Everything about this bank has been a nightmare, and just horrible at the way they handled things or get things done . If u deposit a check in the atm you'll have to wait a week before u can touch it , doesn't matter the amount. Online it will tell u something different. They are not for the people that bank with them , they just want your money . Can't get any answers or get to someone that can help you with your need , or care about what you have going on. It's just a bad system at hand, they are the worst , with handling your money . Save you sometime and a headache by not dealing with them . Last weekend, U.S. Bank made changes which affect me personally. For checks I've written to another person: I can no longer download single PDF file showing the front and back of the cashed check. I need these PDF files as documentation for my federal and state taxes. Deposits: I can no longer download an image of a check that I've deposited. Again, I need these PDF files as documentation for my federal and state taxes. Both of these issues impact my ability to provide needed proof and documentation to the IRS and State Franchise Tax Board. This is a matter of critical importance to me. This branch provided a terrible experience. I visited because I was dealing with fraud on my account, and they assured me the issue was resolved and that everything should be fine. Trusting their word, I continued having my direct deposit go into the account, which held all the money I needed to pay bills and take care of my two children. The very next day, I tried to access my account only to find it had been closed due to "security reasons." Not only was my account inaccessible, but they also refused to release my money immediately, telling me I had to wait for a check to be issued. Meanwhile, I have kids to feed, a water bill to pay, and other responsibilities, but they showed no concern for my situation. This whole ordeal has left my children and me without essential utilities, all because I trusted the word of this bank and its employees. read more

Finally found a ATM that is not my bank, but will allow me to withdraw cash without fees! $1000 is the maximum. Plenty of street parking. Just watch out for the soccer mommies driving full sized SUVs with Keep Tahoe Blue bumper stickers! read more

I would normally never write a review about banks because I'm not at that level of nerd, but I had the absolute friendliest interaction here while getting a cashier's check. I've never been disappointed with their customer service, and I always come in to do transactions in person instead of the ATM because of the personal touch. read more

Some ATM machines need only a quick dunk to start a transaction. Others, like the one here, swallow your card until well after your transaction is finished. It took me a day to realize I had left without retrieving my ATM card. When I called the bank, the person told me, almost cheerfully, "Yes, I remember that card! We destroyed it." "You what?!" I said incredulously. The bank official explained that it was their policy to destroy cards left in their ATM "because we cannot verify their identity if they are not US Bank cards". Well, my name is on the card, I am listed in every public directory, I have tons of ID, and my business has been located around the corner from this branch for 20 years. If they looked out the window, they could see me walking by every day. So, yes, I think they could have verified my identity... had they bothered to try. Any other business would have held on to the card until claimed, perhaps even giving me a call to let me know they had it. This was one of those defining moments when you learn what a bank is made of. They could have won me over as a loyal customer, instead of leaving me to share my frustrating story with the world. If you are going to pretend to be a trusted member of the community, then you need to act like it, treat people like human beings and neighbors, and not hide behind some senseless and stupid policy. I look forward to the day when a US Bank manager leaves their coat at my business. When they come back to retrieve it, I will explain how I had to destroy it and all its contents because I couldn't verify who it belonged to. read more

It is no California Savings from the 1960's. No lifesavers candy handed out. Strange twist, the manager now is the son of the manager in the 1960's. Also the bank does not give out calendars with pockets like in the sixties. Yes, fifty years later, I am still a customer. read more

I was extremely impressed with this branch of US Bank. I've been in the process of purchasing a home, which has required a couple wire transfers into an escrow account. The first branch I went to, only one person could help, the branch manager, and she was on lunch break. I had to wait 10 minutes, and then the service was slow and impersonal. That was a complete 180 at this branch. I walked into the US Bank in Montclair and was immediately warmly greeted. All the associates were friendly and personable. I was assisted immediately at a comfortable desk, and the associate working with me was professional while still being friendly. She congratulated me on my home purchase, and when she found I was moving from Boston commented that the bank manager was a huge Red Sox fan. On top of my wire going through promptly, this bank made me feel like I was more than just money in an account, but was a real person, and I appreciate that! read more

Horrible experience at this location. These guys attempted to do a HELOC for us but it was all around a big failure. Their communication is extremely poor, you have to email or call several times before you get a response. I did business with their commercial division in Walnut Creek and they were great. Growing up my parents used to take me to the bank where the tellers and bankers had personal relationships with their customers. I haven't known a bank to provide that style of service in a long time. Since I have started using US bank in Montclair, I have that same style of customer care. I know my bankers and they know me. This is the best US Bank branch I've been to in the East Bay area. They actually know what they are doing in here! This was my first time in here because I out and asked the GPS to take me to the nearest US Bank office. I actually came in to close my account because the other branches kept messing up my accounts... Karen helped me, she was very friendly and knowledgable. This branch is horrible - customer service is not a priority. I just got off the phone with their branch manager - who told me he was the manager but then informed me he was not the manager on the operations side so couldn't help me. When I went into more detail he informed me that I was giving him incorrect information - I was explaining to him that the bank had made an error - not me because I had the correct information! If you have to use this location, avoid Jessica Willingham, the Assistant Manager, at all costs. She lacks professionalism, customer service, ethics and/or follow up. I had a very serious situation and she let the matter linger for days causing additional problems. Of course, she took the credit for solving the problem when asked by her manager, Josh Foster. I find her to be a liar and self serving. She does NOT represent the ethics that the company claims that they stand for. Brian and Jose at the Foothill location are the only reason, I gave two stars instead of one. Foothill branch is great. read more

I had an ready to go auto loan from another branch. My branch sent my documents to this branch so that I can get my check to get my new car last week. There was only two person working there! I had to wait half an hour just so that I could talk to them! They refused to do my loan and I had to contact my bank and go to another branch! read more

Avoid US Bank at all costs!!! The more reviews I read the more I wish I had read them years ago. Wow. I'm horrified at this bank. They do not care about anything besides taking your money. Literally taking it with ridiculous fees and infinite phone tree run arounds. They can apply a late fee to my account just for fun following their own mistake but they cannot reverse it or provide written documentation of their reversal? Yup. Literally. What a mess. Avoid their home equity products. After many weeks of delays and unresponsiveness, the bank tried to up-sell me into a more expensive debt consolidation plan. All I wanted was a loan for home improvements. At least the staff was polite. read more
