Although I understand you can't pay it at the store, there was no reason to loudly insult him saying "you can't pay here" and he said "I think I paid here last month" and she said "um no you didn't". I usually have great experiences here and everyone is for the most part friendly.. but when I was ready to check out, Kai was at the register and she was not exactly rude, but not exactly friendly either. Very passive I'd say with a slight attitude problem. I had thought a brush came with a product when it was advertised but it apparently comes with a different product. I asked to have it removed when it didn't apply, she pretty much tossed it aside, gave her coworker a side-eye, and never smiled once or even looked at me. When I asked for my receipt, she shoved it into my hand. It felt rude and dismissive, especially compared to other employees. Came in to shop and got to the register to use my gift card. Arrived at register to use gift card and standing right in front of the associate the sticker with my pin was removed, 2 numbers came off on the pin. The operations manager wasn't trying to help from the start, it took her forever to come back to the front to assist the front end solo associate, the customer service of Ulta got on the phone with her and she said the number was MARKED out instead of telling the truth and saying the sticker once removed, removed the 2 numbers. I had the best experience at Ulta Beauty thanks to the incredible associate, Chelsea! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel seen and taken care of. I have multi-toned skin, and finding the right foundation shade is usually a struggle--but not with Chelsea! She took her time, explaining what undertones worked best for me and why, and didn't stop until we found the perfect match. Not only that, but she helped me find a hydrating moisturizer that felt amazing on my skin, and--game changer--I FINALLY found a lip color that doesn't leave my lips feeling dry or sticky! When I asked for a non-transferring lipstick, Chelsea playfully laughed with me and handed me the Chanel Ultrawear Liquid Lip Color. After we found my perfect shade, she watched me try (and fail) to wipe it off with water. I placed an order from Ulta for two perfumes, and only one showed up. I reached out thinking this would be simple to fix, but nope. Ulta hit me with the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard: they said the package weight was right, so basically, I'm out of luck. Let me be clear -- I PAID for two items. I only got ONE. I don't care what their scale says. If something is missing, it's missing! But instead of helping, they gave me a cold, copy-paste response like they didn't even read what I wrote. No refund, no reship, no apology. Just "too bad." This tells me one thing: Ulta has a broken system and clearly doesn't care if customers get shorted. Maybe this happens all the time and they just hope people won't complain. That's shady, and it's unacceptable. I didn't get what I paid for, and now I have to jump through hoops because they don't want to take responsibility? No. I'm not staying quiet, and I'm not letting this go. Kind of annoyed. I don't like to leave one star because I don't think anything is that bad, but customer service here is not good. I walked in and wanted to smell Burberry Goddess because I planned on purchasing that and a baby bliss flat iron. I couldn't find anyone (no big deal), so I walked over to an aisle and saw some ladies and asked to smell a sample and they looked at me and said "we don't work in that department we are skin care", which is fine, but no one offered to call anyone for me. Also this ulta is not big so I'm confused how they have "departments". When I found someone she brought me over and realized there was no sample and looked at me and goes "we have no sample" and I was already annoyed because she did not seem to want to look for a solution. This was my first time visiting this location and I have to say it is the worst Ulta I've ever been to. The staff was not helpful. I noticed they only greet certain customers, which happen to all be Caucasian. I really hope it was just a coincidence, but I don't believe it was. I visit this store every time I'm in Houston for medical stuff.....which is pretty dang often....and I've always loved the atmosphere of super friendly, educated and helpful staff. Today though, I went in for a hard task. I had brain surgery 2 days ago and needed someone to fix the bamboozled mess of a haircut the neurosurgeon gave me. Not only did they act like it was no big deal to see me walk in with these giant bandages, but they helped assure me that shaving my hair was going to be alright. They were kind and comforting. Then, I went to pay the bill and I had a zero balance. That tiny act of kindness was of little cost to them, but it was HUGE to me. I purchased an expensive moisturizer recently (what isn't expensive these days?)..I tend to buy in advance of my need and have containers that may sit for a month or so before I need them. I finally opened the container box, saw a "display" sticker on it and a congealed mess inside the container. I called the store, CALMLY explained the situation and informed them I did not have my receipt. Since I shop there often, they pulled up my purchase record, verified the purchase, apologized profusely, and offered to ship me a new one or have one available if I wanted to stop by. I know we're all busy, life is chaotic, but I seriously doubt someone working at the store put the item display in the box...more likely one of the bored to death boyfriends or husbands occasionally seen dazed and wondering around the aisles in stores geared towards women. This locations customer service is horrible. I came in today to buy the purple wet brush flex dry paddle. It was priced at 14.99 but there was a sign directly above it saying it was on sale for around $11. The cashier asked the manager to go back there and bring the sign to the register after showing them the exact line on the sign that referred to the brush being on sale they still wouldn't honor it. So I get home and decide to google it behold the Brush is on their site for the sale price that they refused to honor today. So frustrating exspecailly when a manager raised their voice at the customer. If you sale signs are so confusing that you can't even understand what item they are pertaining to then how do you expect a customer to??? Such poor customer service such a disappointment. I called the salon to see if they had any availability for me to get a haircut and have my hair styled on September 6th. They said yes, I even remember asking a second time, will they be able to style my hair after my haircut, she confirmed. I was greeted by my hairstylist upon my arrival, I expressed to him that I've had horrible haircut experiences where my hair is left uneven and I've been very dissatisfied with previous haircuts. He assured me not to worry and that today would not be a bad experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My hair was down to my hips, I spent a lot of time growing it out so this haircut was a big deal, also it was the day of my birthday party. I asked him to give me long layers and cut 4 inches off my hair. I also asked if he could style my hair after the cut with nice loose curls. His response "of course, I'm so honored to cut your hair, it's so long" I think he attempted to give me layers but horribly failed. The layers are so close in length to each other they all blend in, and then there are random pieces that stick out because they're really long. The front of my hair is longer than the back of my hair. My hair is choppy and it looks like a child gave me a haircut. He took an hour and a half to ruin my hair and then didn't even style it because his next client had arrive and he told them "I'll be right with you" and he was still blow drying my hair. I was so angry I just left and paid my $45. So I had to show up to my birthday party with one of the worst haircuts ever. read more

JUST SHOP AT SEPHORA INSTEAD ! They have never given me problems with any of my pickup orders. Ulta wasted 45 minutes of my time. They wouldn't give me my pick up order without my ID when I called prior to confirm I could pick it up without so I wouldn't waste my time. I even had my account pulled up with the order, the confirmation email with the barcode, & even showed them a picture of my ID with my name which clearly shows it is me even with my current nails showing (it's a distinct design) but they refused to give it to me. How much more proof do you need !! I didn't want to do a return and re-purchase it because my boyfriend paid for my order so I obviously didn't feel like paying for it & him getting a refund. Had an appointment to the salon to get a 2 color permanent haircolor, I looked up their prices online. Seemed reasonable, so I went in and the hair stylist was nice and everything. Before starting she said that it would be $50/30 mins for the kinda color I want and it will take about 3 hours. I was already all settled in so I said alright. The process took alot longer than I was told, I was charged for the time it took to blow dry my hair too. And she got the color completely wrong, I can see Alot of bleached hair where the color didnt take. And I had to pay $450 for the disaster. I will not be coming back!! read more

I went back the next day and was told no manager was available. I walked around until I found a manager - Caitlin- who told me a lot of excuses but never apologized for selling me an empty used bottle. She exchanged it for one that I had to check myself was new and unused. This is a delicate and expensive serum and I can't believe they never checked the bot to see the product nor apologized for selling me an empty dirty bottle and not helping at all either time I went to the store.
