I parted ways with UFC on Friday after purchasing 12 private jujitsu lessons back in September which I only attended 8 of them and decided not to go back. Here are some pros: the coach is very knowledgeable and talented. The lessons are extremely fun and you can learn fast. It's definitely a good workout. Here are the cons: The mat has a forever horrible smell, by the second lesson the coach made a weird comment about me paying for conditioning not jujitsu. I told him to talk to his manager because I paid for jujitsu private sessions. Just because I'm in good shape doesn't mean I have to pay more. One lesson was only 40 minutes long because the coach was late and also ended the class sooner. The instructor literally canceled one morning 15 minutes before the class and I was basically pulling in to the parking lot . Some lessons were 50 minutes. When I showed up for a lesson he decided to have another guy join without asking me and that's it's not ok. I called to talk to manager twice and was told I was going to receive a call. Nada. I finally had to go in person to cancel and pay them more money for the gym membership. I told the people in the front desk what happened they said the manager was in meeting of course. No one cared. So my advice is take your money to small family owned Martial Arts academy where people are hopefully more professional and considerate of your time and money! read more

I'm going to start with saying you cannot get better service with a membership anywhere else. The prices are great when you break down what's included. Great hospitality from Adolfo! Had an appointment to tour the gym when it opened and I was not disappointed. The layout is great with plenty of squat racks and free weights for everyone. They have so much variety you can literally find anything you need here including a post workout meal. So.. I have little people in my life and they have been participating in Jiu jitsu classes at UFC gym for about 6 months and they love it! Their instructor is Matthew Pollino and they have learned a lot! So much in fact one of them almost took me down while demonstrating what they learned in class,one day. Needless to say I might have to start training on my own but... We as a family truly enjoy jiu jitsu classes at UFC they learn techniques, respect and have fun which as a parent is more than I can ask for. I been to a few gyms around Oxnard area and most of them don't allow chalk or grunting but this gym is very motivating their is a variety of different training styles from bodybuilding,powerlifting and combat sports. I was hesitant to join a UFC gym since I don't know much about UFC fighting. But after 6 month of steadily going I've grown to love it. The staff is welcoming and super friendly. I have found the gym that has taken me away from 24hour fitness. This is my gym! Love the classes. They have everything from martial arts conditioning to Hiit to cycle to Les Mills to Zumba! Lots of workout equipment - tons of treadmills, stairmasters, weights, machines, and even a sauna room in each locker room ! There's a whole outdoor area with more workout equipment, battle ropes, weights, and a big contraption where you can do a bunch of other exercises on. This gym also has a great option for training in martial arts. They have a huge fighting ring, boxing bags, and a mat area. And they have classes for adults and children to condition in jiu jitsu, boxing, and wrestling.It's open 24 hours Mon-Fri and they even have a juice bar for freshly made smoothies and meal preps to go or eat right after a workout. For an extra cost , they offer recovery options like leg compression, cryo machine, hypervolt massage, spray tanning, and a body composition scale that will give you more data than just your weight! This gym is also very clean. Lots of stations to clean and wipe up after yourself and a full time employee who is cleaning everything else. And this gym has a kids club to babysit the kids that are too young for the membership or don't have one. So this gym basically has everything you need to lead and live that healthy lifestyle. The most important thing in a gym is cleanliness and this gym is one of the cleanest! At first I only used the normal gym equipment (weights, cardio machines). Then I was introduced to 2 of the best trainers! Coach Matt Pollino and Brendan Barrett are the reason I decided to take a leap of faith and start using the full membership perks you get here. Very nice gym, however the service has been absolutely dreadful. None of the staff members in the front desk possess any real customer service skills. Not to mention the blatant rudeness I've received from a couple of the girls working that front desk. There is a huge lack of urgency upon the the inquiries I've submitted -- on more than one occasion now. I was told someone would follow-up with my questions in regards to my account and nobody has yet reached out. The staff members at this gym don't seem to hold any accountability, and the times I've visited they all appear to be just choppin' it up, hanging out nonchalantly. The sales team is just that. Sales. You're nothing but another a number to them, so it's pointless to approach them for any service related questions. All of that, plus the fact that there's a massive swarm of people constantly roaming about the gym not wearing masks - staff members included. I know it's hard to workout with a mask, but at least pretend like you care for the personal safety of your team, as well as your members. I've been given the runaround when it comes to my cancelation - looking forward towards cutting all ties with this place. read more

I've been waiting for something like this to open up and it's finally here. Regular gyms offer weights, yoga, indoor cycling, etc. But how are they different from one another? They're not. Its all the same, until the UFC Gym came around. Here you get the same weight training and yoga and all the other typical stuff. And you also get MMA training. You get world class instructors teaching you Boxing, Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, plus you get the same conditioning training that the MMA fighters get. You get all of this for basically the same price you pay at other gyms for weight training only. This is a no brainer to me. I signed up and then I signed up my entire family. Now we can all sweat, lose weight and train like fighters. And my wife can put on gloves and beat the blank out of me. Sounds like fun. :) read more

The UFC gym has been great, all the equipments are new and clean. I love the environment when I work out there. I try to work out when it is less crowed in the mornings. Evenings seem to be too crowded for me. I feel like the best experience of the gym are the classes and personal trainers available to you. They have classes for all levels of fitness as well as classes for kids. All the personal trainers seems very nice with great expertise. I have been doing my personal training with Jeremy twice a week since the gym opened in March and have been loving every session. Jeremy is very flexible with my schedule and really helped me focus on areas that I need help with. I definitely feel 100 times stronger in this short time than I first started.
