Dr Pena takes her time, explains things fully, always asks if you have any concerns or questions and prescribes only what is absolutely necessary for the issues I deal with. Most important to me, she is the only dermatologist I've ever been to that managed to get my rosacea under control! I have been here numerous times and have always had a most positive experience. Usually getting these procedures done freak me out but I didn't even have the time to freak out bc of how fast and efficiently it was done, lol. I also even briefly inquired about filler injection estimates and he was able to give me an estimate window right on the spot. Amanda was super helpful! Really good because scheduling or rescheduling an appointment with my then provider, a large hospital clinic network, was a months long wait. My check-in at the North Austin location off of Mo-Pac near Parmer was effortless and very pleasant and my clinical visit with Lorin the Medical Assistant and Stephanie PA-C for the skin check was through and very informative. I was beyond pleased that PA Stephanie was able to examine and treat a spot on my ear that she had concerns with and also perform a procedure on a couple more that required them to be excised off. The visit was really positive and I accomplished so much in 90 minutes from the time I walked in along with directions on using appropriate sunscreen! Sanova Dermatology offers lots of services , so I expect that I'll be back more often than annually for routine maintenance and care at a really reasonable and fair cost.

I told them I don't have any deductible to pay. I had a stroke, and it ate up all of my deductible. I was told it didn't matter. BEWARE - this is wrong. They are in my network, meaning they have to abide by the prices my insurance set. Giving them financial information, under that pretence, would allow them to take money from your bank account or charge to your credit card without your knowing. This has happened before with a dentist I used. They charged me for what my insurance wouldn't pay. Tried to tell me they called to let me know, yeah right. In other words, it's like signing blank checks and handing them over to a business (person) you don't know.

Then they want you to get the proper codes from Your insurance company in order to come to your appointment even though your insurance no longer requires a referral. I told them to just cancel my appointment and then they miraculously had the code needed from my insurance for me to come. Now going through the same exact scenario for my husband whom is on my insurance . It's wild how unorganized and unprofessional the billing and prep is prior to an appointment. Still holding my breath we won't receive a bill for services rendered and insurance wasn't billed correctly.
