Today an associate (Kylie?) searched high and low to find the last jar of a product I needed.

Never had a problem with this store until I finally caved and agreed to take them up on the Ultamate Rewards Card in order to save a few bucks. NEVER sign up for a credit card at a point of sale!!! and I'll tell you why: I've been getting Ulta catalogs mailed to my correct address. But when they looked me up by phone number in the store it displayed an address I hadn't lived at for over 15 years. I informed the associate of my correct address and they seemed to have noted this. Perhaps they just didn't hit "save". A few weeks later I contacted the store to tell them I hadn't received my card or a bill in the mail yet. They gave me a number to call. Turns out the MasterCard was mailed to my old address and it wasn't returned to the post office. I had to spend over an hour on the phone with 3 different people at MasterCard to get the card cancelled and pay off the bill. I went in to the store to tell Ms. Manager how frustrating this was, and that if associates aren't able to update an address correctly for issuing a credit card then they shouldn't be allowed to enroll customers in it. She took my name and number and said she'd find out who did it. I don't care WHO it was. Managers typically take ownership and apologize and it would be nice if something was offered to make up for my wasted time due to their error. Sephora looks pretty good right now. read more

Was sooo excited to go to my favorite store. But the lack of customer service this time bummed me out. I tried to return some higher end foundation that made my skin breakout and Paige was so rude! She said too much was used and offered no solution. I spend A LOT of here and was kind of stunned. I wanted to exchange it for an even more expensive foundation plus another $55 brush. They would've netted over $75 with everything I was buying, but her attitude left such a bad taste in my mouth, I left with nothing. Except my breakout, er foundation cream. Some people at the store are great, Steph, Brittany, Sarah, but this manager needs some customer service training. Where's the closest Sephora? read more

I always have had excellent service at this store and location. Today however, I went to get mascara only sold at Ulta. The closest one from my work is 10 minutes away. Its not far but considering my half hour break, that leaves me 10 minutes.As I was waiting to buy my items, I noticed the lady at the register (an older lady with short grey hair and thick eyebrows) having a very lengthy conversation a customer who was more like a friend. I tried to be polite and look at the items around the check out area. Finally, I said "excuse me." The lady at the check out counter sighed audibly and seemed annoyed that her conversation was cut short. She immediately paged that she would need help because there was 1 other person behind me. Only then did she finally greet me with an exasperated, "are you ready!?!" When I went to pay, she asked for my phone number. I gave mine and the landline phone number where I live. She said "Jayne?" I said "no that's my mother." She rang up my purchase and at that point she felt the need to say, "well, you saved NOTHING because you are not Jayne." I left the store feeling like I wasn't welcome to come back. I was shocked and disappointed. I work in childcare. I'm not paid to sit around and talk. I like my job and I genuinely like the children I work with. I am paid to care for children and ensure they are safe. The notion of work being "optional" is unheard of in my occupation. While the repercussions for not being on task may not seem as severe as in my line of work, I am expected to return on time. I work daytime hours so going another time is not an option and waiting until said lady is finished talking is a curtesy I can't afford to give. I just went there to get mascara and now I'm wondering if its worth going anymore if I am treated like that. read more

I appreciate Ulta's intention to help me sort out my face, body and hair, but there are some flaws at this store that are more notable than my uneven complexion. I came here recently to pick out a Smashbox foundation that was the best fit for my complexion and how to achieve smooth, full coverage. I asked for an associate to help me and waited a little while she finished up with someone else. She was very nice, but the process was not very smooth. The first shade was wayyyy too light, so it was removed and we tried again. At that point we were talking about Beauty Blenders and she mentioned they're made of special latex. I have a latex allergy, and asked if the Ulta one she was using contained latex. I was shocked that she couldn't find out, since Ulta does not label the ingredients anywhere on the packaging. Even the crap CVS brand one I have at home says "LATEX FREE" on it. Just in case, my makeup was totally removed and reapplied again. She couldn't offer another blender so we had to go with a brush applicator, which I don't prefer to use. She then went on to say that the fan brush that she was currently using is her favorite and she highly recommends I get it. Butttt they don't even carry it. What and why. Again, she was super nice but I ultimately left disappointed. But overall, the store is a decent size and seemed clean, bright, and organized. I left after pretty quickly though, because I usually get sucked into all of the different face masks and convince myself I need every single one. read more

I had not cut my hair for 1-1/2 years due to the pandemic. I went to Ulta salon and decided to have someone else color it for once. The first time I went the girl colored it just beautiful. The color I wanted and trimmed it up a bit. I made an appointment for another color in 6 weeks and cut. I was called and was told that girl was not called back after a few weeks so Rachel was going to do my hair. She colored my hair and cut it. First of all she used a brown base and I always color my hair with a 5RV, she grabbed the back of my hair and said it looked like "cotton candy". She wanted to trim it up. She colored it , then she cut it and it was like a mad man let loose on my hair. I told her I didn't want my hair shaved or a Bob cut on one side. She kept cutting and cutting. The one side of my hair was cut alot shorter than the other side. I went home and the color was all wrong. I went back and they corrected the color and cut the bangs more but they kept consulting about the color and I had told them what color I wanted but they just did want they wanted and it was wrong. Rachel didn't listen to me about the haircut. I will never go back there and I have told people to not go to the Ulta Salon in Coon Rapids also, they don't know what they are doing!!!! read more

Ulta salon sucks. I went there wanting silver bayalage hair and left (literally) 5.5 HOURS later with burned/damaged Brown hair All for $170. What a great deal!!! Jill at the checkout noticed my tears and really helped me out and made me feel a million times better....at least Jordyn at the brow bar is AMAZING. read more

I don't shop at Ulta often so I don't have much to say about the store as a whole, but any time I'm asked if I want to sign up for rewards I decline (for the reason I just stated). While returning an item the other day, the cashier asked for information from me that I assumed was standard practice for their returns, not being familiar with how they handle the process. When she hands me my receipt, she gives me a card with it and I walked away, not realizing at the time that it wasn't a coupon, but a rewards card. There was no mention of this because she was doing it sneakily for, what I can only assume, is to meet a goal for the day. This left a very bad impression on me and is a poor practice. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences here. First came in to the Salon to see if they had any quick appointments after a high lighting job done elsewhere left me a little too on the orange side. Kristen was able to get me in right away and did a great job fixing the issue. I've been going to her ever since and I'm always happy with the results. I could wander around that store forever looking at the products and everyone I've dealt with has been helpful and pleasant. Too bad people only leave reviews when they want to complain. I'd recommend this location to anyone. read more

This location lacks customer service skills. The manager Margo needs to be trained to handle her associates and her self. My daughter spends allot of money at this store and online. My daughter was accused of stealing last week by an associate, while she was leaving the ladies restroom. I called the manager of the store (Margo), and complained about what had happened to my daughters. Margo promised me that she would research the situation and will reach out to me and my daughter, as of today 3/13/2018, we have not heard from Margo. My daughter is 25 years old and is very successful , and was not raised in a home where stealing is not acceptable. How the heck on earth is this behavior tolerable by Ulta is beyond me for their associates to act this way. I find it rude and very unprofessional for anyone to behave this way when dealing with customers.(train your people Margo,or maybe you should seek Customer service training.) I am sure theft happens at this store, however my kids do not steal. So before you go accusing someone of stealing, you better get your facts together. My daughters will not patronize your location going forward. Shoppers be aware of this location and the staff. Do not use the restrooms, you will be accused of stealing upon exiting the restroom. read more

I had such a bad experience here today. Waited in line for 10 minutes to check out because only one clerk was at the counter. The one clerk was busy helping someone with a return, totally oblivious to the line that just kept getting longer & longer. A good clerk should be able to manage a return & keep an eye on the long line forming. Heck...the grocery store can. Every time I shop here on a Saturday or Sunday, it's always busy, you'd think they would be prepared. Finally, two clerks came up from the back walking like they were next to be executed. They looked about as happy having to have to be there. The clerk who was doing the return waited on me was horribly rude. I understand that I am an older woman-not 20, & I'm sure she looks at me like an old lady who doesn't know anything. I could be your grandma but I could also be your future employer. I could give you 1000 reasons why your service was sub par & how you could correct it. I may be old & dumb in your eyes, but very wise. Your company could teach you things about people with disposable incomes & how they keep people like you in your job. I'm surprised with all the different Social Media platforms even old people like me use, that you wouldn't think I'd let you know how my visit was, but looking at the comments, your history shows its not about good service. There are many places to purchase products like yours. Next time, I'll be spending my $150 somewhere else. read more
