Not even sure why the website allows you to schedule salon appointments. I have tried three separate times now to schedule my and my niece's ear piercings. Different months, different days and each time I schedule something (even confirmed the appt the day before) I get calls an hour before saying that either the stylist is not in or unavailable and no one else can help. Completely ridiculous. The icing on top is when I received notice of cancellation yesterday, they left the message at 10 a.m. They do not open until 11:00 a.m. My appt was for 11:30. So even if I wanted to call and speak with someone to reschedule, they weren't open yet. They intentionally cancelled my appointment when I wouldn't be able to speak with anyone. This was for my niece's birthday. Way to suck Ulta. read more

I had an order placed with a gift card I received from my mother for Christmas. I used it on an item and ordered it for curbside pickup. It was the last day to pick up the item, but my mother was in cardiac ICU in the hospital so my husband called to see if they could hold the order another day and he would pick it up for me. The girl on the phone said no problem at all. The next day I received a notice that my order had been cancelled. My husband called and told them what happened and had to speak to 3 different people including the manager. I paid with a gift card and it was used up so I threw it out and they didn't know what to do. The manager finally go on the phone and said she'd contact customer service. It's been days and have not heard anything back at all. I understand I didn't come and get it to begin with, but don't tell someone you are going to hold it and then cancel it and then say we will contact customer service and then not contact back. No one knew what to do. I couldn't get my money back from my gift card. It just added more stress since my mom was already in the hospital. She is what is most important though, but I wish the staff knew what they were doing. No one knew what to do and didn't say sorry or really cared. I ask for gift cards every Christmas for Ulta but I think I'll pass next year. read more

I arrived at Ulta about 30 minutes before closing to buy some face wash and shampoo/conditioner since I had forgotten to pack them for my trip. Being from out of town, I was unfamiliar with this store's layout and had to search through nearly all the aisles to find my usual brands. I was in a hurry to avoid inconveniencing anyone just before closing time. As soon as I walked in, someone greeted me, though I couldn't tell where the greeting came from, so I just said hello and continued shopping. While looking for my items, I noticed an employee who seemed to be following me everywhere I went. He never spoke to me but was always nearby, either "looking at products" or "fixing the shelves." At first, I thought it was a coincidence, but as I moved to different sections, he continued to follow me. Realizing what was happening, I quickly grabbed what I needed and headed to the register. I told the cashier that I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated by the employee's behavior. She appeared shocked and asked if I wanted to speak with a manager, to which I agreed. When the manager arrived, she claimed the employee was new and just familiarizing himself with the store. This explanation felt dishonest to me. Due to this unsettling experience, I will not be returning to this Ulta location. read more

Courtney was SUPER and did a super job doing my second ear lobe piercing. I called the store and it was easy getting an appointment with Courtney in the salon. She took me right to a chair and explained the process and ensured she knew what I wanted. Courtney took her time and carefully measured and placed dots on each ear. Then she showed me to ensure I was happy. She was careful and clean with the equipment. She showed me the earring choices to select; there are several. So I told them the name of the product I was looking for that has fragrance free and one of them was very surprised but walked with me to find it... and surprise -- it's fragrance free! What a complete turn off walking into a store and hearing NO UPON WALKING IN! If I didn't know they carried multiple brands I absolutely would've turned around and left. Ended up buying what I needed and the woman helping me was nice but seriously don't tell a customer NO when they walk in the door. Work with them... give them options!! read more

I asked consultant for mascara good for contact lens wearers. she directed me to Lancôme which I purchased. I tried it 2 times and each time my eyes became red and the mascara flaked off into eyes. Horrible stuff! Unfortunately I could not find my receipt. I took it back, explained, and asked if they could exchange it for mascara that was good for contact wearers. They said they would give me a 26 cent credit towards another product. Lancome mascara is one of the most expensive. I will never shop at Ulta again. read more

This team has always treated me with respect and has never given me any difficulty with receiving store credit or exchanging items out because of this issue. This is the best Ulta store I've ever experienced. My hair color got ruined somewhere else and Aimee was able to help me fix the problems. Aimee is a Master Stylist with amazing skills and she set me on a course for the hair color and style I now really love! Aimee is very kind and professional! Another star in the hair salon is Requesh! She straighten my hair and did a wonderful job! She is the Elite stylist and really knows what she is doing! I highly recommend Requesh as well! I also had my eyebrows waxed and trimmed by Sally. She was extremely talented at fixing my brows. Sally also helped me find a foundation and mascara I love. Sally's service and advice is a real reason to return to this store over and over! Also, I had a facial with Courtney! She is passionate about her job and it shows in the care and quality of her facial! Highly recommend getting a facial with Courtney. Stay away from the salon! I went in to get a blowout and left with charges for other services. They asked do you want some curl, and I said sure, but they forgot to say that would be $30 extra. I have experienced great customer service over all at Ulta through out all departments except in the salon department. I have had problems with having hair stylists "letting" me completely bleach my hair. As is I need permission to do my hair.. Like I'm paying you to do my hair so do and it don't ask questions! THIS BITCH LINDA; did my hair didn't fuck it up or anything but was so rude about doing it! Kept saying every time she was check the color that how horrible it looked and how bad it was going to turn out but when she was finished she wanted to pat herself on the back and take all of the credit after complaining the whole time doing my hair. Linda at Ulta hair salon is not suggested by me especially if you are wanting to do something crazy with your hair. I was 2 seconds from walking out going to Sally's and buying the stuff to do it myself. It would have saved me so much more money and patience..
