What I like about Josh and his gym is that even though it's a class setting he will customize workouts for your needs. Taking off or adding workouts to your cycles. Every day it is a full body workout and it changes daily. I have also known Josh for years and worked with him in the past. I can tell you from personal experience anything and everything Josh does he does it at 100% and he cares deeply about what he does! One of my favorite things is recently they turned the old pool area in to an outdoor fitness area. It has turf, 10 squat racks, and a fitness rack with pull up bars, premium kettlebells, and weighted slam balls. I wish they didn't take out the sauna and steam room as those are some of my favorite wellness amenities for a gym. The gym does tend to get busy later in the day and machines will fill up, but you can still get a great workout in. Next time I plan to try out one of the many fitness classes that they offer.

From initially inquiring about personal training, Coach Taz was professional and prompt to respond and called me to review my goals and to see what would be a good fit for me and my boyfriend. He recommended the 3x/week hourly sessions with him as well as nutritional education. One of the good things about Gifted N Fitted was the fact that I could go on a payment plan; something that 24 hour fitness was unable to offer me in the past. The price is very reasonable, especially when comparing to other personal trainers at big gyms; the payment plan definitely helped me get started with my weight loss journey while not breaking my wallet! During the workouts, Coach Taz explains each exercise and is so encouraging throughout, even when I may feel like giving up, he's right there saying "10 more seconds! You can do it! You can do anything in 10 seconds" and lots more encouragement that really pushes you. He offers you to use his equipment to stretch after the workout and is never in a rush to answer questions. He also taught us and makes sure that we stretch properly before every workout too. We use the Band App where we communicate, which he also will send us reminders or our times for certain goals we've completed. After our first two months is up, we plan on adding on another month because we're seeing results and don't want to stop! Coach Taz is definitely someone we will be keeping in touch with throughout our fitness journey as he's given us this opportunity and push that we needed to get started. He's flexible with scheduling so was able to meet our needs to when we can workout. I could keep going on and on but he is definitely someone I recommend 100%. I thank him for everything he's helped us with so far!

I use the fitness room and I like the selection of machines and that the machines are consistently being cleaned. EVERYONE that works there is so freindly, inviting and helpful. I met with a female, can't remeber her name but it was for personal trainging and she was the sweetest. The owner was extremely pleasent and the environment in general was so welcoming and calm. I wish I lived closer so that I could be an actual memeber here and if my location ever changes, I'd be back in a heart beat. I've just about tried it all! What brought me in to try the day pass at GyFitness was (1) the dozens of machine options compared to smaller gyms (2) locally owned small business (3) hours are longer than other boutique gyms, and (4) location. I chose to do a month to month membership for $85/month plus tax. I'm happy I did because I ended up needing to cancel due to two bad back injuries and a tear in my knee (not related to working out!). This month to month allowed me to cancel vs. on a long term contract, but the owner Rose and her specialist walked me through the process with grace The crowd is a mix of local, some military, and age range mostly college age up to 50s for the most part. People keep to themselves but the local vibe made me feel comfortable and less judged compared to other gyms, especially after weight gain. There are multiples of most machines, and enough stair masters and treadmills to go around! Office staff was consistently kind and helpful, you can tell the owners are involved on the daily based on the service the staff offers. Bathrooms on the smaller side but clean, and bring your own lock for a locker. The 24 hour option at GyFitness isn't much more expensive than the limited hour option for those who prefer a more empty gym or work early/late. Parking can get busy at peak hours, but you're right next to Costco and two small restaurant centers so the most you'll walk is a minute or two from your car if you don't want to wait for a spot. It's a nice gym if you work Mililani/Ewa/Schofield but live in town, pull over to this gym right off the H2 and get a work out in until traffic dies down. 5 stars!

They also know their products well, and are honest with potential customers. The gym has a lot of equipment, and usually several of the same machines so you don't need to wait long (if at all). The majority of the members are serious, but friendly and approachable. The staff cleans regularly, and most members are courteous and wipe the machines down with gym provided cleaning materials and re-rack their weights.

Monday came and I didn't receive a call from the manager so I called the gym in the afternoon. I explained wha happened and the front desk lady said, "I'm sorry, but the manager declined the request ". Can't waive $20 huh? Thanks manager! Other than that, the gym is awesome! Coach Sina at UFC Waikele is incredible! Her energy, love for passion, knowledge in health and fitness, and her personalized approach is motivating and very inspiring. She is a lifesaver! If it wasn't for her, my health would still be on the back burner. I was a group fitness instructor and then became the GM for a very known gym in the mainland, and I have to point out that Coach Sina definitely possess the attitude and knowledge that make up an amazing Personal Trainer. It all started with an unexpected birthday greeting I received from Coach Sina. Not knowing who she is, she reached out to me on my birthday with a beautiful message and offered a complimentary training session. Being a mom of two and a new business owner, making time for the gym was difficult and not a priority. So I was hesitant to take her up on her offer. We began texting back and forth and she filled my inbox with nothing but encouraging messages that really hit home for me. Her persistence and the time she put in getting to know me... all through text messages... already made me want to meet her in person. So I took Coach Sina up on her offer and scheduled a training session. Seeing her in person was nothing short from pleasantly exciting! I already knew she was a beautiful person on the inside and she is even more beautiful in person. Her kind heart just radiates on the outside as well. Coach Sina has this positive energy that just transcends through the whole room and her smile alone is contagious. We started our session getting to know each other. I filled out a questionnaire and she asked me about my health to see if I had any limitations she needed to consider and most importantly, she learned about my "why". Why did I put my health on hold? Why do I want to get back into shape? Her attention to detail, engagement, and her every will to get to know me makes her very likeable and comfortable to be around. I learned why she became a personal trainer and given her medical background, her passion for helping others is clearly evident. We then began our workout. We did rows to warmup and did a mini circuit with kettlebells and the resistance rope trainer. With every move and every exercise, Coach Sina explained with the most minute detail of the benefits of each exercise and showed me, not only verbalized, how to perform every exercise safely and correctly to maximize the benefits of each move. She exercised with me and motivated me throughout our entire session. I learned she is a Medical Assistant so knowing she had that background was already reassuring for me in case I overworked myself. We kept on with our session and she was very attentive and observant. She knew when I had more strength and energy to give and exactly when I needed to take a break. The one thing she emphasized that really stuck was that I can get a complete full body workout in a short amount of time based on the exercises I do and she proved just that during our session. In our mini circuit, my arms, legs, core, back, and shoulders were on fire, my heart was racing, and I was dripping an ocean all in less than 30 minutes. It was a workout I definitely needed! After our workout, we sat back down and we discussed my fitness assessment. She could tell how badly I wanted to get back into a fitness routine and she was right. Coach Sina then shared with me the enticing personal training packages UFC offers. My heart and my head wanted to jump right in and say "sign me up" but my wallet said otherwise. The "only" reason why I didn't sign up for personal training is because of my finances. I recently opened my own business without any loans so every penny has been out of my own pocket. Splurging on myself is not a priority right now but training with Coach Sina is something I want to do in the near future. Although I wasn't able to sign up for personal training, Coach Sina still shared specific exercises I can do to slowly get my body back into a fitness routine and she taught me the importance of my nutrition. We went over my daily water intake and she shared with me the importance of taking daily vitamins and supplementing my nutrition with healthy nutrients I wasn't getting from my meals alone. Coach Sina recommended dotFit's Active MV multivitamins and Lean MR shake which I did purchase. She also advised me on when and how often to take these supplements and reminded me of my daily water intake. "No to ice cold water," she said. Since then, Coach Sina has still been in touch with me weekly with texts reminding me to continue to take my vitamins and drink a shake, especially when I'm craving chocolate. Coach Sina still sends me encouraging words and the fact alone that she takes time out of her busy schedule just to check up on me already speaks wonders. I'm sad for myself that I can't train with her personally right now, but I am soo happy and excited that UFC has such an amazing trainer available to their members!!! read more

UFC gym has been awesome, thus far! Started back up in the gym life about a month ago, and haven't been disappointed! If you haven't checked out Waikele yet, you should inquire with Coach Sina. One factor in particular that made me feel right at home was Coach Sina. A future, bad ass personal trainer that loves what she does. I was offered a consultation with her to get me back on track safely, especially in the gym. I've made excuses in the past to get back into shape due to sports injuries and work related injuries, that I think it was time to get motivated once again. And, of course, because I got lazy and my biggest excuse was "life got in the way", that when my consultation came with Coach Sina, I felt at ease when she gave me confidence to set some goals and be about it again. She basically did a walkthrough about where my mind and body was at currently so she could set me in a position to fulfill goals with what I was pushing for with my body. I got to openly state what I wanted to do, knowing that it really was gonna take a lot of time to get me where I wanted to be. She, in return, made it clear that she was gonna have my back every step of the way and she was gonna make sure that I understand ever step and effort needed to do perform safely and get results. A few goals that I wanted to execute was strengthening my core, toning up my arms, and beefing up my thighs and booty! I actually enjoy doing full body workouts because it allows me to target all parts of my vessel in the same time, if not less, if I did single workouts. During the consultation, she had me perform a few exercises to see how severe my injuries might be, that may effect my abilities to work out. One of which I actually do often at the gym now, is the rope machine. That machine is life! It targets not only my arms, but my legs/booty, my back, and helps my body to open and rotate with as much resistance as I want. It's definitely strengthens your core and it's safe. She took the time to observe every move I made, but didn't push me too far where it was too painful. She corrected me throughout the consultation and gave me pointers on what I could do and use to help better my chances of accomplishing my goals safely. Squats was one of my biggest goals, but hugest concern, because I have both a back injury from my previous jobs, and a knee injury from sports in high school. She observed my every move, and never forced me to continue when I knew things started to hurt. During the exam, she noticed that in mid-squat, I would tend to put more weight to one side and that I would lunge over more than I should. That's something I never took notice, and that tripped me out. She had me try doing squats on 5 lb plates to help assist me during the workout, and I was amazed. It was actually easier to squat with the plate than it was without the plate. Being slightly elevated on my feet helped ground me a whole lot more! She definitely knows what she's doing when training people and assisting them, even with prior injuries. Simple steps like that can make a big difference in your strength and well-being in the gym, and I have her to thank for that. What I dug about her the most was her passion in this career. We got to sit down and get to know one another on all types of levels, not just about the gym. She really wanted to know what I was about, both past and present. She was very personable, full of life, and portraits what ambition is. She made me feel as if I knew this chick for years! Very down to earth, she has a great personality, and she's hilarious! Awesome traits I like to see in someone that I'd be spending most, if not all, my time in the gym with. I don't know anything about what the career entails about being a personal trainer, but she definitely was personal and one on one with what I wanted and needed to know as far as my goals. I feel that her knowledge in the industry is awesome, and for sure, a huge benefit to those who need a trainer! She opened up to me about her appetite for knowledge to pursue her career even further, and she wants to be on that constant grind of helping people out and coaching! Not only to benefit them in the gym, but even outside to explore all the resources that surround us. Aloha! I have been a member at this gym almost two years now, so I figured it was time to write a review about this marvelous establishment. I am a 20 something year old who has tried various gyms in both California and Arizona since age 16; and let me tell you, not one of them compares to UFC. Not Chuze or LA Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness; none of them. Now, the UFC gym in Mililani is extra special; not only because it won cleanest gym (woo!), but because of the atmosphere. The people, the energy- I am sorry to say, but it is unmatched. They have the BEST coaches and instructors for the MMA / boxing and group fitness classes. I have not tried them all (especially because there have been brand new ones added in 2020), BUT I have done a pretty good amount. I can say with confidence that you should check out the following classes: - BODYPUMP - Boxing Conditioning - Boxing Skills and Techniques - Daily Ultimate Training - Fight Fit - Kickboxing Conditioning - Killer Cycle - R.I.P.P.E.D. - TRX - Yoga Flow Lastly, this gym truly wouldn't be what it is without its AMAZING staff. Haven't been to the gym in 20 years. Decided to go back to the gym ( mainly for our kids 10,7,5 and My Wife made me do it), it's been 3 months and counting. Thought we could go couple days a week as a family. Boy were we wrong!!! Started off slow mainly because they have classes for kids and also have conditioning classes in parallel next to each other. The classes for us are the way to go, nothing like working out and not having to think about what you should be doing. The programs that they offer are great for the whole family( nerf wars, pop ups, special events... etc...). As of right now (3 months later) I currently get to the gym 4-5 days a week, and 2 of those days are multi class days. I leave the gym looking like I went to the pool or peed my pants (just sweat... I swear). My wife is also at the gym as much as I am. Thanks to the kids club we're able to go as much as we do. The classes are great but on top of that I wanted to make sure my technique was good. I decided to get one on one classes with Coach RYAN MONDALA, best decision ever! I meet with him 2 times a week on top of his normal classes. Coach Ryan is an expert at his craft, his combination of workouts perfectly compliment each other. He puts together series of interval exercises that concentrate on that specific area. Long story short! Coach RYAN is good at what he does. The staff has been the greatest (too much to mention) all of them are very welcoming everyday. Coach Melissa Vasconcellos(my wife's coach) easily would be my next coach of choice. All the coaches have a specific and unique way of conducting their classes. Once you start to frequent the gym you realize there's a lot of people doing the same thing you're doing. You'll see a lot of the regular people that go there and it'll feel like an extended family. Darlene, as I understand it when someone continues to charge your account even after that person has left the company you should be allowed to continue using the facility. Also they told me that they asked to take the card off file which your members of staff clearly didn't listen and follow the customers wishes. The offensive behavior accusations is completely ridiculous this is the only way possible to ban these two gentlemen from the gym and you as a company should be ashamed to have to make up such allegations to have a reason and to back themselves as they know they are wrong. Was the offensive behavior you are referring to before or after the GM got all members of his staff around these two gentlemen to humiliate them in front of staff and other members. I think you need to be more concerned about the people running one of your gym locations. I believe you have cameras maybe you should check them. They would have been fine with the rate increasing if a conversation had taken place before hand and their cards not being charged every month. This is an employee issue as an employee you should be talking to the members and telling them they can't get those rates anymore not charging them each month and then complaining there using the gym. There is also a member of staff at your gym who told them when there end date was. However, when kimo was humiliating them the member of staff was asked by the two gentlemen about the date he had told them which he then lied to there faces. I don't think this gym is a pleasant place at all and people should be very cautious before joining that location. I also understand you have to defend your employees but you need to be more fair and think about the members points of view maybe it would help the gym. read more

When anyone first walks into the gym you will notice the big welcoming smiles from the AMAZING STAFF! The staff makes you feel welcomed foremost. The Gym is clean, and everyone to include patrons, staff & clients help out to keep the gym clean. I have jumped into many of the classes offered such as FightFit, DUT, Cycling, TRX, MixxxFIT, ZUMBA, Yoga, MMA, there are more classes I need to jump into. The Coaches & staff are willing and do go above and beyond to help everyone push past their limits to reach their goals. The staff constantly are seen walking around the gym providing proper instructions on how to do exercises "The right way". I love this gym. I've gone to multiple gyms for many years, but UFC has the equipment, variety of classes, and the type of people and mentalities I enjoy. I've been to all three but usually go to waikele. One of the trainers, Sina, was amazing. I have my personal goals I am trying to reach, but find it hard to keep myself motivated and for my own reasons have been self conscious about my weight and overall looks and fitness level for years. Sina was not only someone that was enjoyable to be around as a trainer, but I was comfortable since I didn't feel judged and embarrassed. She would always greet me with a friendly smile and was always so positive. I was still nervous and have never worked with a personal trainer, but I'm determined to hit my goals and decided to take a chance. Sina was a great inspiration, encouraged when I wanted to give up, pushed me to keep going, helped me to remember my reasons for working hard and reminded me of my goals, and ultimately helped me to reach my goals with an increased desire to continue. I feel I have a long way to go still, as I'm sure everyone feels sometimes, but Sina was a great friend, trainer, someone to look forward to being helped by, and I felt she took a real interest in me, my goals, and a desire to help me reach those goals. If you're a beginner and thinking about getting a trainer I HIGHLY recommend Coach Jun Michael. I personally never worked with a trainer before but Coach Jun was a easy person to talk to and taught me a lot! Very understanding guy and if the workout is too hard he'll always find something easier for you to do and plans workouts according to your goals, so the training is very personal to your needs. I was actually driving…read morenear the auto parts store and I noticed this garage that had a giant boxing ring in the back and a lot of different types of punching bags. Curious, I stepped inside and saw two guys in the ring with headgear sparring with each other. I also saw above me on the walls these giant pictures of all the fighters the gym trained. I was greeted by Coach Phil who looked a bit intimidating at first, but was very nice guy. He talked about how most people don't even know there's a boxing gym in Aiea, but said they were legitamate none the less. Going on to say that unlike other gyms boxing gyms where guys would have ego and start beef, BoxFit is about respect and honing your skills in order to get better. Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced competitor, Coach Phil said we're all learning new things everyday at our own pace. He said if I'm curious, come to a class (first one's free). If I like it, I can join. If not, no sweat. So I came the following Tuesday evening. Coah Phil said he normally swings by the gym during late evenings around 8pm so I would be trained by Coach Jazelle. I recognized her from one of the fighters pictured up on the walls. Like Coach Phil, I was also bit intimidated by her at first but eventually I learned she was also nice. Before the class started, she taught me the basic punches like the jab, stright, hook and uppercut. She said I need to remember those punches. I also noticed that the age of the participants were quite varied. Some looked to be in grade school, some looked to be only a few years younger than me and there were also a few who looked to be older than me. It was a really diverse group of students. So during the beginning of the class, Coach Jaz told us to get in our stance with our hands up. She called out certain punches by their assigned number and we were to perform those punches. At times she would demonstrate the correct form for those punches and tell us to do them again. We would do this for about 10 minutes. Next we would follow a certain curriculum that's written on a dry-erase board. They would be activities like performing combinations on a heavy bag, practice punch timing on the speed bad or the double-end bag, running, box jumping and many other exercies. We would spend about 3 minutes per station. Even though it was only a 45 minute class, it feels like a full body workout. Of course I decided to join the gym, but there are different tiers for the membership. You pay to either go once a week, twice a week or an unlimited number of times per week. How this works is let's say you sign up for the once per week membership and you go to the morning class on Tuesday. After that you feel like you have enough energy to join the evening Tuesday class. You can do that. Once a week meaning you can train all you want for one day out of the week and you can do all the classes or free training on your chosen day. With other gyms like 24 Hour Fitness and UFC gym, they can cost an arm and a leg while also feel quite boring. With BoxFit, the initiation fee is a lot less and I actually feel motivated to go to this gym. I'm never bored there. I want to learn to punch faster, slip punches, increase my stamina and my agility. Also if you want to box competitavely, they do that there as well. You would just need to talk to the coaches. Everyone has their own skill level and their own pace so don't feel frustrated. The coaches will help you. For anybody who wants to try something new and get active, I would highly recommend checking this place out. You can sit on a foldable chair and observe the classes to see if they're right for you.

Coach Phil is very knowledgable and works great with boxing enthusiasts of all ages. During the class times you find men, women, and children of all ages working out together. At only $75 a month for unlimited training, you can't find anything comparable like that on the island. A great workout that keeps you motivated and coming back for more several times a week!

I finally went in person and saw on the door that service is by appointment only. I have an appointment set for tomorrow. It is unfortunate because up until now, I've appreciated my membership. I am canceling because I got my own rowing machine, which is why I became a member in the first place.
