer would be good. However, oil changes through their express lane takes an appointment and 3-4 hours. I have another brand of vehicle and take it to the dealership for service and oil changes and a complete multipoint maintenance only takes 45-60 minutes. Being busy people, we don't have 3-4 hours to wait for basic service. Lastly, we took the vehicle in last July for an HVAC issue. They fixed the HVAC, but we noticed our driver door was damaged. My wife called the dealer and sent numerous e-mails and pictures. The service department management either changed personnel or kept handing us off, but never replied nor did they solve the issue. So, I reported it to Chrysler, and that was equally as worthless as they stated it had to be dealt with at the dealer level and they could do nothing for us. So, we have a damaged door which is one of three marks on the car. I was promised by folks of which I could name, but will not that it would be fixed. Be warned, this is an irresponsible and poorly ran dealership. I base this on being in a sales/marketing role in the industry, and those whom value a customer fix issues and run efficient dealerships. We will not purchase from them again, and we have taken maintenance business to another Chrysler dealer. read more

I bought my car from this tyson and have come here for everything my jeep needed. I have never had such trouble with a business. We came in the other day for a oil change through the express lane. According to your website and google it opened at 6:30am, I arrived before then to make sure we can get in and out and not waste our whole day. The employee told us they don't accept walk in's until after 7:30am? That is not stated on your website? So we had to leave and come back around 7:30 and then wait for hours because when we got back the employee said there was a long wait. Just horrible customer service read more

TERRIBLE experience. I ended up not purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, and the owner can thank salesman Bob Adams for losing a customer. I am an out-of-state buyer and called about a vehicle they had advertised. I spoke with Bob and told him I had a trade -- a 2018 very low mileage vehicle in showroom condition -- and I told him how much I owed and that any deal was contingent on the dealership paying off the loan. I already had two other dealerships offer to pay off my loan if I bought the car they had advertised. On the day Bob and I spoke, I get an email from him hours later telling me sorry for the delay, that it had been extremely busy (total BS). Then I don't hear from Bob for days -- phone call or email -- so I call the dealership twice and leave Bob a voicemail and also email him. He doesn't return my calls or email. Basically I have to chase this guy down, which is totally unprofessional on his part. I finally reach him and he tells me he was in a meeting (MORE BS) and that he is literally sitting there working on my deal (MORE BS!). He then informs me that he didn't call me or email because he didn't want to give me negative news, which was that the dealership wouldn't be able to offer me anywhere near what I was asking for my showroom condition vehicle. Then Bob proceeds to quote me KBB pricing for my vehicle (NO! that is now how it is done, Bob), which is not only absurd but just plain stupid, because this is not how a dealership is supposed to determine the trade in value of a car such as this. WOW.....just plain awful. As I stated previously, I already had TWO dealerships offering me what I wanted but no, Bob the salesman is going to offer me....get ready for it.................EIGHT THOUSAND LESS. LMAO......8000 DOLLARS LESS! I know that not all dealers will offer the same for a trade but c'mon now.....8000 less????? Yeah, nice try, BOB. I'm not selling your dealership my showroom condition LOW MILEAGE 2018 car with an MSRP of 50K for EIGHT THOUSAND BELOW what it is worth so your GREEDY dealership can make a boatload of money on the resale. The balls on this guy......ROFLMAO. In retrospect, i'm very happy NOT to do business with Bob Adams or his scammy dealership. I can get the car I want at other dealerships and get the price I want for my car and a great deal on the car I want. I don't need to travel six hours to Illinois to be ripped off by a hapless salesman and his greedy dealership. Best of luck BOB selling your vehicle, which has been sitting on your lot for 165 days, along with the 30 other same model vehicles your dealership hasn't been able to sell. I drive a 2019 Jeep Cherokee purchased at this dealership in 2018. The car is an absolute lemon. The car was brought in for service while under warranty multiple times and each time the problem would come back shortly after or persist like no work was done at all. The car is now out of the absolutely pitiful 36,000 mile three year warranty and the problems continue to rack up. I greatly recommend Tyson Motor Corporation if you are in the market for a new vehicle. From start to finish, the team at Tyson Motor Corporation was a pleasure to work with. Kaitlyn was my 1st point of contact. She listened to the criteria of my search (model, price range, etc.) and invested a week's time exchanging emails, texts and phone conversations with me. Andy (salesperson) maintained the high level of customer service Kaitlyn provided. Adam (sales manager) and Jim (GM) provided the terms that my family was comfortable with. JP (finance director) closed the deal in record time. Shout out to the porter who prepped the car for me to take home and the 2 gentlemen who drove my other car back to LG. Had a wonderful experience til we met the finance 'director', JP. My wife and I showed up before the dealership opened to look around. We were shortly met by JR, our salesman. We have nothing but good things to say about him, he's very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. We also appreciated the general sales manager Aaron for saying Thank You. We're not wealthy by any means, and went to Tyson to get an honest, average deal which is what we believe we received, thank you for that Tyson. It was all going so well, til we met JP. What an arrogant, condescending person he is. I'm THERE, we could've gone to any other dealer, spending my hard earned money and we get an attitude from this pretentious 'director'. I understand he has to try to upsell us extended warranties and such, but when I decline it, don't give me consternation and condescension like I've never bought a car before and am some infant. We were their first sale of the day, spending over 40k of our hard earned dollars and we have to be subjected to JP telling me he's 'shocked' because we don't want to spend even more money on his extended warranties and insurance. I have to tell you, our experience was ruined by JP. I'd return to Tyson again for future purchases, if he wasn't there.
