Went to this location today and the customer service was subpar. I went in search of exfoliants and body butter, but they didn't have as large of a selection as I was expecting. THE WORST! If only I could give a ZERO. I was a loyal customer and I was returning something today (January 31st 2018 at 5:45PM) and they couldn't find my transaction. So the cashier called her supervisor who also tried to check my transaction and was making all kinds of faces at me. I asked the other cashier why the other cashier (whose name was Ivy), why was her supervisor making faces at me and Ivy (the other cashier) said, verbatim: "Because you're not really nice." I get it, Ivy wants to look like she had her supervisor's back. But please! I gave my store credit to Ivy the nice cashier. Not coming back to this location ever. Always greeted promptly by a helpful staff member. I have never been disappointed by not finding items on my list. Quick check out and ample parking available. Although they never freely offer the samples that are offered on line, you have to ask and most of the time are told that there are none available. I often visit this location because it's located fairly close to my job. This location typically isn't crowded. There are usually only two or three people waiting to be checked out. Super Awesome- especially when you're on a time crunch. The employees greet you as soon as you walk through the door. However, it's often hard to find a sales associate on the floor (maybe they are short staffed). The prices vary depending on the product(s) you purchase. The only major draw back for this location, is the parking! It's a nightmare. I very rarely find a parking spot in the front. I usually walk from Target's lot (which isn't far.) read more

Wow - I had such a wonderful experience at this location today. I'm not extremely gifted at makeup application, and know very little when it comes to picking out products that are right for me. I'm kicking myself for not asking the employees name that helped me, but I was here March 1st around 8pm. I was wandering aimlessly in the store (the selection can be so overwhelming) when an associate came up to me and asked if she could help. I told her what I was looking for and she could not have been more helpful. She took me through many different brands and shades of foundation, explaining the differences of each and helping to find the right shade. Then walked me through the rest of the store for probably a half hour helping me pick out the rest of the items I was searching for. She was sensitive to budget as well - offering cheaper alternatives on things I wasn't prioritizing so highly. You can easily spend a lot of money at these stores then leave feeling a little guilty like you splurged unnecessarily on things you may not love. I am super confident and happy with all the purchases I made, and so thankful for the patience of the employee that helped me! Seriously made my week. read more

I was really disappointed today when I came to the Canton location. Up until now, I've always had pleasant experiences; however, today takes the cake. Despite looking directly in the face of at least three sales associates on the sales floor, none addressed me or asked to assist me. I literally felt like I was begging someone to take my money. This is the the worst Ulta I have ever been too. Every time I go in there I NEVER get greeted. I can never get anyone to help me and when I do finally get some help they are very rude to me and treat me horribly. I get it... I'm not some young skinny and sexy girl, but that doesn't mean you can treat people that like. Each visit I have spent well over $100 on products and each time I get treated like crap. My mother was in town visiting and needed to get face wash because she forgot to pack hers. I took her up to Ulta and warned her that the employees were terrible. She decided to give them benefit of doubt and went in with a smile on her face. She came back almost in tears!!! She told me that no one offered to help her while she was in there. She couldn't find the particular face wash she uses so she asked an employee. The employee then pointed off in the distance and replied with "it's over there somewhere". So my mother asked her politely exactly where over there and the employee replies "I don't know. I just do the register. Just go over there and look".... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? The right thing to do would have been to say "I'm not really sure because I work the register. Give me a second so I can find another employee that does not". So my mother bit her tongue and talked over to the section and still couldn't find it. She asked another employee who finally helped her find it. Then as my mother was walking around looking more she saw one of the previous employees point my mother out and literally said "yeah that's the women I told you about. Old people can't do s*it on their own"..... Again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! These are the types of horrible people you hire? Needless to say I stopped shopping at That location of Ulta. read more

Went in for the first time and the service was terrible! I was hoping to be greeted and asked if I needed something, but instead I was ignored the entire time I was there. The store was not busy at all and there were four ladies working in the fragrance department that were just chatting and did not acknowledge me or asked of I needed help. It is convenient to my work at home so I'm often forced to go in here but I wish I had a Sephora closer to me because their customer service is off the charts better than this store. This location really sucks being a makeup artist they carry a lot of brands I use. Having someone follow you throughout store is so annoying. I can see if they are trying to help but its annoying I spend a decent amount of money with Ulta and even send my clients their. But I will no longer shop with them and just go else where. I've been getting extensions for 10 years, and recently decided to try Ennee out at Ulta beauty. I could not be more pleased with the results. Ennee provided me with a comprehensive consultation, and walked me through all the options and her suggestions for my behalf type. They look and feel completely natural. Her technique has prevented me from getting the matting i normally would with my previous installation. When I returned for hi lites she did a fantastic job matching the color and cleaning up the style. Hands down the best extensionist I have worked with. read more

This review is for Melissa at The Salon at Ulta, she is one of the best colorists I've been to. I just moved to Baltimore, and was quite trepidatious about finding a new colorist, as it took a little while to get my old colorist to do what I asked for. In the past I've also had colorists who were too much of an artiste to take on board what I wanted. Melissa actually LISTENED to what I asked for, and took on board the information my old colorist had given me about my hair. I could see she was creative with color but not that she would ever make a client get their color done differently from what they wanted. She was also upfront about the price and did her best to get the color I wanted while keeping the price down. I am super happy with the color she did, and even if I wasn't as happy with the color Melissa was such a good communicator I definitely could have asked her to adjust it if needed. Will absolutely be returning to see her for my next color. read more

I went to Ulta to purchase a foundation. I am not very experienced with make up, and was a bit overwhelmed when I walked in. But, immediately was greeted with a smile and the make up artist (I'm so sorry I don't remember her name or exact title) was amazing! Very friendly and helped me pick out the perfect shade that was in my price point! She also helped me pick out a few other gifts for the holidays. I'm updating my review now that I've become a semi-regular customer of the Ulta Salon and feel compelled to share my great experiences! First, I was looking to get my hair dyed and noticed Ulta was having a spring sale in the salon for hair coloring. I decided to give them a try and booked an appointment with Melissa. Melissa was really great - she listened to what I wanted to do with my hair and was very thoughtful about selecting a color that was natural, would blend well, and fit what I wanted. I was so impressed with the results! She also did a great job trimming my hair and layering it while retaining the length, which is exactly what I wanted. The price was definitely less expensive than other places I've gone and I have long hair, so I know how expensive cut, color and style can be! I next tried a Dermalogica peel with Sarah. I didn't know what to expect with the peel, but it was a pretty easy experience. There was no pain and my face felt very fresh, clean and "new" after the peel. Sarah did a great job explaining everything she was doing and recommended a very reasonably priced cleanser for me to try. Since getting the peel and using the cleanser, I've noticed my skin is noticeably smoother and brighter. Given my past skin struggles, I'm really thrilled with the results. I'll be back for another treatment and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see a significant difference in the quality of their skin. read more

Worst Ulta I've ever been in and that's saying a lot because I've been to quite a few (diamond rewards.) I looked around first for Sugar Bear hair gummies because on the app it said they had them in stock. After wandering around every aisle I finally asked a woman if she knew where they'd be only to be told every Ulta is different. I said Yes I realize that but on the app it said they are in stock here. She asked me what I was looking for after I'd already told her and I said you know what never mind. I had a very uncomfortable experience at this Ulta, on 10-31-2017 I went into this Ulta hoping to find a concealer. I instead found that both an security guard and a employee followed me all around the store,as I was shopping. The thing that makes this experience even worse was the fact ,that both the security guard and the beauty consultant are both African American ,like myself.Maybe the management at this Ulta feels that if they send people of color to follow other people of color ,then it would not be so obvious that they discriminate against a certain group of shoppers ,because of their skin color. I usually purchase my makeup at Sephora ,but I wanted to try Ulta because it closer to me and has more affordable brands,but I see that I'm better off sticking with what I know a more comfortable and friendly experience at Sephora. read more

Great service and wonderful staff. I always get greeted as soon as I walk in and everyone is so helpful. Got my eyebrows done by Jessica. She is amazing and pleasant! I told her I didn't want them too thin but still wanted an arch. She did just that and even paid special attention to plucking the strays that were left after the eyebrow wax. The store itself is your standard Ulta and still has that "new" vibe. If you're just looking to grab something and go, you'll be ok, but you may as well shop online in that case. The Canton Crossing location doesn't deserve any more than 1 star because the hair salon and customer service are a nightmare. Since my previous stylist moved away, I decided to take advantage of the new customer deal at Ulta. I got my hair cut by Melissa. She was perfectly friendly and polite and did a great job styling and blowing out my hair, and offered to fix up any details if I wanted to come back later to tweak the cut. Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. :( Melissa seemed reluctant to cut my hair as short as I wanted it, and I didn't get the low-maintenance A-line bob I wanted. I tried making the best of it, but the styling fell apart and I was looking rough by the end of the day. After I washed my hair, I really had to face facts. My hair had random pieces sticking out of the bottom layers, especially around the back, and the layering seemed entirely backwards, giving me really short hair on the top layers, and really long on the bottom... resulting in a flat and feathery almost-mullet with two randomly long tendrils at the front. Ew. I had to cut off numerous little "tails" of hair myself and make a major styling effort just to look decent. I can't chalk this up to poor communication on my part because I shared photos of me from a year ago to demonstrate what I wanted. I would have preferred that my stylist honestly tell me "I'm not confident that I can execute that look. Would you consider a simpler blunt style?" instead of giving me a random janky cut. The customer service reps also seem prone to cheerfully passing the buck and lying in lieu of actually providing service. I called on Saturday evening and was told I'd get a call back on Sunday. Didn't happen. I stopped in the store on Sunday and was assured I'd get a call from a salon manager, Courtney, on Monday. That didn't happen either. I finally got a call back on Tuesday from another salon manager, Marlanea, which I missed while at work. I tried calling them back but after being put on hold for a while, I was disconnected. I gave up and got a haircut at a legit salon instead. I guess I'll ask for a refund next time I'm in Canton Crossing, but, at this point I don't expect much cooperation. As a bonus, my family has had crappy experiences here with the customer service too. Looking back, I can't believe I was so blinded by a good deal that I ignored the warning signs. My sister asked for help choosing a concealer shade and the employee assisting her awkwardly went "hmmm" loudly for about five minutes while literally waving pots of concealer around her face and ultimately suggested a shade that was three shades too light and too pink. My mother in law was also put off by the total inability of the staff to offer any useful advice about any product she inquired after, and also by the weirdly blatant ageism exhibited by the employees... why would you avoid talking to women over 35, when they're more likely to have cushy budgets? read more

Had highlights and cut by Melissa at the Ulta hair salon and couldn't have been happier with the service and results! She was honest and open about what was do-able with my hair. She spent a total of FOUR hours tending to my color and cut and even showed me how to style it in the end (even though the salon was about to close, she stayed and spent extra time to make sure I was happy). Prices are VERY reasonable. I would highly recommend to any and all. read more

Went in today to BUY (cologne). The first thing I did was grab a shopping bag and head right to the cologne because that is what I came for. After choosing the cologne I had browsed the store for other things to purchase. I'm in the skin care section and an employee comes to the aisle and acts like she's doing something. After that I headed to look at the gifts kits on sale then there she is again, then I make my way to prestige and THERE SHE IS AGAIN. Mind you I had added things to my bag in the process of being followed. Honestly, I get I had a high value product in my shopping bag, but to be followed the ENTIRE time your trying to shop is so rude, embarrassing and degrading. Yes people steal, but not everyone does. Mind you the fragrance had a beeping censor on it!!!!! One thing I'm not is a thief, I take pride in working hard and being able to buy the things I can afford. So to the little blonde with the cat head band on thanks so much for making me feel entirely awkward during my shopping experience today at your store. I used to work at Ulta so I know how it is, but to turn around and have an employee down my back the entire time and not even have the courtesy to ask if I needed help with anything. Don't overlook the salon in the back! The girls there are so friendly, work fast and always do a great job. I've had my hair done by both Angela and Samantha. The prices are very fair and you can tell that both these girls love their job. Angela has this pleasant smile on her face the whole time she works on your hair, it's so cute. You know what they say about first impressions... The store is bright, clean, and organized. When I came in, an employee greeted me right away and offered her help. I came in specifically for Hado Labo cleansers that were on sale for $2.99(!), so she led me to both the clearance and the Hada Labo sections. I was on my lunch break, so she definitely saved me a lot of time, and there was no need for aimless wandering looking for what I wanted. The manager named Erica asked did I need help and I said yes I am looking for the fragrances by CLEAN. I went to show her a picture of it on my phone and before I could show her she cut me off and said "no we do not have that here! No we don't sell that!" She walked away and resumed organizing the floor items. She never once said well let's see if we have anything comparable to that scent or even yeah let me see the picture and maybe I can recommend something else. I found her to not be concerned at all that they did not have the product that I was looking for. I found her energy to not be positive and her customer service skills sucked!! Came here yesterday to purchase their way overpriced but wonderful hand soap. Since I have a 10 month old, I decided to snag a cart from target before coming in the store so I wouldn't have to carry her. I opened the door and went into the store and made it halfway to where the soap is when an employee came running over to me with urgency. She loudly stated "we don't allow shopping carts in our store,you need to take it outside". I've never known a store to not allow shopping carts. You would think a store would want you to have some place to put their products so you can purchase them. But the story has a happy ending. Since they didn't allow shopping carts and weren't interested in customer service, we took our shopping cart and our money next door to the target and bought soap there. We also saved $4. I see a lot of people with similar complaints about this store. Just because you work at a fancy store, doesn't make you classy. read more

I go into this location often because I work across the street. On Saturday Nov.5, I went in for a "makeover" event by Urban Decay cosmetics. Not only did I walk out looking the same way I walked in, mind you it was by appointment only. The " makeup" artist was terrible, she didn't do my makeup but one eye, while I'm in the middle of two other women with full makeup on, she asked me what I wanted to "focus" on. I thought makeover meant your WHOLE face. She wasn't very helpful until I showed her pictures of me with my makeup done, which I do myself all the time, which is why I wanted someone else to do it and be introduced to new products. Maybe she hates her job or just didn't want to help me, but she was horrible. I spent $116 on makeup that I had to find cause she just wasn't helpful. Not to mention she didn't even know how to do brows, I ended up showing her ONE! ( not both) Don't call it a makeover if you're not going to see it all the way through and please next time you have an "event" actually have real makeup artist who know what their doing.
