If we could give 0, we would. Originally called and booked a pick up in Kirkland, but once we arrived, we were told the person who took our reservation messed up and we had to go to Kenmore. Alright... Then! We call to confirm drop off location in Juanita at a convenience store. Arrive, and they don't have a jack to lift the trailer off our truck hitch. The store worker had no idea what to do, and neither did the owner of the convenience store. Either uhaul needs to pick another location to allow people to drop off trailers with the correct equipment on hand, or provide better customer service. Insane! I call to have a hitch installed a few weeks ago, make the appointment for the following Friday. I get there as scheduled and the lady behind the counter said "I was about to call you". The installation guy didn't show up for work. So I rescheduled for the following weekend, Sunday, Mother's Day. During the week, the office from Ballard called saying they're taking loads off Kenmore and I should schedule with them, too far for the trouble. So I call the Kenmore store and ask to book at U-Haul of Kirkland, it's scheduled for tomorrow, May 14 at 7am. I call the day before to ask about leaving my car overnight, they said sure. I go there and they had no scheduled appointment for me and my hitch was sent over when they said they would. U-Haul of Kirkland is the place to go, Kenmore group should get it together. If only I could submit a 0 star review. My family and I are moving across the country. We reserved a UHaul 6x12 trailer a few weeks back for our move. We received a call two weeks ago letting us know that they have low availability. We asked to clarify if there was a possibility we wouldn't have a trailer. We were told "no. Worst case scenario we would have you pick it up from another location". Not super convenient, but hey, that makes sense. Lots of people move in the summer. We spent the last few weeks selling furniture and other items to make sure we could make the trailer work. Today we receive a call, less than 24 hours before our reservation, letting us know that there are no 6x12 trailers available. Anywhere. Direct quote "from here to Canada". They offered us a 5x8 at a discount for our troubles. That we could pick up 90 miles away... Needless to say, we were very disappointed that the reservation was basically just words. (Cue the Jerry Seinfeld Rental Car Scene). We luckily found a truck elsewhere, though UHaul essential cost us an extra $2k for our move. Thanks UHaul. read more

Awful customer service. Never greeted, I forgot my mask in the car in a rush to get a few boxes. Rather than asking politely the man working aggressively raised his voice. Upon going back inside after getting my mask he continues to raise his voice to me over how I gathered the boxes I was going to purchase. I am a 20year old girl and could have used guidance with the big boxes. I was done with his disrespect and left empty handed. I went down the street about 5 minutes to the UHAUL in shoreline and it was a wonderful experience, the woman working was so helpful, after arriving from a upsetting experience I tipped her and thanked her for her kind service. Never fails, you reserve a truck and surprise surprise, it's not available at the location you reserved it at, and then they tell you you have to go to another location completely out of the way. Plus, they charge you the mileage on top of what is "allowed", and don't forget about the extra gas money you spend just to drive the truck back to the area that you need it. I went to have a hitch installed. They had to move my appointment from Thursday to Friday. So I show up Friday morning, waited 30 minutes to even get to the counter (super slow, witnessed an argument between an employee and a customer), filled out paper work and left my car. After having my car almost all day, they call to say they "couldn't get to installing the hitch." When we got the keys - no apology or explanation. Complete waste of my day. read more

So, this post has been months in the making. I arrived in Washington from Alaska with a huge Uhaul truck and car trailer in June. We were staying in Duvall with friends after the move. Kenmore Uhaul was cool enough to accept this truck even though we weren't scheduled to drop it there and without an extra fee for the drop off which is way better than most Uhaul places. Fast forward 9 months. I'm looking everywhere for my passport thinking I had filed it away with the rest of our documents. I play back to the last time I had seen it and get this horrible idea I had left it in that Uhaul truck. I tried calling, but no one picked up. I just decided to make the drive from Kent to Kenmore and physically check with them. Sure enough, not only had they found it, but they kept it in lost and found. And for those saying they could have called me, the truck was in my brother in law's name without a clear link to me. Thanks guys! Would 100% recommend this location. read more

They rented my truck to someone else without contacting me when I was a couple of hours late picking it up. I was late because they moved my rental to this location with out contacting me so I went to the location I had reserved it at originally and found out it moved. I wish we had listened to the other reviewers who warned against this place for installing trailer hitches. We have a hybrid and my husband wanted to save money on getting a hitch installed here- they quoted $300 as compared to the dealers' $900. If it sounds too good to be true... Long story short, they screwed up on the installation of a brake controller, and broke our cars electrical braking system, and then lied about causing the damage. And in addition, right after they broke our car, the brake controller we provided to them for installation was "stolen," and we had to buy a new one. We paid $900 to the dealer to get the brake damage fixed, and now the electrical connections to the battery aren't working. We will file a claim against U-haul either with the corporate office or in court to recover our costs, as we have proof that they were responsible for the damage. This place is fraudulent. I was able to pick up the truck quickly and efficiently, though the person working their today was very difficult to understand. Almost everything he said I had to ask him to repeat it, and half of those repeats I still couldn't understand! Prices are reasonable at around $40-60 for a 15' truck rental for 24 hours which includes around 10-20 miles of driving. Now here's hoping I don't dent or scratch or crash it in the next 24 hours otherwise they come after your money big time! read more

DO NOT rent your truck here. This was my first time renting a UHaul from them and I would give this place zero stars if I could. They rip you off by charging you for extra buying gas and charge you a $30 fee for buying it WHEN YOU ALREADY RETURNED THE TRUCK with the SAME AMOUNT of gas as when you left. I drove 45 miles and put 3 gallons of gas in the truck to bring it up to 1/4 tank before returning it. They bought 10 more gallons -- now really --- do you think it driving 45 miles would use up 13 gallons of gas?????? NO WAY! I have been driving UHaul trucks 5-7 times per year for 5-6 years or more to stage people's homes and I have never ever had a truck get 3 miles per gallon! I think they take the air out of the tires that the trucks get terrible gas mileage. read more

NO NO NO - this place is ALL wrong. Go to the U-Haul company in Lynnwood (never had an issue with them). I booked a reservation weeks in advance and picked up my truck yesterday (7/28/18). We were having problems with traffic so I called an hour before the truck was due back to explain the situation and that we need just a little more time to be on the safe side. The woman I spoke with assured me that it was fine and she had made a note in the system. After getting off the phone with her I received a confirmation email of the reservation extension and I thought it was finished. Lol, wrong! 30 minutes AFTER my rental was originally due back we get a phone call from the general manager of the store. YIKES - the voicemail she left us was cringe-worthy, and that's an understatement. She was extremely aggressive and acted as if we were stealing the vehicle. She accused us of not knowing the definition of a contract and ended the voicemail by saying she was going to charge our card an additional $50 for every half hour after the new time she gave us. THEN they call again, this time it's a man. My wife picks up the phone and I can HEAR him raising his voice and I was standing more than halfway across the room. My wife was explaining to him that we called earlier but he continued on his rant. I, then, grabbed the phone myself to explain the situation and to ask if he needed proof of the extension transaction, can you believe he hung up on me?! I rented a cargo Van that did not have an interior door which was noted however the older lady (colored short hair) that checked me back in started accusing me of taking the door and there was going to be a huge problem! Then a fellow worker walked over and said that this Van did not come with an interior door. Instead of apologizing both workers were rude and tried to justify their bigoted attitude's. My experience renting a truck for a local move was easier than I thought and no problem. Their reservations system is easy. I blew my appointment by 3 hours and they cheerfully rescheduled. No charges, etc. Counter help was busy hustling to warm up trucks and process rentals and could not have gone any faster. Drove down and was waiting in line to pick it up when the customer in front me was sent to this U-Haul from another U-Haul, for the same trailer. They then proceeded to cancel my reservation after asking if that was my reservation, and giving it to the other person. BEWARE OF UHAUL To begin, I should state that this is an overall review of U Haul corporate and not the individual store employees. At the beginning of November, I rented a 15-foot box truck to move my belongings from Seattle to a new location out of state and made sure to add on the full coverage insurance that U Haul offers, even though it was nearly $150. I loaded the truck and parked it on the street in front of where I was staying. I secured the back of the truck with a large padlock that I hoped would prevent any theft from the truck. A few hours after loading the truck I went outside to begin my trip and found an empty space where the truck had been. The truck and ALL my belongings had been stolen. The door lock had been drilled and/or punched out and was laying on the ground. Thieves had then hotwired the truck and left the area. I thought to myself, well, luckily, I have full coverage insurance through U Haul and reported the crime to the police. Seattle police informed me that these trucks are extremely easy to steal and that there have been up to FIVE a week stolen in the Seattle area. Why hadn't U Haul informed me of this? Why don't they help to secure these trucks in a way to prevent theft? There was no signage at the U Haul location or warning of any kind. I would have used more precaution if I knew this was such a targeted vehicle. I also found out that U Haul doesn't use any sort of tracking method on their vehicles. The chances of getting my belongings suddenly became minimal. After the initial shock of ALL my belongings being stolen, I spent hours on the phone with U Haul trying to figure out what would be covered. On their contracts there is VERY small print that lists that theft of any items will not be covered by insurance and only items that are destroyed or damaged in an accident are covered. I also spent hours on the phone with customer service trying to get reimbursed for my entire one way out of state trip that was nearly $1000. The truck never left the city and still they were unable to reverse this charge. When the then empty and stolen U Haul was found 18 days later, I was once again charged a new fee for 18 EXTRA days of rental on this stolen U Haul truck. What a scam. I have spent hours on the phone and had very little assistance from anyone at the corporate and regional offices. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use U Haul. Find a better company with better customer service and insurance that will actually cover you and your belongings. read more

This was the second day that I tried to get a uhaul because the one I was supposed to pick up the day before was never returned. They changed my location for 9:30am the next morning. When I arrived 10 minutes early to pick up my truck and spoke with a gentleman behind the counter I was notified that I didn't have a truck at that location. He said I was emailed on a location change and the. When I showed him that my most recent email was the current location I was standing he Clcalled someone at Uhaul. Once he was on the phone uhaul send me my change of location email. I was told I needed to go to the other location. No apologies, no offer for assistance in any manner. I ubered 4 different times before being able to pick up my truck. Will never go to this location again. The amount I spent on Ubers to pick up my truck was about the price of the truck in general. Be careful if you book here. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

Didn't offer any other options or places to go except to buy a new tank and then pay to fill that one. Went in to drop off a uhaul and a car trailer. Open parking lot with plenty of space. Guy in long hair and cap rushed to say "there is no room for you to unload your car here." Said we had to go to another parking lot across the shopping center to offload the car "because if 3 trucks come by here there won't be enough room". There was plenty of room and in the 2 mins we went around to offload the car and came back, no 3 trucks came by. Awful customer service. read more

I checked in online and still had to wait for 35 mins to get the keys. However my time still started from when I checked in, rather than when I got my keys. Luckily, I had a small job so I was done on time regardless. Secondly, the truck was pulled out on the side which is the one way entrance, and I, along with other customers were told to pull out immediately because the truck is not supposed to be kept there. And two cars pulling in from the highway almost hit the customer up front as they were completely surprised. Finally, after I got my receipt in email, I see that I have been charged for equipment and furniture pad rentals, which I didn't ask for not was I told that I'll be charged for it. Let's see how that phone call goes tomorrow. Not only was this a horrible experience with this location but I will not return to U-Haul at all, even if I have to pay more or go further. read more

This was the absolute worst experience(s) we have had with U-Haul in 30+ years. We reserved trucks for two sequential weekends a month ahead of time. The first time we arrived and the reserved truck was not there - so we had to call an Uber to take us to another location 15 miles away. No help whatsoever. In addition, we were charged for the extra mileage, gas, AND weren't able to return it to any other location closer to our destination. Every clerk, manager and customer service agent was not only unwilling to remedy the situation, each was condescending and rude as well. This unwillingness to assist us went all the way up the corporate ladder, it was not just this dealer. There are plenty of other truck rental agencies that are less expensive and considerably more helpful and pleasant. read more

Negative experience relying on U-Haul for the moving truck service! We had a reservation in Kirkland location starting 8am. However, no vehicle was provided upon arrival - instead, it was suggested to wait till 9am. The communicated reason from an in-person representative was that "someone just forgot to leave the car keys yesterday". Tried calling customer support phone line around 8.20am, which got forwarded a robot that suggested to wait for 40 minutes till someone answers the call. If it were only about waiting inconvenience, I wouldn't bother with writing the review, but the impact is much more disturbing: because we had a hard stop at 2pm, we were unable to complete the move over Sunday, leaving about 20-25% items behind. That means an overhead of several extra hours of continued move over the work week: finding people, renting another vehicle, booking loading dock in the building, etc. We understand that hiccups happen, but if the U-Haul team truly cares for the customers, an apology would be good and some form of make-up like refund or discount is expected read more

I rented a uhaul Truck in the downtown Tacoma dome bus station area. And I had it for 24hrs and returned it full. Same day I reserved the same truck for the next day. I came the next to pick it up and they tried to give me a different truck with no gas almost on E. And gas prices are high in this recession and covid as we know it. So I asked for my same truck that I filled up was there and available. So we just left and went to a different location after they already charged me $70. Then we find out at the other location we were blocked from renting any uhaul trucks just nasty people no customer service at all. I guess my experience was better than many others. I rented a van to transport some household items from my home to a storage facility a mile away. Used online form to reserve, walked in and was promptly given the van. Made my move and returned the van less than 2 hours later. Didn't even put any gas in it because 2 miles shouldn't suck that much gas, and the employee agreed it was fine. They charged me what they should have and I was on my way. Easy peasy. The one star I'm giving is for the guy who worked there who was nice, and was trying to be helpful. If I could give the guy who was wearing the "manager" shirt negative one hundred stars, I would. He had an awful attitude from the get-go, was rude, seemed annoyed that we were showing up expecting him to help us, was very hard to understand (not an accent, just really poor pronunciation/ diction), and in the end refused to help us with fulfilling our trailer rental. He said it was because the tow hitch was loose, and he cited a "policy" that said he could not tighten it for us, nor could he lend us his wrench to do so. Guess what? When I called U-Haul customer service, they said there is NO such policy. He flat out lied. They sent us to the Shoreline location, where the guys were friendly and helpful, and YES, they tightened the hitch. In short, this guy wants to sit around all day and collect a paycheck; he isn't interested in anyone's business, and he's dishonest to boot. I had a very well organized and efficient experience at this U-Haul location. I have used U-Haul in two other locations and this one was the best one yet! Very friendly and efficient and fast service. Yes I had to wait a bit because it does take "time" to get customers set up for their rental. It super made it faster because I filed on line check in and it was all just a snap when I went in to pick it up. In reading the reviews I was hesitant but I live right down the street and decided to use them anyway. I am so glad I did. In reading the reviews, I just wanted to say.... they have signs all over their location telling you there is no "on site" parking for your car. They are very helpful in telling you where you can park without any worries. I will definitely use this location again. read more
