Went here last night (928/11) to use a birthday gift card. Two good things about Ulta: -Coupons (which I accidentally left at home after I printed it out) -Promotions I've been on a nail polish buying kick lately. There's some things you should know about me - I only wear red nail polish - not pink, not orange - RED ONLY. I've had up to 11 bottles of different shades of red polish, at the same time, before. I'm sick of buying cheapo nail polish that chips in 5 seconds so I'm in trying the quality over quantity thing in the nail polish department. China Glazes were buy 2 get a top or base coat free, so I jumped on that because I had already been looking for the perfect red version of a glitter polish that I saw on caphillstyle.com (which they had.) I ended up also getting a red lipstick (the only color of lipstick I'll wear) on clearance for less than $5, and a acai berry Burt's Bees lip balm and a mud pack facial pack. My total was $25.37. Ulta has a good selection, but this location has a bizarre set up which makes finding stuff difficult. I'm happy with my purchase so yeah, everything is A-OK. read more

It had to be lightened and it took a few hours but it was worth it. I love it and everyone I know loves it. I get stopped all of the time out in public and get complimented. This review is in response to the services I've received at Ulta's salon. For a very long time, I went to Mark at Super Cuts at Eastern and Serene. However, once he left to pursue other options, I impulsively got a haircut by Bethany at the Ulta salon while purchasing some facial care. Thankfully, it all worked out, have used Bethany for several months and plan on continuing our hair relationship for as long as humanly possible. What I like about Bethany is that at first, she understood that I wanted simple things done to my hair. Conservative. Nothing crazy. Each time she made me feel more comfortable with her stylish ways, and we agreed to do something new to my hair. Longer layers, shorter layers, more layers, a few new angles or cuts, and this most recent time we added some gorgeous reddish-copper color highlights to my hair and I LOVE THEM. They're perfect. Subtle enough to be professional, but the color pops enough to give me a little spunk, and I like spunk. She's great to talk to, relaxed and a good listener. She makes suggestions but she understands the client's need. I love that Ulta strives to have well-trained stylists, enthuses their employees to continue their training and certifications and hires personable employees who do great work and make very happy customers (who have subsequently purchased many styling and hair products I normally would have never purchased had it not been for a great, subtle hairstylist). read more

Looking for U.D. This place has plenty of Urban Decay products. The store is big and has tons of stuff. I'm all about my face so makeup is my thing. I collect the best of the best. And I love a great deal. Now the Ulta website needs work lord that thing never works correct. But the store is a different story. I do feel that before you decide to go in look up your item then price it. Because it maybe better to get that item on line a lil cheaper. I'm also all about saving my money. Everyone here is friendly and new I can only assume. If you have a picture they can't help you so just go in when u have time and look for your own items. As weeks go by maybe this will get better. Received a BIRTHDAY gift in the mail, I already had bought it for myself, I go into to return the gift and said multiple times while doing the "return " transaction that I wanted STORE CREDIT to get something else since it was a gift, obviously they don't listen because the cashier put the purchase amount back to the credit card after I repeatedly told her I wanted store credit to get something else with my birth gift return, manager comes over well there's nothing I can do, it's already been processed, I told her, I told cashier multiple times within the 3 minutes of doing the return that I wanted store credit but obviously they don't listen to there customers when you ask nicely and are polite . People go spend lots of money there they can at least listen to the customers. So no birthday present replacement for me... read more

Went to purchase some shampoo and conditioner and this was my first time in an Ulta making a purchase. The cashier that rung me up requested a phone number and I asked what it was needed for as I don't like to give out my phone number. She told me it was required to make any sort or return and without a number provided, the items would be final sale. After being rung out, I read the return policy on my receipt and realized this was a blatant lie to sign me up for the rewards. I really don't appreciate nor trust a business that allows their employee to lie to the consumer. I also was not offered any assistance while shopping for my hair care. I work in retail so I understand how much reward programs are pushed on employees, but making up lies to get people to sign up is not a good look. read more

Today turned out to be a lovely day. I have the biggest smile on my face right now. After having a very negative experience in another Henderson hair salon, I decided to give Ulta a shot. My experience started a little bit unsettling since at first I and the hairdresser assigned to me were not on the same page. However, when Lindsey (the salon manager) did my haircut everything changed. Lindsey, what a beautiful person you are (inside and out). What a great leadership you showed, and what a wonderful job you did with my hair today. I am wholeheartedly thankful to you. You made me feel beautiful again. I'm Giving this store one star and that's being too gracious. Coming here reminds me why I love Sephora so much. This store is not stocked. This is only my second time going to Ulta...ever! The first time was in California. Ulta is not for me. I prefer high end makeup over drugstore. A lot of there high end makeup is not stocked. I walked in and NO ONE GREETED ME! There were so many associates on the floor. I came in about 15 minutes after they were open. It was about 6 associates in front and it looked like they were doing a makeover, or lesson on another employee. No associate asked me if I needed help and I was in the store for about 30 minutes. I had to ask an associate "do you work here and where is Juvia's Place section at?" After she showed me she still didn't offer me any help. This store is crap. It was a waste of my time coming here. I just really wanted to grab the Juvia's palettes and swatch them in person. I should have known from the other reviews this place is crappy!!! Customer Service doesn't exist here. I love ulta I just don't like how the customer service is sometimes at this location. Most people who work here are kind of rude, some of them are super nice and helpful. I prefer going to the lake mead one, but the Stephanie one is unfortunately closer. Went here the other day to get my free Clinique foundation cause I'm a platinum member and the Clinique lady was too busy talking to a coworker so I tried to color match myself and when she went up to me she approached me in rude tone. Some of the workers at this ulta are a hit or miss, they are either rude and act like they know everything or they are really nice and try to inform you in a kind manner. Someone offered me help and when I ask her about one product she was like "we don't have it come tomorrow that we will get merchandise" I bend down and there were more than 10 packs of what I was looking for. All Ulta Beauty shops are very similar in terms of layout of the store and products carried, however I felt that this Ulta is busier than other ones that I have been to in LV. I have found that the staff here is 100 times more helpful and nicer than other locations. Sign up for their rewards, you'll get coupons in the mail or via email and a free item on your birthday. You can also download the Ulta app and use the coupon on your phone! No need to print it out... I didn't find this out until recently. I know they have a salon, and if you're a member of Ulta Beauty rewards, you'll get 30% off your first salon visit! It looked pretty busy when I went in on a Saturday so make sure you call to make an appointment. read more

The store appeared to be empty upon my visit on or around 5pm. I came here knowing what I needed. Being that I'm on vacation I had to buy a small bottle of Redkin Hair conditioner and a comb. During my visit no employee approached me. After looking around there were only 4 customers in the store and I was one of them. I was pretty bummed because I walked in a few days ago looking to purchase a good eyeshadow palette and right away found the Naked Ultimate Pallet. It looked to have everything that I was looking for and so I was super excited. This last year I had gone from shopping at Sephora as a VIB member to ULTA as a Platinum member in no time, mostly due to my moving closer to an ULTA and farther from my Sephora and one of the things that I always appreciated about Sephora is when I would ask for tips on how to use certain things or when I asked if they could try something on me they were always happy to help. I HARDLY did this btw. Today I walked over to an associate who look to be cleaning her brushes and asked her if she wouldn't mind giving me a few tips on how to apply a few of the colors on this pallet and maybe trying them on me. Eye shadow has never been a strength for me when it comes to make up and so any little bit of help and tips count. She told me that even if she tried to show me how to apply these colors that I would probably forget what she told me so... I stared at her for a second in disbelief hoping she would hear herself and take a second to rephrase it or something. Nothing. She just stared at me like 'did you need something else?'. I couldn't believe it. I told her I guess I could just Google some tips and slowly backed away in disbelief. Then as I was walking away the palette I was holding began to beep uncontrollably for some weird reason. She came and told me that she could hold it upfront for me because the sensors were finicky and took it from me. I had never felt so unappreciated as a customer. So I left. Without my pallet and just bought it at Sephora the next day. I'll give this location another shot only because it's the closest to my house, but I definitely have a sour taste in my mouth now so to speak. read more

Considering the only linking factor is YELP I'm assuming like many of the inaccurate and/or obviously malicious "bad reviews" I've read here that it is their lack of proper site management rather than the companies they are hurting. Have been a long time, regular customer of Ulta at a few locations around the city. I recently moved down to the Henderson area and this location is unfortunately the closest to meet my needs. Earlier in the week, I had stopped in and upon hearing that the brow bar was closed, I still spent quite a bit of dough on my Ulta card. Today I went in and there was one brow tech, working on a customer. I planted myself nearby, in wait mode. 10 minutes go by, no one addresses me, not a simple acknowledgement of any kind. Finally I get " Do you need something?" I'm a bit taken back, customarily I would expect "May I help you?" I said I'd like to get my brows done and this woman, orange hair and piercings, no name tag, shakes her head, something about nothing all day completely booked. There is not any other soul waiting visibly. I decided to leave. I have paid my small balance on my Ulta card and I will not be back. Call me disgusted and it's Ulta's fault for hiring inept people that don't know what customer service is. Sephora will love my business and that of every person I relay this information to. read more

Well, I am generally a fan of Ulta, but I was seriously disappointed with my last visit there. I was on the hunt for some red lipstick and also a good dry shampoo and I needed some advice on both. I walked into the store and there were TONS of employees. I mean, they outnumbered customers by 5 to 1 probably. I was welcomed immediately, and then that's the last I heard from anyone. I was looking at cosmetics and started looking around for help. There was a small group of girls chit-chatting nearby and I tried to make eye contact, but none would even look over. So then I started wandering around near the dry shampoos, but there were just too many choices. I ended up leaving the store without buying anything because nobody ever asked if I needed help....not only that, but they were too involved in their personal conversations to apparently even notice that someone might need assistance. So frustrating! There are just too many other options (and nearby) where I can go and receive immediate assistance from friendly staff. Sorry (not sorry) Ulta, but I won't be back! read more

When I walked in one of the reps greeted me and I asked her where the St. Tropica hair vitamins were she replied that they didn't carry those only a select few other brands and didn't bother to check with someone else. I checked online and they were suppose to be in stock in this particular Ulta. After she apologized for not having them I went to look for them myself and I found them. There are only 2 reasons I come here - okay, one big reason - Shellane! She is the best hair stylist I have ever had. I have never once had to bring a picture of what I want. During our first appointment she asked me a lot of questions about my morning routine, did I use product or not? Do I want to use product? How much time do I have to spend on my hair? etc. She then created this gorgeous look that I was able to recreate perfectly again and again afterwards. Every time I see her, I am soooo happy with the results - she gets me. She is very hard to book, so if you are lucky enough to get her - make sure you book your next appointment right away and don't miss it (more on that later)! That being said, this isn't a review on Shellane, it's a review of Ulta. This particular Ulta's customer service SUCKS! When you call the salon nobody EVER answers. I tried at least 5 times over a couple of weeks to book my appointment and nobody ever answered the phone. So I went in-store to book my appointment with Shellane. I waited for 5 minutes at the counter and nobody came to help me. I figured maybe the receptionist got pulled away for a minute, so I walked around the store for a few other items I needed. I came back, waited another 5 minutes and still nobody showed up. I had to go to the front counter and complain to get someone to help me. I missed one appointment with Shellane and it took me a month and a half to reschedule (after trying to call several times and going in-store I finally got an appointment). Also, there is nobody on the floor to help you shop for products and if you're lucky enough to catch someone as they're speed walking from the front to the back, they have no knowledge of the products! Honestly, if Shellane wasn't the best hairdresser I've ever had - I would have started shopping elsewhere months ago! Having gone to other Ulta's this would be my second favorite, plus it's on my side of town which makes it easy to go from home or from work. I love that they always have some kind deal or sale going on! From drugstore makeups, to brand-name makeups, to skincare products, to haircare products, to accessories, to tools, and those fun travel-sized goods. Everyone is friendly and quick to help and greet you as soon as you step through the front doors. Only negative I have for this store is they're always out of stock of the good items! read more

I generally love Ulta but this location is terrible. Every time I come in looking for a specific item it isn't in stock, and the displays are always a mess, and the employees usually don't know much. Today I was scolded by an employee for testing items that "aren't testers" but were already opened. Which is fine, i know they aren't testers.. but they are already opened.... And there wasn't an ounce of politeness in her tone. Maybe I'll just stick to Sephora since I've literally never had to search for a tester there and it is ALWAYS clean no matter which location, and actual drugstores for the cheaper brands since Ulta tends to mark those items up a few dollars anyways... I know I can get the product cheaper, but I love the convenience of being able to get every beauty product I need in one place. Usually that comes with spending an extra $20 per hundred on average. I called the day of the OPI Gwen Stefani release nail polish and asked that they put a certain product aside for me so it didn't sell out. They had no problem doing it, however a little communication goes a long way because when I arrived the crew working looked at me somewhat crazy. After explaining myself twice they realized the product I asked for was sitting behind them set aside with my name on it the whole time. Sign up for the rewards program. You get points, and a free product depending on how much you spend. This will also include a email newsletter with offers and coupons. I personally think they should pay employees a little more, or have a better training session when hired. Not disappointed, but nothing exciting either. read more

I always come to this Ulta cuz its closer to where I live so I tolerate the lack of customer service. But recently it has been getting worse. And its not even with the younger employees its with the older women who just stand there and see customers waiting and do nothing. Like how can you be standing infront of the store not greeting customers and see how someone is standing by the PICKUP ORDER desk and still not do your job? I've never had an issue with this place until today and that's probably because I've never asked an employee for help. First and last time I do that. Although I'm not a professional I've been doing my hair and multiple friends/family members hair for about 10 years. I've learned a lot over the years. I usually get my supplies from a beauty supply store like Sally's unfortunately it was closed and I remembered seeing bleach being sold at Ulta and since they have a salon I thought maybe they would have what I need. I go and see a bleach kit with 40 developer and I grab it (on my hair I use 30 or 20 as it's not very dark but the person I'm doing it on has very dark hair and needs a 40). I can't seem to find any toner so I go look for help i finally see this group of employees talking and interrupt them asking if they have any toner. One of the ladies tell me they don't and then looks at me and asks if I'm a professional I say no as I'm self taught then she tells me she doesn't recommend me using that on my hair (the box bleach with 40 developer I had in my hand) I tell her I know it's not for me and proceed to point at my bf and say it's for him. She then says she still wouldn't recommend it that I should use something lower, I wasn't trying to be rude but I cut her off and said I've already used 30 on him before and it didn't lift as good as it could have. She then tells me how it's all about time and that the number of developer has nothing to do with it. At that moment I knew she had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. One of the basics is yes the number of developer has ALOT to do with the outcome of you hair especially in the bleaching process. Someone with naturally light hair would go for a lighter volume and someone with darker would go for something higher. If someone with light hair would use 40 it can fry the hair. If someone with dark hair would use let's say 10 it wouldn't do much. Another basic is that bleach loses its potency after about an hour. So no it is not all about time. I just let her on and then left. And to think my BF thanked her for her "advice". When we got to the car I'm like yea she had no idea what she was talking about so. I mean if you don't know what you're talking about please don't give tips and recommendations. There's a reason professional don't like box dyes and that's because it doesn't tell you what developer you're using. read more

It always seems like I visit Ulta when I'm looking my worst. I am not sure why this is. Maybe it's because I look in the mirror and realize that I am in dire need of overpriced cosmetics to salvage my face for the day. Whatever the reason, I always keep ending up here. That being said, I don't know why I really keep coming back, especially since the nearby JCPenney has a Sephora now (which is infinitely better). The last time I visited, the Lancome salesperson scared me a little bit. Lancome makes my favorite formula of lipstick, and I decided I wanted a new shade. I asked for the salesperson's advice, and she pulls out this light, frosty pink shade. I was dubious, but I tried it anyway... I was one acid-wash jacket away from having a total 80's throwback moment. Worst of all, she tried to tell me that it made me look "radiant." Wow. I really wonder how these people receive their training. On more than one occasion, I've been "pimped" something that very obviously doesn't work for me. One sales associate tried to sell me the wrong shade of foundation... when you demo a foundation and your client has the skin tone of an overripe banana, you've done something wrong. Also, the sales associates are few and far between and have, on multiple occasions, refused to leave whatever stocking job they are working on to help me. I have also had to wait in line for waaaaaay too long several times because one poor salesperson was stuck ringing people up while the others stood around shooting the breeze. Sephora... I try not to go into this store for small items like lotion or hair accessories because then I end up putting a lot of things in my bag. This store gets over $100 from me every time I enter it. So I try and accumulate my needs to atleast once every 2-3 months and just spurlge all at once. I love to buy shampoo, make-up, exfoliantes, lotions, and perfume here. My most Ulta exciting moment was when I racked up so many points that my level exceeded 6 (the highest). I was a 7! Whoa! (The jokes on me because I'm the one spending money) There are products I will not purchase here. Nail polish--I saw one for almost $30! Blow dryer attachments (they don't carry), or anything I can get cheaper at Walmart as far as nail clippers, tweezers, etc. I'm cheap in many ways, but I'll spend money if the product yields results. Once my $3.50 coupon didn't start until a few days later and one of the cashiers gave me a in-store coupon for $14 off. I don't know what kind of coupon that was but it was certainly better than the one I had. I never have bad experiences at this store. They are always friendly and the cashiers always remind me of good deals I've overlooked and hook me up with samples! FUN! read more

Its a poor man's Sephora but I was willing to give it a try just b/c its closer to my house than a Sephora is. Its sad when one person can ruin it for everybody else. I mentioned that I previously purchased an item in the past and was looking for another one. Without going into details that make this story long she used this story as an opportunity to insult Sephora and all the products they carry. Really? EVERYTHING you sell in the store that isnt carried by walmart or Ulta brand is ALSO carried in Sephora. Their inventory puts yours to shame. If your angle to improve your business is to insult the competition, I'd rethink your strategy.
