I have ordered from Ujena a few times in the past, however, when I saw that they now have a showroom store, I was really excited! Their suits are great quality and offer all kinds, especially some fun and sexy options. My husband is IN LOVE with the conservative-looking one-piece that becomes sheer when wet-- and I can't believe how comfortable it is! The showroom does not have many suits/dresses/pjs, but I was happily surprised to find out that you can sit down at an adorably girly computer station, pull up the website, and the shopkeeper will bring out all items you like from the back. And she was so patient with me when I asked for suit after suit after suit! And, I just found out that they can do custom suits, beginning in August! I am sooo going back to have 1 or 2 suits made in the exact color and style that I want, and, for not much money, will have a one-of-a-kind suit that fits me divinely! Ujena is a DEFINITE must, and don't even get me started on how soft their pj are! I just wish that they had sale items or special offers on the website more often, but, oh well, you can't get everything... read more

Since they now make the suits in Mexico. The quality has gone dome. Returning an item is not so easy. You need to remit $5.95 and pay the shipping cost for the return. It's a horrible way to get refunded or exchanged. read more

Borderline criminal, I had ordered something that needed to be returned previously. They did not give a refund but gave me a code to be used on a future order. There is nowhere to put the code to take the money off prior to order, but says to put it in the customer notes. It says your card will only be charged the difference. They charged me full price and said to try again in the future. You should just order elsewhere. This place is awful. read more

In preparation for my surf trip to Costa Rica I needed to find the perfect swimsuit for the beach. I don't like buying things online so when I found Ujena on Yelp I was really excited to see that their showroom in Mountain View was open for customers. I called the number listed here on Yelp and made an appointment to stop by. Once I arrived I looked through the items they had on the floor. There wasn't a huge selection but there was enough to get started. Julia and I went through the website and picked out several more suit options. She went to the back and picked out a number of different things for me to try on. There is only one dressing room at Ujena so beware. I would imagine that as bikini season gets closer you may have to wait a while to try on your stuff. Thankfully there was no one there so I could take my time trying things on and checking myself out ; ) I FOUND IT! The perfect one! It totally accentuates my curves and keeps 'the girls' looking hawt! The only problem was that I needed a little more coverage in the boob area. Hey, I have DDD's and they need coverage, especially if I'm going to be surfing! So, Julia said they could add an extra 1/4" to the cups for more coverage. SOLD. I ordered the suit and picked it up 5 days later. I paid $105 for a custom-made swimsuit (made in the USA)! They have dresses, cover-ups, shorts and other apparel there too. I called the company, and they said they had never gotten any feedback like that before, and suggested that I send them back. Total waste of money !! Never buying from them again!!! Thanks to yelp, i found Ujena and I had a great experience at the showroom. Julia was extremely kind, patient, and helpful. Using their website, we looked for various bathing suit options that would be flattering for my body type and she kept carrying out different sizes, styles, and colors, until i was completely satisfied. I love that they have so many different styles, because I'm curvy and I have a voluptuous behind, so it's often hard for me to find a bathing suit that looks good, holds everything in, and is comfortable. I hit the jackpot here, they carry higher cut bottoms and beautiful tops with good size cups. Win-win :) I also love that they have larger sizes that don't cut into my love handles. The fact is, they make everything there, so they have something for everyone and the other nice thing is they can alter the suits (if necessary) in off season, Sep-Jan, i think? The fitting room is very cute and homey and I love the mirrors. I am so happy with both of my bathing suit purchases and my husband loves them too. Can't wait to wear them on our honeymoon. After asking some local people i found that they have a warehouse on the specified address where they handle shipping and deliveries. And then i realized that all reviews here on yelp are more than 1 year old. Do not try to find the store or call them because you'll be very upset. Ujena Swimwear - Loving my new "La Noir Mademoiselle!" - Swimwear Near Me - Mountain View, California

Ujena pays Yelp to have their bad reviews taken off, or my review goes beyond guidelines....so here's a repost. BUYER BEWARE.... Step 1: November, I went to the showroom and ordered 2 suits. I was told the fabric on display rings was for bathing suits and was also told I would receive satisfaction guarantee even though I wouldn't be back for a couple of months. At the time of purchase I saw a lady walk by and the only thing she said to the employee was "MAKE SURE YOU GET HER CC INFO" (felt rude to be honest, but I didn't judge) Step 2: I tried to return 1 of the suits after my return from South America as it was not breathable in nature and basically waterproof. Held a lot of water and almost fell off of me! What a disaster! Step 3: I had a back and forth email correspondence after my trip with talk Catherine Cross which eventually led to a phone call. I was sensitive to her rude temper over the phone, but again gave the benefit of the doubt as she allowed me to send in the suit to see what she could do. At this time I realized she was the woman who asked her employee to verify my CC info in the store based on her attitude over the phone. Step 4: I get a letter in the mail basically saying "While I understand your complaint of the item not being breathable of nature, it is a special fabric THAT WAS SELECTED BY YOU and made just for you". They offered a $30 credit, which is of no use to me, because they no longer have custom cuts or a showroom. Their fabric was placed on the round table of the changing room for picking, so how was I to know this fabric wouldn't work out? Waste of time and $$$...also not to mention not very accommodating AT ALL. I'd take your money elsewhere for a suit that price. If I'm able to post pics/vids I will but not sure that I'm able. I agree with the other 5 star reviews. The customer service here is outstanding. I searched yelp and had no idea this was a warehouse/showroom. I waltzed in thinking I'd be in a store filled with racks of bathing suits. I walked in and realized I was in a warehouse and was about to turn around and leave. A girl came out (forgot her name) and asked what styles I was looking for. I asked for a brazilian cut and she came out with 3 suits to try on. She checked in on me and offered to bring different cuts. She was not pushy at all in terms of sales which I loved! I am a huge fan of online shopping but I really enjoyed my experience here. I was torn between a sample and buying a suit that I immediately needed. I will come back again and pick it up once they get more in! It is summer time! read more

I highly recommend Ujena to anyone looking for a great selection and great customer service. I am one of those women who loves to shop for anything...except swimwear. Shopping for swimwear in general is bad enough, but add that I'm plus sized and it's off season, and I had no chance of finding anything except maybe a plain black tank or a tropical-print swimsuit version of a muumuu. My experience at Ujena has changed my mind about swimwear shopping by eliminating so many of the obstacles I usually find: 1. There's little to choose from 2. What's available in my size doesn't fit well or isn't flattering 3. It takes hours and I usually come up with something I'm not excited about, but will do the job until I find something that fits better Julia, the lovely salesperson, greeted me warmly and didn't bat an eyelash when I said I needed a plus sized swimsuit. I was treated like any other customer, and I wasn't ushered to the segregated "Women's" department (usually the dungeon of a department store, next to housewares - because why would I want to shop in the same area as my size 10 friend?). But I digress... She sat me down at a computer and asked my size, suggesting that I was probably a size smaller than I thought (she was right!) and that the styles I love but shy away from really could work with my body type. She patiently helped me click through dozens (!!) of choices until I had selected 7 or 8 favorites. In just a few a minutes she'd come back with the suits, steered me to their adorable fitting room where I had plenty of room to try things on and enough mirrors to give me a great view of what the suits looked like from all important angles. I ended up choosing a beautifully cut, modern, red suit that doesn't look like it was designed for an 80 year old synchronized swimmer! Plus I was in and out in well under an hour. If you hate swimwear shopping, don't give up; go to Ujena! read more

So many styles. So many options. Great customer service. Sure you can get a bikini almost anywhere. But do you have the body type to fit into any swim wear? Well i don't and with my busy lifestyle i had no time to go out trying to find something. i needed a bathing suit fast. I actually went down to the show room and met Catherine. She listened to what i was looking for and it was nice to get 2 suits that actually looked great on me. She analyzed my body type and really took the time to make sure i felt confident in what i was wearing. I even got a few beach town outfits. This review is for the showroom, as I live in Mountain View and needed a swimsuit ASAP when I came in. It was late july and all the big box stores had already started swapping out swimwear for back to school. The saleslady was very kind and inviting, and she was very helpful when I came in to see swimsuits. I told her my criteria: must have underwire, lightly padded, two pieces. She was very knowledgeable about the line and knew which suits to suggest. I didn't know my size so she brought out every size I possibly might need in every design i said i wanted. It helps that the showroom is right next to the factory so many things were in stock. If it isn't in stock (like it's so new they havent started making them yet) they'll make one for you as soon as they can and ship it to you or let you know when to pick it up. I should note: their website has slightly trashy looking models and poses, but don't let that deter you! Their swimsuits are really good material and cuts, the saleslady will totally help you out with whatever level of coverage you are most comfortable with. With this little cloth on, you need to feel as comfortable and confident as possible! They only have one fitting room, but really it's a non issue. You're not waiting in line here.. Fitting room comes complete with noise machine, cute beachy decor and robe. They accept credit cards but do not do returns, so choose carefully. The suits are definitely more pricey than budget big box stores (see site for prices I guess) but this is a This-Is-The-One-Swimsuit-I-Need-To-Look-As-Awesome-As-Possible kind of place, and it'll be the only swimsuit you need. read more

I have purchased 4 bathing suits from UjENA, and I must give them a 5 star rating for quality, service, and fast delivery. My first 3 I ordered on there website, They were a special order, and they custom made the style I love. The suits were delivered in 3 days. Perfect fit, quality is the best, and they are beautiful. The 4th suit I decided to call the store to schedule an appointment. They close at 5:00, and I knew I could not get there before they closed. I called, and Julia answered. I explained my timing, and how I could not get to the store by 5:00, Julia, replied...NO PROBLEM, I will wait for you. I arrived, and Julia was so much help. She showed me all the different suits, and helped me with my fabric selection. Again 3 days my suit was delivered! Julia was so much help! Thank you Julia, your the best!! read more

All I can say is, WOW! I visited this shop based on other Yelp reviews here and I was not disappointed. I went in with my 4 year old son and they were great with him, even tolerating the typical boy antics of chasing them around the shop and, yes, into the manufacturing site :( (he fell in love with the two women helping us.) And I must concur, they were awesome. From the moment I walked into the showroom, Julia was greeting me pleasantly and excited to help. There was also a nice lounge in a separate room that was tastefully decorated and restful. Julia brought out the selection I had chosen to try on very quickly and I was ushered into the changing room. This may be the only slightly awkward point, as it resides behind a white curtain in the front showroom lobby. However, it was cute and had that nice sound machine someone else mentioned, which happened to also be a nice distraction for my son to play with. I came up with a suggestion while in there based on one of their cute displays - perhaps a coverup/robe to put on so that one can exit the changing room to continue the search for the perfect suit without putting your clothes back on, and off, and on.... :) After trying on several suits the one I preferred was not available in my size anymore. The alternate suit was cute but didn't fit just right. (anyone else ever have that problem?) I couldn't believe it when she suggested they alter the suit for me. Well, OK. Then, someone else comes out from the back and has even further suggestions for the perfect suit. I felt very pampered. It turns out, not only did they alter the suit to fit my shape, but they also made other design changes I had liked, based on the unavailable suit I had preferred, and shipped it to me in two days. I can't recall ever receiving this level of customer service before and I have a long background in the industry myself. Sorry I went on but I just had to share how excited I am to find this company. I was browsing on line and was going to order the selected suits to be shipped directly to my home when I realized that the Ujena Wherehouse is located only a few minutes from my home. I called them and was immediately impressed by the lovely greeting from Julia. She was so nice, informative & patient. When I arrived to meet with her, she was just as lovely in person. Julia is so very helpful and genuine! She really goes out of her way to find the best swimsuits that you will be happiest with. Julia knows her inventory and is a breath of fresh air to work with! Just went in here to try bathing suits on, and the sales lady (back room manager) was absolutely amazing!!! My husband had previously called and gave her a list of suits that he liked, and when we showed up, she had them all ready in our own changing room. She then stayed with us and found more suits after we told her what we liked and didn't like. I was really nervous and skeptical to go to this store, due to the amount of overly "sexy" and sheer bathing suits, but everything actually is extremely tasteful and the sales lady was extremely helpful and classy. This is a great place to get a bikini. I have an unusual body shape and consequently have a hard time finding a swimsuit that actually makes me feel and look good. I would suggest browsing through the Ujena website and know what styles and colors you are interested in trying on prior to visiting this warehouse. The sales person, Julia, was really nice however, I felt kinda of silly walking in here and not really knowing what I wanted. It's not a place where you can just pick and choose off the racks. Julia needs to know what you want and then she'll have to go in back and bring it out for you to try on. I tried on several styles but left empty handed because I wanted to go home to look at more styles online. They do have a computer set up in the showroom so you can browse, but it's just not the same as searching on your own computer. You should definitely come into Ujena having an idea of what you want. I made the mistake of walking in completely clueless 30 minutes before closing! I know, horrible decision. I expected Julia (the kind girl helping me out) to rush me in picking a suit out and closing but she was the exact opposite. She willingly pulled out different colors in different styles just so I could try on. After picking out two suits (of which are my favorite suits btw), Julia still waited patiently for me as I looked around for coverups! I could honestly say after this experience that I will be coming here more often for ALL my swimsuits. read more

If you've never heard of Ujena Swimwear until now, you are not alone. While this family-owned company isn't new -- they've been around for about 25 years -- until recently they sold only wholesale. But earlier this year they opened a retail showroom in their design and manufacturing facility in Mountain View, just over the Palo Alto line. This is very good news if you're looking for a great (and great fitting!) swimsuit and live anywhere within reasonable driving distance. I discovered Ujena as I was searching desperately for a swimsuit to wear to a friend's poolside birthday party. Finding a bathing suit should be a no-brainer, right? But I'd been dreading the ordeal -- I'm a little overweight, have an unconventional body type, and am very picky besides. But I needn't have worried. I was put at ease the minute I walked into the showroom by a lovely young woman (whose name, unfortunately, I didn't get). She then proceeded to show me a variety of swimsuits she thought might work for me. I finally found one suit that I loved, but it was the wrong size and color. Much to my amazement, I was told that they could make the suit for me -- and by the very next day. When I went to pick up the suit -- barely more than 12 hours after I'd ordered it -- I met one of the family's daughters, who was just as lovely as the person who had helped me the day before. When she handed me my new swimsuit, it was beautifully packaged, which was fun. And when I tried the suit on, it fit perfectly. The fabric and the quality of the workmanship were superb. [Heads up: While some of Ujena's suits can be a bit pricey, they do offer a range. But IMHO, the quality of the product and great customer service are well worth a few extra bucks.] All in all, this was one of the best shopping experiences I've had in years. read more

I love Ujena, There swimsuits are made for any kind of girl. And the customer service is great. I visited the showroom on middle-field after my friend recommended it to me. And boy was she right. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, and gave me plenty of swim suits to try on, that would flatter my body shape. Not only is the customer service good, but the atmosphere of the store is good to!! It is decorated very nice, it makes you feel right at home. And the merchandise WOW, they have the cutest swim suits I have ever seen, they are absolutely great and I love them. I had a hard time limiting myself to two swim suits. Went yesterday but needed a different size then they had to try on so wasn't sure. Went by today tried on and figure I'll take a chance on something different. They marked and hemmed them while I waited about 5 minutes. Arrived home and tried them as a bathing suit cover-up and put together with a top for a super cute night outfit. Can't wait to wear them. Another amazing Ujena experience. Three years ago I ordered 2 fabulous 2 piece swimsuits and needed 4 more for a 10 day trip to the Carribean. I placed my most recent order on a Sunday night with 2 of the suits being custom made. I paid extra for 2-3 day delivery expecting them to arrive like the day before I was to leave which is this Saturday and my 4 awesome bathing suits were delivered via FedEx today! They are gorgeous and arrived in 3 business days! The custom suits had a lead time of at least 3 days and I emailed and asked that they send out the 2 stock suits ASAP. They emailed me back Monday morning and said I would have my entire order on Wednesday and I thought "Yeah Right". I am beyond thrilled. Ujena goes above and beyond to service customers and I'm obviously in awe that my custom made items made it from California to Massachusetts in 3 business days. I am sad to say that I will not be purchasing future merchandise through UjENA. A couple of past customers told me not to buy from here but I thought I would give it a try. I thought I had found the perfect bathing suit(s) and was going to buy from them going forward instead of Victoria's Secret which is my normal place. I bought a lovely bikini that unfortunately turned color. It was black with baby pink. The baby pink portion turned into an off peach color. I was devastated when I called and CS couldn't help me. I think if a company truly believes in their product they should try everything in their power to see that their customers are happy. I just wanted someone to look at it and see what I saw but they would have had to charge me to do so and there is no guarantee. The CS rep said this has never happened before and preceded to give me instructions on how to take care of a bathing suit. I laughed because I am actually in Fashion and 34 years old; I know how to take care of a swim suit. Buyer Beware. read more

Best swimsuit trying-on experience I've ever had. Ujena suits are super flattering, and after 20 years of wearing one-pieces and tankinis, I actually bought two bikinis (in addition to a tankini). One top needed the straps moved which they offered to do for me on the spot! And when I asked if they could make a top in a certain fabric, they said they'd make it today, ready for pick up tomorrow. Truly the most amazing retail experience, thanks to high-quality products and phenomenal customer service by Julia. What an asset she is to the company. She was very honest with her feedback, which I really appreciated. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else to buy a swimsuit, except perhaps their online store now that I know how the suits fit me. I ordered a swimsuit on the internet from this company a couple of years ago because they are a US-based company and this was appealing. The swimsuit was fine. Buyer beware, however, that they will illegally put you on their email marketing list and will not remove you. I had to go through a kafka-esque adventure to get removed from their mailing list which is still ongoing. If you have privacy concerns or just generally believe that companies should respect their clients' wishes concerning being contacted after doing business, stay away. I have rarely encountered customer service this appalling, disrespectful, and self-important, and who more blatantly flouted the law about contacting their clients. Never again. read more
