Unfortunately, the Amazon database shut down took place in the middle of the repair and we had to come back the next day. My iPhone battery needed replacing before a big trip. I made an appointment with the local Apple Store and they botched the repair, when they somehow mismatched my serial number and the system wouldn't let them proceed. It was escalated through several levels and then they apologized, saying my serial number was correct, but they couldn't make the system get past their mistake. They made me wait a day and still couldn't move forward. So, I went to the local mall kiosk outside the Apple Store. They replaced the battery, but the new one wouldn't charge. So, they reinstalled the old one and refunded my money. I then went to uBreakiFix and THEY WERE GREAT! Not only were they competent and efficient, they use genuine Apple parts! Dan pulled up my phone by the correct serial number, Chen replaced my battery, put on a screen protector, and returned it before their estimated completion time. I wish I had gone there first. Mac Users Beware!! An honest and cautionary tale of how this shop WASTED 2 weeks of my work and personal life with their inexperience, terrible customer service and general idiocy. Now, it was my own fault and nobody else's with what actually happened to my laptop - I spilled water on it in a moment when I was trying to be cautious and I have nobody else to blame but myself. So I immediately freaked out, flipped it over, tried to dry it out as much as I could. Shortly after, the display went black and I force turned it off and left it upside down in a v-shape to try and dry it out further overnight. This was Wednesday night (8/11). Thursday Morning (8/12): After spending a sleepless night worrying, I tried to turn it on the next day and while I would hear the startup sound the screen was black. I was supposed to go out of town in a couple of days, so frantically I called Ubreakifix, as I had seen a review that they had handled a similar situation for someone in the past with positive feedback. The first thing that happens? The person on the phone asks me what computer it is, and then proceeds to say "Oh, that's an expensive computer!" Yes, I know it is expensive - I paid for the thing, I know the price tag. As I am describing to them what happened- they CONTINUED to keep telling me how expensive my laptop is! Yes, I know, can we move on? Frankly this kind of comment from a dingdong that clearly doesn't understand anything about CS or even social skills should have just been my first red flag on what was to come - BECAUSE IT IS AN ENTIRE SAGA OF TRASH. They swore up and down that if I tried to bring in my laptop to Apple that all they would do is refuse me service because of water damage and would make me buy a new machine instead (which is NOT true actually, I found that out a week later when I called Apple). So in my panicked state, I agreed to come immediately and let them handle my machine. Later I am at the shop and the associate is checking in my machine - he asks me some details about it (same person I talked to on the phone), and says what a nice laptop it is and then says "well it was" - who even MAKES comments like this to customers? This should have been my second red flag, but I was desperate to get my laptop repaired as I was going out of town, so I overlooked the dumb comments about my laptop and went home, leaving it in their care. 1 hour after I get home (8/12): someone calls me and tells me that the battery got shorted out as it was reading at barely alive and that they would have to install a new battery to see if there was additional damage - which I approved, and I asked them if they could update me the following day regarding the status of my laptop and they said sure. I was not informed that a new battery would take a minimum of a few days to get in, which I found out the next day when I called them around 5pm! Wednesday Afternoon (8/25): Long story short, 3 defective brand new batteries in a row that I waited for them to ship in one by one later, many phone calls by me to ask them what was going on, and 2 weeks of zero progress, I was FED UP. I took my machine back and brought it to AN ACTUAL Mac Authorized Repair place (they are not one) who took one look at it for 30 seconds and told me that they didn't think it was the battery! The next day, I get a call from this other place and they confirmed that it wasn't my battery at all, but my display!!! So not only had Ubreakifix TOTALLY MISDIAGNOSED my issue but COMPLETELY WASTED 2 weeks of my life and my livelihood with their cluelessness and ineptitude!!! How is this business even still open??? TL;DR: Terrible customer service and social skills, and a total waste of my life that I will never get back or get paid for since I depend on this laptop for work. Two weeks and 3 "defective batteries" later, turns out they have defective brains! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL FOR ANYTHING - If I could give them negative stars I would!!! read more

Dropped off our laptop again after being repaired 2 months ago at same location due to a supposedly previous bad Windows install that's prohibting logging in. 21 days later, still no communication except 'next week' each time we called. Day 21 & still never touched & absolutely no customer service. At least pretend to care, right? Now we get to pay another shop to fix their 'fix'. We used to bring all our electronics there. Love this place, fast efficient no nonsense; mine was a phone speaker problem on my two month old brand new Samsung phone. Factory reset by the Geek Squad at Best Buy did not do the trick. Calling Samsung to honor their one year warranty led me here. Quite the run around. Save yourself the headache and go here first. The team at the Victor location was fantastic. read more
