Do not expect to get your trailer within an hour of arriving. They are "understaffed" even with all three booths open inside. After 30-45 minutes stuck inside waiting you'll be stuck another 30-45 outside waiting for somebody to take the lock off your trailer. If you need to move in one day find somewhere else to rent a trailer so you don't spend half the day waiting here. read more

I had a pretty solid and smooth experience with our 15' rental truck. We did it for a full day but only really needed it for about a half day. Getting the truck was simple and explained well. I've rented with uhaul before so this is generally pretty straight forward. The drop off process was also very quick and to the point as well. I didn't experience any waits as well. I think the cost was pretty much worth it too for us. All in all we would do it again, we are always satisfied with uhaul. read more

Went to get propane refill! Rang bell and nobody ever came so I walked to the front to get help! (95 degrees outside) The lady tells be they are out of propane! I said can't you put a sign up to inform people it's hot outside. She says they can't because they won't let her. Crappy policy for a business to not be able to inform people! I've been at this U-Haul for over 5yrs. I have never in my life felt so belittle by this staff. The older lady in the front office talks down to and at that does it yelling. If you are at your unit for too long they purposely start sounding the alarm. I was cleaning my storage out and this same lady came stood right in front of my unit and at first I thought she couldn't go thru so i said did u need to go through, she replies " oh I'm going thru but I don't think my boss is going to like this". Now I did not know what she was referring too because all this was doing was reboxing my stuff. After that they were purposely sounding of the alarm. This people are so disrespectful. As of right now they have locked me out of my unit, to were I have limited access only. They have complete access to my unit. Now when I seen the paper on my unit I went to the front office and this same lady starts yelling getting all bad out of shape. All I could do was cry because I had just came back from the doctor's with my daughter whom has just been diagnosed with stage 3cancer ñ i tried to explain this to her but she would not let me get a word in hardly. I left there just crying because what else can go wrong in my life. This people are so rude. But when I first rented a unit at this facility I was forced to tolerate a tenant they had been living there. Who would smoke marijuana there and had the front smelling like urine. Now come to find out they have another tenant there that has been there longer than the first one and he gets to sleep in one of their trailers so what punishment do the employees here get for barking the rules. I'm so upset and disappointed in this facility. If I had the money to love my stuff some place else I would. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! read more

I reserved a 9' van for the time period of 9 AM - 3 PM on a Sunday. Of note, the store opens at 9 AM on Sundays. When I arrived at 9 AM, there were only 3 staff counters to assist approximately 20+ customers. In anticipation of this, I had created an online account and completed the online check-in, as recommended by U-Haul, to expedite this process. However, I did not receive the keys to the van until 10 AM, and thus did not have the first hour of the rental. In addition to this, the inside of the building was extremely hot. There are only a few parking spots allotted for customer vehicles (you can't park in certain spaces because they're for the rental vehicles). Because of this, there were multiple customer vehicles parked in the middle of the parking lot, making it difficult to maneuver through. The only redeeming aspects of my experience were that the van was moderately clean and the return process was quick. I would not return to this particular location, nor recommend this location to anyone else. TL;DR Check-in process was poor, but vehicles, equipment, and return process are decent. read more

I went here to rent a 10 footer for 3 hours and this is the most ratchet place ever. The line was super long, they ran out of trucks and they tried to charge me a fee and had to take it off. I literally only needed a truck for 2-3 hours and my total was $144. The prices of things are super crazy now. This place needs a complete rebuild on their staff. Most are rude and unprofessional and that's putting it lightly. They're are quick to blow up your email and phone once you're a couple days late on your storage locker but take their sweet time if they have to remove their lock on once it's on to reduce days you have access to it. It total I usually have 28 days when I pay to have access to 30 days. When you bring this up to anybody they brush it off. I came to this particular U Haul to get a hitch installed on my truck. My appointment was scheduled at 8am and was greeted by JD the store manager, he was professional and polite. A couple of minutes later Justin the Hitch Pro came and took my truck to the hitch install area. JD and Justin went above and beyond to make sure my install went smooth. I read the reviews on this U-Haul dealer and noticed most of the negative reviews are based on people not paying their storage fees or not being responsible for returning equipment on time. I sat at this place for two hours and witnessed JD providing excellent customer service, being patient, listening and being respectful towards alot of rude people. Quickest transaction ever! Before I arrived, I did my research online thru the company website and decided I needed 10 of the Medium Boxes (18 1/8" x 18" x 16"). Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by Dee Dee and she asked me what I wanted. I told her what I needed and then she asked me if I needed anything else. Since I didn't need anything else, she told me my total, I paid, and then she carried the boxes out to my vehicle! Boom! Easy peasy! I was in and out of there within 3 minutes, max!! "Customer service" at its worst. I made an online reservation for a moving truck to move my father-in-law to his new apartment. We made arrangements to have him out that day and meet the landlord of the old place to return the keys the following morning. Made the reservation and PRE-PAID online for the entire amount. Received a call from U-Haul at around 330pm on Friday, but I was at work and couldn't answer. The message I received said they wanted to "confirm the details" of my reservation. I tried to call back three different times and was left on hold for over 40 minutes each time, and had to hang up. But I made a reservation (had a reservation number and everything) and pre-paid online. So, there shouldn't be a problem, right? We showed up at 8 AM on Saturday morning to pick up the truck. The girl who helped us said that unfortunately there was no truck for us to pick up. Experience went something like this: I told her, I have a reservation and I already paid. She said, yes I see your reservation and I see that you have paid. But, unfortunately we do not have a truck for you. You will receive a full refund. At this point I looked outside into the parking lot and saw a bunch of trucks outside. What about those trucks? Oh, those are reserved. Right. I reserved one of them. No, those are reserved for other people. How does that work? Did those people pre-pay? Are those people here? Because I also have a reservation, I pre-paid, and I'm here. Why would those people get their truck and not me? Well, sometimes the trucks have 2 or 3 reservations for the same day. First, that's a terrible practice. Second, who decides who gets it? Again, I'm here. I already paid. There are trucks here. Why don't you tell the last person who comes in, who hasn't already paid that they don't get one? Again, she said she's sorry. But, your sorry doesn't fix the fact that my dad has to move out today. We hired people to help us today. Our landlord wants the keys tomorrow morning. We planned ahead. We rented a uhaul truck. My husband asked her, what did we do wrong that caused this to happen. She said nothing, it's nothing you did wrong. He said, then it's your fault. How are you going to fix it? She actually said- Sir, it's no ones fault. No one did anything wrong. He said, if no one did anything wrong, when we made and paid for a reservation of a truck we would come to pick it up and it would be here. She just kept telling us we would get a refund. Which, obviously, was not the issue. I know I've rambled on, but to end it simple, this place is the worst. read more

Only part of my trip that I can say was enjoyable, the representative that assisted me. She was very nice and helpful. Deyanira had a professional and helpful demeanor. The truck itself- Apparently the photos they use to verify any damage to the truck are taken like 10+ feet away. There are some stickers on some of the damages to verify they've been logged already. But still plenty that are unaccounted for. We ended up purchasing the extra insurance because taking numerous photos then having to get them verified would take too long. It was more peace of mind but an added fee we didn't want to pay. Drop off. Please please please download the U-Haul app on your phone. We didn't make it back in time since we went the Sunday that we changed the time forward. We made the mistake of looking at the clock in the truck and thought we had enough time to drop off before they closed. We were wrong. But thankfully they have an app that verifies drop off and you take a million photos on it then drop the keys off in the labeled slot. All in all it wasn't too terrible. I was just feeling overwhelmed and rushed so I felt like it was worse than what it was. Cost was around $110 to move stuff from Moreno Valley to Riverside near RCC. Includes the rental itself, added insurance, and the gas to refill before dropping off. read more

Judy the general manager is completely unprofessional. I rented a 15" rental truck on Friday 8/30. We returned the truck Friday 8/30 at 7:50pm. The representative met us outside, checked the truck, took the key and provided us with our total. Judy on 8/31 called at 6:30AM asking where her truck was, she has a reservation at 7am and needs her truck. After explaining that the truck was turned in on time to a representative she began to ask for her truck keys. Remember we handed the keys over when we turned the truck in to the representative. Question, why wouldn't she speak to her employees first before calling at 6:30am! To make matters worse JUDY proceeded to charge the card on file AFTER HOURS fees even after she knew the truck was there. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. JUDY IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND SHADY. read more

I picked up my U-Haul trailer at this location on a pouring Monday. I originally wanted to pick up in Riverside but they didn't have the trailer size I booked so my pickup location was changed to Moreno Valley. Two ladies at the store handled the pickup process. They gave me tips and encouraging words when they heard I had never towed a trailer in my life. "Don't worry. You will be OK." They said. Worries must have written all over my face. I admit I was quite terrified and started questioning my sanity and decision to tow a trailer from SoCal to East Bay all by myself. After getting the paperwork done, I went to meet with a U-Haul guy to hook the trailer to my SUV. He did everything quickly and efficiently in the pouring rain. When he heard I had never towed before, he tried to show me how to drive with a trailer. "If you don't know how to back up, just keep going forward!" He said. I left feeling much better. The following day, I was on the road for 8 hours and towed the trailer safely to my destination. Thank you, Moreno Valley U-Haul! Kindness goes a long way. read more

I give them 2 stars because the truck functioned as I expected. The removal of other stars is a result of their abysmal customer service. I've never seen anything like it. Rude. Disconnected. One of them even decided to get into an argument with me. And I'm a pretty cool guy. If I was the manager of these two lady "service" people I met this morning, I'd remind them that they are replaceable and then I'd replace them with people who appreciate the jobs and the paychecks. Ive been renting uhaul trucks. 3/15/19 i rented a pick up truck for first time. I used it for for less than 47 miles. Before returning the truck of course you need to refill fuel to marked. The truck i used only has less than 9k miles. The GAS gauge is a CHEAT. I wqs filling and turning of gas to make sure i dont over fill to mark but the gauge does not indicate how much you out in. So kept refilling i put $20 still doesnt go up. I drove the car 5 miles then the gauzes slowly increased or delayed. Bottom line is maybe this is how they make money but damn...so dont fill up next to uhaul. Fill little bit then drive few miles so youll have accurate reading. Just letting others know. Of course they will not refund the excess gas. read more

I was trying to reserve 2 storage units online but I kept getting an error message so I called the office @ ((951)247-0857; I spoke with Alex & I explained my situation. Alex tried to reserve the units for me but had issues with the system. He said he would have someone (?) hold the units for me so that no one else would take them. He assured me everything would be taken care of. He gave me no confirmation number or something to back up his promise. I went the next day to make sure all was good. I spoke with a young lady at the front office, I gave her my name, she checked my reservation status and told me that there were no units available and nothing was reserved for me. She said that Alex gave me a quote, which is a lie, and I walked out disappointed. Btw, the manager was also in the front desk helping others and she was rude & yelling at everyone. The truck had no brakes. Let that sink in for a minute. The pedal easily went all the way to the floor and then the brakes locked. My guess is air in the brake line or no brake fluid. Fortunately, I was in the process of pulling out of the parking slot, so I went 5 feet rather than experiencing this kind of catastrophic brake failure on the road. We had an emergency with our cable hitch plug connector (it kept blinking green/off/green/off meaning the headlights/breaklights would blink) and we were soooo tight on time enroute to Palm Springs. Horrible place. They don't give you your rental on time, so you're basically paying for a service you are NOT getting. The heavy set girl in the office is extremely lazy; she doesn't bother to fully answer any questions you might have, so the whole process of renting here just feels shady. We also asked her where the key drop off box was, and she says "outside by the truck," ... in a parking lot full of trucks... That was pretty annoying, but I'm most upset about losing out on limited time that I'VE paid for, because the workers here just want to take their sweet time to bring you your truck. It's a really shady way of making you keep the truck longer than you planned, and paying more than what you were supposed to. read more

On Saturday,26-foot June 4, 2022, I went online, I reserved a 26-foot moving truck for Wednesday, June 8, 2022, to be picked up at 8:00 am. When I arrived at 8:00 am at the U-Haul on 23730 Sunnymead Blvd. Moreno Valley on June 8, 2022, I went into the building to see the person at the desk to get the truck I reserved. She checked my reservation and gave me my paperwork, and said to give the keys to the guy in the back and he would bring the truck up. Well, this guy finally came to get the keys from me to go get the truck. So now I am waiting here for him to bring the truck up, and I've been waiting for half an hour, waiting for this guy to bring the truck up so I can go. I finally got into my car and drove to the back and he was standing there laughing and chit-chatting with some people. I asked what was the hold-up? I was about 25 feet away from him so I had to raise my voice because of the cars and noise. He told me to shut the F*^k up and flipped me off. Now anyone who knows me, knows I don't put up with crap like that, and especially a CUSTOMER, shouldn't have to put up with things like that. I drove to the front and proceeded into the office again. I spoke to the girl at the counter and she said he has to put gas in the truck, I said okay fine, but that doesn't take half an hour to do. I went back outside and waited again, but still no truck, I again yelled to this guy how much longer? He replied again to shut the F*^k up again and flipped me off again. So I went back inside and told the girl that I wanted to speak to the manager, she said he was outside checking in the returned trucks, so I went outside again, and as he stops to towel off his hands and finally walks up and said he was the manager, and what did I need? I asked his name and he said J.D. I told him that guy who took the keys for the truck I was renting, still has not brought the truck up yet, he said that he has to put gas in the truck because all the gas in the trucks gets siphoned out daily. I said that is ridiculous, why would you allow something like that to happen daily??? His response was, that he doesn't get any help from corporate. So I asked what that guy's name was, and he said it was Angel. So I asked how much longer do I have to wait?, he said he was putting gas in the truck, and again I asked, why is it taking so long??? He said he should be right up with the truck, which by now it's 8:50 am and I'm still waiting. Finally, the truck is brought up, he said that Angel put gas in it (only 6 gallons) and that he saw Angel put the gas in, I said fine and left with the truck. I didn't even get past the first light when the truck sputtered and the gauge showed "EMPTY"! Six gallons, I thought, what a crock of crap. so I pulled the truck over to the side of the road and got back in "My" car and drove back again to the U-Haul office. I went into the office and told the manager that the truck was down the street with NO GAS! (most likely Angel didn't put gas in the truck because he was mad at me. So now I'm an hour late getting to my destination, and I told the manager that if he had a 20-foot truck available and it had gas in it I would take that. So by the time I finally got on my way with the truck, it was way after 9:00 am. This U-Haul is the worst place to come to rent a truck! The service is horrible and the employees don't give a damn, and they cop their little attitudes and especially that guy ANGEL, He is the worst of them all and should be FIRED for telling the "customer(s)" to shut the F*^k up and flip people off! THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS, AND EMPLOYEES DON'T EVEN CARE, THIS U-HAUL IS THE WORST I'VE EVER BEEN TO! The manager J.D. said he would talk to Angel, but I know that he won't because he really could care less, and it showed. I said that I will take this to corporate, and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "so-what", they won't do anything. Then after all this, I finally got to where I needed to go and started to load up the truck, I opened the back door and there was a STENCH in there that it made me gag, my brother told me it was this 'GIANT LONG TURD" (someone crapped in the back of this truck. See images and video attached)! I said what the heck...it took me a few minutes before I could look, at it since it smelled so bad. I held my breath and took a picture of it. My God...don't these people at U-Haul even open the backs of their trucks to see if there is anything in the back or if the truck is ACTUALLY CLEAN!!!! I've used U-Haul for many, many years, and this incident really has me thinking about who I should use the next time, I need to move or haul something. After being treated like that, this tells me that this particular U-Haul doesn't care what the customer needs or wants. I guess I'll have to go to Budget, Penske, Enterprise, or Home Depot, because of the service I received from J.D. and Angel at the U-Haul on 23730 Sunnymead Blvd. Moreno Valley, CA. 92553 (951) 247-0847. Judy from the front desk was upset that U-Haul (who we had booked the reservation with) allowed us to return to a different location. It's U-Haul - a huge company & this lady proceeded to leave a super disrespectful and rude voicemail for us even though we did exactly what we can scheduled with the main U-Haul company. We won't be doing business with this location ever again! So completely unprofessional - I don't know how they're in business! read more

I cannot say enough great things about the crew that works at this location. I needed to buy a ton of boxes and other moving supplies and they were so helpful in helping me gather everything I needed for my order. I had actually placed the same order online before I realized there was a local store so I thought I cancelled my online order but I ended up getting the boxes the next day so now I had more than DOUBLE the boxes I actually needed. The staff at this location not only honored the company policy to return any unused boxes without hassling me about it they were actually even polite! I have worked in customer service in the past for many years and I cannot say I would have been that nice and accommodating if someone had brought that many boxes pack to me. I will absolutely be using this location for all of my packing, moving and storage needs from now on. read more

Watch out! U-haul will tell you when you can move! 2 weeks ago I reserved a 6'x12' trailer to move on 11/13/2020. Reservation# 82141959 and paperwork says pickup date 11/13/2020. Last week I went in to make sure it was all smooth and on track. I was told by the same lady both visits that I was good to go and that I would get a call on 11/12 to tell me which U-haul location I can pick up the trailer at. Well, 11/12 is here and now worrying at 3:30pm, I better start making calls because i am moving my family in less than 24 hours. I call the office, they tell me to call (Traffic) 951-485-2005. 12 minute hold to now be explained that they do no have a 6x12 available for 11/13. BUT I can pick up a 5x8 on 11/13 but is in Inyo (61 miles away). They did not apologize, compensate, explain, nothing, not even a free upgrade like a rental car when the make and model is not available. So, Here I sit in a home of 3 with no utilities that was suppose to be moved out of a home (now squatting and homeless) and U-Haul has done nothing. Now I find out I can get a 6x12 but it will be on Saturday but I can't pick it up until 2:30pm, Which means by the time I am done packing/loading the trailer, I will not be driving at night so now I can't leave until Sunday. I was suppose to move out Friday but U-haul is holding me hostage util Sunday with no apology or compensation for there mistake. Now I have a reservation for Sunday and the E-mail says "We have a 6' x 12' Van Trailer reserved for you and guaranteed Saturday, 11/14/2020 at 2:30 PM." I have to cuss and laugh because I was "Guaranteed" the same trailer on 11/13. But now only this time I get to drive 25 miles one way to go fetch it. I would think after all this lack of customer service they could at least bring it to the Moreno Valley area for some damage control and a way of apologizing But they people at (Traffic) were so blunt and rude that they have no clue what customer service is, so I doubt they will be bringing it any closer to this customer and will make me fetch it instead. Never again will I ever deal with "U-Move when we tell you to move" AKA- U-Lie, AKA- U-Scam" ever again.
