Crab roe and crab meat noodles

Amazing food, as always! Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. What we have today: - Crab roe & crab meat noodles - Crab roe rice pot (new dish) - Shanghai crab roe fried rice - Classic pork, crab roe & pork, and black truffle pork soup dumplings - Cheesy shrimp potstickers We started with Shanghai crab roe noodles, my absolute favorite here! The sauce was super rich, creamy and packed with delicious crab roe flavor. I can't remember how many times I visit this place just for the crab roe noodles! We also got the chance to be one of the first guests to try their newest dish: Shanghai crab roe rice pot! With the similar savory crab roe sauce, enhanced by a satisfying crunchy rice texture that reminded us of the clay pot rice, this dish was so comforting and very ideal for the winter. Crab roe fried rice is another favorite of mine, always hits, but the soup dumplings really amazed me this time! We got to sample all 3 types of soup dumplings: classic pork, crab roe & pork, and black truffle pork. Each one had its own unique flavor, and I genuinely enjoyed every bite. The dumplings were juicy and perfect for sharing. And lastly, the cheesy shrimp potstickers, which were crispy on the outside, creamy inside, such a fun combination of flavors. It's a bit heavy for me, but I allowed it for this time only! Overall, everything was so satisfying, there's nothing I could ever complain about this place. If you love crab roe, you definitely need to visit Stick & Wok!

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner on Sunday at around 4:30pm with a couple friends. There was no wait when we arrived so we were seated immediately. We ordered four dishes to share. - Crab Roe & Crab Meat Shanghai Noodles: This item is advertised as Shanghai Crab Roe or Crab Meat Noodles on the menu, so when we ordered, we said Crab Meat Noodles. We even repeated at the end after the staff member finished taking our orders. We were surprised and confused when the dish came out with roe. We brought it up with the staff member who brought out the dish and they checked with the person whom we placed the order with. Another staff member also got involved. Essentially, they wanted us to stick with the crab roe and meat. If it's not really a choice between the two, they should really change the wording on the menu. - Pork Soup Dumplings: These were good. The soup was flavorful and had a hint of sweetness to it. - Black Truffle Wagyu Fried Rice: Yummy. I liked that the truffle flavor was prominent and that the Wagyu were small bite-sized pieces. - Spicy Sichuan Green Beans: Well seasoned green beans. Not too spicy. The pieces of pork were a nice addition.

We had a very disappointing experience at Stick & Wok at Westfield Valley Fair, especially with the staff member wearing the red uniform in the picture. When we arrived, she seated us at a table located in a very busy area where staff and customers were constantly walking back and forth. I politely explained that I was uncomfortable sitting there because all the movement was distracting while eating, especially since I easily get dizzy. We simply asked if we could move to another available table toward the end. At first, she told us that the table was reserved, which we completely understood. However, when we politely asked about another table, she immediately told us we could not move there either. What made the situation worse was not even the seating issue, but her attitude toward us. She was extremely cold, dismissive, and visibly irritated whenever we tried to speak with her or make a simple request. We did not feel welcomed at all. The way she interacted with us made us feel as though we were being treated differently, and the experience honestly came across as discriminatory. I have eaten at many restaurants, and this is one of the very few times I have felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome because of a staff member's behavior. Customers should be able to politely ask about seating without being treated as if they are causing a problem. A simple explanation delivered with basic courtesy and professionalism would have been enough. We ultimately decided not to eat here at all and left for another restaurant where we were treated much better. Management should seriously address how customers are spoken to and treated. Good food means nothing if your guests are made to feel unwelcome before they even have a chance to order. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be coming back and cannot recommend this location.

Stick & Wok is an interesting restaurant. I would not necessarily say every individual dish here is extraordinary. The food overall is good and competently executed. What makes this place genuinely worth trying, especially with a group, is the wok-and-wrap concept. We ordered the Mongolian-style Wagyu beef with onions and scallions, served with thin pancakes for wrapping. Of course, wrapping meat and vegetables inside a thin pancake is not exactly a new device architecture. Peking duck and traditional Mandarin pancakes established this technology a very long time ago. There is, however, a reason the architecture survived. It is extremely fun. Put a large plate in the middle of the table, distribute the pancakes, and everyone starts building their own configuration. Some people optimize the meat-to-onion ratio. Some add more scallions. Some apply considerably more sauce than the original design specification probably intended. Then everyone eats, talks, and immediately starts fabricating the next unit. For group dining, it works remarkably well. But from an engineering perspective, I actually found one of the least glamorous components to be the most interesting: the pancake itself. The wrapper is essentially the packaging layer of the system, and its mechanical properties are critical. It must be thin and flexible enough to fold around an irregular payload while maintaining sufficient tensile strength under localized mechanical stress. Once hot beef, vegetables, oil and sauce are introduced, the material must also maintain structural integrity in a warm, high-moisture environment. A poorly manufactured wrapper develops cracks or pinholes. Once that happens, fluid transport takes over. Oil and sauce migrate through the lowest-resistance pathway, structural failure propagates, and suddenly the experiment has moved from the plate onto your hands. That failure mode was notably absent here. The pancakes were thin, soft and surprisingly robust. They tolerated folding, compression and some fairly aggressive user-induced overloading without tearing. No random pinholes. No catastrophic package failure. No sauce leakage all over the operator. The food is the die. The pancake is the packaging. And good packaging can make the entire device work. The fried rice was also quite good. The individual grains remained reasonably separated rather than collapsing into an oily homogeneous mass, while the shrimp, egg, meat and scallions showed good distribution throughout the plate. Nothing revolutionary here -- just good process control. We also tried both the regular soup dumplings and the crab roe soup dumplings. Both were enjoyable, although for me they functioned more as supporting modules than the primary reason to visit. Overall, I think Stick & Wok makes the most sense as a group dining platform. Come with several people. Order a few wok dishes with pancakes, add fried rice and soup dumplings, put everything in the middle of the table, and start passing components around. The underlying Chinese dining concept is certainly not new. But the implementation is good, and more importantly, it makes dinner interactive. Sometimes you don't need a revolutionary new device architecture. You just need good packaging. -- Dr. C Unofficial Food Process Validation Engineer Lot: STICK&WOK-01 Process Window: Stable Food Performance: Good Process Control: PASS Packaging Integrity: EXCELLENT Leakage / Pinholes: ND User-Induced Overloading: Tolerated Group Interaction Yield: HIGH Critical Failure Mode: None Observed Final Disposition: PASS -- RELEASED FOR GROUP CONSUMPTION

Stopped by for lunch and it was super hot inside. Sadly no air flow, I think they needed more AC. Pork XLB - the skin was thin and there was a good amount of soup. However, it lacked flavor. Crab roe noodles - it would've been an easy 5 stars 5 but there was no salt at all. The crab roe sauce was super bland. I did appreciate the ginger tea because this dish is heavy.

I've walked past this restaurant countless times, but it never dawned on me to try it until I saw a video of their famous crab roe noodles. I'd only ever seen this dish made in New York, so I was incredibly excited to finally try it closer to home. We walked in around 11:30 AM on a Saturday, and it was surprisingly quiet with only one other party seated. I absolutely loved seeing the chefs up front wrapping fresh dumplings. It's always a great sign knowing you're getting the real deal, not frozen! We ordered the string beans, XLB, and the crab roe noodles, and every single dish was a 10/10. The crab roe noodles not only tasted delicious, but completely exceeded my expectations of what that bowl of golden goodness was going to be like. You could tell everything was made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the portions were generous, and the pricing was very reasonable. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our meal. By the time we finished eating, almost every table in the restaurant was filled! I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner, but I'm so glad I finally did. I will definitely be keeping this spot in my back pocket as my go-to for authentic Chinese food in the mall!

We were looking at food options to eat at valley fair and stumbled across this place and was overall pleasantly surprised. Thankfully the wait was not too long. They have a lot of classic items on their menu. We got the string beans, pork XLB, crab roe noodles, and fish. All the food tasted amazing. The XLB was very flavorful! The string beans were very salty, we mentioned it to them and they promptly corrected it. The crab roe noodles was new to me, but I loved it. The noodles were a great texture. My favorite dish was the fish. Amazing flavor profile. Would recommend

What we ordered: Crab roe noodles. Price: A bit on the pricier side for a dish but considering what you are eating and quality of the food, you get what what you pay for. It's a fair price and you can share between two people to taste it. Flavor: The flavor was very delicious. Reminded me of a similar dish that I like to order when I am in Suzhou China. I'd say the flavor is on par with something you would get in China. Awesome! Service & Ambiance: The service was good and it was fast. The art on the walls is funny, seems like the backgrounds of the food on the posters were AI generated but it was quite entertaining and it was fun to look at all of them. overall would return!

Wow! I think I found my new favorite place to eat at the mall. A week or so prior to our first visit, my brother sent me a video on social media highlighting the Crab Roe Noodles. The next day, my partner surprised me with an order of the viral noodles (and some yummy green beans) when I came home from work and instantly I was blown away! He mentioned that as he was ordering, the staff encouraged him to bring me to dine-in for our next visit. They recommend eating at the restaurant & enjoying the food fresh for the best experience. Since I loved the noodles as a takeout order, I was eager to try them fresh and was happy to jump at the opportunity to dine-in. We came in to visit on a Wednesday morning around 11:30, and there were plenty of seats available. The staff was very attentive -- the hostess, our waitress, and the big boss (who was in front making dumplings) all checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. For this visit, we ordered the Crab Roe Noodles, Cucumber Salad, Black Truffle Wagyu Potstickers, and the Chocolate Banana Dumplings for dessert. They started us off with some complimentary tomato beef soup, and we watched videos of the food to stir up our appetites while we waited. We absolutely loved EVERYTHING!! The Crab Roe Noodles tasted even better fresh (surprise!) -- a small splash of vinegar goes a long way in adding some complexity to the noodles, adding a hint of sweet umami to the overall dish. The hostess also shared with us that this dish in particular is a Shanghai specialty, with the crabs sourced from lake-water instead of ocean-water. The Cucumber Salad was very refreshing -- seemingly lighter than other cucumber salads I've enjoyed before. The cucumber really seems to shine well in this presentation. Black Truffle Wagyu Potstickers were tasty as well, and has piqued my interest in trying the fried rice next time! The potstickers are presented with an aioli -- together, they reminded us of eating a burger with truffle. Novelty & fun! Finally, we really enjoyed the Chocolate Banana Dumplings for dessert. Served fresh in an order of 4, the banana is infused into the chocolate sauce for a smooth chocolate dumpling texture. My partner regretted not having an order to himself, but you live & you learn! We will definitely be back to try out some of their other items!!

This restaurant is a hidden gem! We came in with no expectations and were all pleasantly surprised with the food and service. Everything we ordered were delicious and hit the spot for Shanghainese stomach (dumplings, pot stickers and salt&pepper pork). Will definitely come back!

We were first in line on a random Wednesday. Clean and super sweet service. There were three tables that came after us. I enjoyed the beef tomato cabbage soup that was complimentary. Warm and savory with a touch of vinegar. Pork soup dumplings were fine. Love the vinegar and ginger. I didn't come here for the dumplings. Mongolian beef was fire! Super tender with a really great taste. Loved all the onions and green onions. Fantastic with rice. Crab roe and noodles were what we came for. Tasted exactly how I thought it would. Rich and a little seafoody. Noodles were bouncy but the twin likes it with rice. Needs to add the vinegar to cut the richness and I also added a little soy sauce and salt. Next time I would pay double to also add the crab meat. I wouldn't drive to San Jose for it, but if I was in the area, I for sure would try to get it again. Would have loved traditional music instead of country music :) Or maybe any other music than country music :)

You walk in and are greeted with being able to watch the people make the dough for the dumplings and noodles. I absolutely loved that touch. Very quick service and delicious food. I would absolutely eat here again any day. The Wagyu wrap came out more like fajitas. I thought it would come out already wrapped up due to the picture on the menu, but turns out they were displaying on the TV screens that it comes out like fajitas so my bad. It was really really fun though because they lit it on fire at the table. Would come for all the deliciousness again.

They have also opened a location in Cupertino that is more convenient for me. Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

They're upholstered in fabric that looks pretty old and worn, which takes away a bit from the otherwise comfortable dining space. That aside, my husband and I really enjoyed the two dim sum dishes we ordered: siu mai and har gow. The har gow in particular was delicious. This is one of those dishes that can easily taste a little "boring" when it's not done well, but Sifu Wong nails all the flavor components. You get the sweetness of the shrimp along with sesame oil and ginger, all wrapped in that perfectly delicate, translucent wrapper. The siu mai was also solid and something I'd happily order again. The half duck was an unbeatable deal at around $24. It comes with that familiar savory sauce you typically get when ordering roast duck from a Chinese grocery store or specialty shop, and for the portion and price, it's hard to complain. We also tried the beef chow fun with black bean sauce, which was a little different from the standard beef chow fun I usually order. The Lychee Shrimp Balls are super unique too; they look exactly like real lychees on the outside but are stuffed with a snappy shrimp paste that isn't greasy at all.
