If I can leave a 0 star I would ... as everyone else states this location will not answer your phone calls. And this location will charge you for stuff that isn't your fault. We are movers and they tried to charge us for anything that they could even after renting worth 50k + on this company. The most unfortunate thing it's an actual moving storage. There is U-Haul neighbor hood dealer just down the street from them but they actually care and actually have good customer service. If you don't want be in line for 30 min and have charges for stuff that isn't your fault don't come here and just go to any other U-Haul ... worst experiences ever here read more

*** BEWARE*** Do not rent from the Uhaul on Van Buren in Riverside Address: 3600 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside CA 92503 Zach G - Store Manager Zach will scam you if he is given the opportunity. I'm posting this because I have a feeling we aren't the first ones that he has done this to and we are not the last. My husband rented a Uhaul van on March 11th. When he returned it a couple hours later, Zach said he damaged it, showing a small ding on the side of the van. My husband did not hit anything and there's no way that it could have been damaged. Zach was stating that my husband caused damage to the van and if he paid today it would be around $450 right then. However, if he paid later it would be about $800. Unfortunately, my husband didn't take pictures of the van before he left their lot. It was raining and he was rushing. Definitely not smart on my husband's side. When he returned, my husband asked him to show him the video of when he received the van, as it would clearly show if the damage was there or not before he left. (There is a surveilence camera set right at that spot and it was clearly showing another van parked in the same place, and also clear enough to make out those types of details). He asked to see the video as it was playing, but Zach wouldn't allow him to. Instead, he went into the office for 10+ minutes and emerged with a grainy, zoomed in picture of what could be any of the vans there (no plate or any other distinguishing mark). He asked for any type of documentation from past rentals that shows no damage. Zach said no. My husband was just asking Zach to show him anything besides the picture that Zach showed with the damage. Zach would not. It's pretty easy to presume that someone else, possibly an employee, had dinged the van and it could now be taken care of without cost or blame to the store. They were hoping that we would pay for their mistake. I contacted our insurance company to see what our options were. It would be covered, but obviously our insurance rates would go up. I contacted Uhaul corporate a couple times. I wanted to see if they would be able to pull up any history of this vehicle. They would only transfer me to their insurance company. About a month later we received a letter from their insurance that now says we owe $1,362.00. I emailed the company rep and explained everything. I explained what my husband said, what he asked Zach for, how we have no problem with paying as long as there was no history of this damage. TODAY the rep emailed me back. They stated **"I have closed the claim as pre-existing damages. I was able to locate photos of the same damage prior to this claim. I have closed the claim and no further action will be taken. He does not need to reach out to them any longer."** Meaning that Zach knew full well that my husband didn't cause this damage but still tried to demand money because my husband made the mistake of not taking pictures. We could have claimed this on our insurance. Our rates would have gone up. If we didn't claim it we would have paid $1,362. This is gross and I will be contacting Uhaul corporate again. This is disgusting that Zach thinks he can do it and get away with it. It's gross if Uhaul knows about it and hasn't done anything. read more

I wish I could give this place 1 star. I'm extremely disappointed in my experience here. My fiancé had reserved the 15 foot truck for the ramp and we Made a reservation ahead of time. When we showed up, they only had the 20 foot truck available. They ended up charging us more for the larger truck when that's not what we reserved. We spent days trying to get in contact with the manager to have him argue that they had to charge us more money for the truck that we did not want. Maybe don't have a working QR CODE to request propane fills after 6:30 if you don't fill propane after 6:30? Or put it on your website... or even a sign??!? I showed up at 6:40pm. Used the QR to "request propane" waited... nobody came out. Used QR again... nobody came out. 5 minutes before closing I go inside and dude tells me, "No propane after 6:30." Wow. Cool so I stood outside for 15 minutes for no reason? That's bad business, U-Haul. Better fix that! read more

I was snookered (lied to) and told if I agreed to just let them attach a trailer and then I pulled it to my destination, they'd give me a $700 credit! Simple right? Well, it turned that the trailer was TWICE as big as promised and had TWO huge boxes strapped on it. So I had to pull this extra 8,000 pounds of cargo and barely made it over the Grapevine and ended up using TWICE the amount of gas that my brother used for a similar move!! So there went the $700 credit....NEVER AGAIN Uhaul and I advise everyone else to think twice about taking the deal if they dangle cash in your face! You might get snookered too....... read more

Absolute morons working here. Came to get a hitch installed and they broke two of the pieces off that attach my bumper to the body of car. Complained immediately and had to get their insurance company to replace it. Which they did. They paid in full, but the young employees working here didn't even seem to get what an egregious mistake they made. They're clueless. Avoid these incompetent .... at all costs. read more

Horrible place! If you rent online and pick up here be ready to pay 3 times more than they quote you online. I was quoted for $44 and when I picked up the Uhaul I had to pay $199! They said that's another price because I want to return it at another location! I told them to tell me where does that say in the contract I'm signing and of course they DON'T HAVE IT! Hello to the Yelp Community. This review is a tad bit hard to write, but if you notice, I gave it 5 stars, and here is the reason why. I had initially ordered my trailer from a different location that was 1.5 miles away from my home. I got there, and the previous person who had rented the trailer, hadn't returned it yet. She called them and turns out, they are keeping it an extra day....No warning, no phone call, no nothing....I won't give her 1 star, because she got on the horn and tried to find me another trailer. Good news, there's another one, 10 miles away.... Fast forward to 10 miles later, I drove to this location and was immediately greeted by Luis. Extremely nice guy, and on top of it, working hard with an injured hand. He got me situated and set up, connected the trailer and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes.... I gave the 5 stars, because Luis did an exceptional job customer service wise, the experience was less than 5 stars, more like 2 stars. I had to drive 40 miles, round trip, to come pick up this trailer....Have you seen gas prices? Anyway. 5 stars for Luis 3 stars for the first place that didn't have the trailer, 1 star for Uhaul, not having enough inventory to supplement the first place where the trailer was needed.... read more

However, after confirming with the front desk, they did indeed have it and I was able to fill up. I was having some issues with customer service with adding the correct miles to my contract but Chris a very helpful young man would not allow me to leave until scheduling corrected the error so that i would not be charged. Went to get 2 tanks of propane refilled and rang button for service, after 10 minutes of waiting I went inside to ask for help and was told by a female worker with horrible attitude to wait outside and someone would go assist me. 20 minutes after that I left. Kyle assisted with the drop-off and it too was painless and simple. Fees and estimates were at the mark from pick-up day and after a quick look over of the truck with Kyle, we were good to leave and end our U-Haul experience. Terrible customer service and ended having to pay upwards of $400 just to get a 15' truck for the day and pay for $100 of gas because I was told the truck had gas already in it but when I got in they truck was riding on E. Go the extra distance to go to another location that can actually help you and won't make you pay ridiculous amounts of money. I picked up a cargo van of which I had a reservation on Nov. 13th at 7 am. I was the first one there and was promptly checked in and taken to the van. I was told I would get a text to review condition and dispute anything I didn't agree with on text. Never got text. I was on a tight schedule so I left. 5 minutes later I was back at Uhaul to show them the van. When I going to load the van I found fast food wrappers and bags of trash, empty ice tea bottles, pistachio seeds in door pockets, chewed gum and wrappers in doors, oil change light on. Horrible condition! Returned and spoke to " owner " he pretty much told me tough luck we don't have anything else. Take it or leave it ! This is during covid and van was obviously never cleaned and maintenance needed. There were several vans and small moving trucks. All I was offered was a glove so I could clean the trash and seeds out myself. OWNER did tell another employee to clean out van and she told him no. I was on my way to a faire as a vendor so I had no choice but to clean it myself and take van. Upon returning I addressed my concerns AGAIN and was told oh sorry have a nice day. Stay clear of this location. They have no care for customers care, health or safety. read more

On July 3, 2019, I went in and Quiana was very busy. She greeted me with a smile. She listened to my situation and balanced handling the customers that were there ahead of me. She figured out what I needed. Found it in stock. She even installed it. Now she did all of this while still helping new customers and never made me feel like an inconvenience. Aside from the obvious fact this place is ridiculously under staffed, the teenage work force that IS present is inept. There's no reason to spend more than 40 minutes at ANY U haul facility once, let on consecutive occasions. Do your self a favor and take your business elsewhere, unless time is not a factor for you. Further more, this BS about "having" to have the dolly on board, zip tied, is complete fraud. It takes up much needed space in the trailer and makes no sense being forced to carry it when you didn't ask for it.
