The Uber app indicated a driver was "6 minutes" away from the airport. So I choose this driver as an "Uber X." Then it took 5 minutes for the app to confirm the ride with this driver. Then it showed the driver was 22 miles away and that he would be there in 24 minutes!! WTF? While waiting this long is clearly a first world problem, we've been traveling for 12 hours to get back home and this was the capper to a really long day. There were regular taxi's available but I chose Uber based on bad information provided by Uber. If you cancel, you will incur a fee..so we just dealt with it. I've used Uber a lot since they came into existence...but I think I'm done with them. I tried to use their website to discuss this problem with them but they have very cleverly made it impossible (or I couldn't find the secret door) to let them know about this situation. I had to catch a flight out in the storm, he was 10 minutes away and continued to string me along for over an hour insisting he was still coming and when he got 2 mins away he dropped off my screen & disappeared. Uber - Taxis Near Me

I am so tired of booking rides way ahead of time and either no one shows up or they're late. I am late for work today by 35mins!!! Not acceptable! I am requesting a refund but most likely won't happen. I depend on ride sharing. But I can depend 100% on an off duty ride sharing driver which I van pay half the price and in cash. Many of there drivers are doing this! And I don't blame them! I was discussed last week when I went to book a ride and for a 6 mile drive, Uber wanted $46.00!? Are who can afford that? Meanwhile I work 2 jobs while Uber drivers sit on their bums collecting unemployment in Michigan! Uber seriously needs to restructure their company and stop robbing us riders and make them come off unemployment as there is no shutdown in Michigan. read more

I used Uber for the first time recently and had a great experience with its services. I live on the outskirts of Grand Rapids and even requesting an Uber ride from there only took 12 minutes or so. The app allows you to see an image of your driver, tells you what car they will be picking you up in and also lets you know their license plate number to ensure you are getting in the right vehicle. The app also gives you real time updates as to where the vehicle is while in transit, then notifies you via text message when your ride is there to pick you up. The transaction is all done right through the app and there is never any cash exchanged. The drivers don't accept tips either. It was all very fast and easy to use. If it is your first time using the service, there are many promotional codes available that will make your first few rides free of charge. read more

Today I took my very first Uber ride ever. I downloaded the app on my phone and it took all of my info. I ordered my Uber ride and within just seconds a driver picked up my ride. She was only 6 minutes away. Her name was Deborah and the app showed me a picture of who to expect, as well as what vehicle she was driving. It also had her license plate on it. I could see her car arriving on the app so I knew exactly where She was. She was very friendly, and took me to my destination which was only a few miles away. I arrived quickly, safely and it only cost me $6. I will surely use Uber again when I need to. It set me at ease and I felt very safe. read more

I was pleased with my driver and I was please with the timeliness. What I was very displeased with is all the hidden charges that don't make much sense and were coming over my phone long after the service had ended. I am also very displeased with customer service trying to double talk me as if I was ignorant of what the laws are concerning these types of issues. I finally got it all resolved but not without multiple calls and finally having to resort to having one of my attorneys call. Not at all making me want to call Uber again in Grand Rapids. read more

Great service, cashless, no tip expected. What's not to love?

2nd x using Uber. Worked great. 8AM airport trip. Needed xl sz'd ride. Just RT for 2ppl & 4big bags. If it shows "no XL available", just wait- as you look at the app it changes for availability. Also if the price spikes, just wait - it shows the lower price in just a few minutes when that changes. It's a live feed on the app If you read the review where the person complained about the spiked rates - all they had to do was wait about seven minutes or even three and it would've changed because there would've been more available. I think it just means that for the 1, 2 or three drivers that are out there if they're busy then they spike the price. So that's their choice and we may not like that but all you have to do is wait a couple minutes. read more

Book a Uber to take me to the airport the day before so I wouldn't have to worry about transportation, I am about 5 minutes from the airport but didn't want to deal with driving or parking, so I wanted to leave @ 1130. When I booked it they tell me someone will pick me up between 1130-1145, at 1146 no sign of driver or notification that anyone is even coming. It's now 15 minutes later than I would have left if driving. Now no time to play around so I drove to the airport. Didn't have all day to wait. Also the cost of uber was 1.70 more than a taxi would charge. So I learned two things 1 can't count on Uber. 2 Uber can cost more than a taxi. read more

Not very pleased with their customer service. On several occasions I noticed multiples charges for one ride and have had to deal with customer service. Contacting Uber is not easy. They only communicate through email which is frustrating when you're communicating incorrect billing. I would recommend offering more methods to communicate with customer service. read more

Uber is the best!! How else can you get around without paying for parking or worry about having A DD if you are drinking. Taxis are a thing of the past! Uber pairs you with the closet driver and gets you to where you need to go. If you are going downtown GR u we is a must!! Haven't meet a bad driver in GR. read more
