Where to start! First off.. I can't stand when a business quotes an SOP or policy but cannot…read moreprovide it in writing. I do not currently hold an account with schools first, but was given a check by someone. Instead of dealing with the check being put on hold, etc, I decided to go into the bank and cash it. They had to verify and take my finger print, etc. completely acceptable. The check amount was for $4k. I was told I would be charged a $5 fee for cashing, and I would only be able to cash $3k and would be given a check for the remaining amount ($995 with the fee.) I asked if I could get a cashiers check in the full amount of $4k to avoid the fee, and was told no. I go in the next day to cash the cashiers check.. from schools first, and am being told I need to pay another fee. I asked for written disclosure of such fee, as I feel it's not fair I had to pay twice. Additionally, if I could have a copy of the written policy indicating the "max" amount I could cash. I was initially told I could not receive this in writing. I was in a bit of a time crunch so I simply asked if they could finish the transaction and I would look into this later. The manager came over and approved the cashiers check, and then provided me a pamphlet with a small note saying there is a $5 fee.. extremely vague. I then asked for more information on the policy and was told that was internal information. I then asked for the policy which stated I could not cash more then $3k or receive a full cashiers check for $4k and was told She does not have this in writing... so I repeated back to both the manager (Sandy) and the teller, you are quoting a policy that you are unable to provide in writing? Both said yes. There is a required consumer compliance polices and procedures in place for a reason, and this bank and management team is not following them. I do not feel it's fair that I had to pay this fee twice with no written justification or clarification from staff when asked.

There is a verification of identity form I asked him to sign which just states my name, address and which ID, like my driver's license they verified and then the notary signs that. I buy about a house a month and have wells Fargo do the majority of my signings without any notary yet refusing to sign that, which he refused... Really annoying. He also didn't know you are able to sign the document beforehand for an "acknowledgment" form (can't for a jurat). He seems to not know what's hes doing and needs some basic training still. And I actually was planning on opening up a business line of credit with Wells Fargo. Hopefully within the next week or two. I was going to chat with him about it, And apply. Definitely not now, Wells Fargo still has a long way to go to get comparable to chase with their business acumen.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with American first credit Union La Habra, California…read more I deposited over $1,000 in cash using one of their ATMs, assuming it would be a straightforward process. Instead, I got an error message saying there was a technical issue with ATM machine-- no receipt, no confirmation, nothing to show that the money was accepted or even received. When I went inside the branch for help, I was told there was nothing they could do because the ATM is serviced by a third party. Their only suggestion? File a complaint and wait. It's now three business days and I haven't received any updates. Every time I call, I get the runaround -- no answers, no timeline, no ownership of the issue. This situation has caused a serious financial hardship, and American First has shown zero urgency or accountability. If you value your money and your peace of mind, I strongly suggest banking elsewhere.

I tried giving this place a try over schools first or orange county credit union and it's been a long 4years of constant disappointments.
