She's been at Sephora for 15 years and she really knows her sh%t. I came to pick up my birthday gift, (you know as a beauty product junkie that's already a problem), ha! How do you just walk into Sephora and just walk out with your free gift? Well, I also walked out learning all about a brand called Drunk Elephant that I really didn't know much about. It was one of the free birthday products that was offered and I wound up picking it and LOVE it! So many awesome products, you can see the display in my photos. All natural and organic and paraben- free. It leaves my skin so soft. I'll definitely be back to try more products. I also came in for some Fenty foundation. Yvonne recommended that before i purchase a new foundation that I should wait until my skin gets its Summer tan or i would be wasting my money. What a smart idea! Being at Sephora is like being a kid in a candy store for me. Sometimes it gets very overwhelming and sometimes you just need some help. I have been going here for about 7 months booking my appointments with Sharon. I thought she did a good job with correcting my color with highlights. We had a original consult where as I told her I was trying not to break my base and color as I used to do. My original hairstylist retired and other salons had not been able to get the blonde highlight color I wanted, it was always brassy or not shade I asked for. During the consult I told Sharon they used Wella color products and Toner/glaze when doing my hair. Sharon wanted to use the pull through cap method to highlight the brassy color out. I was skeptical at first but she explained it would allow her to see the processing better, so I went with her suggestion as I am not a hair dresser and she seemed knowledgeable. For the past 6 appointments about every 6 weeks Sharon was high lighting my hair with a cap and dryer. I did not know what products she was using to achieve the color I told her from the beginning I never went under a dryer but she said would be ok. I had no issues the first 6 appointments. On June 6 2025 disaster struck. Sharon did the same she always does and when she brought me to the dryer all seemed like any other time she did my hair. She came back to check my hair and dryer as she always did before and would then set timer for a second round as she always did. However this time within about 1-3 minutes all of a sudden my face started sweating and intense heat feeling was happening under plastic cap she had on my hair. I tried to lift dryer top and was looking down hall to see if I could see her and she was already walking towards me. I heard a popping sound under the dryer and am not sure what that sound was. Sharon lifted lid and turned off dryer I told her the heat was really intense way more then any other time we had appointments. I could feel my scalp burning. It honestly was scary and awful. Sharon brought me to sink and I asked her is everything ok and she said " you would see me running if it wasn't" she then was trying to get the cap she pulled highlights through off my hair and was having issue doing so, I asked her again is all ok and she said yes. She started rinsing my hair with cold water only which normally the water is warm to hot and putting products that I could not see as I was at the sink on my hair, at this point I was believing all was ok. I was concerned about the intense heat but have never been in that type situation before. She brought me to her chair and proceeded to state I should get a trim and she blew dry my hair with cold air. All of this is not what she normally would do. When she was done my hair seemed ok and I guess the rescue products probably used at sink and at chair made it look that way, I told her my hair felt much dryer the usual and she handed me a used bottle of rapid rescue half empty and cbd conditioner and as I went to counter the staff was all saying how nice the color was I responded saying it feels very dry. (Lonni stated at that point we will never use bleach on you again, I had no idea Sharon was just bleaching my hair, honestly I did not smell bleach when she did my hair, she knew I was always having Wella color products and toner on my hair, I thought that is what she was using to be honest. ) I went home and as I live close by in town was home in less then 10 mins and really looked at my hair, I had to get home as I has a important zoom call I had to be on. My hair looked ok visually but it was so dry and brittle and all back pieces were shorter. I just started crying. I text Sharon and told her I was not happy with the service and she said come back and Lonni will give you credit. I asked her if I should put more conditioner on my hair that night when I shower and she said your hairs been through a lot and just leave it. I am not sure why she acted like there was no issue when at the sink or at her chair or why staff was acting like it was the best thing they ever saw. This deeply troubles me as it appears they were all not being honest to what happened. I went back next day and got credit for the service and Lonni gave me a small bottle of leave in conditioner mask and a bottle of oil for no cost. I thought that was nice and Sharon also stated she would work with me doing conditioning treatments until hair better. I still have the texts, Sharon actually stated in one text please don't hate me. Lonnie stated she called 5 other shops and a dryer could not do this in 1-3 mins. I am not sure if she called the other shops that are owned by them. I called a few shops one in NY and they stated it was over processed and should not have been under dryer at any time or at any of my appointments. See full review on their Facebook page.

I have to say I have been to this salon a few times. Blowouts had been basically good. Essentially in line with the price charged. First color was fine. BUT.... B U T - YOU CAN VIEW THE OUTCOME OF MY 2nd COLOR JOB IN PIC BELOW! (sorry if turned the wrong way). This was supposed to be a "touch-up" - a root touch up to cover some stray grays. My hair color has & always has been from birth - dark brown. So I was told they used a mix of color 4 & 5 to achieve. You can see how yellow-ish the outcome was! Tbh, I didn't notice this so much the first night, but when I went to another salon, the owner there IMMEDIATELY NOTICED (she could see the top & back of hair where I couldn't see well, as well as near forehead) -- the way my hair dried naturally and the the way it was blown out, hid it near the forehead, but you can clearly see color was botched when you lift up. She was CONVINCED I had done it at home myself. She was shocked to learn a professional did this, let alone the owner of a salon. Look, mistakes happen. I am not a color expert, but was told all sorts of possible reasons why this could occur (none of which were of my doing). Bottom line, I like to give local businesses every opportunity to correct errors. I emailed this salon. No response. And I called. Got machine. I asked if I could come back to them to try & correct the color (hopefully at no charge, which seemed fair - as I am NOT & did NOT ask to merely be refunded & go elsewhere, which should've been a definite option). Although I did offer to pay in full for a follow-up blow-out. Btw, the owner was also the stylist who did my color. To be respectful, I'm deliberately leaving out names. I wanted to give the owner the benefit of the doubt. No reply. Waited a few days. Sent another note. No reply. Week later, 3rd email. Anyway - 3 emails & a phone call later. Still no response. So, I'm not only upset about hair color (thankfully starting to grow out a little on its own - or I should maybe say, the gray is showing through the yellow), but I'm now unbelievably frustrated. And now upset, & angry. And that would be an understatement. No one likes to feel a bad service was done. But worse, no one likes to be fully ignored as if the thinking is, "If I ignore a client (to whom a bad service (or bad outcome) was done) long enough, maybe they'll just go away". Why can't anyone in our society, esp business owners merely own up to a possible mistake & offer to correct in a timely manner? I don't know why my color turned out as it did. And tbh, I was unable to notify this business as quickly as I should have as the REASON I had colored was I was going out of state for 2 weeks, so I wasn't in the state to have corrected, but ensured I informed the owner upon my return. But no answer at all? Not to even discuss the issue with me? To FULLY ignore a client? (And I was a good client - always arrived on time, tipped fairly, was pleasant, etc.) Even if I were a less than stellar client, you shouldn't provide a service as you can view in the attached picture & then not respond in any manner. (Or only reply once a Yelp review posts) That's simply not ok. And it shouldn't be ok for you either. Extremely unprofessional - doesn't call back for hair appts, has non-working scheduler on website, -- "bedside listening skills" are non-existent (which is ok, as I go to a stylist to get my hair done properly, & someone who is a good conversationalist/listener is just a bonus), but sadly, you'll get none of the above at this salon. I don't complain about this, it is unlimited. I can come as many times a month as I choose. They are never on time. For a 35-minute service, I allow 2 hours. I blow my own hair. I have accepted this because of the price. At my last appointment, on 5/28 they were short-staffed. The location was dirty. There was hair all over the floor. The counter tops were dirty. The bathroom was overflowing with dirty paper towels. They were out of cotton discs and color remover for your skin. The schedule was 40 minutes behind. No one complained. They offered an option to reschedule to people. But today.... I was 15 minutes late. Yes, I was. AND I was told my appointment was cancelled. I drove 45 minutes from home as I had done 30 times and was turned away. I asked for the color to do it at home and was told NO. I have an unlimited membership for a year and 3 months. But NO. So, I don't recommend Madison Reed. The color fades fast, the location is filthy, and they are always late. Their customer service... well, not too good either.
