It was a mess I had $29.00 on my uber credit already from a giftcard so I had another $50.00 one so I put it on and I had 79.00 and some change on the giftcard so I go and reserve a ride for 43.23 and when I do it said error and it wouldn't go through so I figured it didn't I check my email and it said I had a reservation even though it rejected me so I look on the app and supposively some how it said I had a reservation the one that had gotten rejected so I didn't trust it so I canceled it cause I wasn't sure if it went through actually so i didn't get my credit back off that so I'm trying again to reserve a ride and where it shows what payment method ur using it only kept showing the debit card info and no giftcard info so I had waited about 20 minutes then i looked back and they had put back only 43.23 not all my credit they took from me cause I had 79.00 on there to start with but only got 43.23 back and on top of that they charged my card 9.40 when I actually had enough giftcard credit to cover my ride...So in all they took 36.00 from me and an unauthorized charge for 9.40 when it wasn't necessary big mess sorry as hell read more

I would rate 0 if I could. On several occasions, I have ordered from the grocery stores and convenience stores in the Uber Eats App and the items ordered are not available. I have spoken to Uber about this. Today it culminated. They did not have my vanilla ice cream and sent me notice of the substitution of strawberry to approve. I said, "no, just cancel the order and refund". After all, why do I need chocolate chip cookies, that are sky-high anyway, without my vanilla ice cream. Uber had the nerve to say the only remedy for me was to pay the shopper who rode her bike to the store. I said no I don't pay Uber's employees. I suggested they have the store do it. Mind you, they wanted me to take strawberry as a substitute not another brand of vanilla ice cream. Can you believe that? I want my refund. The second I received the notification to substitute I responded to cancel as the shopper was still shopping. This is another example of big business who have many tax write-offs that enable them to pay, if at all, an unfair portion of their taxes wanting to steal the money of the middle class. Well, not today. Today, I am fighting back. It's not about the money. I have taken rides with Uber drivers who state that Uber takes the most of what I pay if I ride. I know that to be true because a driver showed me where he was getting paid $3.00 for a ride, and I know that was so much less than Uber quoted to me. It is the Uber corporation and its affiliated companies doing the same thing. I love supporting these workers, but it seems Uber wants to steal money at all costs from whomever. Well, not here. I plan to take this as far as it takes to stop Uber. So, take a stand. Let me know if anything similar has happened to you by responding to this post. This is the first time I've used Uber eats it was an absolute joke!!! You can literally see when the Uber driver (Monica in Memphis close to st Jude) picks up your food and she was 1 minutes away then proceeded to drive 20 miles away for "god knows what " before coming back our direction. I would definitely recommend not using Uber Eats. It seems like any driver can just make someone what until you cancel the order then they get a free meal on ubers dime. The restaurant was literally 3 miles from us and she decided to drive 20 more miles away. I waited 45 minutes after the order was picked (not ordered) picked up then decided to cancel. I can't recommmend the use of Uber in Memphis enough! We uber'd from the airport to our hotel. When a pickup truck arrived, we were thrilled (here in NYC ubers are usually town cars so this was a special southern treat for us!) Timothy was our very kind and helpful driver and afforded our trip a wonderful start! Once at our hotel, the concierge recomended a hop on/hop off bus service to visit the Stax Museum. When we found out that it would be $40 roundtrip for 2 people (and that we would also be at the mercy of the bus's set schedule), we immediately decided to uber again. Who shows up? None other than Timothy in his pickup! Prompt, convenient and cost efficient. In an odd twist, when we were finished at the Stax museum, a couple that had been on the hop on/hop off bus that we almost took approached us and commended us for making the call the take uber instead - apparently the bus broke down en route to the museum so their whole day was delayed! If you are a tourist in Memphis, I would totally bypass the recommendation to use the hop on/hop off bus and just use uber instead. Far more affordable and you have the flexibility to travel according to your own schedule! read more

Well I have been an Uber fan for quite some time. However it would appear that the Uber App is now doing the same stunt that the airlines have become known for. I checked their fare once I arrived at the airport and then once I was ready to order the ride I went back into the app and the fare had tripled in price. Needless to say I went with the competition for my ride. The bottom line is that it is best to go on the app when ready for your ride, otherwise they may increase the price if they see you have already checked in hopes that you will order the ride for fear that it will increase even more. read more

Uber...Uber shady! They engaged in price gouging and charged $100 on a trip from Overton Square to Cordova...AFTER getting a price estimate of "$25-31". Yes, I understand other things can effect the estimate. Yes, I understand it is an estimate. But there should not be a material difference in the quote vs. actual. If they would have fairly represented their price I would have chose a different course of action and NOT used Uber Shady....It was 1300 and virtually no traffic. This is the definition on price gouging and directly violates the TN Consumer Protection Act and Price Gouging Act of 2002. No wonder this shady company is CONSTANTLY in legal trouble. It's only a matter of (very short) time before this sham of a corporation is belly-up and no longer allowed to operate in such an unethical and illegal manner. Shame on you!!! read more

I used to love Uber and choose it above Lyft or a conventional Taxi. Not sure if they're getting too big to control the quality of their services or what is going on recently, but the decrease in quality of vehicles and drivers is disappointing and sometimes scary. *Drivers show up in other people's cars and you get charged if you cancel the trip when you're afraid to ride with an unidentified license plate. *Drivers show up in the passenger seat with a gf/bf driving for them (super creepy). *Drivers show up with a significant other navigating. *Drivers show up in a car that is over 10 years old with no suspension system anymore. I always send a note- always get an apology. Never get a resolution. Lyft is taking over the game at this rate. read more

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Uber. Just not in Memphis. Of the eight trips I had, six of them had to text or call me to find out 'where I was' even though I had put in the exact address. And the app gives them turn by turn directions. You must be f*cking kidding me. The best however was my ride to the airport, which was about a 20 minute drive. I requested my ride and the guy pops up on my screen, he is 2 minutes away. My hotel was basically right beside the I-240 entrance which runs to the airport. So I watched him get closer on the little screen and then there he was! Then I watched him drive right by, get on the highway, and start high tailing it toward the airport without me. Perhaps it was my fault for inputting the destination and causing him excitedly jump past step #2 (pick up passenger) and directly to step #3 (proceed to destination). Among my regrets that morning was that I did not have a camera crew filming me during what followed. It would have been comedy gold. 15 minutes of me yelling at my iphone screen as he got off the highway, turned back around, stopped for 4 minutes, got off the highway way too early, and started wandering around a suburban neighborhood before I finally, and mercifully for both parties, cancelled the trip. Decided not to rent a car this time for my business travel. The only place I need to be is the office and hotel then airport. I live in a hotel in downtown, which plenty of things to do around and I'm a walker. Very easy application, I can see where is my ride, so far I took 3 and all came within 10 min, and cashless !! Uber sucks now. You would think with everything going on they would make it a little easier to communicate! This driver couldn't find the address when I sent a car for my son and his girlfriend. When I received a phone call I said, "You are there for my blind son and his girlfriend. They both have canes and they are a bi-racial couple. How hard can they be to find?? " The driver cancelled the trip. I called another driver because they were expected at a certain time and were late by then. THAT driver couldn't find them either. That driver cancelled the ride, too! Both times I was charged $5.00. And on both occasions, I tried to call the driver and was told the number I called from wasn't on the account, which it was! What a total s***tshow!!! I told the couple to just go down the sidewalk till they got to an intersection and sent a 3rd Uber to get them. If I had time, I would have used Lyft! I dig it. I prefer it in bigger cities when I can get a town car and feel fancy, but lets face it...Memphis cabs are absolutely horrible (if they even show up) and I am so glad that we have this option in Memphis. We had a great experience using Uber in Memphis! Got to the hotel in five minutes and the only reason it took that long was because the drivers map took him to the wrong place. Deng was our driver and he was great! I would have given five stars, but his map didn't take us to the right place. We were trying to go to the zoo and it took us past it to the middle of the back of the zoo. There wasn't even an entrance there. read more

We were at Minglewood Hall last Saturday night, and needed a ride home. Uber decided to kck in their "surge pricing" - Which was 4.9 times their regular price. I don't mean they were charging 4.9% more. They were charging 4.9x their regular rates. IOW - a $20 ride would've cost $98.00. I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. Needless to say, i'll be using Lyft from now on. read more
