I had a very well organized and efficient experience at this U-Haul location. I have used U-Haul in two other locations and this one was the best one yet! Very friendly and efficient and fast service. Yes I had to wait a bit because it does take "time" to get customers set up for their rental. It super made it faster because I filed on line check in and it was all just a snap when I went in to pick it up. In reading the reviews I was hesitant but I live right down the street and decided to use them anyway. I am so glad I did. In reading the reviews, I just wanted to say.... they have signs all over their location telling you there is no "on site" parking for your car. They are very helpful in telling you where you can park without any worries. I will definitely use this location again. read more

U-Haul reservation system is a joke. Don't expect to get your truck at the location you "reserved" it at. Don't expect to get it for the price you "reserved" it at. What a joke. I "reserved" a 20" truck a month ago. Now, today, the day before our move. They call and say they don't have the truck, but that I can get the closest one on Whidbey Island. Yea, you heard that right. They forced me into a position where I had to spend 6 hours on a friday after work waiting for ferries, paying $60 for the ferry, to get the truck I "reserved" a month ago 3 miles from my house. After all that, the gentleman at the counter (who, himself, was very helpful, somehow did something in the computer whilst trying to update my drop off location that DOUBLED my price, and he couldnt fix it back. He called some corporate store number and they managed to take off a measly $30. Not the $200 they just up-charged me. I had to call the number myself and complain for 10 minutes and they dropped off another $40 or so. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with U-Haul. They should be sued. read more

Second time renting from this location for a quick local move. First time. . . no issues, so I had no qualms going back to them. This time, however, I refilled the tank in the van to the exact level it was when I took it out. I drove 13 miles and I put in a bit over 1.5 gallons of fuel in the tank just prior to returning. They lied and said that I returned it at less than the level at which I'd taken it out. I called to discuss. The immediate response was, "Did you take a picture?" Meaning, I assume, of the fuel gauge? No, why would I? Shouldn't I trust you to do the correct thing and not lie? His follow up statement was, "I'm dealing with real money here, and real amounts of liquid." So am I, my friend. So am I. Only I'm the one not trying to scam you. read more

After arranging to be out of work and plan for the 3 hour install process, I showed up for my appointment at 7am only to discover the installer wouldn't "be in until later" and "he was totally supposed to notify" me a few days ago. When I called to discuss the charge I was told that I should have used their app to check in the equipment and I did BUT IT WAS NOT WORKING. I really, really wish I had looked this business up on Yelp before trying to rent from them...fool me once, shame on me... I make a reservation ONE MONTH in advance of when I needed a trailer to move a household across the state. The website wouldn't allow me to make the 5 day reservation that I required, so I called and spoke to a woman (don't have her name), who ASSURED ME that the reservation was made for 5 days and made a special note in the comments field that she had made an exception to the two day limit! I got an email confirmation to the same effect, so I figured we're all good, right? UM, NO!!! I arrived to pick up the trailer on the day we needed to start loading up for the trip and NICK, THE MANAGER, said he couldn't possibly rent it to me for five days but he could let me have it for ONE DAY! He said another person had already reserved the trailer for the day after, so I was out of luck. I said that was ridiculous, that I'd made the reservation a month prior, that I'd spoken to a rep from his store who assisted me in making the reservation, and that my reservation should have blocked out the equipment from anyone else reserving it! Then he LIED and told me the other person had made their reservation before me--I asked for the date their reservation was made, and he gave me one that was two WEEKS after mine was made! (come on Nick, I have a confirmation email that's dated...why lie?) We obviously couldn't work with a ONE DAY rental when we required five days, so we had to leave without the trailer, and our entire week's plan of getting moved turned on its head! Thankfully I was able to rent a truck from another rental agency, but we were trying to avoid the mileage fee by towing with our vehicle...NICK's inability to run his business with any common sense or customer service COST ME HUNDREDS of dollars (on mileage) more than I had budgeted. NICK and this @Uhaul store are full of shit and I'll never TRY to rent from them again--in fact I'll go out of my way to let people know to avoid them at all costs! You've been warned... I had to be scheduled 4 Times to complete this service. 1st appt: cancelled because the facility garage door was broken, but no one called so I drove there for nothing. 2nd: Hitch installed, but needed wiring harness was not on hand. 3rd: booked for a Friday, no schedule in the books when I called to confirm. 4th: arrived, quoted roughly 2 hours to do work, return at 2 hours to be told another hour would be needed, which would have been fine but I had kids to pick up from school and no one informed me of extended time so I could make adequate arrangements, so my husband had to take vacation time to pick her up. Although the people are friendly, the service and communication are terrible. read more

I rang the buzzer for service and shortly after noticed that someone inside saw me. After waiting about 10 minutes, I went inside to find no one there. This is the worse uhaul I have ever been to they hung the phone up on me and when me and my fiance went inside the location Jason the customer service rep was horrible and even through my fiancee credit card at her. Long story short: didn't take before & after photos of the truck's interior and got charged $317 (yes, three hundred and seventeen dollars!) for the missing equipment (jack assembly). Should've checked the reviews first. I rented a UHaul van the day before - returned it in time with a full tank, no damages. Something made me stay during truck inspection and I explicitly asked if everything was good. Employee (the red-eyed guy mentioned in one of the reviews) inspected the van with me - he actually spent ~6 minutes to check the vehicle, he opened the back doors and checked it inside and then confirmed my charges ($67 for 28 miles trip including extended insurance & utility dolly) and said I was good to go. He showed me the final statement with his smartphone and confirmed my email address. He pressed buttons and I received the receipt stating my final charges of $67. I did a fatal mistake - didn't take any photos of the vehicle's interior. 15 minutes after I had left employees discovered that the jack assembly was missing, filed a claim and billed my credit card. I received a new statement early next morning around 4am. I visited the store and tried to negotiate the situation. Manager told me that he put a new jack that cost ridiculous price of $317 three days ago (what a nice coincidence). They didn't even try to notify me (I've just left, you remember) or let me buy them a new replacement jack (you can get a new one for $100 from gmpartsstore.com for instance - I assume the dealer's price would be higher but not three times). The guys also have no evidence that the jack wasn't there at the moment I returned the van and was inspecting it with the uhaul representative. As per manager they "missed it but found it out later when they cleaned the van". You can easily see the jack on the right interior wall in the back of the van and it can be easily spotted when you open the back doors. Uhaul employee spent a few minutes checking the cargo space and could have noticed that the jack was missing but didn't tell me anything. I have never had any issues with any other Uhaul stores. Based on my personal experience I don't recommend this particular location. Lessons learned - whenever you rent a truck, make a video of everything inside and ouside, check jack, spare tire, take pictures of everything you see. read more

We intend to move from Kenmore, WA to near Palm Springs, a very long haul. My intent was to rent a large van here to make the move in several weeks. I had been buying boxes and tape there for weeks, and recently visited the place again with the same intent. I noticed that the handicapped parking place where we usually park, with the appropriate sticker, was taken by a rental truck. I told one of the employees about this and, red faced and enraged, he advanced on me in a very aggressive manner screaming (literally) "get your ass out of here" several times and making threatening gestures, he was only inches away at one point. Obviously I left with no intention to buy anything more or rent a van from them. I reported this to the Kenmore Police and shortly after, I noted that the handicapped parking place was available. Maybe they got an expensive ticket, but certainly they lost a customer. I have never seen a company with more bad reviews. read more

Awful experience. I called to specifically ask whether they could install a tow hitch that I provided. The person on the phone assured me that they would, but reserved the right to refuse if the part didn't look like it fit or wasn't in good condition. I asked them to quote me a price, and they did, assuring me it was the same installation fee whether I bought the hitch from U-Haul or provided it myself. When I arrived, the sales person refused to even look at the hitch, and claimed that they "only installed hitches that U-Haul sold, because they don't make any money on the installations." I would have gone to a different store if I had known, which was why I called ahead and got a quote! I have not had such poor service in many years, and I will absolutely never visit this location again. I had also reserved a moving van for the day, and although I didn't want to spend any more money at U-Haul, I didn't have time to set up another rental. So I took the van anyway, and the sales person said to me "the gas tank is full, just be sure to return it full." I drove away, and then thought to look at the gas gauge, and it was barely over 7/8 full. I took a picture with my phone, and when I was done driving I filled the tank up with the amount of gas I thought I had used. I mentioned to the sales person when I returned the van that the tank wasn't full when I got it, and they did not even apologize for the tank not being full, let alone the fact that they lied right to my face about it. I had an appointment for a trailer hitch installation which was supposed to take 1 hour. The mechanic was on break for the first half hour of my appointment so there was a delayed start. Then the installation took an hour and a half which was annoying but at least reasonable. The quality of the installation looked to at least be decent. Another observation was that the whole business just seemed to be understaffed or maybe I happened to walk in during an unexpectedly busy time, but there was only one employee at the counter so it took a while to check in (since he had to keep leaving to pull trucks around for customers). So if this is anything like a typical afternoon, don't expect to be in and out quickly when coming here. read more

I received a call 2 days before my reservation that they didn't actually have my truck available and that I would have to go to the North Seattle locations which isn't even close to where I am moving from or to. No compensation for the mileage or time it will take for the new location. read more

Had a family emergency and needed a van, so I made my reservation online at 10 PM on a Saturday night and it was ready and waiting for me at noon the next day. Check in was super easy and the people were friendly. Check out was also super easy. I've read a lot of negative reviews of this location but I did not have that experience. read more

I had a hitch installed on my vehicle last week. When I left UHaul, I was never informed there was any problem. However, I immediately heard a very loud rattle from the back of the car. I was not able to get scheduled again at the UHaul for a full week for them to look at my car to figure out what was wrong. When they finally could schedule me (unfortunately you can't talk directly to a person in the store...the phone automatically gets routed to someone in Arizona) I took the car back and the people at UHaul tried to adjust some things to fix the rattle. I drove off the lot and was told it was fixed. Needless to say, the rattle was not fixed. Every time I turned right, I heard a very loud rattle again. I immediately drove it back and was told that the problem was not the hitch, but something with my car. There is nothing wrong with my vehicle (Toyota Sienna). The owner agreed to remove the hitch, but would not refund my money for the installation. I feel this is poor customer service. I took my car to Rack N Road and they then installed a different hitch (about double the cost of UHaul, unfortunately) and this hitch makes NO noise at all and I feel much more comfortable driving around with a Rack N Road hitch compared to a hitch from UHaul that clearly was not working out well for my vehicle. read more

This was the worst Uhaul experience I have ever had. I made a trailer reservation and received the confirmation that it was ready to be picked up. I drove 30 minutes to the Kenmore Wa location to get my reserved trailer. There was 1 customer in front of me and still had to wait over 40 minutes to be helped. While I was standing there I overheard the customer in front of me saying he went to another location and they gave away his trailer reservation and we was sent to the Kenmore Wa location to get a trailer. The rep asked if he was (my last name) and I spoke up and said no that's me. The rep then worked with this customer for another 20 minutes and while he was helping the customer, i received a call that went to VM. The rep suddenly said oh I now have a trailer for you and eventually the customer in front of me left. I was finally able to get to the counter where I was helped by Nick M who's name tag said owner. When I told him my name he then told me that he now suddenly doesn't have my trailer and that he gave my reservation to the guy in front of me. He then said that's how it works... because he reserved a trailer the day before he gets to take my reservation! I was so upset that he literally cancelled my reservation and gave it to a guy who didn't even reserve a trailer at this location! Nick the supposed manager/owner then said there was a trailer 25 minutes the opposite direction available for me. I told him that was way too far to drive and he then looked at me and said oh come on I drive that every day. At this point I was so mad I took a small trailer and left. As I was traveling home I listen to the voicemail and the call was from Uhaul customer service. The message was my trailer that I reserved was suddenly not working and was taken out of service. This again was a complete lie as I heard and was told they gave my trailer to another customer. Nick was so rude and didn't care if I was taken care of or not. If he is truly the owner I would recommend he go back to school and find a different job career. I would highly recommend some other rental facility.... anything other than Uhaul. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION. We came in the day before the move to reserve a truck and were told that they were fully booked except for a 14 footer that just came in. The guy said we could have it for 4 hours. The next day when we go in to pick up our truck and the manager (who was the only person on the floor, resulting in a 20-minute wait for us who are next up, and way more than that for the line of people that builds towards the door) tells us that we can't have it because the guy last night actually double-booked it by 2 hours. So we have to guarantee that we will get it back in half the amount of time we were scheduled for, or he can't let us take it. We give him the promises, he takes us to the truck and the gas level is overestimated by almost a quarter of a tank. By the time we get out of there, we've already lost 20-30 minutes because he didn't schedule enough personnel to handle the customer load (or the personnel didn't show up), so we end up having just an hour and a half to do everything. We bust our asses and get the truck back exactly at noon. But even after extracting promises from us, the manager doesn't even acknowledge our existence, let alone say thank you for getting it back in time. He's right there at the next register over with no customers, yet we are completely ignored. This U-Haul is RUDE, INCONSIDERATE and absolutely INCOMPETENT. Avoid it! read more

I WILL NEVER, EVER USE THEM AGAIN. I am in my mid 40's and have never taken the time to write a review about anything, let alone complain. My wife looks at me sideways when I tip 20% for less than stellar service, but I know what it's like to be in their shoes. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt simply because life and society works much better when you can let the little things go. This isn't one of those times. I made a reservation online to rent a cargo van for light moving of several old mattresses. When I arrived, I was told I couldn't park my car in their parking lot and would need to "hang a right at Jimmy John's and park somewhere over there, maybe the bank." 2 blocks later I walked in as 2 employees were behind the desk at 2 computer stations of a 3 station counter. Each 'lane' was partioned by long kiosks. I approached the younger attendant in the right lane and as I reached the counter, he told me to go to the next counter over. Fine, I thought, maybe he's just resting there. The next man asked if I had a reservation. I said yes, and then he asked me my last name. I told him, at which point he told me to walk around to the far lane. After being told I had to park 2 blocks away, then being shuffled through 3 lanes, I was beginning to wonder what was going on. He then asked me what my intentions were with the car. This was a bit personal, but I answered I would be moving some old beds to the dump. He then told me I couldn't have the cargo van because "people who have fine furniture won't want to use our vehicles if we allow that. I can rent you a pickup truck, and sell you a tarp to cover them." I was in absolute shock. First of all, if I am doing nothing illegal and/or immoral with it what business is it of yours so long as I return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received?! Secondly, I didn't realize there was a cargo value threshold for access to a cargo van. All this ran through my head, yet I said nothing except, "You know what? Never mind." He looked back down at his monitor and without looking up, said "Have a nice day." I never been so snubbed for service in my life, but didn't want to cause a scene. I left, cancelled my online reservation, and found far superior service from a local company. I will never patronize U-Haul again, ESPECIALLY this location! I have already warned several friends not to waste their time and money over such inattentive, unprofessional and smug "service." And no, saying "have a nice day" out the side of your mouth without even making eye contact does not constitute courtesy. WRETCHED SERVICE. read more

Never again for this location! A one hour hitch installation appointment was really 3.5. No apologies, no real concern. We had our children there and we're stuck for the entire afternoon. You can't even call the store directly to check in on the progress-you're routed through a call center. I'm usually pretty understanding but they could have cared less. read more

Was moving from Seattle to Los Angeles this passed fall (late October) and made the unfortunate mistake of going to this u-haul for a trailer hitch install. I'll keep this shortish. Made an appointment to come in and get a trailer installed on a Monday. Arrive ~15 minutes before the appointment, stroll into the store ready to spend the next 2 hours sitting in a Starbucks, only to be told flatly that making reservations over the phone doesn't actually reserve anything. I could get the install going in maybe like 5 hours, but wait, they don't have the parts because (again) my phone reservation from the week prior hadn't been effective. Alright, fine, let's reschedule, when can you have the parts? Wednesday probably? But you're not sure? Well, let's say Thursday then. Wednesday comes around and I call in the afternoon to see if they have the part. No not yet, isn't that weird, we thought it'd be here by the end of the business day but it's not. Alright, how about Friday then. I mean you said the parts would be over-nighted, but it's cool, level heads shall prevail. Friday rolls around. I bring the car in for my 10am appointment. Oh yeah, I've already got a guy in there, I just started, we can get your hitch started probably around noon. Really. This is the third appointment I've made and now it's going to be late. I leave on Monday, so fine, sure I'll come back. At least they took $30 off the service, but frankly that doesn't even cover all the gas used getting to and from them (my local u-haul had just lost their mechanic). Pretty bad experience all around, but maybe I caught them on a bad days. As a final frustration, they didn't actually have the proper hardware to go along with my hitch, so I had to go to a sister store for that. shortish. tl;dr: you can only make an appointment to ask for services, don't think you're so fancy that they'll actually let you plan ahead. read more

The guy I dealt with was just a complete jerk. I showed up 5 minutes before they opened and instead of ringing me up early he told me the store was closed and to get out. Ok... Came back in 5 minutes later and as he started to ring me up he asked where my car was parked. I told him I was there to rent a truck. Then he said isn't that your car parked there as he pointed to the security screen of the parking lot. Why did you ask if you already knew? Then he told me to move my car before he rang me up. I told him I'd move it after, as I didn't want to walk back and forth, again, for no good reason. He insisted. Why, I asked? Because the last customer didn't move their car and it was in the way. Well f U! You can't trust me for the three seconds it takes because some other idiot didn't do what you said? This u haul worker jerk reminded me so much of a power tripping lunch lady. Just trying to get you to dance with the pathetic amount of leverage they have. I walked out and left when he told me he wouldn't ring me up if I didn't immediately move my car. F him. F u-haul.
