    The oil!!

My dinner date with my husband at the Campbell location was disappointing last night. It was a weeknight dinner and there were a lot of tables empty. We requested the booth and got it. We ordered the chicken and Ika karage, chicken paitan (ultra spicy) and hakata tonkotsu. Our server had to go home so we were assigned a different server. The food came out very promptly. The chicken karaage was over fried to the point that most of it appeared not like chicken karaage from Marufuku Ramen. I've eaten at different locations before so I know the karaage. The Ika karaage had raw batter in the centre which was cancelled off our check. I appreciate that. However, for the chicken karaage, the server said they can remake it for me. The remade version arrived within a minute or two noticeably drenched in oil. This one was softer and chewable though. I love ramen at Marufuku so I had requested extra chicken chashu in my ramen. They forgot to add egg in mine. I didn't realise it until after we had left and literally pulled up their menu to see that chicken paitan should have come with a soft boiled egg. The ramens were both delicious but the I couldn't see consistency in food here. I absolutely loved this location when I visited 8 months ago and hope that they can improvise.

Marufuku is a fabulous addition to the Pruneyard plaza with an ample amount of both indoor and outdoor seating suitable for large parties and furry friends alike. The interior space is beautifully designed with a bar and cozy booth seating. The Japanese lamps add a warm wabisabi vibe. The menu is really suitable for everyone here- pork, chicken, veggies lover alike will have a lot of selection here. In addition to ramen, they also offer rice bowls, curry, and small bites to share. Chicken paitan - I haven't had such delicious chicken ramen in a long time. The chicken broth is really rich, creamy and strong in flavor. The noodles are on the thinner side and quite bouncy. The chicken breast was outstanding- tender and moist. I love the crunchy texture from the bean sprouts and kikurage mushrooms. Garlic chili edemame- This is a good appetizer to share thats not too heavy and high in fiber. The edemame is more on the firmer side. The chili garlic is delicious. Marufuku buns- I really enjoyed these. The pork is on the drier side in my opinion, but the sauces together create this creamy soy flavor that is so tasty.. somehow they add more moisture back into the pork. Service is top notch. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food came out pretty fast, about 10 minutes or so. I really appreciate how much healthier and lighter the food here is compared to a lot of other ramen shops. We often go to ramen shops and the only thing on the menu is chicken karaage and pork based ramen. The selection here is fabulous and having the outdoor seating is a game changer especially since we like to spend time outside with our dog when the weather is pleasant. Check this spot out if you are craving ramen in the Campbell area.

Came in a few weeks ago for lunch. We've been to the other Marafuku in Cupertino but decided to try this out with the kids. Seem to just beat the lunch rush, but we had a short ~5 min wait. They were friendly and got us a booster and high chair. We ordered x2 A5 Wagyu Maze Soba dishes and some Tori Momo Skewers. The Maze Soba (brothless noodle dish) was so excellent but the Wagyu was only ok. Tori Momo skewers were not too special and could have used a bit more char to them. Wait staff was excellent, very attentive to the kids with their kids plates/utensils and cups with straws. We enjoyed our meal but would probably get different Kushiyaki next time.

First time trying Marufuku and it's a good ramen shop. It doesn't replace Ramen Nagi for me, but is it a good alternative (no one likes long mall lines!). I honestly ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu Deluxe just so I would have corn in my ramen (lol!) The regular ramen didn't come with corn. I also did spicy, but could have done extra spice. It was my first time having kakuni pork belly in ramen and it was super tender and flavorful. I thought it would be too much if I had both chashu and kakuni, but surprisingly I did not feel heavy after my meal. I tend to feel bloated and heavy whenever I eat Ramen Nagi, so I was expecting myself to feel the same after eating a pork heavy meal. However, the broth at Marufuku is lighter and not as oily unlike Ramen Nagi's. My partner got the regular and was also surprised he wasn't bloated, and he normally doesn't like eating ramen for that reason. Only thing I wished is that Marufuku offers thicker ramen noodles, not just thin. I think Ramen Nagi appeals more to me because of the customization, but I do prefer thicker noodles. Lately I find myself gravitating towards Udon Mugizo because they make tasty tonkotsu. I don't mind coming here if I wanted thinner noodles for a change or if a friend wanted to go.

I'm thrilled to see Marafuku open up near me! I've visited other locations, but I particularly appreciate the spaciousness and quick service of this one. I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu. The jammy eggs and flavorful broth are fantastic, with the noodles being the perfect bite. In the future, I would request no bean sprouts and mushrooms since it became too mixed with the noodles at some point. However, I highly recommend adding corn!

Daughter had a craving for ramen and we decided to go out for dinner . I am not a big fan so took the dry version (mazesoba). The dish was very good - the noodles were very tasty and together with the meat made a really good dish . A little too expensive for a 20$ and they should have put more meat but all together tasty !

Marufuku Ramen Campbell in The Pruneyard Shopping Center is a fantastic destination for a satisfying, beautifully presented meal. It delivers great flavor, solid portions, and a wonderful dining atmosphere. The ramen is very good, with a rich, authentic flavor and decent serving size. Beyond the soup, the grilled hotate (scallops on a stick) are a delicious starter. Every dish looks incredibly aesthetic, making a visual treat as much as a culinary one. They had an intriguing limited-time special, a "soup-less" ramen called mazesoba. But we didn't try it. Maybe next time. Opting to eat in the covered outside seating is the best experience at this location. You are entirely out of direct sunlight while still catching a relaxing breeze and enjoy people-watching. The food came pretty fast, but some of the service was a little slow. Pro Tips: They frequently have limited-time menu rotations and test highly rated regional Japanese street-food styles that you won't find on the permanent menu.

This is my favorite Marufuku location! The menu is bigger than the other locations I've been to, with skewers, mazesoba, and even a cream soda special, so there are a lot more reasons to branch out beyond just ramen. I also have to shout out the cocktails because they were surprisingly creative - the hojicha Old Fashioned was stellar. Food-wise, I ordered the wagyu skewer and my usual Hakata Tonkotsu DX Ramen. The wagyu skewer is definitely pricey, but I thought it was worth it. Just a heads up that it's one skewer for $15, whereas the other skewer orders come with two. That said, the char on it was absolutely delicious and really made the dish. The Hakata Tonkotsu DX is still my go-to here. It's one of those tried and true bowls that always hits the spot. I haven't been to the San Francisco location in a while, but the DX version there used to be available in limited quantities each day. I didn't see any such warning at this location. Service was fantastic as well! The staff was attentive, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere is also lovely, especially being right in the middle of the Pruneyard campus. Overall, an easy recommendation whether you're already a Marufuku fan or trying it for the first time.

We've been twice now and it's hands down some of the best ramen I've ever had. I get the tan-tan spicy. It's made with ground chicken and it is AMAZING!!! I personally don't enjoy the salad in it and I get light noodles. And extra eggs! The eggs are perfectly jammy in the center. I cannot wait to go back! Service is excellent Atmosphere is perfect. The patio or inside is great. The food is 10 out of 10.

    2nd best option.

Sit outdoors and enjoy Or the bar as I did tonight! The best seller, pork Ramen is good stuff here just a little shy on the portions of protein! Servers all friendly and place is a casual fun hang that's affordable... Pruneyard is busy!!! Parking , take a deep breath

I've been to the Cupertino location and am so glad there is a location closer to me now. Went for dinner around 6:45 and there was no wait. They had a special, dry ramen with wagyu so I ordered that along with the marufuku buns and some chashu pork. Everything was incredibly delicious and the staff was super attentive and very very nice.

Was supposed to be mild but ended up spicy

This Marufuku location lives up to the Marufuku Ramen name. Our party was seated inside immediately during Saturday lunch. I ordered the Hakata Tonkatsu and asked for it to be mild spice. It came with a bit of color so I thought that's what made it different from no spice. It ended up that they switched my soup base with my nephew's spicy. I ate through it but he was probably disappointed since he likes spiciness. He ended up ordering more noodles so I gave him my remaining broth. Before the spiciness really hit, I thought it was super flavorful and ate all the contents except the soup. Definitely still one of my favorite ramen places.

Oh! I am delightfully full! The rich umami broth really sets this place apart from others. What I…read morereally like about this place is that one may customize the menu depending on dietary concerns (vegan, lactose-free, shellfish allergens etc.), but however one customizes, the quality is fort-rate. Our party consisted of family and friends who had differing dietary concerns, but we were each able to eat delicious ramen without any worries. We started out with some appetizers - the Karaage Chicken and the Umami cucumber. The chicken had a nice crunch, yet the meat was juicy and tender! Nice! I appreciate the matcha salt that came with the chicken, as it added a little extra flavor to the chicken. And the umami cucumbers were joyfully crisp, with a slightly sweet soy sauce base, the sesame seeds and the bonito flakes on top adding to the umami. I ordered the Sukiyaki Beef Ramen - something unique, and it is not listed on the colorful poster on the door, nor was it listed on the menu card on the table. It caught my eye, though, when I ordered using the QR code. I felt like this was something on a secret menu or something . . . I was in heaven! The sukiyaki beef was tender and flavorful with that sukiyaki sweetness, and it perfectly balanced the saltiness of the broth. Oh, darn! I forgot to take a photo of the bowl of ramen!! Oops! Well, as I mentioned at the start of this review, I was delightfully full at the end, especially since I just could not leave perfectly delicious broth in the bowl. Good enough to drink as a soup! I must say, however, that when this place first opened, I was not impressed. And when I ate here two years ago, I was equally unimpressed. Today, however, I am blown away! Whatever they changed really is for the better. They have found their footing and Hinodeya Ramen Bar has matured into a wonderful place for ramen.

A nice selection of different options, though I didn't see anything really exotic like black garlic that you see at speciality ramen places. We ordered the umami Brussel sprouts and shishito peppers as appetizers. I really enjoyed both - they were well flavored and I kept wanting to eat more. Some of the shishitos were a little odd colored though - we wondered what was up with that! They could have been grilled/roasted a little longer in some cases to get that edge-of-burnt touch, but we still very much enjoyed them. As far as the ramen itself, it was fine. As an overall meal, it was pleasing enough. Compared to all the ramen places I've been to, it was mid-tier - not disappointing, but lacked the depth of flavor and umami that makes you want to drink all the broth when you know you definitely shouldn't health-wise. The spiciness was pretty mild, I got the low sodium version, so it wasn't salty. I sampled my daughter's regular sodium (same dish) version, and it may have been a touch saltier, but the lack of flavor depth/layers wasn't just salt thing. It's like the best ramen chefs know how to create an amazing broth to die for, and most places just kind of have a typical flavor that seems to lack the magic of the best broths. So overall, a good experience, but not my go-to ramen place based on my first dining experience here.
