This is rating is based on the unethical behavior of the store cashier. The store itself was professional: clean, organized and had well stocked merchandise. Below is the letter I sent to the corprate office. Today, March 10th, 25, I rushed in to purchase the Dermalogica Healthy skin kit for $39.50. When I handed my merchadise to a brunette cashier (Katerine as titled on the receipt) she began to ask for my personal information, i Interrupte her and told her I was in a hurry and just wanted to purchase the merchandise but not sign up for a rewards program. She replied she needed the phone number for the transaction, after I gave her the phone number she asked my name, I replied AGAIN, " I don't want to sign up for the program, I ONLY want to pay for the products." She replied she needed to add my name to my receipt. Next, she asked for my last name, AGAIN I said,"I just want to pay for my merchanside, NOT SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING"! After delaying me by entering the information she said I'll put the receipt in the bag. I took the bag and rushed out to catch my bus. When I arrived home I saw on my receipt I was signed up for the Ulta Beauty Rewards, Member # with my 39 points for the current purchase. I don't mind being in the rewards program but was pressed for time today. My complaint is that Katherine LIED, MANIPULATED, and DECEIVED me multiple times throughout the transaction. Her behavior proves she is immoral and unethical which poses a threat to Ulta Beauty and the employees. Her behavior casts shame on Ulta Beauty's reputation and promotes the "wicked" women in makeup stereotype. Watch your backs, you have a conniving, treacherous female among you!!! read more

I went to see Flora today for a full highlight and keratin treatment. She listent to what I wanted and took the extra time to foil my hair to get the best dimension. Not only does my hair look great, she is a very kind and welcoming hairstylist. I like to have good conversation while i am getting my hair done and wow! What a very kind and gracious person. I was in a huge pinch to get my hair done before the holidays, and i was able to schedule a monday appointment on a saturday! AMAZING Natural Hair Service! Liz did a beautiful job on my hair -- I got so many compliments!! I was in town for the holidays and hurt my finger so I couldn't do my natural hair on my own. Luckily, I saw that this Ulta salon had one more opening before Christmas. Liz was not only incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, but she is also very knowledgeable about natural hair. She asked me questions to learn exactly how I wanted my hairstyle, and gave me lots of tips on how to care for it at home. It was an amazing experience -- 10/10 recommend! read more

Excellent service, haircut and color. Reason for 3 stars: Stunningly expensive. This is SW Michigan, not NYC or Chicago. But they charge big city prices. No wonder I hardly ever see anyone getting their hair done here. For cut, color and style I paid nearly $200 when tip was included. On the bright side: You'll likely get an appointment as soon as you like because you're competing against far fewer customers for the stylist's services. read more

I have been a loyal Ulta Customer for years! So much so that I had received Platinum status year after year for more than 9 years, I loved their rewards program. So when my financial advisor suggested Ulta stock as one of my options when it was time to adjust some things especially since we were in the middle of a pandemic and I wasn't shopping as much at Ulta I said it's a no brainer for me...no to the other stocks he mentioned, I'd invest in Ulta! Fast forward to 12/29/21 shopping at Ulta make a purchase ask the cashier if my points ever expire? I was told No! My receipt shows 0 points expiring (which I did not know). Fast forward again, things are opening up much more, I am meeting with a lot more people for my job, a girl needs her products and make-up...I place an order in March...I noticed I had roughly 2600 points.(I was saving my points because I really want the dyson hair dryer and can't bring myself to spending that much on it...so I figured I would use my points) Anyway on April 2nd I go to place a fairly large order wondering where this will put me with my points and it says I only have 602 points and that 2394 expired on 4/1/22!!!!! What? I was sick to my stomach! I just spent over $300 in product in past few months and my points would have paid for a large portion of that! I reached out to customer service and was told sorry, nothing could be done! My Platinum status had dropped since last year...I'm sorry I just asked the person who checked me out at the store in December and my receipt showed 0 points expiring. Ulta customer service doesn't care that I was given bad information and just pointed out to me that I was sent an email that should have told me about my points expiring, I just had to laugh about that...if you are an Ulta reward member how many emails do you receive a day, week? Well I'll tell you...I received 27 between 3/23 and yesterday! That averages more than 2 a day and I don't have time to to read all of them, it's ridiculous...I trust when I ask an employee if my points expire and they tell me no! It means No! Anyway after multiple emails with template responses 1 person finally read my response in which I stated "No, don't thank me for my understanding because I don't understand how any company wouldn't make something right when their employee was in the wrong. If I make a mistake that costs my client hundreds of dollars, we make it right! I received a call from a fabulous Guest Services Representative named Jameson who spoke to upper management and did something to make things right, I can't say what because they never re-Instate points...but they did acknowledge their responsibility in training how to respond to this questions in the future. Super tidy store with plenty of selection however I wish they carried more American Crew products for men. Patricia at the register was super helpful with redeeming gift cards and points/rewards . Before I went to Ulta Beauty Hair Salon to get my hair done, I read some of the reviews and said to myself, they CANNOT be that bad and booked my appointment with their Master Stylist; which happened to be the hair saloon manager, Ashley Keeler in Kalamazoo. She is after her numbers and sales more than customer satisfaction. You do not want to invest your hard-earned money in a place where you will not be heard and treated in a respectful manner. The only thing they do care about is your money, not the service and your satisfaction. I was given a lower price to bleach my roots and gloss all over my bleached hair. By the time, it was done there was a $40 difference and they did not see any problem with it, when I questioned it. When I asked for an explanation, they gave me the runaround. I would not recommend anyone to go to their hair salon in the Kalamazoo, MI location, especially with Ashley Keeler. Their customer service representative was worse than the store manager and salon manager. I sent an email to their customer service, and when I received a call back the person kept putting me on mute as I was talking and told me to call the store. She also told me that she had to call me to close the complaint and she cannot do anything for me other than to tell me to call the store. This tells me enough about their care of customer service. I am so upset I could cry! I have been a supporter of Ulta for many years now and they have lost a faithful shopper. It takes me awhile to save up my points and I really looked forward to the time when I have accumulated enough for a shopping spree! About 2 weeks ago I redeemed my 1100 points for a purchase at the Kalamazoo Ulta on West Main. Unfortunately, I grabbed the incorrect shades and by the time I made it to the store to return the items I had changed my mind and decided to purchase different products instead. There were issues with the return from the beginning. The cashiers were very nice and I trusted that they knew what they were doing. The first cashier couldn't figure out how to process my transaction so a second cashier took over. He finally figured out that the issue with my exchange was that I had redeemed my points, which I had informed them of at least twice during the transaction. He finally figured that portion out and then I was asked if I wanted to have two separate transactions (one for the return and the second for the purchase of the new products) or one transaction where I could exchange the old products for the new products and my points would be put back on my account within a couple of days. To make an already long story short, it was all done on one transaction and I lost my points because I did what the cashier suggested. I called the store and was told they couldn't do anything about my points to call guest services. I called guest services and was told that they couldn't do anything about my points and I can't get any of them back. I can shop at Sephora, Macy's or any numerous websites to purchase my products but I have supported Ulta up until this point. Those points I earned and I feel that I shouldn't be penalized for following the advice of Ulta employees. Ulta please educate your staff further in regards to transactions regarding returns involving points otherwise more faithful shoppers will take their business elsewhere. read more

Went to get my haircut at Ulta, waited over 45 minutes for my hairdresser to 'finish up' with a previous client. I then seen the hairdresser I was waiting for take a walk in for a consultation leaving me to continue waiting again! Needless to say I will not be getting my haircut there ever and I will not be referring them to any one else either. read more

Rudest employees! Had an employee lie directly to my face and tell me they only give out 3 certain brands of foundation samples, and only in certain jars so she wasn't able to do anything for me. Then continued to tell me that they only accept foundation returns that is 80% full. I have been to multiple ulta locations and never ever heard of these "policies" so I called corporate at the store and was told that neither of these are true.
