The "supervisor" Angel was disrespectful, and unprofessional to my wife when she returned to the store as directed by the staff of this location. Here's what happened....I was stranded on the side of the road, he would not rent a motorcycle trailer to my wife because the tail lights were broken on the trailers they had. So he made her wait until the morning. Morning came and he half-assed his job causing damages to our towing electrical connection. He didn't make sure the connection was tight and somewhere along the trip it gave way causing our connector to drag on the ground and break. My wife mentioned it to a staff member when we returned the trailer and he advised us to return and speak to the supervisor. So we returned and the kid told us "I didn't even connect the trailer at the time I took the photo"(I think that's a policy or something idk). Then told my wife "it's nothing that I did" she responded with "isn't it your job to make sure everything is connected before the trailer leaves the lot?" He said "well ya but the picture I took doesn't have it connected so your on your own..." What kind of business is this? U-Haul has been at the bottom rung in customer service for many years. And this location, with their manager "Donnell" is the epitome of why U-Haul is so horrible. Firstly it's important to recognize all of the extra charges that U-Haul perpetuates upon its customers which ends up doubling or tripling what you may anticipate ($25 for "unfolded" furniture pads!). Secondly, the massive prices that you pay only add insult to the injury of the awful "customer service reps" who, like at this location, basically look right through you while you're seeking their help - or don't even look up while you're looking directly at them. No smiles, no kindness, no courtesy from the vast majority of the people that we encountered at this location. Never again will we patronize U-Haul. read more

Make sure to check you mileage when you leave. These guys are notorious for misrepresenting miles and jacking you on the other end. I was jacked out of an additional $40 in mileage I never used because I check everything except the mileage when I left. I tried to dispute it with the manager onsite and he was oh so unhelpful and unfriendly. Then I tired to dispute it with my cc company and he denied it again. I hope the $40 was worth the 1 star. Stop stealing your customers money, I can see this is not the first time you've done this to your customers. PS: My reservation was for a location closer to my house as well, but I was made to go to this shop which is 10 miles further from my house so I was already being jacked for an additional 20 miles I didn't want to pay for either. read more

When I brought it back, I was disappointed to find the person who checked me in had a snarky attitude and made a few remarks about my personal choices. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The fact that dealing with this company was the only stressful part of my move is upsetting. Employees were OVERLY rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. First and foremost, they tried jipping us about $80 bucks. They tried telling us we drove 74 miles! Stopped in needed a trailer wiring adapter for our 92 Bronco. The employee Ray, found the part we needed and to make sure we had the correct one he came out and tried a couple until he found the correct one, he also took the time to make sure all the lights worked correctly. Kudos to Ray for going the extra mile in making sure we had just what we needed. I highly recommend using this Uhaul for any rental or if you need to have trailer hitch or wiring done. I'll start off saying that this could have easily been a 5 star review. Everything was good with my initial U-haul experience, until I received my receipt via email. They leave blankets and a dolly in the truck in case you need, but you're not supposed to be charged unless you break the seal and use them. In my case I never used the dolly and definitely did not break the seal. However, it was until afterwards when I received my receipt via email that I saw I was charged for the dolly. I thought, no big deal, I'll just email them and I'm sure they'll correct their mistake. 3 days later, no response. So I called and spoke with the GM and he assured me that every employee always checks the seals and they only charge if they are broken. Most companies when they use a seal have seal numbers to verify every time, but apparently uhaul doesn't. I guess I should have read other customer review beforehand. And if you do rent from here, make sure you verify everything before you leave. read more

I went in a few days ago and was VERY disappointed, there's employees dating employees. The whole reservation Casey was hugging Ray and being touchy feely, and made me very uncomfortable. Overall very unprofessional of them. I spoke with one of my friends who recommended this specific U-Haul and he said that he has noticed this behavior as well. Something needs to be done about this, there's a time and place for relationships and loving on your significant other and at work is definitely not the place. read more

On 09/30/16, I was financially responsible for my ex-wife's (Lauer) rental of a F150 for a total of 3 days that was advertised by U Haul as $19.95 a day. They charged me $636. for all this, no warning given to me, which is crazy. My Credit Card was charged $95. for a full tank of gas plus a $35. fee to pump the gas. $316. for a weeks rental of the truck. $35. for returning a Refrigerator dolly a day later. $41 for a used rental furniture blanket not returned. And $35 to clean the truck. For this kind of money I would have hired the Movers, and next time I will. They have lost my business. The one star above is too good. Zero stars from me. I came in to return a truck and let me tell you about their service, only one man is doing all the work, he is running back and forth helping others with only 1 out of 3 computers working. The guys name is Mason, he did a fantastic job and very professional. This place needs more people like him that care about giving good service and more computers that actually work. Glad we have a U haul so close to my office to work on my trucks for trailer towing packages and trailer breaks and repairs for everything. They are usually busy here so you may not get in an out but they are always nice and they get the work done same day for a reasonable price. read more

To all who might want to read my past week experience with U-Hual. I make a reservation with U-Haul and discuss the details and I'm given an amount for a one way move from California to Phoenix, Arizona, in a 15ft. truck of $594, plus insurance $42, additional fees of $12, $10 and $10, which equals $668 total. This is agreed and my pick up is in Moreno Valley on Sunnymead blvd on April 8th, 2018. I also get the rental truck for 3 days that until April 11th, 2018. I travel to Moreno Valley from Arizona to pick up the truck on the April 8th in Moreno Valley, Sunnymead location and I'm told its no longer there and the pick up has moved to another location in Moreno Valley, someone should have called me, which I said didn't receive a call or email of this change. So i get to the new pick up point and now told the new total is $711, which no includes taxes and pick up fees. We get to our destination in Phoenix, Arizona and find out the new place won't be ready for move-in until possibly the following week. Now what do we do with rental truck? So we now jump to April 10th, 2018, and decide to get a storage unit for the appliances and we unload a 3rd of the stuff in the U-haul. I then call U-haul to discuss our situation about needing the rental truck longer and how much extra would it cost. I speak to a gentleman from customer service and explain the details and if there is any U-haul might be able to help us out? He looks over my account and says it might be possible for you to get a in state local rate for $29.95, per day but I would need to take the rental truck into the drop of address and confirm with whomever is working there this day before they close. The customer service representative says he will put notes in the system so that our discussion will be there for the worker to read at the my drop of location and anybody who might need to refer to our conversation. I say thank you for his help and that i'll head over there immediately. I arrive at the drop of U-haul destination and speak to the general manager of the store. He at first says there's no way i can keep the rental truck the extra days because he doesn't allow me to finish my explaining that its a one-way rental. Once he hears that its a one-way rental he then says ohhh in that case yes you can keep the rental for however many days i may need it. So i ask him what the charge would be per day and he says $42 plus insurance per day. I said i spoke with your customer service member and he said you might be able to help me out with a in state rate because i brought in the rental truck as a temporary turn in. He then reads the notes and says ok let see what can be done. He prints out a part of my contract and says the in state rate plus insurance would be $29.95, plus $12 for insurance, total $42, per day. I said thank you and go talk it over with my family member who has witnessed this conversation that general manager of the store has agreed that it would be $42, per day extra. April 11th, 2018, the new place calls and says we can move in our new stuff on Friday, April 13th, 2018, which is great news. The next day i call U-Haul and explain i'll only be needing the rental truck until the 13th, no later than 11pm. The customer representative confirms with me that it'll be two day extra charge at $42, per day plus extra if the gas is low. I said I'm calling to make sure that this is the correct amount per day and what i will owe on Friday, April 13th? She (customer service representative) says yes that is the correct amount owed and I have put the notes into the system. I say thank you for your help and hand up. I return the rental truck on Friday, April 13th at 7:55pm with a little over a quarter full of gas which is how it was given to me. I see the general manager working after hours and he says to me "just leave the keys in the truck" he'll process it . I say back to ok sounds good and I take off and my journey is finally over, no so.The next day Saturday, April 14th, I check my checking account balance i see that U-haul charged me $177 and not the $84 that was agreed upon. I immediately call U-haul and speak to a lady from the after hours customer service line and she says that i was charged an extra day because i did not return the rental truck at 10:30am. I was also charge $42 plus insurance and out of state fees, lastly $6 for gas. I said that's completely wrong and go on to explain what i had confirmed with two people from U-haul and the general manager of the drop off site. She then says you need to speak with customer service and before i can say anything she transfers me. Now I'm put on hold for around 20 minutes before speaking to someone else from customer service. A gentleman takes my call from customer service and I go on to explain the whole ordeal in detail as to what was agreed upon and how i'm really upset with U-haul and it business process with its customers. Really disappointed with the service at this location. first off I reserved a pick up truck and received an email confirmation that it was available. When I arrived to pick it up they didn't have it. They were rude and unapologetic. They sent me to the location up the road and they proceeded to tell me that the $50.00 guarantee if they don't have the truck you ordered only applies if they call you to tell you that they have the truck and when you get there it isn't there. So basically their guarantee is that there is no guarantee. I got the truck that I needed but I will never rent another truck from the dunlap location again. The black dude with the braids called the woman who had not yet returned the truck that I had reserved and while I didn't hear what she said, he blatantly called her a liar. She was late returning the truck but this employees customer service skills need some work. You should never call a customer a liar to their face even if they are lying to you. Just do what any other company would do.. . be polite on the phone, then hang up and talk crap about them. read more
