I could not do the Factory Reset for my cellphone. It is fixed now. I tried different times. I spoke with the customer service in Samsung. Samsung was very patient and walked me through the steps many times giving enough time, i.e. enough seconds, increasing the seconds before going to the next steps. After very long time ( I could find out the exact time for "Factory Reset" over the chat session.) Finally, he gave the address to go and get factory reset done. I gave 3 stars, because it is costly and my phone was under Samsung warranty. But I was told that "factory reset' is not under warranty, which does not make any sense to me. The receptionist recommended becoming a member with an option of cancelling the membership. My phone was "Factory reset. 2) I went again and asked for another software repair which needed more fee. I wanted to try it on my own before paying and brought the phone with me. Yes. It is costly. This is the first time that I went to a shop to repair a device. I have few more devices, which require additional tools which I do not have and do not want to shop around to purchase to repair them. I am waiting for 30 more days to take my devices to the shop to ask them to repair. I will update about the repair and cost once it is done. read more

There was something very sus about doing business with this storefront and I was right. I came here last month to have my phone inspected since it had bricked. I was told the inspection itself had costed a figure over 100 dollars but that if I pay the one time membership fee of 39 dollars it would be free inspections for life. I asked for any brochures that explained what my 39 dollars was being paid towards and what benefits I would be getting but they had nothing... A couple weeks later I came back and decided to pay the amount. I received a generic response from Google that my device was not able to be repaired. Weird, I would have thought uBreakiFix would have reached out and that seemed pretty unclear and lazy IMO. Anyway I picked up my phone a few days later thinking that was the end of that. Until 3 days ago I got a recurring charge for another 39 dollars. WTF. There was zero communication about a recurring fee and when they reimbursed me they reimbursed me 35 dollars because I called once I noticed 1 day into the next month and got processed a couple days later? Come on. Part of it feels like it's on me because apparently if you go to a non franchise store (which is what this is) you can get your device checked out for free then you don't have to go through this deceitful process. I've been trying to process a broken screen claim with Asurion for going on 3 weeks now. Its impossible to get anyone on the phone that knows anything or is willing to help. I've been transferred back and forth between att and Asurion nonstop trying to get this settled with no luck. Somehow they have the color of my phone and imei number wrong. When the correct one item it changes the other and this has happened over and over again and ive processed and canceled over 15 claims over the past 3 weeks. Asurion is trash. Their customer service is outsourced and they just give you the run around. DONT PURCHASE ASURION INSURANCE ALWAYS GO THROUGH THE PHONE MANUFACTURER INSTEAD. Warning for future customers, Regrettably this location did not provide the adequate customer service one would expect. I dropped off my Nintendo switch with water damage on January 7, 2026. They mentioned that it would be possible to repair by the 11th, since I was heading out of town. I made sure to ask if they usually carry the extra parts rather than ordering per service-knowing that it would take longer therefore. The person in front double checked with the repair staff in the back and assured me that they do carry extra parts in store. We discussed pricing and estimated the cost to be ~$200, but that I also had the option of purchasing their monthly subscription for $39 with a two month minimum. They said the subscription covers labor, but not the parts. I called on January 10th to check if they would have the repair done on time, but they had absolutely no update to share. January 11th, they called and informed me that they did indeed need to order the replacement part. Since I was traveling, I was unable to immediately pay the invoice. The only time they were consistent in communication was while they were attempting to retrieve my payment for the part. I paid on January 13, 2026. I never received any further phone calls or emails regarding the status of my repair. Almost a month passed, and I called almost daily to receive updates-no one answered my calls over various dates and times. Finally, I got someone to answer my call on February 3, 2026. I explained I had not heard anything from the company. Their response was, "The part had just arrived today. So, we can have the device ready for pickup at 4:00pm". I didn't receive confirmation for pickup until 6:00pm that day-which is when the store closes. During the pickup they charged the same amount I had paid on 1/13. When I called back the day after pickup to resolve the issue, they explained that their system didn't had not shown my payment. I do NOT recommend doing business here. Canceling the subscription is a different story entirely. Per California law, AB 2863 (2024), the cancellation of subscriptions must be one click easily accessible. The Asurion website did not provide that; the Q&A said written consent to request cancellation was meant to be sent to a undisclosed address. I called customer service and they were able to cancel after I cited the law. I called them again for updates and it said same thing over again. three months later, I called them to see what's going on and they say that the can't fix it. So let me get you straight. I've used UBreakIfix for years. Locations closer to our home shut down, so I've been going to this store on Curtner. My main problem in recent years has been the schmutz that accumulates inside cell phone charge ports, especially irksome on our Pixel phones (currently 6a). This condition leaves the phones working and chargeable, but the success of a given charge depends on having a great charge cable. If anything is wrong, the phone is liable to slip off/out just enough to stop charging. (Note: I've also found better luck sticking with USB-C to USB-C cables, that meet the PD standard.) Anyway ... Years ago, these stores would thoroughly clean the ports, including tweezers, taking the case off (I think), vacuuming, , general magic, all for free. Last year, before a drive to LA where I really wanted to depend on charge cables, I took my phone in and paid $30 for a thorough cleaning. It felt well worth it, as charging became *significantly* more reliable! So before another upcoming trip, I brought my phone and my wife's back to this store. Ashanti spoke to me on the phone, and mentioned that a port cleaning now cost $40, which seemed pricey. I was willing to pay that for both our phones and told her I would come in, but hoped she might give me a price break. On the phone she hinted that might be possible. When I arrived, she greeted me up front, and said she remembered having done the work on my phone 15 months ago (!), and verified the price I had paid. She quickly tested both phones and noted that they charged successfully. She said that since they were working, she would happily clean them FOR FREE, as it would only take a few minutes. I protested that the service had value for me, so I wanted to pay for her time working on them, something like $30 plus or minus for both phones. Despite multiple attempts to pay, she insisted that she was okay providing that service for free, but that maybe I should write a review. Here it is! Here's your final review with that correction: I had a great experience at uBreakiFix in San Jose. I brought in my sister's phone for a broken charging port, and in just 90 minutes, they had it repaired and even cleaned the device. The check-in process was smooth, and everything was covered by my Asurion insurance through Verizon--no hassle at all. Shoutout to Alfredo, who was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, providing service with a big smile. I also overheard Alfredo helping the customer in front of me, and he really saved the gentleman some money by offering a great solution. Kevin also stood out--he seemed to be coming back from lunch, saw the long line, and jumped right in to help customers. That kind of teamwork and initiative was great to see. Made me sign up for a membership with a monthly charge of $40 per month for minimum two months or pay $200 just to look at my phone. They said to come back in 4-5 hours. When I did, they hadn't even looked at it! They did a quick check to see that my issue was in fact real and then said sorry, can't fix it unless you leave it with us for two days and pay a fee!! He also told me that they have an agreement with Google so this model would get free repairs if I purchase the service plan. This did not sound bad. So I went along with it. I was sent there by Dell for repair under my contract with Dell. My primary computer was having problems with the Win11 OS and I wanted it repaired or, if necessary, reloaded without erasing my data. What they did was stupid (sorry, but it was). The so-called tech wiped out my Drive 0 SSD and Drive 1 SSD and installed the OS on Drive 1. For those of you that know computers, you'll know Drive 0 is the boot drive (usually called C:) and where the OS should have been. He also said he had to disconnect my SATA drive as it wasn't letting the system boot. Wrong. After getting it home, I found that the OS didn't see any of the other drives and would boot but not properly (no Alienware or Dell logo during boot) and realizing what he did and that it was booting as if it was on a USB drive, I moved the SSD from Drive 1 to Drive 0. The system now boots properly, shows the UEFI logo before the OS and can see all the drives. Next I have to try to recover my data on the original drive that was in Drive 0 and reinstall my SATA drives. Luckily, I had removed my 8TB drive that had my photos and work files on it. If you have a windows PC, go elsewhere for repair. read more

Took my laptop in after I changed the battery and found the keyboard wasn't working. I knew I had probably damaged one of the speakers but didn't want to bother with getting it fixed as well. After seeing signs that said, walk-ins accepted and same day service available I made the assumption that I would get it back within 24 hours or so. That didn't happen, but when I did pick it up, they had fixed the speaker in addition to the keyboard. Will I go back - absolutely! I'm so happy with the job they did, I'm thinking about taking it back to get the rubber gasket fixed as it's getting sticky, I was thinking I would just live with it - but now I know I can get it fixed. My IPhone 8 was shorting or disconnecting from the wall charger and my car. When ever I drove over any bumps or made some turns. I thought the phone was breaking and I was going to need a new on. I was not looking forward on the expense these phones are getting expensive. I saw this place at a local plaza in San Jose called the plant and decided to Yelp them out. I met Devin and she looked at my phone and told me how much it would cost to put in a new port hole into the phone. But before she started that work order. She told me that sometimes it doesn't need to be repaired in that manner all it needs is some cleaning from any dust, lint or particles that get caught inside those little hole plugs. So she took my phone and removed the case and took a paper clip and cleaned out a bunch of lint, cat hairs and junk caught inside eeewww!! I had no idea those tiny little charger holes would get so dirty. After she was done cleaning at NO CHARGE she plugged it in for me to one of the chargers and I heard the phone hook up and started to charge Devin cleaned my phone and I was not going to need a new one after all. I was so happy that I did not need to spend any money. So I bought a new phone screen and had the old one replaced because it was cracked and Devin did the work on that and the cost was perfect for my budget. Made this customer very happy and will let all of my family and friends know about this small tiny cell phone repair shop. If you ever need your phone worked on. if you go here do not get any help from alfredo m. the guys name was alfred m. as shown on the receipt!!! whte male semi long hair but not too long late 20s early 30s maybe... i called him out on his shit in front of the other customers in there as well. there was at least 10 other people who can attest to him admitting he was wrong and admitted to saying they were going to replace it not clean it. he also had the audacity to say i even put it on the receipt it was for a cleaning. no no you said it was getting replaced not cleaned.... i took my phone in for a battery replacement which insurance was covering, i also let them know that my charging port needs to replaced because i could only charge my phone via wireless charging. he goes on to say that they cant do the battery replacement because they have to replace the charging port in order to calibrate it and make sure its works efficiently. so instead paying $250 for that he sold me on signing up for the 5 devices for 39/month for 2months deal. which would then only cost me 80 to replace the part instead of 250!!! so i said ok i paid him in cash!!!! 3hrs later when i came back to pick my phone up his co worker gave me the phone and explained what services they did. the replaced the battery (which is covered by insurance) for $0. then his co worker told me that they didn't replace the charging port they just blew the dust out of it. so when he gets back from lunch i go to get my money back since they didn't replace the part.. he tried telling me that i paid for a cleaning service.... no no no!!! this is where he was trying to bust a scam!!! i paid for it to get replaced not cleaned, if he had been straight up from the beginning and not trying to scam me. i would have never paid 80 for them to clean it!! 20 mins have gone by and hes really trying to stand on not giving me my money back. money i paid for a service they didnt do!! then he goes to the back to call the "general manager" when returns he says "so the best i can do is give you half of what you paid" i said hell no your going to pay me my full refund or the cops will be called and im not leaving until i get paid. i apologized to the other customers waiting behind me for it taking so long. but i was not about to be scammed out of $80 for a service they didn't do!! at this point i was furious... after almost 30 mins of me telling him he was wrong and him admitting he was wrong. he finally gave in reaches for the register and just tosses my money on the counter instead of being a professional and handing it to me! he thought he was going to get away with a scam and make himself some money!!!! news flash you tried the wrong person buddy!!!!! go try that shit with ya mama my boy not me. i will never go in here again and if i do i will make sure it wont be him helping me!!!! my advice if you do go here make sure you record the interaction you have so you have proof! and dont get talked into buying anything you dont need!!! read more

My Galaxy Watch does not pair to my phone. After two failed remote support from Samsung team, they suggested me to go to local authorized office for easier fixing. My watch was out of warranty by 2 months, and I was prepared to pay. The gentleman at the shop (forgot his name) did that for me, free of charge! What an honest business man! He is very professional and nice. I recommend them for phone/watch diagnostics as they have reasonable prices, and you will get your phone back the same day. The store location is in a nice shopping area, with many restaurants, and plenty of parking. It's hard to find honest business who will not up charge or try to sell you service you don't need. Full disclosure: my device was still under warranty, so I did not have to pay out of pocket for any services provided by UbreakIfix. With that said, a few Fridays ago, my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra that I bought 10 months ago started giving me the "moisture or foreign material detected in charging port" notification whenever I tried to plug it in. I tried to troubleshoot it myself: removed the sim card tray and S pen to air out, hair dryer blowing cool, clean toothbrush to remove debris, tried different plugs/cords/outlets, turned off fast charging, cleared cache and numerous restarts, but alas. I booked an appointment for Sunday 12noon through Samsung.com. I was bummed that my nearest Samsung authorized service center was 25 miles from home. But it's close to the highway and the shopping plaza has plenty of parking and restaurants and shops to kill time at. I was told it should be ready by closing (5pm), but I decided to just come back for it the following day. They seem to be very popular as I showed up within minutes of opening each day, and there were already other customers ahead of me. The employees were all very friendly and knowledgable. While waiting in line, I heard their spiels trying to sell their plan to other customers, which actually did sound like a good deal if I thought I had more electronics that would benefit from it. They were very informative and transparent about the plan, but not uncomfortably pushy or aggressive, which is very much appreciated. When I returned for my phone the next day, they had done exactly what they said they would do and explained the process. I'm very happy with the service I received. I wish they had location closer to home, but I will gladly come back here in the future as needed. read more

I took a Nintendo switch to get it fixed ( it would not turn on ). They determined that the device would not turn on and was essentially not repairable. I would need to file a claim - for a new device. But wait! After enrolling in their plan I would have to wait for 60 days before I would be eligible! So I wait 60 days and return to the shop to file the claim. I was told that I cannot file the claim on my own, and someone would need to assist me in filing the claim. Like am a 5 year old! I am now told that I should go online and file the claim. Ok, why are you telling me this now, I could have saved a trip! So as we chat the service guy tells me that once I file the claim, they will ask me to return to the store with the device. When I asked why? He says they need to make sure? You didn't do that the first time, are you stupid? This is called the grand ole runaround, get folks pissed off till they get frustrated or cancel. All this while they are tacking on the $29.99/month. I cancelled! Just avoid these hucksters, their BBB has one star and you can google to see they have a class action lawsuit against them. read more

All the way from Oakland to San Jose I was informed by the technician that they are unable to work on Samsung phones. They have been unable for the last 2 weeks. Yesterday, I was on the telephone with someone who claimed to be at this location on 1 curtner, ste 70. That person told me over the phone that they have two screens in stock and that I should come tomorrow at 1300. When I arrived today I learned that they could not do the work. I also found out that there is only one person on duty at this store. He is helping customers at the front and he is doing repairs in the back. This is a dishonest business that is misrepresenting themselves over the phone. In the store they blame it on the call center in the philippines. When you're on the phone with the call center in the Philippines they blame it on the store. Even worse when I called to cancel I was transferred to a different caller who wasted 12 minutes of my time trying to convince me to not cancel the membership even though I told him like 3 times I want to cancel it immediately.
