I was helped by a blonde haired woman with tattoos and glasses at this location today (Sunday, June 22) and she asked me to input a phone number. I pressed "skip" on the pin pad and was then bombared with "you don't have a phone number? We can't return or exchange these items without a phone number. Do you know anyone with a phone that shops here?" When I politely replied, no sorry they live out of state. She then got an attitude and said "well these will be final sale then" . I said no problem, all four items are travel sized (clearly I wouldn't be purchasing travel sizes of items I planned to return) but I didn't appreciate her attitude when I denied her request to input a phone number. She was then silent the rest of the transaction. And I mean not a single word even after I paid and she handed me my receipt. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service :( I work in customer service, and at the end of the day it would be nice to receive the level of care that I give to my guests at my job. I asked the personnel for help selecting colors that suit me in a specific makeup product. I was pointed in the general area to look and shown how to clean off the samples myself. Okay so I go to ulta stressed tf out cause mother of all acne breakouts decided to come knocking the day before three interviews and a date I've been insanely excited for. My skin was just fighting against me. I didn't know what to do and I normally know a-z on what works for me-I felt super defeated going into ulta. SABRINA MY FREAKING HERO saved the day!! She gave me a step by step skin care routine on top of application process of concealer to my angry breakout!! On top of that she gave me hacks on how to have my breakout feel more manageable throughout the day ‍ I can absolutely say that Sabrina made my day. She knew practically nothing about the products that they do carry and just wanted to get me off the phone when she learned that I was not booking a salon appointment. I also spoke with a manager about this phone agent conversation, who gave her name as "Mia", I believe, and she was equally unconcerned. I called at 10:48 am on Labor Day to get my hair highlighted . The gentlemen told me to come in now and they have an 11am appointment. I told him I may be a few minutes late because it's last minute. This is a great place to pick up beauty supplies. Every time I have gone to this location I found available staff that helped me find the optimal products. Last visit, I picked up Urban Decay eyeliner in "black market" and Tarte shape tape radiant, a nice moisturizing concealer. The staff person found my shade on the second try. It is the best concealer I have ever tried. The black market shade eyeliner was more like a dark charcoal gray than jet black, it was just what I was looking for. I only came here because I was trying to get a curly cut with Sam. I followed her from the salon she was at before and came here. It's hard to find an affordable curly cut anywhere. I consider this an affordable option. Sam or Samantha also does regular haircuts so don't be worried if you don't have curly hair. I would come back! I placed an order and chose expedited shipping - which apparently disappeared and didn't translate to the end of the transaction. I immediately contacted customer service and asked to pay the difference and change the shipping speed back to expedited. I was told they couldn't do that. They told me to place a second order. I asked to cancel the first if I placed a second, and they told me they couldn't do that either. She texted me before my appointment and claimed that the price would be raised to $400 and would take 5-6 hours?? I've had the same treatment done multiple times and it never went over $160 and always took about 2.5 hours max. She then claimed that she couldn't do what I wanted and said that she knows people outside of ulta beauty salon that can do it. Ulta should definitely look into this because it's very strange that they'd hire someone that couldn't do hair in the hair salon section. I went in for a hair appointment with Katie. She was devacurl trained and so I trusted her. I called multiple ultas that were closer to me but no one had training so she was worth the driver. Katie has some suggestions and was extremely knowledgeable! I will definitely be going back to her. I needed to cut off a lot of dead hair and she did just that.
