If I could give them negative stars I would. These people are thieves. I had my items stored in my unit for almost 2yr. While living cross country. I was finally able to get into my unit only to find that an employee has stolen weapons, jewelry, clothes, shoes, makeup, etc... the GM is a joke as well as Amber the "manager". They refuse to check the cameras or show us pics unless we have a police report. I called the police while I was there and they wouldn't help. I called corporate and they show the same incompetence. Currently looking into legal action. Refrain from storing anything here. They are lazy, disgusting human beings. read more

My mom lost her job during the pandemic and because she didn't make the payments, they changed the locks and threatened to sell her stuff. We get there and I paid for it because I really wanted my brother's stuff because I'm moving out of state. I paid $200 to get the storage unlocked and everything is moved around. We ended up finding the baseball cards still in its bag underneath a cloth on top of a box. 2/3rds of my dead brother's baseball cards are missing. My mom has had them for about 30 years. I really hope something like this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Came to SmartStop in the middle of September. I explained we needed a small unit for long term storage and a large unit in October for a few months. Amber was very kind to explain the fees and size options. Then quoted the 10x20 storage for under 200 when we were ready. I came in today ready to rent the larger unit for the under $200 price. They would not honor the quote or give me any options. The promotion was not honored and when Amber was called to confirm the original price, not honored. To have a good reputation you hope business would keep their word and realize how important existing customer satisfaction is for their future. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I will be clearing my existing unit at the end of the month. Not worth spending my money on a business that lacks integrity. read more

Will not recommend this business to any of my friends or family. Outrageous prices & price gouging to exsisting loyal customers. For a 5x7 unit ... charge per month $84.00 . But NEW customers charged 40.00. I emptied out my unit & left it clean. They owed me 40.00 ( since I didn't rent for full month. Manager said NO REFUNDS ON UNUSED DAYS OF STORAGE. As the semester ended for my daughter I needed to store her items until the next semester. The lady at the front desk seemed willing to assist allowed me to place items mid month with issues just prorated the amount I would need to pay. However when it was time to take items out of storage I told her I only needed to store until the 8th she said she could not give me until then. I asked if she could prorate the rate like they did when we brought our items she said I would have to pay the full month. I had no choice so I did pay the whole month. I took my times out on the 8th and told my husband well we're paid up for the month if we need to store something else for the month. Today I received a termination agreement the lady said since I took my look they terminated my lease yet they have no intention on reimbursing me?? So basically I'm paid up for the month and given the opportunity they will rent my storage to someone else making money off of 2 people. That is wrong and I unethical. I will never return and hope people realize that they don't care about the customer just the bottom line. She could have had me as. Retuning customer for years with me also referring other families. I went to rent a unit yesterday and realized today that it was too small so I went to the office to see about getting a bigger unit they quoted me more for the next size then where I was currently storing things so I told them to go ahead and cancel the contract I was there exactly one night with my stuff and they refused to give me a pro-rated refund I wouldn't do business with these people again read more

My parents had a storage unit here for 20+ years. They died within a year and half of each other and the manager Alex worked with me to resolve everything quickly. I was very impressed with her professionalism throughout our interactions. It was a very stressful situation for me and Alex's approach helped me feel at ease. It would have been easy for SmartStop to drag out the paperwork and approval process to charge me at least an extra month, possibly more. But Alex resolved everything in a very timely manner.
